Does anybody notice this? Everybody say MM10 have weird RM design, but i know why Capcom created these robot masters since about 8 - bit game that we played before, here the explanation:

Strikeman - based on NES Sports game (Baseball NES) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_(Nintendo)
Blademan - based on Castlevania - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlevania_(video_game)
Solarman - based on Contra (If you looked his stage again, then look contra stage, almost same) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contra_(video_game)
Chillman - based on Ice Climber - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Climber
Sheepman - based on Tetris ( LOL, i don't know why but it make sense) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris
Commandoman - based on Cobra Commando - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobra_Command_(1988_video_game)
Pumpman - based on TMNT (LOL, Sink stage) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_(arcade_game)
Nitroman - based on Megaman 2 (LOL, Megaman 2 Intro reference) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaman_2

Now, i want someone answer this theory XD.

It's your "theory". YOU are the one who should give us an answer to this.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but it kind of feels like you pulled this out of your poophole.

Still, what do I know? I'm just some unkown internet stranger.

Well.
To me, it just looks kind of... silly. I don't think these Robot Masters are a reference to any of those things.

Especially the one with supposed reference to Rockman 2 intro... what's up with that any... OHHHH! I get it. Nitroman --> Nitro --> Intro --> INTROMAN

Oh, ha ha ha.

Nope, sorry. It's just kind of a silly theory. A crack if you will.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Still, opinions?

Solar Man's stage does not look like Contra, Commando Man's does.

Check Robot masters's stage again, then match these reference for example:

Solarman's stage remind me Contra stage, if you look Contra stage & Solarman's stage, they are almost same. (I don't know number of Contra stage)

Sheepman's minions like computer click, vanished platform colour, does remind Tetris game. (NDS game too XD)

Blademan's stage pretty just like Castlevania, also including his soundtrack , reference to Castlevania's soundtrack.

Strikeman's stage base of Sport NES game, his stage was really based of Baseball

Megaman was originally NES right ? Then some robot masters completely based of these oldschool  NES games. (If i was wrong).

No, this is a crockpot theory. Everything's either a HUGE stretch or just plain doesn't make sense.

- Just because Blade Man's stage is a castle, it automatically becomes a Castlevania reference? Pfft. I don't see any bats or skeletons or breakable candles with hearts and mutton inside.
- I am having a really hard time figuring out if ANY stage from ANY Contra even slightly resembles Solar Man's stage.
- Just because they're both ice, Chill Man is suddenly related to Ice Climber? You got to be [tornado fang]ing kidding me. I guess every ice boss is a reference, then. Ice Man was more of an Ice Climber reference because he actually LOOKS like Popo. We all know Chill Man's a nod to Mr. Freeze.
- Disappearing blocks automatically equals Tetris? Nah. Nor any other puzzle games that involves removing blocks.
- Nitro Man's stage doesn't look that much like the MM2 intro. They're just both cities at nighttime.
- Pump Man I can give you, as that stage does sorta resemble one of the sewer stages from the first Turtles game. But then again it also resembles Toxic Seahorse's stage and Stage 3-1 from Batman. Or nearly any sewer. You see where I'm going with this?
- I can't comment on the other two, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were picked just because of the similarities by name. Besides, Strike Man is a reference to You're Under Arrest.

I'm sure Pumpman and Blademan (as bosses, not stages) were entries for the Robot Master contest from Mega Man 8, because they wanted a Sword tipe RM and a long armed RM, just a guess

Its possible. you never know.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

I can definitely see where there would be a Metroid influence there with those stopper enemies in Pump Man's stage, but I think the Chill Man thing is a little too much of a stretch in my opinion. While they're both ice stages, I just don't see any further similarities.

Chill man's ice platform will crack when Megaman shoot it or jump it, then compare Ice Climber's ice platform, they are pretty almost like Chillman's ice platform.

there was melting Ice in World 1. (if that counts)

- The platforms in Ice Climber don't crack when you step on them. They only break when you hit them with your hammer. And they're not all ice, either.
- Yeah, Strike Man's stage is sports themed. But why do you think it's based on NES sports games? That's [tornado fang]ing stupid, to be very blunt.
- I don't hear the Can-can.
- And still no on Nitro Man. That is not a reference at all.
- The pump Tellys looking like Zebetites I can give you, though.

Mega Man is ripping off of Super Man because both have "man" at the end of their names.

WHERE IS YOUR THEORY NOW

Darksiders and Zelda, that's a different story.

All of these sound like either coincidences or stretches.  Even the Metroid one.  Sorry, but blowing out enemies that sit on pipes isn't enough to say that it's a direct reference as much as it's just similar, in the way that early era games can be similar at times.

The similarities are way too out there, I'm not buying this. On the contrary, Mega Man 10's stages represent general stages from other NES games excluding Sheep Man's, but no direct nods or connections to others.

Flok's favorites:
