News and Announcements / Closer Look: Rockman 10 Original Soundtrack
« on: March 25, 2010, 02:07:35 PM »
The original soundtrack for Rockman 10 is finally out.
There are so many things that comes with the package. Let's take a closer look.
Closer Look series:
- Rockman 10 Image Soundtrack
- Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero Mythos
The cover of the booklet tells us who is behind the design and packaging of the soundtrack itself, including the III Sound Create Unit, Official Illustrator Keisuke Mizuno and Guest Illustrator Shigeto Ikehara.
Flipping to the first page, we can see the full tracklist for the soundtrack. All the music has been composed by the III Sound Create Unit, except for a few select tracks. Here's a list of the guest composers.
08 GAME START by Manami Matsumae
09 KING OF BLADES (BLADE MAN STAGE) by Akari Kaida
10 POLLUTED PUMP (PUMP MAN STAGE) by Yuko Takehara
11 DESERT COMMANDO (COMMANDO MAN STAGE) by Minae Ojalin Fujii
12 ABSOLUTE CHILL (CHILL MAN STAGE) by Shusaku Uchiyama
13 CYBERSHEEP'S DREAM (SHEEP MAN STAGE) by Mari Yamaguchi
14 FIREBALL STRIKE (STRIKE MAN STAGE) by Makoto Tomazawa
15 NITRO RIDER (NITRO MAN STAGE) by Manami Matsumae
16 SOLAR INFERNO (SOLAR MAN STAGE) by Yasuaki Bunbun Fujita
18 STAGE CLEAR by Takashi Tateishi
The DLC music tracks are close to the end of the list, and Forte's Shop theme is shown here too. All the tracks right after track 16 were spoiler tracks, until either you beat the game and gained more info about DLC. And so, we knew that Wily was behind everything (again). And most of you were right: You could see a bit of Forte's helmet on those preview scans on the official site. Now you can see the heroes more clearly.
Flip to the next pages, you can see a summary of the Intro story for the game, and full body drawings of Blues, Rockman and Forte (who does the awesome hand gesture we know and love). If you look closely on the right side, you can see the heroic image of the game's Title Screen, and next to Blues, you can see Forte (Hm...). On the same pages, we can see commentary from Sound Producer & Designer Ippo Yamada, Game Producer Hironobu Takeshita and Game Director Hayato Tsuru, including their past work.
Flipping the pages some more, we reach the Boss Gallery, where all 8 robot masters shows up, along with background image of their stages, and details about the robot masters and their weapons. Fun to note that the moment the soundtrack list was first announced a couple of weeks back, the robot numbers were easy to figure out.
On the last pages of the booklet, there's a guest drawing from Shigeto Ikehara and commentary as well, telling us to "Have a Good Fun!". The last page details the main 3 composers of the III Sound Create Unit, and a little back story about them.
The back cover of the soundtrack package shows the Famicom cover for the game, along with a small tracklist. When turning that cover around, we can see a big pixelated globe.
The CD for the soundtrack shines brightly, along with a mix of orange and black colors stretched across it. The sprites for the robot masters are here too, with the first 4 on the top, and the last 4 on the bottom.
Inside the booklet, there was a extra paper sheet flying out of it. This shows a list of Inti Creates' past Rockman soundtracks, with a little commentary and different header for each of them. The 4 Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero soundtracks and the ZX & ZXA Tunes on one side, and ZX Gigamix, Rockman 9 Original & Arrange soundtrack and Chiptuned Rockman on the other side.
The spinecard on the outer side of the soundtrack package has detailed info about the soundtrack, as well as a list of the last 5 soundtracks that Inti Creates has published. When we turn the spinecard around, we're in for a surprise...!
That's all about the booklet and other things about the soundtrack.
If you can afford it, please buy the soundtrack from any store available, including CD Japan.

There are lots of improvements I can do from now on, including some "nifty" weapon pause tricks.
Not to mention that only stage visits counts on the timer. Menus, Shop and Weapon screen don't count.
I really wish to stay on a top list like this, so I hope I don't get beaten down from it. -v-
RPM, will you help me claim this for the pride and honor of our site?

