Actually these days they have loaders to boot ISOs from specially formatted USB storage devices.  Nevertheless, it takes more than HBC to load a modded Wii game, disc or no.  No backup loader, be they for burned discs or USB, will run without first installing a hacked/custom IOS.

I could swear I heard one time that much of Mewtwo's data was left in Brawl. All I've seen from clicking links in the topic is recolored Lucarios. Isn't there an actual Mewtwo skin?

Unused data found in Brawl is generally not salvageable (the "beta block" for Stage Builder being a notable exception).  What they're finding is not so much actual content but rather references to it.  So, looking at it, they can see that at some point Mewtwo was in there with a versus screen and a sound clip or two.  But none of that's actually in there, it's just part of some list.  So they can't actually rip it, much less use it.

Believe me, I would religiously stash, view, and daydream over any Brawl Mewtwo content/images/sound clips if it were out there.  And yeah, the recolored Lucarios are revolting.

I thought that folders containing bits and pieces of data for Roy and Mewtwo were found while rummaging through Brawl, which hinted that they were going to be included, but dropped before too long.
