Where does it come from? I'm curious.
Mine is from a fanfiction I used to work on. It's deleted and ditched now.
-
Quickman. Favourite Robot Master. 'Nuff said.
-
Dr. Wily.
Favourite character from the Classic series.
Added the II behind to differentiate from the original.

My username changed into this one over a process. >>; I used to use YourNobody for a long time, but then it was pointed out to me that some people were "offended" by my username. When I asked why, he told me that stupid people thought I was using "your" like "you're". I told him that if I meant you're, I would have spelled it right. Of course, this is the internet and people tend to be dumb--meaning, they don't know the difference. The reality is that I was calling myself a nobody.
In the end, I gave in and started just using Nobody instead; however, this was a tad on the unoriginal side. It became a problem to join forums with this name. It was almost always taken, so I adopted the username The Nobody or TheNobody, depending if I could use spaces. Eventually, people began calling me Nobo for short and this became my next username. I started calling myself Noboka because it was a bit cuter and more feminine. There... Hope you're happy. <<;
-
First is Cephiro which is what I started naming my pso characters (I apparently got it from Magic Knight Rayearth but at the time of naming I wasn't thinking that o.o) People usually jus call me Cephi for short and really only use that now, it's cuter anyway ^^
Yumi because it's pretty and it's k-kinda like yummy ^^;;
-
om nom nom~ >U<
-
well I've had several usernames but the one I settled on is takato or takatomon. I used rockmon after the forums came back because I got bored and it stuck.
-
Satoryu was something i just whipped up back in middle school. i wanted something sounding Japanese, and i came up with this. i don't think it actually means anything.
-
Eh? Ah, well, I don't mind retelling the story.
HyperSonic - Really, what else would this apply to? It's Sonic's (canon) most powerful form, wherein he can travel at the speed of light (though only in bursts; can't sustain it). While it's not complete control of time, I think invincibility and lightspeed travel mostly make up for the difference.
.EXE - I have to say, while the series lasted, I enjoyed Megaman Battle Network. 1, 2, and 3 made very nice navigational and gameplay analogies out of common Internet terms, and only wish they had continued to do so in 4, 5, and 6. Even so, the Card Battling got me out of my usual Platformers and RPGs-only shell, a nice refreshing change of pace (and picked me up after Yu-Gi-Oh! and the Pokemon TCG failed to be fun).
*BONUS*
Tails - Along with Sonic, I've always been a pretty decent fan of Tails. Sadly he gets trounced on for not being manly. Regardless, though, he can fly, invents stuff outta nowhere, and manages to keep the Sonic series simple and fun when every other character would only complicate it and make it "rival" or "darkness" oriented. Also, the ladies like him as well, so it was a fun persona to have there, for a while. It's like I could (almost) get away with anything. Not that I'd do anything evil. :3
-
I almost used my normal gamertag, Szin Dragon, for this site, but since it was a MM forum, I decided on showcasing my love for the greatest character in all of MegaMan history by simply combining his US and Japanese name into the sexiest, most hardcore, bad-ass, superfly Username on RPM!
-
Also, the ladies like him as well, so it was a fun persona to have there, for a while. It's like I could (almost) get away with anything. Not that I'd do anything evil. :3
Lies! You used the name just to turn me on... >U<
-
My friend drew a hippie named Sky Child of the Deep Blue Wonder. I was hard pressed to come up with something quick on a Sonic forum so I just used it. When I got exiled from said forum, I brought the name with me.
-
Mine comes from a bit of an embarrassing time in my life when I was writing a (fairly good apparently) follow up to Zero4's ending which I thought was kinda unsatisfying. After a few name changes, losing a few extra numbers and letters, and spending time among the RPM community, I eventually started re-inventing the character behind the persona creating different scenarios and eventually using him as both my namesake and the main character in my would be project, "Wrapped In Black".
For the most part though, I just liek it cuz it's cool and it's grown on me. 8D