News and Announcements / Rockmanathon live stream on RPM, just in time for the big 10 release~
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:32:51 PM »
Before you read a bit more about the news, please watch this flash.
That's right! We're gonna have a live stream ready in time for Rockman 10's release. It's a Rockmanathon, where I will personally play through as many of Rock's games as I can "before" the big 10 is coming out starting next week. When the game is finally available, that game will be played non-stop for a whole week so that no one will miss out on everything the game has to offer.
Today (Saturday), tomorrow (Sunday) and a little bit of Monday, I will start a live stream at a specific time and get to play each one of Rock's games, one at a time. That should be enough practice before 10 is coming for Wii Ware next week.
The Weekend stream will start at these times.
12:00 (GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (New York Time)
18:00 (GMT +1:00) Central European Time
That should be a good time to prepare things, and have the game systems ready for streaming.
But once Rockman 10 is out, the live stream can begin any time we want. x3
We hope to see you there! ^.^
Oh, please tell me what you think about the flash I made? ^^b

News and Announcements / Exciting new Mega Man 10 video coverage from IGN~
« on: February 19, 2010, 05:18:28 PM »
IGN has put up their own preview of Mega Man well in time before the game will come out in March, along with 5 new video clips to prepare everyone for the new challenge ahead.
A few things to mention from their preview and video coverage:
- All robot masters are showing up on the Boss Intro screen, and the one that's picked will jump down to the center with their own animated pose and gesture.
- There are Met Slug enemies that will crawl around and hide in their helmets (as long as they like) until they feel like firing purple bullets that sticks on to you and make it a bit harder for you to start walking/running (almost like you're skid-walking).
- The ice blocks on Chill Man's stage can be shot or jumped on. Just step on them twice and they will break. This will leave you thinking what path to take further in the stage, where you will also find lots of spikes to avoid.
- The mid-boss in Blade Man's stage can be taken care of by waiting for green platforms that launches from the center of the fortress, jump on them and then shoot the eyes on the left and right side of the fortress. Take care of the eyes in the center first for an easier fight.
- It's safe to say that you should be patient enough to walk on the conveyor belts on Sheep Man's stage long enough to make sure the little dots in the flip platforms are filled up completely. Then you get more time to jump on them and get further in the stage.
- It's been mentioned that the Time Attack Mode shows 8 extra stages besides the 8 Robot Master stages, which could mean there are either more Castle stages than before, DLC stages, or both.
- There are 88 specially-designed challenges in the game compared to Mega Man 9's 50 challenges. This might include the Gold and Silver challenges shown on the Tutorial screens from the past news at Capcom Unity.
- If you have been wondering about Sheep Man's and Commando Man's stage themes in the past, you could very clearly hear them before in Capcom's Rockman Birthday Live Webcast last year. If you're still unsure, you can now hear Sheep Man's stage theme even more clear on IGN's new video coverage.
- Capcom Unity has shown the Intro to the game before in the CES 2010 event a while back, but now you can see it fully in IGN's video coverage.

