I miss the days of animatronics, puppets/muppets, and stop-motion animation.

I got nothing wrong with some old fashioned puppetry and mechanical effects.
Disney's taking it too far though. when animatronics start looking too human, that's when I want to run the hell away, because its starting to get Terminator-esque with how [tornado fang]ing human in appearance and movement they're getting.

Even Thomas the [tornado fang]ing Tank Engine is a CG cartoon now. It really doesn't have the same charm at all, and I find myself struggling to like it.

Nothing is sacred.

Also, riding on the resurgence of Judge Dredd much?
Actually, this [parasitic bomb] has been long since planned, or at least in the works. Even before Judge Dredd remake.
This movie has been planned since 2005, but was in development hell till 2011, when they actually started getting the train in motion with casting and such.

I remember years ago, I dont even rememebr what movie I went to see, and I saw this 80's-tastic poster:

That [parasitic bomb] got me excited. And then I wondered what the hell happened with it, till only maybe last year concept art started surfacing, and that one Omnicorp Video.

Speaking of OmniCorp, Michael Keaton is playing the CEO, who will be the bad guy. That should be fun.

On another note, Officer Lewis is now a dude.

Though they could be going for the Prime Directives John Cable angle. (say what you will 'bout Prime Directives, Robo Cable was awesome)

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

I miss the days of animatronics, puppets/muppets, and stop-motion animation.  Thankfully, The Aquabats! also feel the same way.  There isn't a whole lot of "state of the art CGI" trickery in any given episode of The Aquabats! Super Show!.  It's all puppets and 80s CGI. (Transparency effects for ghosts and such.)  And it's all very retro, but also believable.  Kind of campy, too, but that was the intention.

Now compare that to any given Hollywood blockbuster movie.  Hulk is a good example.  Specifically, the scene where he picks up a tank by the turret and throws it into the mountains.  Everyone knows that was fake, but apparently, a lot of people can't see how or why it's fake.  I tend to notice things like this and can easily tell the difference between CGI and creative prop and set design.  And when CGI inundates a live-action movie while trying to look completely realistic, well...  That's a bit of a turn-off for me.  Sure, it was fun to, for another example, watch Yoda demolish Darth Sidious like some kind of freaky Jedi frog in Star Wars, Episode II (and then later bust a move with random Clone Troopers), but I honestly prefer the muppet Yoda over a fully CGI Yoda.

The thing about tangible special effects is just that; it's tangible and therefore real.  Puppet Yoda will always be more real because he is real.  My brother thought that the best-looking Prequel Yoda sequence was when he was walking in AotC, and for the longest time, he wondered how much of the CGI budget went into that tiny little sequence because it looked great.  Then, he found out the reason it looked so real.

That wasn't CGI.  It was Warwick Davis dressed as Yoda.

Dammit, Lucasfilm!  Do more of this!  Warwick himself had expressed interest in doing more work, and he demands that you stick him in costume soon before his joints wear out!

Anywho, I'm gonna move along from the subject of stop-motion and other traditional effects and get back to the random pictures.

ooooooOOOOOOOOhh!! Warrick Davis, you gain 10+ respect points. I think they did it again with III by kicking a [parasitic bomb]-ton of clone ass and duking it out with palpatine, with CGI support.

THIS along with old-fashioned movie magic and a well-written script is something I miss. Nowadays it's all boom Boom BOOM! with that budget.

In the meantime, enjoy some Uncanny Star Wars:

And that's a lovely little critter, what is he?

Workshop/DA/YT/Photobucket なにかんがえてるの!?
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Warwick only confirmed the walking Yoda in AotC.

why is this getting a second season.

What? How the [tornado fang]?

I've seen that anime and it is utter crap! Why the flying [tornado fang] would This get a sec-

On second thought, that makes perfect sense.

Still, this gets a second season announced after 4 [tornado fang]ing months but we haven't heard about Haruhi 3rd season for 3 years.

WTF.

EDIT: Hold on; before I get mauled for liking a popular show (because GOD FORBID) let me rephrase that:

"Still, this gets a second season announced after 4 [tornado fang]ing months but we STILL haven't heard about a Durarara!! second season yet."

Kopaka: "That leaves you and I, Tahu Nuva."
Tahu: "No. That leaves only me."

Maybe the site detected too many requests for the image with an external or unapproved referral URL(AKA Hotlinking).

That or the site's hosting itself is just flaky.

Sadpanda is usually pretty reliable.

Somebody must've posted something on a site with high traffic so their servers overloaded.

Anyway, the Anime is "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san", which can pretty much be described as "Hey, lets take Lovecraft and turn them into moe aliens"

I found these at the used game store:

There was a Tak and the power of Juju with a rather dumpy looking Tak but I forgot to take a photo of it.
