Seriously? They're making anime version of the Fate/Zero novel now? I never got a chance to read it, so I expect some things left out in the anime but I look forward to it.

I am so thankful the animation quality is so high. It should burn the memories of the 1st anime's quality away. This anime is so going to make me wet myself with excitement.  owo

Looking very similar to Knk animation (yes, i know it's because of ufotable). Though i doubt it will be as vibrant or smooth as those movies. Still though, i'm easily more excited for this than i was for the UBW movie.

There really needs to be more TM fans on RPM. Saber (Ben) needs to come back...

Very true, but at least there's only a possibility that it could fail unlike with DEEN where it was guaranteed from the start.

The three main anime magazines are revealing on Saturday that LiSA (Angel Beats!) is performing the opening theme song "oath sign" for the Fate/Zero television anime series.

Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine is also revealing that the series will premiere on October 1 with a one-hour special.

My body will never be ready.

No info on that yet. I would guess it's two episodes in a row however.

Oh, and it's getting a simulcast. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-09-20/aniplex-to-stream-fate/zero-worldwide-in-8-languages

And damn it all, it actually gets a GERMAN simulcast. Never thought I'd see that.

The competition must be horrible, if this "song" is the best.

In any case, I heard the first episode is yawn inducing. Should I wait until the series finishes, or should I go right now and start to watch it?

First episode is primarily exposition and character introduction. It'll get better once the Grail War actually starts, which hasn't by the end of episode 1 since there's still one Master slot open. [parasitic bomb]'s gonna get real by episode 3 at latest I'd say.

My Thoughts on Fate/Zero Episode 1 (not that you care):

tl;dr, manly men doing manly things with Waver being moe.

I mean c'mon, they even put Saber in a [tornado fang]ing suit. They are totally trying to man this [parasitic bomb] up.

Welcome to the fabulous future gentlemen.

I really don't get why there's so many people who're either laughing at or complaining about the whole scene with Tokiomi and Risei circling around Kotomine. I thought it was quite nicely choreographed, I liked the whole thing.
Title: Re: Fate/zero by ufotable
Post by: Phi on October 04, 2011, 09:00:21 PM
I loved every bit of this episode. People complain about OMGSOMUCHTALKING when this episode is the introduction to the Holy Grail War, granted there could have been less still scenes and more lively character movements. And the transition from Saber's summoning to the opening theme was very well done. I don't think there is any argument against this being the best anime of 2011.

The November issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Newtype magazine is reporting this Saturday that the Blu-ray Disc box release of the Fate/Zero anime series will have the "original edition" of episodes with scenes cut from the television broadcast.

Well that sounds pretty cool-

Quote from: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2011-10-06/fate/zero-bd-box-release-to-add-cut-scenes
The Blu-ray Disc box release will be split between the two scheduled seasons of the anime; the first 13-episode season will air from October to December, and the second will start from episode #14 next April. The end of the Holy Grail War will be depicted in the anime in June.

Well, [tornado fang].

Hey guys, I have great news! Aniplex of America is releasing the first 13-episode Blu-ray box set of Fate/Zero on March 7th in North America (the same date as the Japanese release for the set!) and it comes with such features such as unaired footage and the first original soundtrack!

And all of this is going for only for the small price of $498.98USD - or even better, you can pre-order it from Right Stuff for the cheap, cheap price of $369.98USD!

What a bargain!

Bit pricey, don'tya think?  o~O

This whole thing already turned into a 15-page discussion over at ANN.

Here's what it boils down to:

The price for this boxset is so high because it is a big premium release. This release, as by Aniplex' train of thought, is only meant for the kind of fan who is willing to pay the extra mile to obtain it. The kind of fan who thinks the series is worth so much, for the collectors out there, not the "casual Anime buyer" who already complains if a complete season set costs more than 60 bucks etc. Hence, you can be pretty sure that this release only has a pretty limited number of copies. The Kara no Kyoukai BD Boxset was similiarily priced and sold-out the day it was officially released at RightStuf. This is a collector's item and hence it is priced the way it is. In the eyes of Aniplex, if it's too expensive, that's too bad for you.

And I somewhat doubt there's going to be a more "standardized" release of this for the US either. I mean, Kara no Kyoukai didn't get another release for the US afterwards, no DVD version, no single BD release, nothing. It's buy it or leave it.

As for me, I am somewhat enticed to buy this, but I'm not sure yet. For one, March is already a pretty expensive month for me given my purchases of games, DVDs and figures and second of all, I haven't found a good store with a somewhat lower price for it yet. So far, RightStuf seems to be the least expensive offer I've managed to find, but the issue is that RightStuf only allows for international customers to pay via credit card, something I do not have. Which pretty much only leaves me with options like CD Japan or AmiAmi.
Title: Re: Fate/zero by ufotable
Post by: Phi on December 03, 2011, 08:51:42 PM
I personally wouldn't buy it unless it came with a load of limited edition figurines and maybe a signed poster. I mean, come on, half a thousand bucks for 13 episodes and soundtrack. Sorry but, fan or no fan, this thing is twice the amount of a current video game console. And even with that pricing, people complain.
Title: Re: Fate/zero by ufotable
Post by: Gaia on December 04, 2011, 02:20:29 AM
And I was just getting into this.