Enigma was originally a Sonic fancharacter I came up with many, many yonks ago, back when I was an impressionable little sprog. The name faded into obscurity, as at the time, I normally used either "Sonic Hero" or "Sonikku Hedgiku" (I know they're not at all original, I was young and I loved the Sonic series, sue me). Anyhow, a few years back I joined this RP board and it was pretty much customary to use your main character's name as your username, so I decided to revive Enigma, this time as a ninja/samurai of sorts that wielded dark magic. He was still an anthro hedgehog, as it was a Sonic RP. I began to use him more (fortunately, he went from honourable and serious to light-hearted and likeable pretty quickly), and the name stuck as my moniker. There are now several different "forms" of Enigma, depending on which franchise or series he's appearing in: a hedgehog one for Sonic RPs, a Reploid samurai for MM RPs, and me, the loveable ice-nin as my "original" avatar.
Groove/The Groovey One comes from an old series of inter-related Mario RPs, where I played Groove Guy from Paper Mario. This name also kind of stuck, and for non-Sonic stuff and in the interim between my Sonic forums and Enigma being used, I became known as "Paper Groove Guy". Since I still like the name and I couldn't integrate it nicely into my avatar, I made Groove into a seperate entity that is, in essence, an extension of Enigma. Thus, I'm also known as EnigmaGroove in some cases, which combines both my usernames together.
And that, children, is the tale of Enigma and The Groovey One.
-
Robo-Ky is my favourite Guilty Gear character (I'm talking about the eccentric one, not the mass-produced garbage), and I added the Mk. III to be original.
-
It's a name of my character, who was created 3 or 4 years ago. I thought "Ok, guys in rockman are named after musical terms, I need a theme too. Let it be... food!" The keyword in this case is "hot/spicy", as hot food is my favorite.
-
So your name is pronounced... "Curry"?
That's awesome.
-
Well, it's a Japanese translation (yay, weaboo!). It sounds kinda similar, though 8D
-
I thought you named yourself after the Karai from TMNT.
-
I thought you named yourself after the Karai from TMNT.
That was the first thing that popped into my mind as well.
-
カレー (kare-) = Curry
-
I'll just keep saying "KARAH-EE"
-
I used to call him that too. ^^
-
At that time I didn't about that other Karai. Now I feel a little bad about that. You know, couldn't_come_up_with_anything_original.
Curryboy XD
-
Keep Karai. It's a good name.
-
Guy Fonderball is a character I created almost 13 years ago. His first name probably came from Guy from Final Fight. His last name resulted from the fact that I thought "Fonder" was the english word for fire. When I found out it wasn't, i kept it because i didn't want to change to Fireball or something. I then explained his name to be a shortened "Firewonderball"
-
my name? learn to mythology 8D

Catbitch.
-
My Fancharacter. nothin more. however, its stuck as my online persona, so I use it every forum I go to.

My respect for you has just gone through the roof.

Since my first foray into the forum scene was at REO when I volunteered to fansub edit, I wanted an EXE-themed name. I had long been a site and forum lurker around the community, but never wanted to be active in them. I saw some parallels in that with Dark Miyabi. Just as Miyabi existed in the EXE games until they pulled him out of the shadows, I kinda felt a part of this community even though I never did anything to show myself. Nobody ever showed Miyabi any love for their usernames, and I always was a big Shadowman fan (since MM3 was my first game), so it fit. And ninjas rule and all that jazz. XD
But I'm not a dark and moody dude, so I decided to play around with the 4 letter adjective before Miyabi and chose to throw Rock in front. One, to show I am a Rockman fan. Two, because the word 'rock' ends my last name. Even in grade school I had some friends call me Rock or Rocky. Because I have a strong sense of justice. Three, because it's my favorite style of music. Four, because I had two avatar ideas to illustrate that name. And five, because people like to tell me I rock.
So no, it has nothing to do with the Japanese rocker or Japanese porn star Miyabi. 8D
-
borockman is the first character I've used in my first comic (elementary or secondary high school I forgot).
The naming itself is simple, just add bo to rockman (borock has a meaning in my language).
The name grew on me and I decided to use it here. Fitting for megaman forum I suppose. 8D

