Title: So the Play on Wii games are not simple GC ports? AWESOME!
Post by: Solar on November 12, 2008, 04:32:43 PM
Apparently they will have, or at least Donkey Kong will, extra content like new stages and not just Wii controls. Does this mean an uncut Windwaker is really not that impossible?  0v0

Now I'm wondering if my Super Mario Sunshine Deluxe idea could see the light of day.

Kraid was supposed to have been in Prime.

It'd be awesome if they could add that, but what would Prime 2 get? I can't think of anything =/

News to me.  Oi, THAT would definitely warrant a re-buy.  The only other time we've seen a 3D Kraid was in Melee.

Prime 2 is [tornado fang] awesome as is though.

There was also that escape sequence they originally wanted to put in after you defeated Metroid Prime. 8D

No question, however, now that I think about it, Wi-Fi multiplayer please?  8)

I wouldn't be opposed if these re-releases got added content. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were already pretty stellar (more so 1 than 2... two was lacking something one had), so adding to them while not damaging what's already there would be quite nice. Also, perhaps they could fix that dead-end glitch in Metroid Prime 2? You know... the one with that one sound puzzle that if you leave the room while doing it (maybe you're low on health) or you have to suddenly go somewhere and save, the puzzle resets but the locks do not? Yeah, if you haven't saved in a while, it's a nice reminder to why you should save often. In a catch 22, if you saved after leaving the puzzle, it's a dead end and you need to restart your file ALL the way from the beginning.

...Yeah, they probably should look into fixing that.

It was because of this glitch why I will never forget where most of the items are in the game. Doing things over again after a week long play through tends to burn things like that into one's memory. XD

i read about the glitch but never encountered it myself.

I hope they make a slight change for the Weaponsystem in MP2
The thing with ammunition is good and all but its way to fast empty. And maybe they revise the BeamCombos.

Is that...RIDLEY?
*looks at filename*

That...that would have been over-the-top. I like Ridley a lot, but I think it was nice for him to take a breather.
Now if you could put Kraid in MP2, THAT would be a better touch.

I love that Shadow of The Colossus vibe this gives me, but I have to agree with Tails. Seeing Ridley all three times without bringing in the other Metroid & Super Metroid bad boys would do more to cheapen his appearances rather than make them memorable.

Looks like a Chozo version of Ridley. A Chozo-Ridley would be [tornado fang]ing unstoppable.

We need a Wii version of Twilight Princess for GCN.

Also, a Wii Four Sword Adventure would be nice, except It'd probably be a new Wii title.
Add an option to play without handhelds(Split-Screen or PiP instead?) and I'd definately get it. Add WFC play and you'll have yourself a best seller. Also, I know it's totally against Nintendo's policy to include a game in another game while trying to sell that game, but including LttP as a side game would be awesome(new graphics, and maybe remixed dungeons and bonus stuff too).

Yeah, apparently he was only removed due to time constraints.

Overkill much? >_>

There's already a Twilight Princess on the Wii.  I know that's not what you mean, but the game hasn't even reached its two-year anniversary yet.

Metroid 5, God willing, isn't happening unless Nintendo comes to their senses and rebuilds the Power Suit.  The Fusion Suit blows, plain and simple.

Hey I liked the Fusion Suit >.> ...bring back the Light Suit please Nintendo.

Anyways, now that Retro is not gonna make anymore Prime's, there HAS to be a Metroid 5 or the same thing that happened during the N64 generation will happen again, and by that I mean no Samus >_<

Eh, more like SNES era.  We did get ONE Metroid game.  But it is surely not enough to satisfy the ravenous fans.  I know I'm still itching for more.

Bringing back the Power Suit, eh?

Looks like she takes a trip back to Chozodia, then.
Unless a living Chozo gives her his/her armor.
Or the Federation actually perfected the Power Suit tech.

There was an N64 Metroid game? Hmm, don't remember, do tell.

Well, what I said was for the next generation, but it is too early now that I think about it, so yeah, more like the SNES era. Maybe not if we're counting the ports and that awesome Metroid fangame.

Also, I DARE anyone to tell me this would not be [tornado fang]ing awesome if real

EDIT: Perfectly happy with (see: need to blow the dust off of) my copy of Metroid Prime 3. Replaced LoZ:TP for when I'm craving some trigger-happy action and puzzles.

No, I mean we already got a Wii Metroid game.  Therefore we have already avoided the N64's level of disaster.

MP3 was the first Metroid Prime I enjoyed. It brought back the feeling of real failure or success. In Super Metroid, if you missed your target, you sucked. In MP1/2 if you missed your target it could have been various reasons. In MP3, if you missed your target, it's because you have bad aim. With no lock on I could easily hit the enemy 70% of the time. I can't even guess what my hit rate was for MP1/2 without lock-on.

...wow, Omega Ridley's easier than I remembered. But then that file is on Normal. This time around, I'm starting on Veteran (and the Space Pirate Hot Potato skirmish was as difficult for me then as it is now; I nearly Game Over'd).

My issue with free-looking my way through MP3 is the fact that there is no way to disable the game's auto-level.  Which gets VERY, VERY, VERY annoying real fast.  So, yeah, I lock-whore it, and disable the lock-on free aim because lock-breaking enemies require you to correct your aim over and over again.  The game automatically switches it back on for bosses which require it, so the only rough spot is those Space Pirate ships that are vulnerable in the front, gotta free-aim those.
