Is this project dead?  I played Frost Man -- still missing half the stage.  And Grenade Man's stage has some background / foreground issues.  Are they taking donations?  I want to help push this project along and maybe money can re-motivate them.

So is the final build for RMFC8 complete?  If so, where can it be acquired?

How good is the Beta that's out for FC 8?  I don't want to spoil myself by playing it unpolished.  The only Beta I played was where it had two stages and mega man's physics were funky and he had unlimited on-screen shot capabilities that were messing up the game.  Are things smooth yet?

Original / Original Series Update Hacks?

Is it possible for coders to patch the original ROMS with modified gameplay elements such as in-play weapon selectors (maybe the select button since NES controllers don't have triggers) or time trial modes?  This would be cool because it would give the old games a ton of replay value.

Are you sure the Frostman Stage will be cut short or is that just becuz its in demo mode?  Last time I checked out this FC was 2 months ago and I told myself that it probably won't be done in a year, and I'm not spoiling myself my checking it out further.  I hope the fundamental physics were fixed and the max firing was set back.   Still mad props to the MM7 FC that dood saved MM7.

Original / Scan phasing MM7 on TV
« on: January 18, 2010, 08:23:24 AM »
Hey friends,

Like all of you I really enjoyed Mend's 8bit remake of MM7.  I have my controllers mapped and play it on my PC and it is wonderful.  I wanted to take it to the next level and enjoy it on my Dynex 24' through a VGA cable, the issue is when I hook up my PC to my TV and try to play games, particularly this one, there is a little horizontal line that phases through it. I think it's scan phasing but I'm not an expert.  Any suggestions of what settings I could change on my PC to fix this? I looked through the setting on my TV and there wasn't anything that struck me as helpful.

Druphus

PS  The 8-bit soundtrack rocks my speakers! Awesome job!

Is there anywhere I can donate money to Mend?  I admire the NES MM7 so much I want him to fix this MM8 crap that these doods are failing to do properly.  With the news of MM10 out i really would like to play the entire 8 bit series in a sitting:-p

Okay. Although, fan creations is not limited to just drawing. A fan creation is anything made by a fan. Video, audio, photographs, whatever.

<3 thanks Sato.  I still think that fans of the classic series would be more interested in the speed tournaments.

If anyone is interested in participating in Mega Man 2 details will be announced in the next video.

stop merging / blocking / this topic!  I want it to go in the classic forums because this forum seems to just be about drawing.  Put this in the original classic series forum, please.

Just got the trackers working for the torrent so if anyone DLed the CD on Oct 2 please DL the new torrent.  I dont make torrents often so I didn't know you had to put a frigging line of space between trackers.

OMG you corrected my spelling and didn't mention anything pertinent in your post no one had ever done that before!  how original.  Let's a avoid context and just proofread each other's posts.  Let's forget talking about the fan project guys just make a list of typos and point them out okay?  Should I have used a comma before okay? What about that okay?  Was that first comment a run on comment?  Should I have used relevant instead of pertinent?  What kind of shades of meaning does that hold on forum compared to real time text?  What about spoken vs unspoken? Argumentative versus assertive present continuous or maybe even simple assertive future perfect?  C'mon you linguistics expert tell us? You're so deep aren't you? real deep.

urgh. sounds like the same place they were 8 months ago.  Are they even in touch with the dood who did mega man 7?   I tested the one-level gernade man demo a while back and the physics felt a bit off. A bit off translates to very noticable.  During my play through MM7 8-bit I never once felt like I was playing a hack or fan-game.  In fact, I will never play the SNES version again after the killer MM7 8-bit hit my harddrive.  I really hope they work out all the bugs. Until then, I dont wanna touch any unpolished betas/gammas/epsilons.

Positive note, I was really impressed with the gernade man boss battle, very authentic, although he looked a bit ugly.  How are the other Robot Master's playing?

did they fix the endless rapid fire issue and glitches with the alt. paths on gernade man stage.  I am excited but nervous this wont be as solid as the MM7 8-bit remake.

A few remarks,

The buster isn't limited to 3 on screens shots like previous MM games.  This means you can just constantly rapid fire without stopping. I hope this gets fixed.

The sound FX drain out the music, just like in MM7 8-bit. Speaking of that, does anyone know how to hack the MM7 remake so that we can lower the sound fx? I know you can disable them but I just want them lowered.  It sucks that someone spent so much time authentically recreating the MM7 soundtrack in 8 bit only to have it drained out by the mega buster shots the whole time.

Grenade Man's boss fight is recreated so well! I'm having so much fun.  I just hope he gets over his anorexia before the big release day-- he's drawn very puny.

Keep up the good work I think about the final version every day.

I just read that the developers of the rockman8 8bit demake are not the same people who did the RM7 8-bit.  This is taking very long.  I would like to hear an update soon.

I beat quickman several time no-hit buster only during practice sessions (aka state save right before battle)  its gonna be bloody murder running through the stage and beating him though.   I anticipate bright man being the worst.  It seems like it's just luck with him, while I've actually made steady progress on anticipating and manipulating quickman's battle.  Roahm's videos are great.  I'll post my videos on youtube if I ever escape from Korea.

I thought Airman was going to be the toughtest, but it seems like with quickman there is no reliable pattern.  I know he likes to run at you after he jumps and so I  try to time it so he runs into the hump while I'm on the other side.

I thought Fireman is the easiest boss in MM1, I'm surprised you mentioned that he was troublesome!  PS I figured out the magic place to stand when I was youngster before the internet was invented :P!  Air man... let's not go there yet )^^(!

About emulator complaints yuck.  It's so much cleaner than recording from your tele I'm just doing this for my own personal enjoyment.  I feel like I'm really getting inside the programmers head since I've been doing this.  And now I have strangers helping me, which means YOU are in MY head ^^.

Wow. You are brilliant.  Have you done a no-hit run through recently or are you just completely on top of everything?

Thank you for such clear advice!  I've been trying to jump between ladders but gave up hope until you told me about the pause.  The pause in the gap gives us just enough edge to reach the opposite ladder.  This won't be too bad considering if I screw up I won't take any damage. Fortunately, Crashman is a pushover once you study his pattern for a few minutes.

The toughest no-hit moment I experienced in MM1 was the fireman fire-machine thing. Especially the second burner you got to go through is tough to visualize.

While on topic, have you ever come across any moments in MM 8-bit series that require you to use a special weapon or item while pursuing a no-hit run through on the robot master levels?  If there is break it softly it'll burst my bubble (^^)

If your not using any level glitches I don't think so.

Like this...

When I first read "pause trick" I thought she was referring to a glitch.  But now that I've done this and tried it, it's no glitch by my standards.  A glitch is something like the pause trick for mega man 1 or something in these Tool Assisted speed runs I've come to enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPAeLDvxXmc

I'm not warping through walls are using invincibility frames, so I still feel a sense of accomplishment. Thanks friends!
