i notice now that we don't have an actual Guilty Gear thread. not that we're going to be needing one. just bear with me for a second.
i came across this picture while surfing Gelbooru. an awesome picture. but the other day, it got me thinking. what if the Guilty Gear cast were put into a high school setting?
i think it could work really well. just about every character could fit some high school sitcom archetype. of the ones pictured:
- Ky would be the goody-two-shoes pretty boy.
- Jam would be his "girlfriend", which actually means stalker.
- Millia would be the big sister type who all the younger female students admire and/or have yuri crushes on.
- Johnny would be the ladies man, hitting on every girl he sees. a lot like Johnny Bravo, really.
- May would be Johnny's little sister constantly trying to keep him in check.
- Potemkin would be the star football/rugby/[insert manly sport here] player.
- Anji would be the poser who thinks he's badass enough to walk around without a shirt on.
- Baiken would be the tsundere tough girl who's not afraid to wave her sword around.
- Chipp would be the slacker, using his ninja skills to ditch class.
- Faust would be the school nurse. and be terrible at it.
- Dizzy would be class rep. she'd probably have some moe points as well.
- and Kliff would be the founder of the school and/or principal.
those not listed:
- Zato would be the bully, and Venom would be his lackey. of course, Venom is gay for Zato, but Zato is oblivious to it.
- Axl would be the class clown.
- Sol would be the PE teacher who loves to shout and cuss.
- Testament would be the creepy science teacher.
- Slayer would be the language teacher with a strong passion for his work. especially poetry.
- I-no would be the music teacher with the huge libido.
- Robo-Ky would be the math teacher with a bunch of robotic tourettes-like ticks.
- A.B.A. would be the resident freak.
- Zappa would be the sickly kid who sees ghosts.
- Bridget would be the trap, of course.
and finally, because it would be genius, Justice would be Dizzy's kind, caring, and ditzy mother. she'd always be wearing a frilly pink apron over her battle suit. i can't be the only one that finds that sounding hilarious.

Sounds like you are giving the guys who made the series ideas, well, I'm sure they are pretty bored in office, trying to come up with a new idea.
And if they did, I bet'll parody one of the shittist High School Musicals of them all: High School Musical: The Musical. It would be an epic game to play.
-
They should combine Guilty Gear and Pachinko Sexy Reaction ALSO MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY SHAME ON YOU SAMMY.
-
Sounds like a bad idea for a high school romance anime to me.

Sammy publishes GG, Arc Systems develops GG.

close enough
-
I heard Pachinko Sexy Reaction...

I suddenly got the urge to go find my nearest Pachinko machine.

Alright, I've been playing this game for about four [tornado fang]ing hours and 3 of those have been on the [tornado fang]ing cheapest boss I have ever had the mis-[tornado fang]ing-fortunte of ever dealing with. Justice ranks right up there with [tornado fang]ing Igniz in that list of bosses that aren't even about skill, its about spamming.
Basically, does anyone got any tips on beating this [tornado fang]er so I can go ahead and get rid of this god damn game?
And yes, I swore alot. I'm [tornado fang]ing pissed.
-
I beat her with Sol. No tricks. I just kept fighting and fighting until I beat her. Rejoice, it's great training. You'll be better once you're done.
Do tell, did you suffer through two whole Gamma Rays? I did. That's nasty.
-
Well, it took me the better part of nearly 6 hours, but yeah, I finally pulled it off. My entire body just lost all tension when everything slowed down and I saw 'SLASH' for the second time in my favor.
Gamma Rays the special Justice likes to hit you with the very momemt your dizzy? I often found my self get two pink lasers to the face, dizzied and then *GAMMA RAY'D*. I can't think of anytime I managed to survive two, even with a whole Chaos bar and using Block + R.
-
Judging by your statements, I take it that GG's bosses are a touch above the dreaded "SNK Boss Syndrome?" I never did get far in fighting games, and bosses like them are major reasons why. :\
-
No, not all.
Just Justice.
-
I have to wonder who's cheaper: Justice, or the son-of-a-[sonic slicer] from Arcana Heart. Is GG (PSX) the only one with Justice as the boss? or just the only version with Justice as a cheap-ass boss?
-
Justice's only appearance as the canon boss.
I-No can be a pain too with her sodomizing, screen-filling, health-robbing, can-use-any-time-special though. But she's not nearly as bad as Justice.
Oh well I heard Order Sol was up there too, but I can't confirm that due to a lack of experience.
Here's a nice video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_KJkBKdt8g)
That's one of Japan's best Eddie players, fighting a Level 999 Golden Order Sol (survival mode). First he seems to be winning, and he's doing well. Then Sol gets his comeback...

