Not quite; cyberspace encompasses ALL substance world phenomenon in the form of a program.

I wasn't denying that. I was discussing the 'measure' of the program. Since it would flow, not all would flow at the same speeds, same trajectory, same direction with or without flow distortions. All I'm saying is that not all programs would behave in the same method. Since in the material world, not everything is 'equal', thus would apply to the world behind the world.

Cyberspace. The realm where all data ends up in the end.

Ends up in the 'END'. Different 'Means' exists for different energies. Unlike a singular cable, more like fiber optic: many cables 'as' one. Or in other words, all energy exhausted is equally transformed into another form.

Has it ever been observed or stated that mechaniloids, in any capacity, have equivalent souls to reploids or humans?

Mechaniloids behave on an 'instinctual' type base. That stated, it can further be correlated to animal instinct behavior. Notice Day of Sigma, the initial Mechaniloid... It wasn't just a dumb piece of hardware. it was observant of it's surroundings. Able to take a cover (hostage), target what it thought to be enemies, and still fight to get itself freed from restraints. They may not be as refined as what we can see within biological creatures, and mimicry within humanoid reploids... But they still are capable of such. Initial Mechaniloids may prove better example for the 'lack' of, latter it isn't such.

Why is it so hard to believe Sigma has a backup body stored in final weapon with a convenient shuttle for the escape?

Not only that, he could have bounced to X/Zero's shuttle for the transport. With his final final form being split into 2 (unlike any other Sigma Final Battle) could have used proxy Sigma's for those 2 forms and escaped in cover... Many possibilities exist to explain Sigma's return to Earth...

The term is Cyberspace. The records of Akasha are just a general description of the concept and role that the ZERO3 introduced Cyberspace fulfills.

And no, that's not how a Cyber Elf is created... It's a Repliroid Soul given a body of energy in the form of an elf.

I meant as in Human flow within the Akashic, to which Human technology also would flows. To which would apply to the Cyber Elf. Of course they are born from Reploid's and granted Elf imaged energy bodies... Just they are bound to an after-life of flowing without a body in the CyberSpace...

Sorry to break your dreams. Humans are just biological forms that have their own consciousness and personalities which only exists through brain. So, if a human dies, that human is erased from universe "completely".

Such has reoccurred within the Series. So fact outside of fiction only seemingly applies within fact. Fiction rewrites such facts. Cyber Elfs, ZX Humans to Cyber Elfs. Light's Capsules... Soul or not, digital rendition of the consciousness still pertains to story plot.

i thought the Die Wily deal was pretty badass, actually. especially seeing how much of a pussy he is everywhere else.

Wasn't that phrasing in MM7 only in the Localized version?

The word is "soul".

Wily would have been able to replicate his mentality and consciousness, but his actual biological creature Soul? Unlikely. Different outcomes between Data Soul and Organic Born Soul. Granted, Cyber Elfs... But they are born from Human technology that flow within the Akashic Records... That differences would separate how they flow, not contradict that they flow...

Sigma is the Virus, he isn't making other Repliroids turn into him using it. The Agent Smith effect doesn't apply, except for some degree with the New Generation.

Sigma becomes the Virus, and even then reploids go mad. Same thing applies. The Virus cannot contain a consciousness and spread that consciousness. It cause eradicate behavior. I.E. Maverick... This is why I think the Virus works with the Program (Soul) instead of being the Virus. So Agent Smith example would still apply if the Virus contained and spread a Consciousness... At least this side of the New Gens... Which would be a different topic...

When Inafune says Virus, he means Virus. Wily who died is using the Virus he himself created to bring him back to life. Similar to how Sigma does it, but without the part where he's become the Virus itself, he's able to cheat death and have his soul occupy a new body.

it is not by his usage of 'Virus'. It is how he was translated to have used 'Virus'. Brought back 'BY' the Virus, not brought back 'AS' the Virus. This is why I speculate that a separate sentient program exists together with the Virus. Since it wasn't intended to Spread from Zero. That was a byproduct occurrence. Plus, with encounters of Virus ridden Reploid enemies, they are more or less going mad... Not changing into Wily. If the Virus was Wily in and of itself, it would make sense that it would behave as in spreading the Virus to every reploid possible and becoming Wily. The Sentient Program spreading with the Virus. Agent Smith in Matrix is a good example. Since Reploids tend to go mad, the Virus is in them, not said sentient program. Plus with Serges and Isoc, they were not mad. Thus they either were able to negate the Virus or didn't have the Virus.

