The 1st playthrue is pretty boring since it's linear, but it gets way better in the 2nd. and even better on the 3rd. There's 3 different story paths in all. And also everything you have at the end of the game carries over via NG+.

Be sure to get the Gurren Kai parts on that island that takes place around ep.17 of the show. Also you can get Gawain a lot sooner in the 2 and up playthrues.

Got my PSP last, last monday, and IHX came in on thursday......whores!!! They changed the location of the dash boots, and it completly ruins my routine for the armor parts. I got to the sigma stages without any of them. I thought I'd at least get the Z-Buster, but they change all the sigma levels as well!

-Shield Guard from the Seed Vs games has been reinstituted; as in Alliance vs ZAFT, it's performed by quickly tapping Down, then Up.
-Melee attacks have also been changed to the Seed Vs style, where your attacks depend on how you hold the lever rather than your current state (standing, dashing, airborne, etc). Interestingly, holding Up and pressing Melee seems to make you do your Boost Dash Melee.
-NEXT Dash: Performing a second Boost Dash in the middle of a first one will give you a great speed boost (including changing directions), but only for about 3-4 MS lengths. It can also be used to quickly cancel attacks. It costs 1/5 of the boost gauge to use.
-The window of opportunity to punish enemies as they land seems to be bigger. You'll have fewer options while landing, meaning it's harder to protect yourself.
-HP seems to be reduced all around.
-G-Crossovers are gone, but no other form of Awakening has been instituted yet.
-If you land the attack that ends a fight, you get a cut-in of your character.