News and Announcements / Mega Kona-tan, an idol's dream to reach for the stars! (Video Footage)
« on: February 12, 2010, 11:55:47 PM »
Last year, a Lucky☆Star game for the PSP came out, called Lucky☆Star: Net Idol Meister.
The characters in the game are offered to become Net Idols with a little help from the company Animate. To be able to become an Idol, you have to gather up a whole lot of Fans to support you. All across the game, you will jump into different things that will help you become more famous, like mini games, and Auditions. The Auditions are the more story-driven part of the game, because if you don't count the mini-games at all, this game is one big Quiz Show. You are going to get questions thrown at you and you have to press a button to get the right answer. There are also Auditions where you have to identify things and type them out in hiragana and katakana.
Local Auditions are spread all across the different towns in the game where you can gather up more Fans through your success, and also gain Animate points, which is the currency used in the game. Then there are Official Auditions that you have to play to advance to the next town. You need a specific amount of points and/or fans to be able to attend those Auditions. There are 3 official Auditions. At first, you have only access to Akihabara, but then you can reach Ikebukuro after beating the first Official Audition, and lastly the Internet Portal if you beat the second Official Audition.
You can also play random mini-games to gather up these points and Fans. Most of the mini games are button-press based games.
- On "Voice Training", you have to press one of the 4 face buttons while you hear Konata make her humming sound.
- In "Mikoshi Ride", you have to cheer on to people that are lifting you up on this ride, by pressing left/up or Triangle/Circle when you see speech bubbles on either side of the screen. They will keep giving more love the more rhythm you put into it when it goes faster.
- "Meet and Greet" will have your Idol run around and greet their fans by themselves in a store, so you have to give in to people's requests and give them autographs or free things. Mess up and it's game over.
- "Gravure Training" is a mini game where your Idol gets to pose for pictures from a cellphone. Press the right buttons as quick as possible to get more pictures.
- "Blog Mod" lets you take care of flame posts that's being posted on the Official Idol Blog. To delete the posts, you have to perform different types of Street Fighter-based moves, and you have to do it quick before the whole blog gets flooded with posts. It also comes with it's own Street Fighter-based music too. Finally,
- "Dance Training" will have your Idol watch a virtual dance training performed by Minoru Shiraishi, all rendered in motion-captured Mortal Kombat style. Follow the button sequence on screen and then quickly press them to go further into that mini game.
The more things you do, your Idol Rank will go up higher. The higher Rank, the more fans and points you will get each time you do something. Every day that you do something, your Stress/Synchro meter will go up in percentage. You have to make sure to not let that one go up too high, like say between 200% and 400%. If it does, the game is over, but you will have a chance to get back into the game.... if you can run away from a perverted group of otakus that will chase after you! If they catch on to you, then that's that. You can't continue your character's progress anymore, and have to try again from the beginning. You can lower your Synchro if you find a Guardian that can keep your stress down, use PV Shoots that you can find all across the game, or beat the Auditions.
Gehoo?, Armorzone, Waku Waku Douga, Geagle...
Parodies seem to be able to get away with these things easily.
You can get 3 different endings, and the better ending, the higher chance you have to unlock things in the game. You get the Normal Ending by having a fan count lower than 200,000,000, an Idol Level lower than Saitama-Wide Idol, and compete in the Final Audition. You get the Net-Idol Seiyuu Ending if you collect more than 200,000,000 fans, an Idol Level lower than Saitama-Wide Idol, and get 1st place in the Final Audition. And you can get the last Ending, Meister Ending, if you beat the Final Audition with over 50,000,000,000 fans, and max out Saitama-Wide Idol Rank to Level 10. You have to do this for EACH character! O.O;
There is a Rockman Parody mini game in Lucky☆Star: Net Idol Meister for the PSP, called ''Mega Kona-tan''. To be able to play it, you have to beat the game with character team called "U-18 Group". You have to beat the game with the U-18 Group with a Meister Ending. Then the next time you play the game, it will be available for sale on Akihabara Wagon Sale for 100,000,000 Animate Points.
You play as Mega Kona-tan (Konata Izumi), fighting against Metal Miyuki (Miyuki Takara). But nothing works on her. The Kona-tan Buster does no damage. You will see some ''Waku Waku Douga'' comments flying all over the screen. It's a parody of the Nico Nico Douga video site, where user comments are flying all across the screen. You must jump and climb on them very high up to the sky while picking up Pink E-Can. You will slowly lose health when you keep reaching out for the skies, so hurry up and pick up the E-Cans. If you jump down from a high enough spot, Kona-tan will fall down really fast, like a Shooting Star. Aim for Metal Miyuki's head, and you will defeat her.

News and Announcements / Capcom Mystery Art Needs Your Help to Be Revealed
« on: February 01, 2010, 11:23:17 PM »
It looks like there's puzzle pieces being put together the more comments that are filled on a blog post at Capcom Unity.
It looks like new drawings for Mega Man 10.
There's a big arm on the lower part of it, and Dr. Light in the corner, holding some kind of device.
Also there's a evil masked man with a bird on their shoulder, which might be a reference to Reggae.
UPDATE: Here are all the drawings put together.
And here's a version without any text and logo.

News and Announcements / The REAL RPM Awards Results Show 2009~!!
« on: January 29, 2010, 09:31:50 PM »This is it! The official results for the RPM Awards this year!
This year was so much more organized, and there were some fun votes here and there, but most of them were pretty good this year. Something to mention is that, some of the members have a second name next to them, so it's easier to know who they are.
The votes on the Special Awards section have all become links, so if you want to know more about that vote, click it. This includes things like flash videos, music tracks, forum topics, and so on. We decided to do this, for your convenience, so that you don't have to search for these things yourself. This work took a couple of days and weeks, but in the end, things got more organized that way, and you are able to click on something and enjoy them for what they are. ^^
Oh, there's a special thing added in the RPM Awards. If someone filled out the awards list FULLY and COMPLETELY, they would get a bonus point on every category they were voted on. The members that did it was *drum roll* Dr. Wily II and VixyNyan. But only Dr. Wily II gets the bonus points, because 1) he did it first and 2) he wasn't a staff member back when the awards started. You can see the bonus point next to his name in the awards.
And we have created a section on the front page where you can reach the Awards.
Oh, before you post here, please remember that the awards are here for everyone's amusement and fun. Don't ruin everyone's fun with ranting or things like that. Enjoy the awards for what it is. Please have fun!
Alright, you can now see the Results!
A total of 35 people voted!
Enjoy RPM Awards Results Show 2009~!! YAY!

