Anyone know anything about recording sound/video off your consoles?

I want to rip all of Morrigan's suggestive one liners off MvC3, and throw them into something I'm making.

Will this do the job?  I don't even care about video quality to be honest, just sound.

It should.   Prolly better than what I use, which is some no frills video-capture device my brother ordered for super-cheap, and the instructions were in Engrish.

If you only want sound, maybe an audio line-in cable is the most painless thing to get. You just plug it into both the TV headphone and the PC microphone holes and then you start a program like Audacity and you can start recording right away.

For both video & audio at the same time, try this Dazzle Recorder. I use that for recording video files and live streaming and it still works after many years of using it.

I swear one of those cables came with something I own, but I have no idea where I saw it last.  For $5 I might as well just order it before tearing my house apart.

Thanks!  You'll be sure to see my Morrigan flash when it's completed.

UPDATE

I tried those audio line-in cables and I keep getting this awful hissing noise :(

Which port on your computer are you using? The line-in one tends to be higher quality than the microphone one.

Previously Zerokun.
If it moves, shoot it; if it doesn't move, well......shoot it anyway.

I did line in.

Actually I just removed the background static with Audacity.  It's not that bad now.

It could have also been dust in the port if it hasn't been used frequently.