It isn't exactly the Virus. Since the Virus tends to cause irregularity. Wily continues to exist as a Data form. A program of sorts similar to Light. Just bound within Reploid bodies not Capsules. Looking at Serges and isoc, they were not Maverick as in Irregular. They were fully conscious of what they were doing. And are capable of erasure. Case of Isoc. A program to force empty Reploid bodies into a puppeteer type play.

At least, that is one way to look at it...

For some reason I can't shake the image of Axl tripping and landing face-first on a cookie cutter.

I left out the detail for a reason... Think of Axl being left for dead, tripping and landing on his back, or for some reason on his back face up... With liquid metal or something dripping onto his forehead and splitting at the nose bridge. Anything of the like not purpose is an accident. Not simple misfortunes.

Some things are intentionally left for Fans to 'fill in'. This is not uncommon. And has been practiced quite a bit in the MegaMan series timeline. Something are left unsaid to draw Fans into the story. So they can fill in their scenarios to fill specific events.

External Attack vs External occurrence. Attack as in purpose. Occurrence as in accident/etc.

Who said it has to be an external attack? What about the possibility of it being a burn scar? Of a mark from an enemy of sorts? Each are just as possible.

The Copy Chip allows the New Gen body to change. If it sustains a damage, that damage transfers into the new form. It cannot revert damaged areas, it merely places it in accordance to the new form.

Just to offer another possibility for the disappearing of X's armor's.

I like to think that After X is granted the 'Armor' (from a theory that the armor is encrypted within X's systems) after Light decrypts the data, that after the conflict and during the times of peace, no matter how abrupt the armor's re-encrypt back into X's systems. Following Light's fear of X, so it is more of a protocol. This also suggests why he kept his Dash ability, and how the Ultimate Armor came into the picture. Plus is helps us understand what X is capable of with his limitless potential. And since X keeps the data, whether encrypted or decrypted by Light, Alia was able to analyze the 'Fourth' armor for the version seen in X5. And 'Falcon' version seen in X6. Plus Light's trust of Alia to make sure it is uploaded correctly...

R20 is NOT a story book.

Never said it was. It will obviously consist of some source material.

MMZOCW specifically points out Zero awakened in the copy body during the Elf Wars.

How long it has been in production is not stated, but the production of the copy body is entirely related to the production of Omega.

But really, what doesn't make sense? The Elf Wars is a four year war. Omega was started early on and a copy of X could be made by a 9 year old girl genius whose ancestor was a scientist alive during the Elf Wars and involved in Project Elpis..

I wasn't infringing on that Fact.
The Copy Body was created in production of Omega. I wasn't ignoring that either. Just stating that the Copy Body wasn't created to counter Omega. That is all.

Zero / Re: About Omega

I would have assumed they produced the Copy Body in case they couldn't revive Zero from the research outcome they were doing. A protocol procedure in other words. Plus since it would take time for a replica body to be produced it wouldn't make sense if the copy body was produced for the sole reason to fight Omega with X...

Of course, that is only another speculation...

1.  Gate says outright that he "brought back the evil Sigma", and that he knew full well that as treacherous as Sigma was, he( Gate) might be destroyed.  That implies he had brought back the cunning, conniving Sigma from the previous 5 games.

1: Gate does say he brought him back. But did he say how much of him? He was dead. DEAD... Gate resurrected him after study of Zero's DNA data. He didn't have time to fully REVIVE Sigma. Just simply Resurrect him in his basic operating settings. Hence his 'INSTINCT' to fight without a fully developed consciousness.

2. Unless they turned the Elevator into a far more gigantic Teleporter, the interplanetary travel thing wouldn't pan out, what with orbit and distance involved.

