The BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation anime studios are animating Halo Legends, a DVD anthology of seven short films based on Microsoft Studios' Halo game franchise. Microsoft's creative staff is approving the visual and storytelling. Two of the creative directors are Frank O'Connor of 343 Industries and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed). Aramaki's short will cover the history of the Spartan warrior class from the games. Studio 4°C will animate two 30-minute shorts about "the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe."

Warner Brothers will release the anthology on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and digital distribution in early 2010. A trailer is planned for the Halo panel at San Diego's Comic-Con International on Thursday, and Xbox 360 users can see a preview this fall on the Xbox Live service.

Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight must have been quite successful. But Halo as an anime? I say it might work. The Haloid fanmovie proved that I guess.

Need sexy anime Cortana.

What's a Halo game/book/anime without Cortana? XD

That visual of the chief looks great suprisingly.. hold on a minute, does that say 1337 on the right chestplate? hah.

I do not actually think that's any official artwork. It was the picture posted on Kohaku, which is where I saw the news on first. It'll eventually be replaced with footage from the Trailer, so rest assured.

Not sure if want. I'm not very familiar with the Halo plot beyond the "lol flood awakened, destroy the universe" thing, but I can't really name a good video game-based anime right off the top of my head.

Hmm, well, Bones has always been pretty good with churning out some good stuff, so I think that this might work.

Trailer's off to a good start, let's see if they can keep up with the Batman: Gotham Knight animated shorts that was done by several artists. and Red VS Blue.

The preview's okay, but the guy they are sending reminds me of Cowboy Bebop for some odd reason. :/

Voices sound good. Their acting is good too.
I might just watch this. (And I was never really a fan of the games)

We have something in common then. *high-fives*

I played the game once. A pal brought his 360 with him on one of my Robotics team outings to Long Island. in the hotel we played it, and I could not for the life of me get the hang of it. Plus, I see Halo as overrated.

Its good, but its just not my cup of tea.

I did recognize that giant hammer as one of the weapons in the game though. XD

I'm not a fan of the Halo games, either. But this has got me curious.

What are the odds of this series getting a European DVD release?

Exactly. My enthusiasm for this is now dead.

At 3:46, how is anyone still able to make a sound after getting their neck snapped?

I would say pretty high.

Since it's Halo, more than likely it's get a world wide release eventually .

Hopefully people will play more ODST after getting stuff from Way point.

Apparantly the reason The Babysitter looked like [parasitic bomb] was because it was from TOEI.

Now Bones on the other hand....

Sorry Amuro and Setsuna, but random spartan is clearly the best, and best pilot for Gundam.

Also, It has a [tornado fang]ing I-Field.

You could always find suicidal people to test that on.

experimentation always gives answers.

anyways, saw Babysitter in this...Halo Waypoint thing my brother got.  Liked it.

Halo Waypoint is just a thing on LIVE made to track your stats. mainly for 3, WARS, and ODST. Most of us got to the highest milestone instantly since it only requires 2900GS. The average payer has around 3500 from all 3 games.

Agreed. Halo isn't a bad series, but holy [parasitic bomb] do people go nuts over it. Apparently the inner frat boy in people is big enough to warrant a bunch of sales and one game literally saving a system (IIRC the original xbox had NOTHING going for it, the best games on it were DOA3 and the Oddworld game until Halo showed up, and even THEN there were few other games that sold well on the thing that couldn't be found on the PS2). The whole rant is for another thread though, but I wouldn't mind the Halo anime/cartoon/whatever if it didn't focus on Master Chief and developed some other characters (admittedly I only saw the 5 minute preview on this thread so I have no clue if there are more episodes up or what, and if so, where to find them; my 360 doesn't connect online so I can't get anything on XBL).

The main issue with the original box was the system itself and also lack of eleven support. Which the 360 has a lot more of. Though it just doesn't do well because of it being an American product. (lol ereven pride)

Even the top people at Famitsu have openly stated that the Halo games are great when it comes down to it, and that the  360 is so far in the lead when it comes to evolving the gaming market. (connectivity and media on a world wide scale)
