Again, comments/critiques are completely welcome and any suggestions for songs I should do is appreciated as well.

Edit: Whoops, looks like the Snake Eyes MP3 that I linked to was an old WIP. Fixed.

Great stuff man. I love the 8-bit remixes for Departure and Esperanto. I hope you do more 8-bit remixes from the Rockman Zero games, namely stuff from Rockman Zero 2,3, and 4. The first Rockman Zero game didn't have much memorable stuff in my opinion.

Oh and of course, it wouldn't hurt to hear stuff from the Rockman X and ZX games. :D

Esperanto has always been a favorite of mine from Z4. It sounds awesome.

I'd love to hear an 8-bit version of South Pole. That's my fav track from Zero 2.

Or Booster Forest. You are truly a god if you can do that track justice in 8 bits.

Alright, I took your advice and made an NSF of Booster Forest (I'm assuming you meant the song from Rockman X8. If not...well that's what I made anyway, heh). I've also decided to put the song on youtube for those that don't want to download the song. The quality is down a little bit, but it sounds just about as good. Here are the links: [MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/MMX8BoosterForest8Bit.mp3)] [YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiTNrtNIxJc)]

Oh just as a side note, you'll notice that there are more channels playing in this song. The newest WIP of FamiTracker has almost full VRC6 support which adds 3 channels so I had more to work with this time.

Back after a huge haitus and I've got up a new song. It isn't 8- bit, in fact it's a MOD file, but it's an arrangement of Rockman ZX's Snake Eyes. Not sure how well it stands up to the arranged version the composer made but at the very least, it sounds decent I think. I would only recommend downloading the MOD file if you want to look throgh it as I used VSTs which will make the file sound different when played in a MOD player. The mp3 and YT video sound the way they should. Here are the links, and enjoy!

MOD (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MODs%20and%20NSFs/Mega%20Man%20ZX%20MODified%20Snake%20Eyes%20%28Final%20Area%20Arrangment%29.it)

Oh wow, I could listen to this forever!

Beautiful intro; it reminds me of Ice Brain from Idea. The instruments and added beats really add to the song!

Woah! That's a pretty damn cool remix of Snake Eyes!

...But why is the MP3 version much shorter than the MOD version? :(

Hey thanks for all the replies everyone!

I've fixed all the links and added YouTube links for everything. The one thing that still isn't working is the NSFE link for Booster Forest because I lost the file heh. If anyone happened to download it in the past, I'd be extremely happy if you could upload it somewhere and post a link.

Here's another song after another long hiatus, heh. Sorry for dragging this post out of the depths of internet limbo, but I've made another NSF, this time of Rockman ZX's Wonder Panorama. So, enjoy! (Also, year long broken links have been fixed.)

Thanks for the comments, guys! I've got up a couple more songs, though they aren't exactly Rockman related. First is an original song that I wrote in ModPlug over a year ago that's supposed to represent a Results theme, though I'm not too sure it fits that name.

Composition - Jazzy Results
[YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWHSRTNqUHw)] [MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/Jazzy_Results_%28Jayster%29.mp3)]

Next is a remix of the Zelda series' fairy fountain theme, inspired by chiptune music, though it isn't a chiptune itself.

The Legend of Zelda - Chipped Fairies
[YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqQZyqcsZvI)] [MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/The%20Legend%20of%20Zelda%20-%20Chipped%20Fairies.mp3)]

Please enjoy!

Back, and I've got a couple of new songs up again.

First, a couple of 8-bit versions of some Rockman ZX tunes.

Rockman ZX - Gauntlet
[MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/MMZXAreaLNSF.mp3)] [NSFE (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MODs%20and%20NSFs/MMZXAreaL.nsfe)] [YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L7bdtE8Tj4)]

Rockman ZX - Industrialism
[MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/MMZXAreaENSF.mp3)] [NSFE (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MODs%20and%20NSFs/MMZXAreaE.nsfe)] [YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzn7Ljbto6I)]

And finally another remix from the Zelda series.

Zelda - Dark Tal Tal Heights
[MP3 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/26387209/MP3s/Dark_Tal_Tal_Heights_%28Jayster%29.mp3)] [YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrm52P2NXJY)]

The MP3 of that last one is more up to date then the YT video, fyi. Enjoy!

Gauntlet is smooth coolness~ :3

OMG I LOVE Industrialism!! Specially the specific sound channels (instruments) you picked for it~ :cookie:
Feels like it could easily fit a MSX2 game, like Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake or something. >U<

Tal Tal Heights is great too. ^u^

So here's another one I just finished from the MMZX soundtrack. Nothing's set in stone really, but I'm thinking I might just do a cover soundtrack of sorts of the game with Famitracker. Anyway, check it out!

Mountain Rider (Area B Mountain Pass)

Oh yay! More music!

I've always liked the remixes you've put out. What do you have in store for everyone next? Some more Mega Man ZX mixes? Perhaps some MMZX:Advent stuff?

Glad you like them! Actually, next up is an 8-bit version of "Whoa I'm in Space Cuba" from Mighty Swtich Force. Check out the full soundtrack if you have not yet done so. It's pretty much the [parasitic bomb].

Thanks for the comment. Thanks for the offer, but virt has already heard it I believe. Anyway, next up is another song from ZX; Cinq Ville (Area D Highway)! Hope you enjoy it, it's a bit shorter because it doesn't loop like most of the other covers I've done.

But, a question: can NSF's this complex run on real hardware? I'm curious.

My favorite track from ZX really translates well into 8-bit.

Is it possible? Yes. Plausible? Not really. I've seen some videos of people modding their NES systems to be able to playback from expansion chips, such as the one that uses the extra sound channels that I'm using, but that's just it, they're mods. As far as I know, the NES didn't allow for external sound chips like the Famicom did, so you couldn't normally be able to have music this complex on an NES. As for a Famicom, I would think it would be more plausible.

Here's an original piece I made with Famitracker. It's inspired by Nobuyuki Shioda's early music and the music of the International Superstar Soccer games (which I highly recommend you check out!).

Just thought I'd update my post with some more works that I've done over the past few months. First, I have a music reel that shows a bunch of WIPs that I have. Some are original and some are covers, including an "8-bit" cover of MMSF3's Spade Magnus. Also, I've covered Magical Tetris Challenge's "Vs. Wolf" and Nintendo Land's Main Plaza - Night theme in FamiTracker, and composed a new original in FamiTracker that was inspired by a lot of neo-prog music. Hope you enjoy!
