General / Trying to help a friend out. Assistance?
« on: February 09, 2014, 10:19:52 PM »
I am posting this message on behalf of a user by the name of Trinitronity, who is trying to get authorization/validation, or whatever requirement to get signed up on this board. Here's what he's saying on another message board that he's currently signed up on.

Quote from: Trinitronity
Well, hello again.
I'm not sure, whenever that is the right place to post, so please tell me, whenever that is the right place or not.
Eitherway, I'm trying to sign up to a MegaMan forum called "Rockman Perfect Memories".
However, I'm already waiting around 2 months for my account to get validated...
...and the worst thing: I cannot even contact any mods in this forum, since I don't even know, who actually IS a mod, just because of the new titles they came up with (Cyberelf, Robot Master, Neo Arkadian, someone even has the title "RPM Ecchi Princess", and I have no idea, what kind of title THAT is).
So I would like it, if someone could help me there...
Thanks in advance!

I already checked the spam folder, but no luck...
I have at least deleted the cookies, and now, I get this:
Quote
That email address (smcs@online.de) is being used by a registered member already. If you feel this is a mistake, go to the login page and use the password reminder with that address.

And that is only a small improvment, because the reason why I tried to sign up again, was that I'm waiting already 2 months for my actual account to get validated...

Here's his situation.

Quote from: Trinitronity
Well, I have a MegaMan 3 hack, which I would like to showcase at RPM.
Because of that, I have signed up. Everything went well at first, and VixyNyan told me to wait until my account gets validated.
After that, the actual problem started: My account didn't got validated. And I'm already waiting for the validation, and I don't want to screw up anything...

So, I am posting this message wondering if this person has had any past issues with this board? Has he been banned at least once, or is his account really still under authorization/validation process? I'm curious as to why it's taking more than 2 months for him to get registered on a forum.

I guess it's going to be hell to play Pokemon Heart/Gold or whatever into Pokemon B&W, or B&W 2, then over to Poke Transfer, then to pokemon bank just for pokemon like Rayquaza, or Lugia, or Ho-oh. I don't understand why they couldn't support older games that have exclusive pokemon not found on other games.  :-/

So Pokemon Bank is out everywhere, including NA. So go ahead and grab it, get transporter, and your free Celebi. :)

I thought once you had 4 or 5 max hearts, you didn't need to play with your pokemon anymore, or couldn't get any more souvenirs after getting max hearts. Unless the hearts go down if you lose battles, but I haven't really checked this.

Instead of doing the normal thing and just going straight to the bank. Which is why they blew their servers up. Further proof that Nintendo doesn't know how to internet.

Wait..... Nintendo knows how to build consoles, they know how to make games, yet.... They don't know how to run the internet? lol. XD

Also, I want to say that some similar thing happened when they tried to introduce the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB for those that needed internet, only for it to get banned by some states, or something.

So yea. I guess they don't know anything about the internet. :P

I'll just leave this here.

I stopped playing the game for a while. Is this some woman that just randomly appears post game? Or do you actually find her somewhere? I don't recall battling her, but it's been a while though. :P

Emulation / Re: Best Arcade SFII Hack, Ever?

Yes. To be exact, the way they were programmed in the original SFII World Warrior is much more different than the way you could play tas hem in SFII'CE. :)

Here's the info about the Boss differences for anyone who does NOT know.

* M.Bison/Vega (Dictator)
 - All attacks use fierce punch sound effect.
 - Psycho Crusher only hits once. Beginning frame lasts a little longer before flying forwards.
 - Scissor Kick/Knee Press is a single Fierce Kick attack rather than a special move.
 - Slide is used with standing light kick, instead of crouching strong/fierce kick.
 - Head Stomp links either into a Skull Dive, or a Reverse/Backwards kick, exclusive to SF2-WW.
 - Crouching Punch attack is missing recovery frames.

* Balrog/M.Bison (Boxer)
 - Has a stationary Turn Punch special move.
 - Standing Medium & Fierce Punch attacks are reversed as morre known from Champion Edition.
 - Missing a tripping attack.
 - Missing throw frames.

* Sagat
 - Standing punch animations are reversed.
 - Tiger Shot throw frames have shorter recovery times.
 - Missing a tripping attack.
 - Missing throw frames.

* Vega/Balrog (Claw)
 - Guarding has no stand frame.
 - Climbs on invisible cages on a stage.
 - All crouching kicks trip opponents.
 - Rolling Claw only rolls once, no matter which button is suppsoedly pressed.
 - When claw is attached, most stand/crouch attacks usually miss opponents when walking against their bodies.

So yea. A lot of M.Bison's attacks in this are World Warrior exclusive, which this hack will allow us to play the bosses this way. :)
It seems like it's unreleased hack from what I can tell from doing research. But I don't know what they're waiting for to release it. It looks finished to me.

Whoever is working on this CPS1 arcade hack of SFII, is a [tornado fang]ing, BRILLIANT GENIUS!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=clvsCcRsWAE - Boxer
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VR9IsP8Ceg - Claw
www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGN5CN5XwcI - Sagat
www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEImaHiR9NU - Dictator

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDXX-o1lEB4 - Dictator again, different video uploader.

I don't know who it is, but I think this is the best SFII World Warrior Hack I have ever seen in my life. These videos seem to look like the hack is 100% finished. Yet, there is little to no information of this particular hack in progress. I'm trying to do more research on the author(s) of this hack, but all I picked up are SNES hack versions, or older unfinished hacks like Yumeji's version. The videos above are the only things I can find about this particular Arcade SFII hack being in existence.