And here's Justice as the final boss of the original Guilty Gear (PSX). (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noHOzBDyQ2o)

I-No is an utter pansy, compared to Justice.
Her main claim to fame is Megalomania (her "Danmaku" attack). To combat that, just utilize your Rockman-level skills to counter her patterns. If she does the screen-filling one, jump at the right time. And by NO means try to attack or jump over her while she's in the midst of this, or you're just asking for it.

Order Sol, on the other hand, CAN be a handful.
The main thing is, try to set him up so that he can't do [parasitic bomb]. Because the moment he's allowed to "Power Up", is when he's really able to [twin slasher] your face. He gets free Tension, free Max/Lvl3 stock charge, and the AI has the tendency to bust out that "Deadly Rave"-like Overdrive, which, as you just saw, will quickly tear your lifebar asunder.
I've never been able to reach Gold Order Sol in Survival...but seeing how that player was just MOMENTS away from owning him...that hurt me to watch... ;O;

I am totally dreading each and everyone of those fights and am hugging Omega Rugal for security
-
heh...
I wonder how the final bosses will be like for KoFXII and BlazBlue~
-
BlazBlue~
... The normal boss or the REAL boss?
-
Boss Ragna of course~
-
AKA that animu fighter everybody on SRK forums hates because it looks like all those other shitty air-dashy animu fighters that Guilty Gear actually inspired. Unlike those however, this game requires quite a bit of dedication to get good at. Which is probably why nobody plays it anymore. :\
-
WHY ARE YOU SAYING "ANIMU [insertsomethinghere]" SO MUCH?! Can't you drop the "animu" part?
Anyway.
I enjoy playing GG X2 for PC. I often play with my friend, who comes over sometimes. Altough not so much lately, because I'm kinda bored of it.
I own both Isuka and X2 for PC. They gave both of them in a Polish PC gaming magazine CD-Action.
Crap.
Now I feel compelled to play this again. : /
Oh, and I mostly main Ky. Tough I tried to learn Johnny... and I didn't do too well.
-
Which is probably why nobody plays it anymore. :\
If you say so.
Anyways, I bow down to Daisuke's art, I love looking at it~
-

No, that'd be because they moved over to Blazblue.
Anyways, I like the Guilty Gear games, I really suck at them though.
-
I had XX Reloaded (or something like that) on my PC for a while. I don't think I ever completed a single challenge.
-
I main Sol Badguy. Yes I'm that boring. But playing him makes me feel like a hardass. And that's what videogaming is all about.
Oh yeah and... didn't we have a GG thread already?
-
I main Dizzy in any of the games she's playable in. ^^
If not, I pick Jam and May.
-
I pick Chipp, Millia or Zato/Eddie. Dizzy, Anji, and Ky are ok too.
In XX#R I have cleared almost half of challenges (the first half, I always do stuff in order), and I got to the lv. 200 in Survival.
-
Speaking of survival levels:

I would have broken my controller in sheer rage.
I've not touched a Guilty Gear game since I beat Justice. ..Well, that's a lie. I downloaded that double PSP game with the Guilty Gear beat'em up. Judgement? I didn't even get into it, though. I was just like "[tornado fang] this".
-
XD @ that vid. Ahhh, yes...
Any way, there's still a thing about ol boy Ishiwatari swears that a new PS3/360 bound Guilty Gear game is on the way. More than likely, it probably will be a follow-up to Overture than anything else...but we'll see! 8D
-
No, that'd be because they moved over to Blazblue.
Exactly. Even though Guilty Gear is clearly the superior game, people dropped it and went straight to BlazBlue because it is so braindead easy in comparison.

Oh, you have #R on the PC? well I have good news for you: a reason to start playing it again!