You still Rock my world~ >U<
-
Lies! You used the name just to turn me on... >U<
Actually, there were a number of reactions to the new name! Cephi and Nekomata commented, iirc.
-
I think I posted this story before, but I'll post it again because I don't think the story survived the fourm wipe.
So I'm thinking of getting a new AIM name since my current one at the time was... Well, something I thought of when I was 13. So I'm thinking, and the most obvious choice was TeeJay. I tried to make a new account, but failed to do so because the name was taken. I cursed my luck, and then for some ungodly reason that I can't explain to this day, I thought of Earl Grey tea. And thus, TeaOfJay was born. It wasn't until recently that the talking tea cup was made as my official online avatar.
LazyMan: You've seen this in the IRC channel from time to time. Basically LazyMan is a super hero whose super power is extreme laziness. It was thought of when a new shopping center was openning up and jobs were being given out. Me and a friend, in order to fight off boredom of waiting in line for so long, talked about. I voiced the idea and he added to the jokes I made about it. Fun day. I still have to write up LazyMan's story, though. Hopefully I'll do it soon. ALTHOUGH, I've been thinking of doing a webcomic based off the lazy bastard and need someone that can put pen to paper really well (Draw).
Shameless advertising in the story... I've sunken to a new low.

Despite being mostly African American, our nicknames tend to be either Spanish or temperature-related. Helada is Spanish for Frost and Quemadura is Spanish for Burn in this case.
-
Vixy is a little catchier name for Vixen or Female Fox. A snuggletastic, huggable and cuddly name for a kind and generous, young and stacked beauty like myself, so I've stuck with it for many years. Along with it, I've put together the little Nyah sound that cat girls does when they're in a cheery mood, so my second name is VixyNyan. A word I grown to get used to along with my name is Vixylicious, which I usually am to some of the members, PB included. >U<
-
Nyah. >w<
-
Ok, Originally I was Red Metal Sonic (My oldest username from Sonic Stadium.), After tweaking it a bit, I came to Red Metallix, then to RMX, but that was too short, so I added .EXE to the end. That was about a year ago, and after being here (And finding out there was an RMX Already.) I decided to have my name be RMZX.EXE to finalize it. I've stuck with it since this fall.

Ares comes from my story, Light of Narshald.
I'm also God. You can start worshipping me now.

Ares comes from my story, Light of Narshald.
I'm also God. You can start worshipping me now.
iGod answers more IMs than you do. :P
-
I was initially Blue Robot, which represents Megaman. Blue happens to be my favorite color as well. So after the forum crash, I decided to just stick with "Blue", as it's more simple.
-
iGod answers more IMs than you do. :P
That's because iGod needs to prove to his people that he exists. I'm forever, you know I'm there, you know I care. In Ares, we trust. :V