News and Announcements / RPM Awards 2009!!!
« on: November 18, 2009, 05:30:39 PM »Made by Captain Headdy
Welcome to the fourth annual RPM Awards! I'm your hostess, Becky~
This event has now become twice as big as last year, and alongside it comes some new rules.
There are 2 different types of Awards. First one is for members on this website.
You can vote for anyone, including staff. The same goes for you, staff members.
The second one is about everyone and everything!!
The special awards will ask you which Rockman/Mega Man Fan Community Member you like the most. This counts any person that focus on Rockman/Mega Man, no matter if they have blogs, forums, upload media, draw artworks, hosting an information website and so on, including members on RPM. The same thing goes for which web-related Rockman/Mega Man community you like the most. It doesn't matter if it's a regular information website, a blog or forum. There are some more awards available, like your favorite fan game, ROM Hacks, Video/Flash, Artwork, Music and more. Someone suggested a Character award last year, so now it's here.
Awards that has come back are Best Games and Animes, in 2009 and Ever. And to make the votes and debates more fun, we added the Worst for each category too. You can also rate which forum topic you feel were the most Funniest, Informative, Debatable, Boring, Saddest and Annoying. Lastly, you can vote for which game-related announcements you found was coolest, funniest or saddest. This counts interviews, game releases, accessories/peripherals, game systems, pretty much anything that has to do with games.
Something you should do when you vote on the Special Awards: Please link to the thing that you want to vote for. This includes videos, artworks, fan games/artworks, music, whatever. I can access any service the internet has to offer, including Pixiv, Nico Video, DeviantArt, Youtube, -booru, and so on.
This would also count for game announcements and personal blog sites. If an artist or community member has their own website, don't forget to link to them if you have the need for it. This award is different than the last ones, because it puts more focus on the Special Awards, trying our best to promote other people and fan-media outside and inside RPM.
Next to each category, there's a number next to them. If it says (3), it means you can only vote on 3 members or 3 things on that specific category. (2) means you can only choose 2 members/things, and the numbers go on like this. You can only vote for one Couple/Duo.
How does the awards submission work then?
You have to send a Private Message to me with every single one of your entries, packed into one single message. You SHOULD be a member of the forum for your entries to be accepted, but that might change soon. Although we would like to accept e-mails from people outside the forum, it would be too hectic to try and organize the votes from them, so for the moment, we don't accept e-mails.
On some occasions, if you missed out on a few categories, a reply will be sent, reminding you of what categories you forgot to vote on. The more votes you manage to fill out, then it will be more organized, and everyone will get the votes they deserve without any votes being missed out. Every member that has sent in their entries will get their own "Voted 2009" icon printed in their profile when the awards has ended, so that icon is a free award for participating. The entries doesn't have to be accepted on DAY ONE. Take ALL the time you want, before the last day.
Voting on yourself is NOT allowed, and the entries where you vote on yourself will be ignored.
If I missed something, please let me know.
Oh, and the awards list will change during the course of the month IF we have to change something. If it does, we'll let you know.
Copy this complete list, open a private message and Paste it there, send it to me, and I will be able to organize everything properly.

News and Announcements / Beat Mega Man games for charity!
« on: November 01, 2009, 10:05:44 PM »
I got a note sent to me about a Mega Man Marathon taking place at the beginning of November. And since they are fighting for everlasting peace and to raise money providing food, shelter and other things for the homeless, I simply couldn't turn this down.
This message should explain everything about the marathon and the thoughtful charity work behind it.
Their website should have more detailed information about the event.
If you want to join in and see them playing the games, be there on Friday, November 6 at 7PM US Eastern time.
The marathon will last for 48 hours from the starting time mentioned.
Show that you are fighting for a good cause too, and donate a little money while you watch. ^^

Quote from: Tom at OCT
Essentially, people play games from a predetermined game series for days at a time, stream the whole thing online, interact with anyone interested enough to watch, and collect charitable donations from anyone entertained enough. I'm part of a group like that, and we're doing a Mega Man marathon next week, starting Friday, November 6 and lasting 48 hours. We're planning on playing the main series games from the Mega Man Classic and X series (and possibly adding in the Zero games if we get through that before time's up), and collecting for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, which provides food, shelter, and other basic needs to the homeless around the Atlantic City, NJ area (which we're near). You can find out more about our event at http://oceancitytrinity.gamemarathons.com. In any case, we're trying to get the word out about it, especially to all those Mega Man fans out there.

