This is a preview trailer of Rockman X3 that was headed for 32-Bit CD consoles at the time. Most noteworthy of this footage is the mention of a 3DO release that was planned alongside the PlayStation and Sega Saturn versions. As we all know, no such version was sold on the market. You can also hear an alternate version of One More Time, the Japanese opening theme for the CD versions of X3.

I recently purchased a VHS tape from an eBay seller in Japan called CSG TV-Game Collection '96. CSG features lots of old Japanese Super Famicom, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, NeoGeo CD, PC-FX (and I think, 3DO) games from that era of gaming. The games featured come from many various Japanese game developers that you can probably think of, including Capcom, Sega, Konami, NEC, MediaWorks, Game Arts, Takara, Tomy, and much, much more.

Alongside Rockman X3, I've put up a trailer of Resident Evil (PS) from the same tape:

The VHS tape was just delivered to my residence just yesterday, I'm now in the process of ripping the entire "CSG TV-Game Collection '96" VHS cassette. If you are looking for what games that what developer has, I can report them here. I have a photo of the front label of the tape.

Yeah, 3DO was a pretty bad bomb. I think it went down due to the price alone, didnt it? not to mention there just werent that many good games for it, many of them just being FMV games.

is interesting to see though, I think I recall scans of a 3DO ad or something on Protodude's corner before.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Interesting stuff! Seeing as the only known mentionings of the 3DO port of X3 (well, what I'm aware of, anyway) were in a catalogue and on that VHS tape, I doubt that version made it very far through development. The 3DO was definitely capable of handling that game, but I bet Capcom thought the port wasn't worth it, seeing as relatively few people owned the 3DO in the first place.

This makes me wonder, though: were there any other cancelled 3DO titles that Capcom worked on? The notion of Capcom making Rockman/Mega Man games for the 3DO (as well as other well-known Capcom games, like the original Vampire/DarkStalkers or Street Fighter Alpha/Zero) intrigues me...