LOL, classic "quiet or mama spank" moment. :P
Me? Long story. About what, nine years ago? The MUGEN engine was still hot with everyone and their mother, and I fancied myself making stuff for it. (This was when EZBoard was a respectable place to make a forum, mind.) Thus, I decided to join the biggest MUGEN site out there at that time, the MUGEN Dev Forum... But seeing as there were other forums on the EZ network I wanted to join as well, I decided to make a global account.
Thus, the painstakingly slow (I was in dial-up-land) name searching began. During the first two and a half hours (!!!) all variations I could think of of the Dark/Black Zero moniker were already taken. Finally, in a fit of rage, I decided to pair up my location with the initial number of the decimal numerical system, and (un)surprisingly, the name was free. -_-
At first, I have to admit I resented the name a bit -- it was, honestly, slightly weird, if not outright lame. Even though my username was DominicanZero, I kept using other alts to identify myself. But over time, I grew to accept the name, and ended up even being fond of it. Thus, one of the better (un)known veterans of the MegaMan community was born. :P Ever since then, I've kept the nickname, and it's stuck with me for more than... what, seven, eight solid years now? :P
-
Originally I was mariomario112189 for reasons lost in the mists of time, but then I changed it to thekirbymaster because I had mastered every move of Kirby's in SSB64. If that was taken, I used dakirbymaster. When Brawl was announced and Meta Knight was a character, I changed it to MetaKirby, thinking that Meta Knight would be a powerful, agile character like he is in the Kirby games. Then Noboka gave me the nickname Mirby and it stuck, because I really like that name. That's the history of my online personas. Oh, yeah, I also used N. Brio at various points for no particular reason.
-
I was a huge Yu-gi-oh fan at the time. The name kind of stuck.
-
Well it comes from my name, which is Kit, and...well....I'm pretty super.
-
Well Sakura is the name of one of the main characters in my fan fiction that is still on hiatus due to my inability to make fight scences or a good plot. Leic was just Ciel spelled backwards. But now I'm thinking maybe I should change my user name to Zeta or Magnolia.
-
Nah, keep it Sakura. I like Sakura!
-
Ah why not it's grown on me but maybe I should lose the Leic. :\
-
If you so desire, that's fine. But keep Sakura!
-
I'll try it out but if I don't get used to it I'll change back.
-
Oh god, now the RPM Awards is ruined... </joke>

Mine is from a fanfiction I used to work on. It's deleted and ditched now.
It's been about 10 to 11 years since I ditched my fanfic, try to revive it a while back and failed.
-
Hey that's my story.
Tell your own.
-
Yours sell well.
-
Random word picked from my mind. It probably has some meaning I was unconscious about at the time, but it's really a placeholder until I come up with something else.
-
I explained Killsringman already before the revival, now let's talk about Flok. I got that one from 2 persons in my old classroom actually. I used to have big front teeth in the past, and because of that, 1 of the persons decided to draw me in a very weird way, full of hair on my head, not showing the face, but only showing 2 gigantic teeth at the front, indicating that I am a hairified rabbit as a comic character. And once the other person saw that character, he called it "Flok". And thus, my original nickname was born.
-
Duh... I'm a sniper! 8D I thought of putting Sniper 07076 or Snipergirl, but nah. Sniper X goes well.
-
I am known as Tsukishiro due to one of my most favorite things in the entire world (white moon), which is what this name translates to in moonspeak. I also went by the name "Zephyr" in the past, due to the character's time meddling abilities (I didn't know about the link between him and Dio Brando at the time, though...).
-
Archer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archer_(Fate/stay_night)).
-
(http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j129/psychoswordlady/350d4e96.jpg)
This little piece of jailbait. I even went as him last Halloween.
I used to go as psychoswordlady back in 2004 or so. There was a character in Fire Emblem 7 (the one most people have played) named Karel, and he was this homicidal maniac with really long hair and he was such a badass. He was a psycho sword guy. So I was like "Duuude! I wanna be just like him!", so I joined a bunch of nooby sites like FFN as psychoswordlady. Eventually I got bored with the name, and when I joined my first Fire Emblem forum, I picked a more flamboyant character. It was either Roshe the Pink Knight or Asvel the Jailbait Wind Mage. Asvel was more, well... look at that skirt. It was more for the reaction than anything else, but it stuck.
So that also clears up anything about Asvel being my "fancharacter". He's not. I just use him as an avatar for convenience's sake and because I always play male characters anyway, whether they're campy or macho.
-
Mine's an abbreviated name of a character of mine.
The Angel of Ruin
-
Well I'm like totally late, but my username derives from the Fallout universe. I have a small obsession with Fallout, and Power Armor is the most recognizable from the game. So like, since I'm totally unoriginal, and at the time I joined RPM, I just recently got Fallout 3, I just took the name.
By the way, I'm a Tesla type Power Armor.
-
Years ago when Fire Emblem 7 was just released in JP i read through some characters names and misread Ephdel for Ephidiel
I liked that name so i took it as a nickname. Well many people that know this nick only call me Ephi now since most of the time they misspell the whole name xD.
-
My first one many many years ago was Darkhunter, over at Zephiroth's forum (he's better known as the Ice Mage now). When things went ugly on that forum and it collapsed, I never really stuck to any one place for long, but wherever I went I was still calling myself the afformentioned. After a while, though, I grew tired of it's genericness. So what I did was that I randomly hit five keys on the keyboard and accepted the outcome. I think the first place I used this new name was for when I was making MUGEN stages, actually (ironically enough, seeing DZ's post). Anyways, chances are if you see a Fxeni, it's me. Except for that one guy that plays a lot of MMOs apparently that for some reason managed to have the same name, but I came first, he's the faker :P
-
Out of complete curiosity, how do you pronounce that...? X(
-
Isn't it pronounced Fex-Eni? Or is it F-X-Eni?
-
The Key to a good username is one with very few syllables.
-
Vile is my favorite pop-folk singer. And he was remade 2 times before, this would be the third remake, and by that i mean the fourth Vile.
The previous three were Boba Fett ( in that horrid holiday special), Vava in my Super Nes and Weil from that viagra commercial in GBA.
-
Isn't it pronounced Fex-Eni? Or is it F-X-Eni?
I've always pronounced it Fex-NIH.
-
Fzeh-nee
-
I'm a megamaniac and i'm Portuguese... i think that clarifies something... it doesn't?
Mega (Megaman9 + Tuga (the classic name for Portuguese people, usually Brazilian use it more)
-
I actually have no idea. I let people pronounce it however they like, and I kinda randomly jump around pronounciations, myself. The ones that are the most prevalent, though, are
Fex-NIH
Fzeh-nee
Fex-Eni
Maybe I should hold a vote and see which one should be the "official" pronounciation 8D

