Title: Achievements.
Post by: Flame on January 15, 2010, 01:33:17 AM
If we got an X9 or Command Mission 2, them we might get achievements like 9 got. (and like 10 might)
Now, Im not usually one for achievements, but I find that making them up would be somewhat fun.

So, make up some achievements for a potential X9 or CM 2!

X9
Last Wily Number: Clear the game as Zero
World's One true hope: Clear the game as X.
Shapeshifting infiltrator: Clear game as Axl.
The war begins again: defeat intro boss.

The Madness Within: Clear all bosses as Ultimate Armor X. (name the X reference!)
New Generation Heir: Clear all Bosses as White Axl.
Awakened killer: Clear all bosses as Black Zero.

Borderline Maverick: leave no stage enemy alive.
Pacifist: kill no stage enemies.
Inheritor of the name ROCKMAN: clear the game as X with no damage.
Variable Weapons system: clear all bosses with special weapons
New generation Reploid: Collect DNA cores (as Axl) from all collectible enemies.
Maverick Hunter's Might!: clear game
Rookie Hunter: Clear the game on EASY Difficulty setting
Supreme Maverick Hunter: clear game 100%
Ultimate Maverick Hunter: Clear the Game on HARD Difficulty Setting
Savior: rescue all reploids

If double attack is available,
The power of teamwork: Clear the game with a double attack
The Strongest S Rank combination in the world!: Clear all bosses with double attacks

Since CM had that bracket thing at the end of a chapter boss, let's give it a shot.

CM

Speed Reader: Complete each chapter under 5 hours.
Shopping Spree: Buy out all shops before the last four chapters.
Ultimate Alliance: Use all party member's hyper modes and trigger Final Strike on Last Chapter boss.
Marathon Runner: Clear Chapter 4 within 10"00"01.
Enemy Ahniallatior: Kill 100 enemies.
Enemy Destroyer: Kill all bosses under a minute.
Weapons Perserver: Do not use any WE skill.
Genocide: Kill 250 enemies.
The Mafia: Defeat the last boss with three "theif-class" members.
The Hunters: Play throughout the last leg of the game with X, Axl, and Zero.
Perv: Defeat 10 enemies with X and two other female characters.

I might have more... X.x

"Naked X"?

Command Mission doesnt have armors. It has hyper modes. One of them you already have, and the second you get in one whole piece. (and they only last for a certain number of rounds)

I quoted the wrong person. Meant to quote Flame with X9. I know CM didn't have armor. Just the Hyper mode and the 2nd version of the Hypermodes

Fixed post.

My gripe with Achievements is that they don't actually do anything.  It's like taking an unlockable and removing the reward, a means without an end.  If I'm going to play some praise-worthy playstyle for no reason other than playing some praise-worthy playstyle, I'd much prefer a user-defined one than have the developers define one without bothering to define a reward.

Then again, I enjoy my shiny EX Finish icons in X8 as much as the next guy.  *shrugs*  I guess I just consider an entire checklist of such things to be excessive.

Well, the names and "achievement" are usually interestingly named, and that's what this thread is about. I find Achievemtns as pointless as the next guy, but they are fun to come up with.

In mass effect they do something. they have affects associated with them which can be used in the new game plus. In halo if you get 1000 points you get a katana. Its just not many people do stuff with them

FYI I am a Maverick - Get killed by Sigma
HAX! -  Defeat Sigma and his 2nd form without taking damage

I'd think of more, but it's just about 10:30 over here, and I need SLEEEEEEEP.

For some reason, I always thought beating a boss with their own weapon would be a nice achievement (a good name being "Hoist by his own Petard"). Another nice one would be beating the bosses in reverse weakness order, as in, Spark Mandrill -> Chill Penguin -> Flame Mammoth, etc.

Firstly how can you get the acheivement for beating all bosses with special weapons when you start off with none unless you mean the 2nd time. That or a New Game+ allowing you to keep all of your weapons. I answered my own question.

An acheivement for no armor?
"Blue-Bomber"
"Blue Suede Shoes"
"Original is always best"
"A love so blue"
Iunno names aren't my thing. Also i hope someone gets the last one...

Clearing the game without Charge shots-
Clear the game using only charged shots- "Not a Charged shot!!"
Defeat all bosses with Zero's in the air rolling slash- "You spin me right round"
Perform Axl's rolling dodge 50 times during a level. -"Roller coaster"
Finish a boss during A-Trans.- "The worst kind of minion..."
Finish all bosses during A-trans. -"Copycat!"
Never listen to your navigator. -"Typical male."
Bring ALia on all missions as your navigator. -"Blondes are more fun."

I'm done.

i hope to make lots of achievements on my megaman odyssey rom hack throughout the future to be based on having to do certain events and stuff that would hopefully be interesting.

Not like megaman 9 how more than half of them are always "xxx and beat the game" i really didn't like the idea how most of them always require beating the game.

http://www.a3share.com/members/1119/MMC5ExAttMegaMan3-164.png - like this one i made.
and i plan on wanting to make "entomber" be this one i mentioned in my mm odyssey thread how you'd gotta push some tombstones around to cover up spots where enemies may pop out of the ground from, just some fun little things like that. :)