2: Doesn't matter. The Orbital Elevator is a method to breach the Atmosphere and from there designate trajectory. If the Tower itself was assumed in control, then the whole idea is naught...

3. Your description of the Maverick label sounds more like the Repliroid label in general.  Weren't they designed with the ability to have free will and choose to follow humanity willingly in the first place?

3: They have limited 'free will'. They certainly have the potential, with the Neg Gens proving this. But they also were not fully granted full free will. This would reflect upon them and would create devastating problems if they decided to act against humans. In other words, many more and different Sigma's. They do possess it as potential, but not fully granted such doe to the high risk they possess...

Wasn't talking about the resealing. I was referring to the initial sealing. His initial sealing was the case that Weil got involved and Omega was born... Not after his awakening again...

Basically, yes. Though it is more alike to Irregular. behaving erratically in methods that can harm humans, destroy property needlessly, and such. Vile would have been classified as a Maverick if he was present for his Hunter Trial. But following Sigma, he was deemed Maverick because he followed a Reploid who's actions harmed citizens/civilians and collateral damage.

Lumine kept saying Sigma was sane.  In X8, granted, he was somewhat lucid (at least in the English version, but in the Japanese: HOROBE! HOROBE HOROBE HOROBE HOROBEEEE!), but in X6 he was downright psychotic (Zombie design not withstanding).  X4's Sigma wasn't all that sane either: his entire plan was to effectively blow up the world with Final Weapon.

X6 he was barely conscious. As he wasn't even fully 'REVIVED'. He was driven by instinct since his emotions weren't revived at that point. X4, the Final Weapon wouldn't have blown up the World. it would have destroyed most of the Human portion. Is Sigma was the Weapon, he could trigger anyone he seen fit which would have given him a nice piece of leverage to make people follow him...

Quote
Plus, let's look at his big plan in X8:  "Hey VAVA/Vile, let's kidnap the director of a project that's going to make a really big elevator to the moon!"  How exactly was that going to help the human race?

The Orbital Elevator would eventually have been able to move people to outer planets. It would have been more of a possibility. Taking over said project for personal gain halts this portion.

Quote
Saying the newgen reploids can think like him is like saying someone can think like Norman Osborn at any given moment.

You are not quite following. It is 'Maverick' as in a Label. They can freely choose to follow their orders or go against them. Since the NEW GENS are meant for the Orbital Elevator projects, they can choose to aid the humans in reaching new possible homes/creating new homes or to deny that chance and remain them bound to a planet already scared by attempted human genocide.

Quote
h, and as for the mavericks-do you know how many clearly insane people deny their own craziness?  Plus, some of the greatest geniuses in the world are at least eccentric.

A Crazy person doesn't know they are crazy. That is left to those spectating their decisions. Plus Genius/insane has a fine line of separation...

Quote
This discussion also raises the question of how much Lumine knew about the previous rebellions....

Having Sigma DNA, it wouldn't have been hard to look into Sigma's previous efforts. Anything that can be connected to him, since they agree with his philosophy essentially... Quite possible Limune knew quite a bit.

Zero was sealed for an undetermined amount of time. During that Seal, Zero was moved into a replicated body. Since that consciousness is 'Sealed', he would still be sealed within the replicated body. He was ported. His stasis didn't change.

X / Re: The Z Buster

Which doesn't conflict with my statement. I used that in the process of him acquiring his ability. Despite not knowing how to use his EAS, it was still unlocked by Light. And yet remained unlocked for X to use in basic future terms. His buster would be the same. Even if in game it does the same damage. And since X2 and X3 had quite different Buster upgrades, both, the buster could also be used as a 'hint' to what would be changing for the Buster.

Boy, I always new the X series was confusing, but this is ridiculous.

Capcom can make fun games, but they can't make a decent timeline to save themselves.

It is explained rather well within the X5 Still Framed cut scenes. But don't worry, R20 X will hit the states late this year to early next year. It should help clear up anything... As long as it isn't translated in portion poorly as the ZOCW was... Good ol Suffering Circuit ruse...
