So, after getting back into spriting and not getting much crit at Sprites INC I thought I'd post my latest creation here to see if I can get some more crit(not posting my old ones unless I decide to go back and work on them).

His name is Rhapsody, he plays like a mixture of Albus from CV: OoE and Axl. He'll gain a new main weapon and secondary weapon whenever he beats a boss. this is 100% scratch. No editing involved which is a surprise to me since that's what I almost always did. So, C+C please?

He's pretty colorful. Maybe too colorful.

You should narrow it down to one distinct color scheme.

Any suggestions on narrowing it down? I'm thinking the blue could probably be replaced but then he'd look alot like a Blues X.

I'd say shave the green, and go with an unused color scheme for this character in the style.. say, Maghony Red? Because from this standpoint he looks like a mixture of X and Axl, if it was intended to be like that.

Make several different color schemes and put them all on one sheet. That way you can compare them better and decide for which you want to go.

Well, I took your suggestion and made several(I think I went overboard) alt. color schemes. I think I'll use a few of them, albeit altered a bit, as some of his Weapon Gain color(s). Still, I'd like your opinion on what do you think his standard color scheme should be? Personally I like the top most Black one.

Edit- And Gaia, no it wasn't intended. I might actually add in some other Red Visor colors to the pickings. Let me take a look at how they might look.

They look decent, but here's the lowdown on how I think they will work..

- Purple visor's a good start, so I'd say we keep that

- Keep the brown (second to last color option), since I don't think many characters use that color (Unless I'm wrong)

- Then try to add another color from these choices if they look good with the brown

Ok, I'll do that Gaia, but one question, what brown? I didn't use any brown in any of those colors other than the background so I'm confused on which one you mean. I'll keep trying tho.

And I'll do that Sky, but not photobucket, I'll use Imageshack cause I can't stand Photobucket for some reason.

The brown for the primary color of the body, soon after, you can experiment with the secondary color, as well as the visor, and yes, I use tinypic for sprite uploading.

Looking at it I think either one of the top Green ones or the bottom white ones are the best, but again other opinions are good.

Jace ? Came here ? Wow, now its getting fun. Sprites-INC isnt hot anymore. Have fun there. Good sprites.

But you should remake the shades 'cause they dont really fit the X-X3 style.

They should since I took them straight from the original sprites.

And yea, it's fun there it's just that there is no real progression there anymore when it comes to spriting. No one really gives C+C anymore and when they do it's few and far between. I don't know how many times I've updated and it got ignored.

Edit-Or do you mean how I shaded them?

I know what you mean, It´s long ago since I got a C+C there.....The site isn´t the same since they removed the C+C and Party topic

Yeah, either that or sites like TSR, Inc, and MFZ are getting too good in thier respective styles.

And let's see the reference sprite used for the shades, it could be more help to crit on the shades.

Now that I think of it tho, I might've accidently reverted to the MMZ/ZX style shading since that's what I almost always did.  >U<

Orange x Brown? Good choice, and the pallete's 11 colors, not that many shades, it looks better now, head shape still bugs me though, must be the position of the eye.

I personally like the head shape. But anyway, after looking at that version for awhile I just couldn't get into it. I much prefered my previous Red, Blue and Green version. I think I fixed it tho so it works. And I'm not changing it now. Anyway, I also started work on his armor, It's a speed based one. I'll update the image itself with a detailed description of what each part does later. And if you're blind, the armor is a homage to one of the best characters ever created.

That and I've started work on an EXE Battle Chip image of my navi Ectoman. I know the background sucks right now but I'll fix it. I think the Edit there came out good tho. Comments?

Ok, I'm not sure if it's okay to double post if you have an update but if there's a problem I'll just delete this post and edit the last. Sorry in advance just in case.

Anyway, I've been working on a mock up screen(as well as bosses which I'll post as soon as I finish a sprite of them. This stage is Tesla Drake's tho) and I've finally got it set. Credit for the original background goes to BBD. I just edited it a bit. Thanks man  ;). Cain is there as a place holder, I'll make a different Scientist when I think of one. I've got an entire animation idea planned out in my head for the Armor equip. It's much different than X's. Anyway, comments?

