Title: News Roundup: October 3 - October 10
Post by: Protodude on October 10, 2009, 04:44:58 PM
Maverick Hunter, Powered Up Coming To PlayStation Store On Oct 29/Nov 5?

Last week, Capcom Unity posted (and removed) a blog entry (http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2009/10/0/updated_psn_umd_legacy_capcom_titles_release_dates) announcing the release dates of several PSP UMD Legacy titles heading to the PlayStation Store, Maverick Hunter X and Mega Man Powered Up, included:

    * October 15: Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max
    * October 22: Capcom Puzzle World
    * October 29: Maverick Hunter X
    * November 5: Megaman Powered Up

Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/07/capcom-dates-promised-psp-umd-legacy-titles/), seeking to confirm the legitimacy of these release dates, spoke with Capcom's Chris Kramer:

"titles are correct and the dates should be fairly accurate." He added, "it's "hard to pin down digital release dates almost until they happen."

Sounds reasonable to me.  So, what about pricing? No word on that just yet, but if previous Capcom UMD Legacy titles are any indication, a $19.99 price point is likely.

Bonus Sports Cup With Purchase of OSS

Those who pre-order Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star through E-Capcom (http://www.e-capcom.com/ec/cmLastProduct/doProductLink/1/1/A10001963/10/10/cmLastProduct/) will receive a limited edition sports drinking cup.  Oh, and this isn't your run-of-the-mill cup either: the image of the two Rockmen on the side of the cup changes to a blue color when cold contents are poured in.

Otaku Offers DASH 2 Art Book, Soundtrack

Online shop Otaku.com is currently accepting orders for the Rockman DASH 2 "Capcom special selection (http://otaku.com/cgi-bin/itemview.asp?itemid=78209z)" art book for $29.95. The 32-page booklet is chock-full of official and conceptual artwork, some of which contain unseen character designs.

What of the soundtrack? Well, in a rather peculiar move, Otaku has decided not to bundle the "free" 17 track soundtrack with the book; instead, it's being offered separately (http://otaku.com/cgi-bin/itemview.asp?itemid=78208y) for $29.95.

29.95 for an artbook? that's a fair price, I might get it when I (eventually) get a credit card.

Dammit, to accept the ripoff, or not to accept the ripoff?  I have the DASH soundtracks ripped already, it just stinks to have the package split up like that. O:<

I guess I'll give it a little while to see if any other import shops aren't so cheapass.  If no luck, then I'll get the book.
