Wily beat Yoshi infinite times already, but Yoshi came back with extra lives and continues and only the run in which he finally succeeded was shown. Damn propaganda...

The most deadly thing Wily can muster is death traps in the floor, and Yoshi's gaming debut was a kick to the crotch for every villain who relies on those. Granted, that was toned down in exchange for axing his claustrophobia (necessary to enter Wily's fortress), but even so, flutter-kick pjwnz anything Wily can dish out. And whatever's invulnerable to that can be eaten.
That being said, the video is lacking in awesome for two reasons:
1. Use of YI:DS sprites. *gag*
2. The lack of SUPER DRAGON POWER!!!

Love the lil guy, but Yoshi can still, among other things, get crushed, die in a pit of magma/lava, plummet to his doom in a bottomless pit, or get eaten by something larger than him (like those bastard fish in Yoshi's Story).
If Wily got together anything similar to those, or better, Yoshi would be in a pickle...

I always did wonder about this in SMW.
Yeah, Yoshi, I can take you underground, or in underground pools of water, either of which can be quite cramped. I can also freely take you into the Sunken Airship, which is rife with ghosts.

May I remind you that Yoshi WAS eaten by something larger than him, egged the bastard frog's uvula silly, and......well, the exit I'm sure wasn't pretty, but he made it.
He can also (with good timing) eat Blargs, which are MUCH larger than him.
So, really...WTF is up with you, Yoshi?
Well, IIRC his "house" has no doors. So, I guess that's it? :\
I'm more concerned with why hot peppers bother him, but ReDeads and LikeLikes do not.

It wouldn't have been any more powerful than Search Snake against Gamma if it hadn't been for the bug that allows Top Spin to strike once every frame when you're blinking from a recent hit. That's also why people think its energy usage is "random", when it's actually just hitting an invulnerable enemy many times in a fraction of a second and using 1 unit each time.
All this investigation I'm doing to make damage charts is making me sound like a total nerd now.

Hot peppers aren't exactly Yoshi's favorite food, due to that they are.. Well, spicy. :\
