Burned the game on a CD-R. Works just fine, but hangs after the "press start screen." Might have just been a bad burn on my part. Will try again tomorrow, but there's nothing wrong with the .iso itself.

From what I've observed so far, the demo might be the E3 Special Edition one I showed a few pages back. This demo, supposedly, has X playable in the opening stage.

I'll let you all know if anything happens.

Awesome, awesome. Do want the Command Mission protos and the X7 trial.

It's late on my end, and I'm tired, so run this by me again: these are getting dumped, right? Also, Ralene is a trooper  ;)

Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, I'll attempt to bug The Shadow for more concrete details... yes, I can't wait till NYCC either.

Out of curiosity, Skaarg, did anything become of the other betas/prototypes? Did you ever buy them?

Awesome, I just love stuff like this. Any idea how recent that particular issue is?

6
How quickly will the footage be up?

Will there be a stream of some sorts?

No word on a stream yet (they did provide one for Comic Con), but Capcom will likely put everything up (footage, screens) directly onto Capcom Unity. When exactly the stuff will hit the web? I won't say day one of PAX, but you should keep an eye out just in case.

He also has a proto for Mega Man Anniversary Collection (PS2) that was marked March of 2004 (3 months before release) and previewable disc of Command Mission for PS2 and a NR Reader disc for the game cube version. Again no clue on how early or late those are (minus the Anniv. Col. disc), but unfortunately I just had a ~$400 car repair, and I don't have the money for all four discs. They're all roughly $50/piece and my b-day is this friday so hopefully I'll get some birthday cards in the mail from family that will help my proto buying. =)

$50 a pop? Wow, he really did drop those prices! I tried bargaining for the PS2 XCM a while back, but he wouldn't go any lower than $150. Alas, I'm broke myself at the moment, so do as you will!

Been playing through it, spotted quite a few oddities:

-There are no sound effects during cutscenes (such as hums of machines or howling winds), only voices.
-Falcon Armor's Giga Attack lacks sound effects.
-Stage background graphics are incomplete in some areas.
-High Max's battle sprite is a brighter hue.
-Nightmare Viruses in Commander Yammark's stage do not infect rescuable Reploids.
-When fighting Nightmare Zero, his armor is traditional red whereas in the final, it's purple/pink.
-Rainy Turtloid's stage music is slightly different, lacking certain instruments.
-As seen in early screens, the giant Reploid, Illumina, is restrained.

Japan's MMU site is up: http://www.capcom.co.jp/megaman_universe/index.html

Curiously, they're calling MEGA MAN Universe as opposed to ROCKMAN Universe.

EXE / Re: ClockMan Scenario in Operate Shooting Star

I seconded this. Sure, the majority of the game may not be 'new', but it'd be interesting to see just what exactly was going on in the new scenario.

I'm a bit bewildered as to why no one's taken the initiative to create an English patch for OSS. Wouldn't it be easy to merely transfer the BN1 script over to OSS? Then translate the new material from scratch?

EDIT: ZX volume 1 out next Wednesday. Also, Battle Network Official Complete Works in November.

Looking for a better quality version of the following Ariga piece:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

It was produced specifically for the comic's circulation in Comic Bom Bom back in the nineties. Haven't seen it anywhere else, so this might be a shot in the dark.

Other than displaying illustrations, did the touch screen have any other significant features?

I found out that it's release date for Japan has been postponed because of development issues. I just hope that there are no flaws/glitches that will make it unplayable.

was postponed. The game is now set to release June 10th.

The MMKB says this as well. See for yourself.

And it's unsourced, among other things.

Maybe I'm just having a brain fart here, but where was it ever officially stated that MM1 started out as a "Astro Boy" game, and then a coin-op arcade game? I've seen these two tidbits of "trivia" pop up every so often, usually w/o a source.

Out of curiosity, anyone here attending Wonder Con this weekend? Capcom's hosting a playable Zero Collection demo at their booth...

That's the demo I'm referring to. =P The info I gave may not be new, but from what I've seen it hasn't been documented anywhere.

I have spring break coming up soon so I want to see if I can dig into any of the files some to find any more leftovers. It seems a lot of the documentation online is only comparing gameplay and graphical differences. There may be leftover things such as textures or sound clips not used in the demo or final. I'm also curious if any special weapons are in the demo in some form considering they are mentioned in the ROCK_NEO.exe. Problem is I haven't had much experience with many of the stuff here. So it's like a 1000 piece puzzle and it's one solid color.

Looking forward to any findings you unearth! I'm obsessed with the production phases of MML1; love seeing the beta stuff.

I don't want to bother downloading a fan-translated or Japanese ROM of that Famicom Rockboard game, so I'm taking a risk by asking this.

Did the Japanese game feature some Romaji or even some English text? I asked this because as I was going old articles about old games and I stumbled upon this Spanish article about Capcom and in it, features a screen-shot of the game in English. It's called "Mega Board" in the article, but I would think it's because its following the "use only localized name" rule.

Here's the exact screen:

Upon analyzing it further, it also mentions something about Super Mega Man (Early Mega Man X name). If anything, this game was translated into English at the time.

There's very little Eng. text in RockBoard, and none whatsoever during that particular event depicted in the screenshot. I think you've stumbled upon a most interesting discovery: a cancelled English version of RockBoard!

The broadcast (outside of Japan at least) will take place at Stickam, for those curious.

The whole website has received a lovely Mega Man-makeover!
