Title: Rockman 10 Image Soundtrack Info

Looks like we have our first glimpse at the cover of what will be the Rockman 10 Arranged Soundtrack. And this time around, it's art from a different Rockman manga artist: Koji Izuki, of Rockman 8 (http://rockmanpm.wikispaces.com/Rockman+8+Vol.+1) and Rockman and Forte (http://rockmanpm.wikispaces.com/Rockman+and+Forte+Vol.+1) fame. The CD will have a 28-page color booklet, so you have to wonder how many different artists will have something in there, or if we'll be getting a special comic by Izuki this time around.

According to Heat Man at TMMN (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/03/04/capcom-of-japan-announces-rockman-10-image-soundtrack/), the Image Soundtrack will contain 21 tracks worked on by composers from the Rockman 10 sountrack, along with Masato Koda (Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry), Yoshino Aoki (Mega Man Battle Network, Mega Man Star Force), Saori Utsumu (Mega Man Xtreme), and Seiko Kobuchi (Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X).

Just like the RM9AST, there will be a vocal track of the ending theme. But there will also be a second vocal track which was actually written by Hitoshi Ariga, but performed by DigitalSPicyDuck, featuring Tohru Itoga. There are also going to be a few drama tracks this time around, with Wily and Light providing the dialogue. If only one sounded like a Japanese Elmer Fudd and the other had a heavy German-Japanese accent... 8D

The disc is set to release on April 30th.

Post by: Rock Miyabi on April 19, 2010, 08:32:43 PM: Over at TMMN (http://www.themmnetwork.com/2010/04/19/rockman-10-image-soundtrack-samples/), Heat Man has posted a new Inti update featuring 4 samples (http://www.inti.co.jp/cd/rockman10ist/index.htm) from the IST for our listening pleasure. All of the samples do have a decidedly rock flavor, although to what extent is arguable. Nitro Rider has a distinct feel like it has been intentionally done in Complete Works PS Remix style. Solar Inferno tries to get down and dirty, but in my mind it comes off as pretty messy in the beginning and not as heavy or cool sounding a remix as I was hoping for. Something with that guitar just sounds off in a big way. Decent, but nothing special.

The star of the samples is Against the Pressure, which has a very polished, upbeat, and well played guitar sound. The pacing actually makes it feel like it fits the Rockman 5 Darkman/Blues Castle stage vibe, now that I think about it. And then finally, there is a little bit of the ending theme, Last Exit. Personally, I could probably do without the vocals, but it sounds fairly good.

So go take a listen; we've got about 10 days before the CD releases!

Post by: OBJECTION MAN on April 19, 2010, 11:45:20 PM: Against the Pressure makes this entire album completely worth it. Odd effect on the Solar Man guitar... but I'm not sure its entirely a bad thing. It does in a way seem to fit the song.

Sounds like the R10 album is gonna miles ahead of RM9's Arrange album. I love what they did with Against the Pressure. The other samples sound great as well.

One and Only is pretty cool. It's a shame there isn't a non-vocal version. I didn't care much for Introduction. The Title theme was alright. The Rockman 9 Title theme from its AST sounded better. The level themes overall are pretty enjoyable. The only dud was King of Blades. It sounds way too synth-y. Same thing with Nitro Rider, but at least that song gets better as it continues. I wish they made King of Blades in the style of Knight Man's stage theme from Rockman 6 Complete Works. I'm a bit disappointed with Desert Commando. It is my favorite in the OST, but the arranged version was very "meh". I dunno, it just didn't impress me. Cybersheep Dream was pretty cool. Solar Inferno and Absolute Chill are my favorites. The Boss theme is really cool.

I didn't really care much for Dr. Wily Manifesto. Same thing with For You, but hey, at least it sounded nice... Abandoned Memories would have been great if they just left out the intro part. It wasn't that great in the game and it still isn't great here. Against the Pressure is probably the best track. No Turning Back is another good one. The Wily Stage Boss theme is not bad. I didn't care much for Close to the End... at least until it got to the 2:00 part... that was pretty cool. Nemisisphere was cool too. Last Exit was great. Too bad there isn't a non-vocal version for this song too.

Overall, I liked it. It could have been better, but oh well. I'm sure these tracks will grow on me with time. I absolutely hated the OST for this game when I first heard the music but after hearing them a bunch of time, I grew to love them. Absolute Chill became one of my favorites from the OST and I remembered saying it sounded like [parasitic bomb] back when I first heard it.
