Reccettear is a game where you run an item shop in an RPG world, from how the layout of the displays to decorations and item placement and prices, but you don't just order items, you gotta loot them from inside dungeons, and you hire mercs to aid you on your "Restock" runs.

It comes out on September 10th, but you get a discount for pre-purchasing it.
This looks interesting, gotta try the demo!

So that's how shopkeepers do it. It'd be nice to play as an NPC for a change.  owob

And speaking of which, I like the lighter tone this one has compared to the "uber-realisim" RPGs steam has going. Nice to see a refresher.

Important facts:
killing monsters of one type without killing any of another type increases chain combo, which increases xp and possibly drop rates
selling stuff at okay prices so customers don't feel the need to haggle, like 100-110%, is a great way to raise xp faster in the beginning, as you get JUST COMBO bonuses (also sales = profits)
the various type of customers have different budgets, little girls and adventurers are poor as hell
you can't sell fancy expensive stuff if your store is too plain relationship with the customers is too low - when you first get a new character in your shop s/he won't buy stuff for more than like 1500, so don't suggest that platinum knife when asked for a weapon...
the atmosphere of your store affects what customers come in (most noticeable with adventurers)

It's hard to tell with Japan. But she refers to herself as big sis at one point, so I'm going to go with female.

Played the game. Unlocked endless mode. I love it.  owob

Also if you played and listened she has a girl voice. >.> No super bishies in this game to confuse you. Gender is pretty straightforward.

Very cute and addicting game. Challenging too! It has dungeon crawl with consta-changing floors as well as the ability to return to town every 5 floors. After which you can continue your adventure! Also lots of different characters to adventure with (archer, magus, swordsman, etc.) You can also sell them equips for them to have better weapons/armor.

There are also different styles you can have your store to attract different customers. Booms of items that can get tons of people to come into your store. Prices fluctuate, sometimes you can over inflate the market and prices drop.  -u-'

The game doesn't have all the 'jRPG' stuff you complain about, so don't be so quick to judge it, Flash.  8D

What she said. Also, she's definitely a girl. You gotta be blind to guess otherwise.

Yes, Japan has a lot of traps in it, but there are some absolutes.
