So, I want to draw my original characters, who dress like they dressed in the Victorian Era... but, I simply don't have any good references for the clothes. I looked on Google, but not much has been found. I would like a "design sheets" collection of the clothes, but if that's asking too much, then at least I need a gallery of the costumes, where they show them from all important sides and are quite detailed.

Can someone help me out with this? Even my huge Google-Fu is not helping.

Check for Victorian fashion books at your local library.

Well, I can do that. Tough I have the feeling they won't have it. Because I live in small city. ALSO, POLAND LOL.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. : >

Also, books on Civil War Era fashions will help, along with Googling for images.  The era is the same, the fashions are relatively interchangeable.  Victorian England tends to be a bit more lacy than American Victorian fashions, but the overall style is remarkably similar.

Some examples:

Also, Victorian and Edwardian are relatively interchangeable fashion eras as well.

Gothic Lolita is mostly victorian style, usually almost victorian outright. You could try some of that too. But if your character is a guy, then GL cant help there. there IS a guy equivalent, but...

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

If you can get hold of Mike Mignola's adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula, that has some nice references in it.  That was actually my biggest reference for a costume design project for my Intro to Theatre course.  League of Extraordinary Gentlemen would provide some nice references as well.

I'd laugh at their face if I saw someone like that. I mean, look at most of  those beards.

My High School Weightlifting teacher had a Franz-Josef.

Considering that I live in Gettysburg, where reenactments are a big tourist industry, I see mutton chops quite often.  And French Forks.  And Franz-Josefs.  And big burly reenactors dressed in wool uniforms during the summer.

Wow. That's a very manly place then.
