Alright, next:

In the first three Guitar Hero games, what were the first and last songs on each setlist?

Next one, and an easy one for those music lovers out there:

No More Heroes is also the name of a song in the album of the same name by what band?

Hasbro only got into games via Hasbro Interactive, and that only lasted a few years anyway.

Still, there's only one company I know that did only game show games, and that's GameTek.

The Question, if you missed it: In what 2004 game were you to pick up a Karaoke Revolution microphone and rap along?

Don't be so confident. What is GameTek.

Destroy the Core~ <3

Correct to the MAX. But that GeoMod Question was wrong. The answer was Red Faction and Dark Cloud, a game with a completely different GeoMod mechanic.

Let's check the scores:

me: -2
Blackhook: -1
Vixy: 0
Cephi: 1

Cephi's in the lead~!

Companies for 500: This company mostly put out pretty faithful games based on game shows. It's too bad they're out of business now. (If you know the show I'm referencing here, you'd know what to do.)

May I suggest not to pick questions that only you would know? The goal isn't to make yourself look bigger, it's to make everyone else look smaller. METAPHORS FTW

Here's an example of a question some people should know:

The Gradius games are often misquoted as Shoot The Core when in fact it is ___ the core. Fill in that blank.

I'm going to go ahead and say Goemon. That hint gave it right away.

What two early PS2 games featured a gameplay mechanic called Geo-Mod?

Gaming / Re: 3D games that would make kickass 2D platformers
« on: December 08, 2009, 02:30:17 PM »
Actually, there's this whole genre of indie games called "demakes" that basically take this concept of a recent game and making it retro, as seen here: http://www.tigsource.com/features/demakes/

What I want to see 2D, though... you know, Ratchet & Clank could be a kickin' 2D platformer. It'd be just like Mega Man, except you'd have about six or seven times more weapons to go through. It could be also be like the arcade version of Bucky O'Hare or something.

Another game that would work well as a 2D platformer would be Shadow of the Colossus... oh wait: That's in the link I showed you!

EDIT: the demake, I mean.

Lebowski Man

Weapon: Jeff Bridges, killer bowling skills
Weakness: pissing on the rug in his house
Rejected because: no one would ever get the reference.

I hope you have a lot of useless video game trivia on hand, because this is going to be DANGEROUS.

The idea is simple. I'll ask you a question, and the first one to post with the correct answer wins one point. However, if you get it wrong, you lose two points. I can foresee plenty of Negative scores, because these aren't typical video game trivia questions. These are questions that may regard the story, gameplay, titles, anything. They could be trick questions, they could have multiple parts, they could even be both. They're not multiple choice, however.

Alright, here's the first question:

In Wario Ware Inc., you have how many seconds to complete one level 2 microgame?

Stormman
Weapon: Your typical wind power: Storm Wind
Weakness: Ice Wave
Rejected Because: the two Ms in Storm Man kept mixing together in the stage intro, and it never occurred to Wily to put a space between Storm and Man, so he was scrapped. That, and Frost Man kept beating him. FROST MAN! The single stupidest Robot Master Wily ever made.

Asterix and Obelix?

Nice.

Not to be outdone, I have this:

Look on the gleam of that thing. It is a Retro Duo. 2, I believe.

It weighs, like, at most five ounces. Compared to my other cartridge based systems (the Genesis and N64) the Retro Duo is tiny

You can only see the N64 in this picture, but I have a Model 1 Genesis, so that should give you some idea on how small it is.

Yeah, I know. You ladies are swooning over this guy, right? But alas, he is not me. As much as I would love to be him, he's actually a very good friend of mine who let me use his picture as a rough approximation. no, THIS is me:

Yes, that is a sweet hat.

For Zelda Week, I decided to post a picture of Kaede from The Last Blade as my avatar this week. In my opinion, Kaede looks like Link if Hyrule was, in fact, an 18th-century Japanese-styled country.