Damn. Oh well, at least Prof. Layton will hold me over around until Fate/zero hits eBay. Then again, March is a pretty busy month. I might consider it. Though, it would be nice if they threw in the Fate/Extra demo in as a bonus, would've been a neat touch.

Honestly, who knows how the body of a servant "dies" seeing as it really is just a "spirit" with a body and a life force supplied as mana from their master. Kayneth said they were "ghosts" of the past, so any and all feelings including grudges from the past could have contorted the way Lancer manifested himself at his last moments. That what I thought. Maybe even present feelings. Not sure, but Berserker's eyes did go all white in it's final moments in trying to protect Illya In UBW.

I thought they were given a temporarily "physical body" or sorts because of the way the Holy Grail manifests them and when they're summoned. If just assumed, even though they're spirits (but spirits can have bodies too if they want, right?), they still have a physical existence which is why the bleed when wounded, and eat when they're hungry (Saber is a prime example of that).

Saber and Lancelot scenes were nicely done. And I liked the transition scene from Shirou's line about becoming a hero to Saber looking up at the shining sky. Thought it was a nice touch.

Because they were.

ENGLISH SPEAKING KIREI!

To be completely honest, that was the best attempt at English in an anime. Ever.

Senjougahara: In our society, letting others find out your best girl is a very risky move. It's extremely likely someone would take advantage of that fact.

But I'm always open about my personal best girls and nobody ever takes advantage of that fact.

Speaking of which Rin's my favorite FSN. I prefer Sakura to Saber though, but they're all good, I don't hate anybody really.

Why not? All routes deserve to be covered. If not all three at once, then Heaven's Feel has priority.

It's not that I would begrudge Sakura getting the limelight for once, but I feel that Heaven's Feel as a follow-up to the rather Saber-centric Fate/Zero doesn't quite fit. (read: the Saber fanboy doesn't want his favorite girl to be ignored, corrupted by the Grail and then have a pathetic death at the hands of Shirou, her dreams unfulfilled and her heart not at ease =P)

Well, the line from the trailer was "What has come before and what is yet to come", which is peaking my curiosity. It would be interesting if they turned this into something like Amagami SS where the series gets reset every time a route is cleared, thus turning this incarnation of Fate/stay night into a 50+ episode opus of all three routes getting animated one after the other. I would at least hope so, given the clusterfuck that was Studio DEEN's attempt to somewhat combine the three routes into one story.

Heavens Feel is the route where Shirou finds out the truth about Kiritsugu, covers the most about Kotomine and Illya, deals with Sakura and Rin's relationship, is the only route where Zouken actually does anything and ends with Shirou not making the same mistake as his father.

If you think of the new anime as a sequel to Fate/Zero rather than just an adaptation of the VN, HF is the route that fits best.

Hahaha as if. That's not happening.

Well, if one thing is for certain, it's that Fate is a money-making machine. That franchise is still going strong after it first debuted 10 years ago (info regarding the new Fate anime is going to be revealed on the 10th anniversary of Fate, which is January 30th). I would think that there are people who would consider this.

Then again, I could totally do without a remake of the Fate route if I could get an TV series or movie / OVA for Fate/Prototype instead :P

That won't happen because there's no female Saber look-a-like to market. Look forward to your Fate/Extra or Fate/Apocrypha anime.

If trash like Prisma Illya can get animated I don't see why not.

Nero's two appearances on Carnival Phantasm were funny, yes, but I don't want that $%#ß to get her own anime. Every time I see her, I wanna punch her in the face.

So you dislike Extra's Red Saber but how do you feel about Apocrypha's Saber of Red?

If there is any clone of Saber out there, it is quite literally Saber of Red. The thing that I find the most confusing about her is that wierd Japanese attitude of "I'm wearing a tube top and short shorts, but don't you dare call me a woman or comment on my feminine features!" that she uses. It just doesn't make any sense. I can't really comment on her however, considering I'm very well informed on what's really going on in Fate/Apocrypha. I will say though that she looks very badass in her armor.

Her Master makes her wear that outfit IIRC

Screw you! EXTRA Saber. BEST SABER.

Others need not apply.

Shame she's stuck in just a shitty game(s).

Nothing to do with the Tsundere Japanese have the need to strap on almost every character? While Saber of Red is great, I wish to see Saber of Black or Assassin of Black. Maybe I am a sucker for historical (In the Fateverse, yea I know they aren't historically accurate.) tragedy stories of Servants.

But Takashi Takeuchi calls Saber of Red the crowning achievement of the culture created by TYPE-MOON.

I've never understood why they felt the need to genderbend Emperor Nero into a clone of Arturia. If anything, Extra Saber should have been Mordred to begin with.

Ugh, it makes it hard to argue with the main artist of the franchise. However, that should go to the original Saber since she is almost literally the "poster boy" for Type-Moon, maybe competing with Arcrueid.

Who? You actually think anyone cares about Tsukihime these days?

Saber herself isn't the poster for TM anyway, just her design and they'll reuse as many times as they need. Her design as the title of 'Saber' literally sells, if I remember correctly a lot of people weren't interested in Apocrypha until SoR was revealed.

I feel the same myself but it can't be helped.

Really? That is all what people put their stake in? Makes me feel ansty that the series that got me into the whole Japanese culture of anime is reduced to an easy sale just 'cause a single character looks like Saber.
