Is he unable to do that pose anymore? o~O
-
.....seriously? B(
-
In between X5 and X6 Zero lost his thumbs in an unfortunate smelting accident.
-
I was going to say, "Because you can't be a mysterious, near-renegade bad-ass if you give people thumbs-up all the time," by I like that answer better.
-

He did the thumbs up in X5, not sure why people think he doesn't.
Its X6 when he stopped.
-
apologies, i havent played X5 in a while.
-
Some days you just have no excuse (don't know how the hell I missed that).
For whatever reason Zero doesn't thumbs-up in Xtreme2 either.
-
I saw it as more of a subtle character development is where Zero is less and less 'happy' over time, with the whole Iris thing, and then the Zero virus thing, and now hes not quite as enthusiastic about combat anymore. This reflects in his victory pose, where the victory gets less and less light hearted with each battle.
-
because x6 came out around the same time it stopped being cool

Same thing as i was thinking. Also because he became even more serious between the events of X5-X6. Though, he seem a little more happier during X8... Or maybe thats just me.

New sprite sheet, they never thought about doing it in X5 that's why.
And Zero was never happy after X4.

It's the same sprite sheet.
-
Zero had different sprites for stance, walk(he didn't clench his fist while walking),pose and attacks in X6 after X5. Unless I'm missing the point here
-
He had the same victory sprites though. Not everything was changed.
-
Fun fact: The Zero Nightmare used Zero's X4/X5 sprites while playable Zero used the new ones with the less-swishy beam saber and the open hands.
-
I'm pretty sure he has new hands in X6, so that lovely theory stands.
-
Dying twice put a hamper on his outlook. It's rough being a Highlander.
-
His new hands don't do thumbs-ups.
-
Oh, right. See, Zero had to replace his hands with a plastic mold after he not-died in X5. It was all he could scrounge up while he repaired himself. It also explains why they're not shaking hands in the picture below:

Really guys? :\ I honestly think he's just more serious. I mean if I had to be bad ass and crap. Giving a thumbs up would kill the mood. Sides the guy did repair himself so he's got every right to not put his thumbs up.

X5 is the game where both mans are so [tornado fang]'d up their scientists have to fix them. X was less damaged. Zero was in two pieces last you see him in X5. Who knows how his hands looked at that point. IIRC he only has the one hand and no waist down. And then Wily rebuilds him with new hands for his new Z Saber.
