that was very misleading. when you said 2.5D, i was expecting 2D gameplay with 3D graphics. that was more of the opposite. still cool, though.

A rather unique twist on the whole "2.5D" thing. It seems like more of an animation, though. Ah well, this is still pretty damn cool. :\

Y'know, when I heard "TheShadow" wax on about RM9 using an "8-bit graphic artstyle" for the first time, last year, at least part of me wondered if perhaps Capcom had something like this in mind.
Certainly would have been interesting if this had indeed been what they had chosen...

It kind of was. The 2D and 3D parts were split, much like the video had it going. Granted not a huge split, it did shift from 2D to 3D.

It looks awesome, but unless they're willing to apply some manner of shading for objects in the distance, they need to stop lining up the camera EXACTLY in the "2D sidescrolling" position. It's very easy to get background and foreground mixed up that way. Keeping a slight angle to the camera would work wonders.

I mean, I thought just the 2.5D idea was awesome in itself. But the Co-OP with Blues...that's literally a dream come true. Capcom needs to hire this man to put this game on WiiWare, PSN, XBLA, DSiWare, anything. It would sell so much.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I went into watching this as I had heard several different reactions. I was actually expecting something I wouldn't like as, and I love you guys and all, but you all spooge over nearly everything Mega Man :P
However, this was actually pretty damn awesome.
