I actually don't notice anything. But it's been years since I actually spent some time on X4, so I could be wrong.

On a second listen, it sounds a tiny bit like Zero's, I think. (very large emphasis on tiny)

Yeah, the sound definitely gives that vibe, but I can't think of any stage yet...it's actually kinda bugging me...and may so for the rest of the day.

Edit: ...strangely i'm thinking of Split Mushroom's stage.

Listening around some tracks.  Only 1-2 notes sound familiar but not to the point where the two are identical, just a couple o' similar notes then they just have different notes right after.  That's all I can say.

It sounds like similar to X's Opening Stage, but I don't think it would be enough to call it a rip-off.

It kinda reminds me of X2's Magna Centipede and the music when you fight Zero.

It had a sort of X4 flavor. I'm not sure if I'd call it a ripoff though. It almost sounded more like a segment of Magma Dragoon to me.

The best track I can identify it with is Jet Stingway's BGM.

The tempo's very similar, and they both also share a similar pitch.
