I still don't like that logo. Nevertheless, the pixel transition is pretty well done there. The "me" from Megaman are on another color, but that might be a small slip-up

It took me longer than I thought and my scanner hates colors. But never theless here's my idea of Rock's upgraded armor. Nothing too drastic I hope.

It will be really hard to translate those details into the sprite though. And as for the armor subject, I liked the ones from Megaman 6/7 a lot, so as long as they are treated that way, and not like the X series where you have to collect each piece (I don't think that would fit on an 8bit Megaman for some reason) then all is good.

Did they make the game less of a d**k?
No, they didn't! Still fun though

Oh, cool! I thought they finished that hack already, it's good to see they were still fine-tuning it :)

So it's a different color? Hmm...

I really hope Vanisher changes that since black and white doesn't do anything good for characters like this.
I have to agree with MrBaryl, black and white on Megaman characters with the nes style is pretty bad. The design alone is enough to set the sprite apart from Ballade's, I don't see why that would be a problem.

The character looks nice, but it SEEMS to be a bit too big though, I would have to see it side-by-side with Megaman, but well... I'm lazy to check that myself.

Maybe wooden crates don't belong in the year 20XX, lol.
As funny as it sounds, I think that could be the reason actually XD. Besides some very few natural materials (like rocks or plants), the rest are metalic things most of the time. I think it would look better with making some metalic containers, or if you want to keep the wood boxes, make them look a bit more advanced...somehow.

Hard to say exactly why, but the boxes don't look really Megaman-ish either.

So you have a tablet but you draw with your mouse? Why?

Oh, I see. Well, either way, if you ever start practising with your drawing, I would suggest you do that with the pencil, drawing with a mouse is really lame and unnatural, especially when you're trying to make linearts with those.

And since we are on that subject, what program are you using to draw? This kind of stuff (and with a mouse) would be easier with a vector illustration program like Illustrator or even Photoshop.

Are you drawing with a tablet or a mouse? Either way, I would encourage you to draw with the good old pencil and paper, since it is much more easier to draw that way, and after that just scan and add colors.

And if your pencil stuff look as bad as your digital drawings (sorry, but they DO look childish) then I would encourage you to stop drawing this Megaman stuff and start studying a bit of anatomy, there are a lot of these stuff around the internet if you're not willing to buy a book. That is if you're serious about improving your skills.

EDIT: Just saw that Storm Woman sketch... yeah, study some anatomy, that's the only way to get convincing proportions.

That sounds like the Simpsons episode where Homer got the hair transplant from Snake.

About the circles on SAI, there is an indirect method to make those. I'm adding a video explaining the weird process.

A teddy bear-themed sub boss for Gothica, huh?

I've got a curious question to ask about that idea. Do teddy bears fit with the gothic theme?

Why not?

All of your drawings are leaning to the right. It's a pretty common issue for beginners, and the only way to fix it is to keep drawing until you get it right. And Zero's detached hand is huuuuge, although I'd like to believe that was on purpose, but it still looks weird.

Can't really give any more crits than those, the sketches are okay, could be better if you showed different poses and characters, they all look kind of the same.

As for sprites, I'm not much of a spriter, so i can't crit on that properly, but there are a few things that could be improved more. Your attempts at the new Zero sprites have the feet screwed up, and as for X, the helmet looks pillow-shaded and lacks contrast. The perspective on Zero mugshot looks really weird too.

Welcome to the site btw!

I see, maybe we shouldn't put this project into high gear, especially with the music. I apologize.

BTW, I'm now working on the script. Now currently working on the prologue scene.
No need to apologize about that, I'm just giving an honest opinion, you haven't done anything wrong :P

It would be easier to get someone to help once you can show a more finalized work, as there are a lot of Megaman fangames flying around lately, and it starts to get hard to discriminate between the ones that have potential and the sudden random ideas that'll get nowhere.

42
Umm, I don't know 'bout this but HertzDevil might be MexicanSunflower. Oh, and try contacting Kevvviiinnn if he's interested on this project.

And yes, there will be dialogue before the fight.
In my humble opinion, i think it still too soon to start asking for the music. Really, the original engine isn't even done. Plus, without graphics and such, there are very slim chances that someone will help you.

And lastly, I THINK Kevvviiinnn didn't wanted to make anymore Megaman tunes, at least for now.

I wasn't able to try any new design for now, so I'll just post Rave's fix. I'm not sure if you wanted to get rid of the hat or not, so for now I left it like that.

Oops, missed that post. I'll see what I can do about him later then.

Flash isn't for online stuff exclusively, they can be exported as EXE files too.

I tried my hand at Mariachi and Rave.

It is allowed, but those hijacks are generally rude and annoying. Everyone around here has probably seen that thread already, so there's no point in asking for recruitment on the same site, you'll get better results by asking somewhere else :\

You are making all the RMs as plump girls. While I don't really have anything to argue about that (to each their own), it wouldn't be such a bad to add some variations on the character's build.

The game looks pretty fun, and I can't help but wonder how the hell do you make homebrew games for PS, since I rarely see that done, so kudos to you on that too.

One Piece's anatomy is fine, I don't get what you're talking about there.

You don't seem to understand what it means to have "good anatomy", respecting the anatomical rules doesn't mean that you have to turn every single character you make as if it were a Vitruvian Man, with perfect proportions everywhere.

I said it already, if you want to mess up with anatomy, you have to make it in a way that makes sense, and for that you must know what's under every character's skin.

Take Mickey for example (or pretty much any Disney character for that matter). The mouse almost looks like he is made of rubber, has a big ass head, hands and feet, and a small body. Now, you think that's wrong? No. Why? Because the proportions are damn well handled, because even though he almost looks like he is made of rubber, he has a bone structure underneath him. That's why you don't see him making weird poses like that character of yours.

Anyway, gotta go, I'll keep going latter.

K, I'm back, so I'll make one small addition to what I was saying before.

While looking for Mickey pics, I found a pose that looks pretty close of what you tried to make with your character.

Look the way the hips are, how the whole body looks balanced, and if you try the pose, it's not uncomfortable at all (that's more important as you may think, uncomfortable poses ALWAYS look really fake and unnatural), and those are pretty much all of the things we tried to critic on your drawing, but blatantly ignored with your lame excuses.

Ok, this is going nowhere...

Next time only post that you want to hear some feedback when you're actually ready to take it, right now you're completely ignoring us, and I just don't feel like wasting my time on this anymore.

We already pointed out the flaws, if you feel like taking our crits into account, then read our previous posts, everything we have to say about your drawing has been said already.

Do as you please.