Nice little capsule thing you got going on there. I've done tiles, and a crappy stage mockup once before. It looks decent so far.

Thank you. I'll continue to work on it when I have the inspiration for it.

Now, thanks to someone at SI I've started working on my 8-Bit Robot Masters again. This is the latest, Pulse Man.

Now, yes I know he's small but that's cause I designed him to be a small kid. That and just to clarify, he's Electricity based. Main Weapon- Static Pulse, which is a weapon very similar to the Metal Blades but slightly weaker but with the benefit of paralyzing.

I'll post the rest of my finished RM's when I finish the last four. Speaking of, which should I make next? Mirror Man, Glacial Man, Demo Man, or Sand Women?

Oh HAHA! It was the best I could come up with other than Blast Man... But yea, Demo Man is an explosion based RM. Blast Tower is his weapon of choice. I hope that explains him. So, who should I make and do I have any crit on Pulse?(btw Solar, what does your pulse look like? I'll laugh my ass off if they actually do look alike)

Yea, I can see how some might not look very Rockman-y but that's the best I could come up with for now. Besides, I think they'll still work. And believe it or not Speed, I made the Classic version of Ecto Man before I made him an EXE version. I just ended up posting the EXE version here first. Thanks for the comments tho, both of you.

I made a companion to Rhapsody and his partner, Chord(who I have not made yet). If you couldn't tell by the first word, it's name is Pew. I'm gonna try and make a bunch of Emotes for him but these are all I got right now. I don't have an animator so if someone could animate the non Emote sprites for me that would be great. Thanks in advance if anyone does.

Jeeze, what do I have to do to get a comment around here? Well, here is another revamp of my RM's. Mirror Man V2 and Ecto Man V3(won't show V2, eww...). I personally think it came out better but you know, some crit wouldn't hurt.

Thanks Speed, and here are two more. I know Demo still looks alot like his older version but that's cause I thought I actually did pretty well on it. Got the whole, construction worker look down without it looking more like Concrete Man.

I'm BACK! Well, after not having my comp for two months due to... circumstances... I have it now and am back spriting. I'll get back to those after I have my RPG Demo tested and out. But, since I need opinions, I need to know if these Overworld sprites on the right look like they'd work for my Malice char on the left.

I'm still new to this Overworld sprite style. Will get better at it eventually.

And yes, my RPG version of Malice will be a bit different. Doesn't need to look EXACTLY like my ZX version of him. Just mostly.

Demo Man V3. Modeling him after one of those old school Plungers they used to make Dynamite go BOOM! Still working on him and fine tuning him but I just wanted to try and validate my Boxyness for him. I mean, those plungers were blocky right? I'm trying to make him look like one of those with a face, arms, and legs. That's it.

Yea, I know. But you wouldn't believe how many times I hear TF2 jokes whenever this RM is mentioned. I couldn't think of a better name for a Demolitions expert that wasn't incredibly long.

Well, I just made a Mock-Up of what Explode Man's stage will be like. I know I suck at making Tile Sets but at least you all get his stage's Theme right?

Well, that came out of nowhere. :o

Not a bad tileset, though. Also, Explode Man's design looks neat (note to self: think of another name, for my time bomb-themed RM :|).

That said, is the Robo Runner's resemblance to MM2's Atomic Chicken intentional?

Yes. Yes it was. I used it as a base...  -u-' Made it easier to make but the only thinks that are from the original one is the body and tail. But yes, it's supposed to be a remodled version of the older one. Think of it as a V2.

GASP! My replacement for my old Sand Woman. She's supposed to be a damaged Wind-Up Doll based RM. No name for her yet but I know I'm not going with anything ballet related cause her weapon is nothing but a rebounding rideable gear(only goes<= =>) which will be used to get over some gaps.

I know I have a few things to fix, like her right arm (our left). and the Orange colors but still at least I got the idea down.