I have two ways of pronouncing it.. o_o "F-zeni" or "F-X-ni" >U<

My own username comes from the initials of my own name as seen in the sig. I only pray no one steals it or uses it against but otherwise this is my username that I stuck with for years. Fall into the GAP! *blows some kisses*

My username is clearly a hybrid of two of my favorite military vehicles.

mine's came from...
simply re-arranged from "Raizen"...
and the name "Raizen" came from the word "Rai" and "En" with additional "Z" in the middle

I pronounce it "Fix-zenny."
-
yknow, for a bit, i saw it as fenixi. then I saw the X was before the "en"
-
Just the Robot Master Slashman. The fact that he's 'the best' can be debated, but he's definately the coolest in my eyes.
-
Yet somehow, I still cant bring myself out of the habit of pronouncing it Fenixi...
-
Fex-xeni... That's how pronounce it.
-
Got mine from digimon and "Crimson Lightning" was i think it was Myotismon's atttack and it reminded me of Quickman (dont know why) who's my fav robot master but that name was taken so i put "Crimson Lightning" instead
-
Got mine from digimon and "Crimson Lightning" was i think it was Myotismon's atttack
Yeah, that was Myotismon you're thinking of.
Might as well make this my official hello to the forum. The first part of my name is supposed to be three capital letters in a row; comes from my main roleplay persona who has those as initials.

Favorite weapon from MegaMan Legends 2. Merged into a single word due to the first board I joined not allowing spaces. I decided to stick with it so that the grammar-nazis could differentiate between me and the weapon.

It's amazing I never saw someone who named himself "Shining Laser".
Guess there aren't enough people who played Legends.

