I... think... maybe... it's already been translated? ^^;
Were there any differences between jp/us versions?

Yes. An English dub is never a literal translation

I give you Cut Man and Wood Man for now. No kanji anywhere, easier for you to read. Have fun.

Does this or doesn't this reek of "stupid Capcom of America is stupid"?

Also:
An English dub is never a literal translation

That's because "literal translations" in this case follow Japanese grammatical structure and are nearly unreadable.

I mean, I can understand you wanting it if they completely changed the story from one version to the other but... it's Megaman ^^;

I suppose I should have been more clear.

What I'm looking for is an uncensored translation of the original Japanese script, much like a fansubbed anime.

Uncensored? I don't think there was much cursing/naughty things in RM8.

(And which era of fansubbing are you thinking of? I remember that older fansubs (at least for DBZ) inserted swearing where there had been none.)

You do realize that in Ocean dubs, the dialogue is drastically changed to match lip movement, right?

And as for inserting swearing, that's just [tornado fang]ing stupid.

I've seen both Ocean dubs and their originals. They're usually not that different, in the sense of the original meaning. (Not gonna touch the nasty censored version of DBZ since that's not what happened to MM8)
