Really [tornado fang]ing stupid that the CPP isn't compatible. There's no excuse.

Presumably they want the IR port reserved for the NFC add-on.  I can't imagine there's any reason a single game couldn't support both add-ons, but it'd be impossible to actually use both at the same time.

Doesn't make any difference to me; second stick in Smash Bros. is something I always considered pointless.  And it's not as if the CPP is known for its widespread support, either; its a clunky and minimally marketed device that only serves to make your system less portable as a compromise to people who just can't live without a second analogue input.  Even had the New 3DS not been announced I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised to see CPP unsupported by Smash.

A lot of people are actually saying the New 3DS will have a distinct advantage with that little nub. Sure, not being able to use the CCP isn't that big of a deal, but with C-Stick like functionality for the N3DS' nub, you can do smash attacks in any direction without affecting your aerial momentum, which is a large advantage in the right hands. Especially if what people are saying about now being able to charge your Smash attacks with the Gamecube Controller's C-Stick (or an equivalent) on the Wii U version are true, instead of only being able to charge through the normal methods.

Same, and so I can give my brother my old 3DS so he can get his own games and doesn't have to borrow mine.

Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

So, Vixy, and anyone else here packing a japanese 3DS..
The game got a Japan-only eShop demo. Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man and Villager (Murabito) are playable, and it's barebones with only 4 costumes per character and apparently only Battlefield.. But for what it is, people are going bananas.

I know a few folks are streaming it, but i'm having hard times finding links.

EDIT: This might help.

SECOND EDIT: So anyone that thought the Villager's Pocket special would be amusing have no idea. Their Up-B recovery is pretty ridiculous too.
If it's a projectile or counted as an item and it isn't a Final Smash, odds are you can pocket it. Chopped Villager trees, watering can water, bombs, bananas, Pikachu Thunderbolts (their color and sound glitched), charged Mega Buster shots, Hard Knuckles, Leaf Shields (even if not thrown), Rush himself and other factors. If it's a timed object, like a Bomb or Rush, their timer is reset with each pocketing, and you can re-pocket them too. And testing with pocketed charged Buster shots seem to of resulted in around double the normal damage. Not everything is as effective, though, and some pocket-thrown objects don't even flinch people on impact (Air Shooter). And not only is the grab for the Pocket packing a large hitbox - if something's infront of you, it's pretty much grabbed - you seem to have invulnerability frames during it.
How do you like it thus far, Vixy?

Also...I'm really shocked about Rockman's victory theme.

The most I can tell from everything so far, including Vixy's gameplay, is that it's inbetween Brawl and Melee in terms of physics and gameplay, and the heavier leanings towards one side or the other depends on the character. Mario and Link definitely got buffed, not sure about Pikachu, while Mega Man and the Villager are certainly unique in their options.

The latter two are going to take some getting use to, as they play styles are completely different.

Also, rumor has it that we're going to find out the Wii U game's release date this Friday.

Nintendo already shot that rumor down. I mean we could still get it, but I'm not counting on it. I am expecting to get dat demo this Friday though, or at least find out when it'll be available then.

Also a bunch of alt costumes

@Nexus: Well they said they were aiming for somewhere between Brawl and Melee so I guess they did it.

Why would we get the demo on Friday? The eShop updates on Thursday.

Stranger things have happened, and for an actual game release the eShop will update on off-days.  That they'd do so for a demo of one of their biggest titles is certainly conceivable.

DLC's even been uploaded on off-days before. The Thursday thing is mostly a guideline, it's not a hard rule.

I know that certain games update on off-days; and that's usually because their release date dictates it be an off-day.

All I was wondering was why you thought the demo would release on a Friday, as opposed to the normal update schedule.

I mean it could happen, but note I also admitted that we might just find out when the demo will be up.

Also I was referring to the recent MK7 update, which was on a Wednesday and brought with it the Mercedes DLC. And that was an off-day.  Not sure how the game's release date dictates it was an off-day there.