My name comes from a character I created for a pilot TV episode that never took off. The show was set at a yoga studio, Chulio was this guy that was a director/actor in a childrens costume show (think barney). He only ever wore bright pink LuLuLemon yoga outfits, everyone assumed he was gay. He was not.
Hilarity ensued
...and that was why it never went anywhere...
but the character was a pretentious prick and dumb as a sack of hammers. SO it wasn't a stretch to be him... ;O;
-
You know, I might have watched this! 8D
-
Chulio, coolio. Heh... awesome.
-
calm down Julia Gulia
that was bad :P
-
You know, I might have watched this! 8D
Sad/funny thing? I probably could have seen me watching this too. Everybody needs a few "downright triflin'!" things to watch, every once in a while. 8D
Any way, my name?
Well, depending on which part of the internet, I may be going by any one of my multiple aliases (TreIII and BWX4 being among some of them).
But "Viewtiful Ben", my current name on RPM (til next crash.... 8D) should be fairly obvious. It's based on Viewtiful Joe, which is probably one of my favorite games in the last few years, and probably my most "infamous" of Smash aliases, around my neck of the woods.
And well, Ben is my RL name.

I was drawing some Invader Zim art for my friend Lexi one day and I decided to draw Megaman in the same style as the show and I liked it.
At first I thought of Invader_Megaman but I thought Invader_Rock was mega better. :D
-
Back in 2002, I joined a website (that is now closed though).
First I tried "Shadow". It was taken.
Then I tried "Shadow II" (read: Shadow the second, I was lame.), it was taken too!
Then I typed "Shadow II2" and it was accepted. 8D
I used that one for quite some time, until when I registered on to Newgrounds.com, where spaces aren't allowed...
I just typed "Shadowii2" and since then I have been using that.
I sometimes might use the alternative username, "Shattouwi" though. Like on my AIM.

That's pretty cool, i almost used my old AIM from way back, Mmxzero0021, i liked Megaman X and Zero the same and I was really into james bond hence 0021 (( agent 0021 =P )).

Well my name comes from long ago when Jet mode wrote a fanfic called Time line.( Get it here (http://members.tripod.com/~Maelgrim/rockfic.html))There was a character in it named Tourian and I was only 13, so when I went to make a user name for AOL I decided to use Tourian, but I spelled it wrong. Afterward I found my mistake but decided I liked Turian better and ran with it. And now Microsoft decided to use my name in Mass Effect to name a alien race. Karma is a [sonic slicer].

Ok, cool. Just making sure we were talking about the same guy. I'm not judging you. 8)
-
...It needs explanation?
O fine. I go by that on other MegaMan boards...Except for that time I went as Zet Sabretooth, but I didn't like that one too much.
Then I'm like "...Kay, let's be Legendary and see how that goes."
And the crowd continues to go wild. =D
-
what crowd? :P
-
The ladies, the gents, and those who haven't went...to the show... -_-
*They're onto us, Lou!*

My name came from this idea i had in my head , of a normal freefloating soul in our world , except it can change into any animal , made out of bent light, and i made a whole story for him , And his name is SoulAnimal :D

There's a long story, but to make it short I once called myself Kharana, but, to my surprise, there was someone who called himself Kharana as well(tough I'm not sure if it was a guy or a girl, oh and he/she was from Sonic community too, just like me).
So, I decided to come up with a better nickname, tough I didn't have any idea so, what did I do? I stayed with my original username: "Lord Forte". Until, one day I was thinking up characters for my ORIGINAL FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION story, and I tought that I will have a demon named Kharana in it. Then I tought: "Maybe he should have a brother", and I was thinking when suddenly it hit me, KHARAXEL. "I will call the [Top Spin] Kharaxel!" I said, and took on this username. Yeah, That is the true story.
Jesus. It was supposed to be short. Oh well, whatever.

Mine is simple.
It is a name a few of my friends decided to call me back in middle school. The thing is that it actually took, and that became my nickname... Go figure.