News and Announcements / Rockman EXE OSS Demo available in Japanese Nintendo Channel now!
« on: October 14, 2009, 01:11:22 PM »
As mentioned in a Coro Coco scan and 2ch topic a while ago, it said that a downloadable demo for Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star would be available for test-play. I have downloaded it and I'm gonna write as much as I can about the demo, along with small changes that has been made.
- It starts up with Netto shouting Capcom! when the logo shows up.
- The title screen at the top has the game's logo, with beams shooting from the right, similar to Rockman 8. Netto and Rockman screams "Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star!". For the nit-picky, the copyright says (c) Capcom Co., Ltd. 2001,2009 All Rights Reserved. At the bottom, Netto and Rockman stand together with SS-Rockman on the left, just like the artwork on the official site. The title screen song is the internet theme called BOUNDLESS NETWORK in the original soundtrack.
- The music of the game is the original soundtrack from the GBA version, with added echo effects. This is similar to how other DS games handles 8-bit music in games like Game Center CX/Retro Game Challenge and Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver.
- Netto talks with Meijin-san (Mr. Famous) in a laboratory, saying that Netto is Rockman's operator, and of course being the first EXE game, Netto has no clue at all who this guy is. He says he is a great net battler and stuff, and tells Netto his name is "Meijin", and he asks Netto if he knows about Net Battles. It's just a small explanation process so that Netto and Rockman gets acquainted to how things work. Meijin-san also explains how Program Advance works, and one of them you can perform is Zeta Cannon 1. You get "Trial Version Operation Manual" (たいけんばん そうさせつめいしょ) from Meijin-san, which will show up at the bottom of the screen.
- Before entering a battle, Netto screams the trademark "Battle Operation, Set!" and Rockman says "In!!".
- The controls is pretty much the same as the GBA version. In Custom menu, A is Decide/Confirm, B is Cancel, Y is Battle Chip description, D-pad moves cursor, Start moves it to OK and Select lets you see a clear shot of the battle field. In battle, A is using Battle Chips, B is for the Rock Buster, D-pad moves Rockman around the battle field, L/R opens the Custom menu again when the Custom bar is filled and Start is Pause.
- When you jump into the battle field, Rockman says "Netto-kun, operate please!", along with other things before a fight starts.
- Some things I have to mention. Ratton 1 battle chip has changed from 80 damage to 90 damage. Cross Bomb changed from 70 to 80. In the demo, you also get Gutsman navi chip. Sometimes, Roll navi chip pops up too.
- You start with 200 HP in this demo, and the first fight is against 2 Mettaurs and a Canodumb.
- After the fight, Meijin-san calls Fireman to jump into the fight. Fireman has 300 HP in the demo.
- Beat him, and Meijin-san will suddenly tell Shooting Star Rockman to warp into the lab. You don't see his eyes in the mugshot tho. o.o; Meijin-san says he is a Rockman that comes 200 years from the future (Rockman: "200 years...!?"). And of course Meijin-san explains that SS-Rockman is a big hero back where he comes from, but Netto-kun still wants to fight him (SS-Rockman: "...!"). ^^
- SS-Rockman has 700 HP and his battle theme in the demo is "Ride On" from the first Shooting Star game.
- Aaaaaaaaaaaaand the demo stops with Meijin-san interrupting the fight, and you get a Thank You For Playing! screen of SS-Rockman and Rockman EXE posing together. Awww~ >v<
UPDATE: Thanks to Japanese user puroaku, there is now a video of the demo up.
UPDATE 2: A much clearer, higher quality video by Japanese user jikadori is up.
Thanks to Protodude for the hint. Look for the surprise victory~ ^^

« on: October 13, 2009, 10:09:34 PM »
IGN has confirmed that along with Tatsunoko's newest character Joe the Condor added to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, Capcom's newest character entry is none other than everyone's favorite Zero, from the X series. A while ago, Capcom's Frank West (Dead Rising) and Tatsunoko's Tekkaman Blade were announced, and now, along with Roll and Volnutt, we get Zero. Wonderful!
You can see Zero using his trademark moves in this video clip.
The game will be out at the beginning of next year.