I'm not entirely sure why this hack being held back by a couple of people. I would really LOVE to play this hack. :)

Oh [tornado fang] YES! They're airing the special Mewtwo Awakening episode this coming weekend, along with an Encore airing of the new movie! :D

I've got the DVD that one of my parents gave me this past Christmas 2013. I haven't checked if the episode exists on it. But at least they're airing it. I was kind of worried we might missed out on something. But looks like they got us covered over here. :)

Though I still prefer 1st generation Mewtwo, but I'd watch anything that's a special event thing. :)

For anyone who cares about the movies, apparently they're airing a Digitally Remastered version of Pokemon Th First Movie on Cartoon Network this coming Saturday morning. Well..... For those who prefer first gen Mewtwo anyway. I'm not sure if there's going to be a huge difference in quality or what. But I've seen it more than enough times. I wonder if they mean the audio's going to be clearer, or a wide screen version or something I'm not sure. All I know is, Digitally Remastered version of 1st movie is coming on this weekend.

Nintendo have announced that they have temporarily removed Pokémon Bank from the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This is following hte massive influx of users on both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U coming on Christmas, plus the addition of Pokémon Bank causing the Nintendo Network to drive to a halt. This means users cannot download it anymore and currently cannot access the features of the game.. It is currently unclear when Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter will return, or if the western release is delayed. They have made it clear that the 30 day trial for previously registered users will restart when it returns.

Pokémon Bank is now listed with a release of TBD (To Be Decided) on the North American and European eShops. We'll bring details on this as soon as we can

Well........ Looks like we got screwed. :(

So, I leveled up Mewtwo all the way to 100, and learned that signature move he gets at this level, and got the footprint badge.
After that, I tried going through Elite Four again. Defeated them with only using Mewtwo, X mega evolution with Recovery, Psystrike, Psycho Cut, and Aura Sphere, with plenty of items. Despite the ineffectiveness on some of their pokemon, I'd say this was pretty okay. Also, I got mroe than 3,000,000 to spend on shops or whatever items in the game.

I wonder if I should try pokemon Y starting from beginning again for the case of new pokemon, and just transfer Y pokemon to X or something. Though I have both X and Y downloaded from eShop, I got a cartridge boxed pokemon X for christmas.

I've got a 3DS XL from before, and just got a 2DS this christmas. I wonder if I should see what happens if I register both of them as separate FC's and see what pops up in friend safari.

Also, Pokemon Bank apparently confirmed to not have solutions against hacked pokemon. :P

Finally able to find someone with butterflies in their safari, and caught a Beautifly. It's so, adorable in poke-amie! ^_^
Though it's funny when it's sleeping, floating in the air with its eyes looking wide open. XD

Does it really matter how it gets caught? The damage is done anyway. So if you're not going to say anything positive, then GTFO. :P

Yea, Dusk Balls, even in caves don't work 100% of the time. I think I tried a dusk ball once on Zygarde, it actually failed that one time.

It's interesting how that some of the pokemon in Amie don't look strait ahead. For example, some like Xerneas, and Charizard look like they're looking a bit right of you.

Anyway.........

Finally caught that freggin Zygarde this time..... First time today, tried with Shedinja, and the rest 5 of my party. Ultimate failure. Used up too many different pokeballs. I finally caught it after 20 something attempts at throwing all those pokeballs. I just decided to restart, and save up on pokeballs.

Second time after a restart, I caught it, came up with a better strategy with Mewtwo. Just kept using Mewtwo's Barrier and Recover, after I hit Zygarde until its HP was in the red. This was to make sure there was enough turns in battle for me to use a timer ball. Switched over to 6 of my other Pokemon, returned to Mewtwo. Then tried Timer Ball once or twice, didn't work. Tried using Luxery Ball, and some regular pokeballs then, still didn't work. Finally, tried one more Timer Ball, finally worked.

At least the last time, I still have a few more different types of pokeballs left over in my bag than I did the first time. But god it's a beast catching legendaries without a Master Ball. >_<

Is there anything else I can do in this game after elite 4? I find that some of the post game events seem a bit short. Have all the gen. games post-game events been short?

- Already did the Looker agency.
- Went through Friend Safari couple of times.
- Did Battle Mason on that island.
- Defeated rival 2 or 3 times.
- Got the ring upgrade.

I don't think I've found/seen all the pokemon in Kalos yet, but I don't think I'm going to try that. That seems like it would take too long.
- Still haven't caught Zygarde yet. Though judging from everyone elses experience, throwing multiple pokeballs just to catch it seems kind of a waste. I might try again if I ever find/win a Master Ball or something.
- Still haven't caught the legendary bird.
- I can't find a way to get under 00:10 seconds for the puzzle swapping minigame in Poke-Ami to get 5 stars and to get the rest of the difficulty settings. I think last I checked, still just up to normal difficulty, or something on this one.
- I fiddled a little more on Trainer PR Videos. Nothing much I can do with this since it's not fully customizable. Limited to a list of options there. Meh.
- Haven't bought any new clothes for my own trainer. I was never into player customization, since it doesn't effect game play.

Besides catching more pokemon, and the Pokemon Bank, doesn't seem like there's much else to do.  I feel like I'm almost getting bored with it now. I know there's some more things I could do here, but i don't know what kind of effort i want to put into the rest.

Though I could try battling someone online or something one day, but I really don't want to see any one in my party go out.  ;^;
