Hey, does anyone know how to get in touch with these guys?
It looks like they need some serious help with the sprites of the enemies, especially the robotmasters!
I was thinking that I could help them with that.
Heres 4 of the robots from the game with a serious update looks so they actually look somewhat like in Megaman 8 but in 8-bit sprites.

All made by me from scratch :)

Or I can just be a nice guy and show you all my megaman fan game Megaman Maximum x3

None taken, so dont worry.
Also they arent really too detailed since they are in the NES size and color usage.
I would say these are about as detailed as the MM7FC ones which they did.
But if they take it as a problem then its vey easy to make them less detailed.
I was just going for a look close to MM8 but in 8-bit so thats why these look like they do :)
As for AstroMan, he still looks pretty bad :(

Actually, they don't look so bad. Aqua Man is much better than the one currently in use. Problem is, I don't really like the others. It's not that they're bad, it's just that they're, again, too detailed. Also, I think to preserve originality, KEEP FROST MAN LIKE IN MEGA MAN 10. Thanks!

So is the final build for RMFC8 complete?  If so, where can it be acquired?

Is this project dead?  I played Frost Man -- still missing half the stage.  And Grenade Man's stage has some background / foreground issues.  Are they taking donations?  I want to help push this project along and maybe money can re-motivate them.

So, they're up to beta 2.97 now which is an almost finished version. Sadly they stopped using the image folder setup after 2.91, which means no custom spriting for current versions  :|

Oh well. Here's hoping maybe they'll change their minds about it, so we can muck around with it. I want to make a sequel to Kamen Rider Decade - Rockman no Sekai.

7FC was really the best they did. 8FC is a failure IMO.

I don't believe the 7FC people did the 8FC game. 8FC seems like a bunch of wanna be's who couldn't cut it.

I dont think it WAS the 7FC team... I vaguely recall something on the matter being said at some point, but I cant remember now.

It is in fact a different group doing 8 from the group who did 7. On top of that, I think it was actually several different groups doing 8 in different ways before one way was finally settled upon. I'm doing custom sprites for beta 2.91 as it seems to be fairly complete from what I can tell.

Man, what happened to everyone from this thread?

In other news, for those looking to edit sprites in 8FC, yes the sprite sheets have limited color palettes, but if you have photoshop, you can modify the palettes if you go to Image>>Mode you should see it at the bottom of the menu. There you can change the colors, add colors, and even save the palette which can be loaded into your swatches for easy color picking

This will be my last post until there's further activity on this thread or I've completed my project.

I found a program that will make it so that image edits of the newer releases for 8FC are possible
http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/

Resource Hacker allows you to open an exe file and look at pretty much everything in it via a very easy to use GUI. On top of that, it allows you to export certain resources. I was able to open up the latest release of Rockman 8 FC and export the image resources as bmp files. You can name it whatever you want when you export the file, just make sure you don't save as a Resource file, but as a bmp file. You can edit this in MSpaint classic or gimp or Photoshop, whichever program you prefer that will work within the color pallets/tables. I always recommend Photoshop because you can change the color pallets/tables if you want. Finally, save the file over, then go back into Resource Hacker, right click on the original file, and hit replace.

Things to note: They've changed the character sprites so they only have one direction face in the sprite sheets, which means half the work. But that also means walking back and forth is just an image flip, so no asymmetrical characters here. Another thing to note, they have changed background colors on some of the sprite sheets, so be aware of that if you're just going to copy and paste over from older sheets. Finally, in some image files, you'll notice there's a sort of greying out styling that repeats down the image. You can use FC Image Creator to replicate this, which can be found in Beta 2.89 and earlier.

Resource Hacker also lets you file icons, but I've had mixed results with this. Then again, I am running Windows 7, which may treat icons differently from XP. I'll put the files on an XP computer and see if this changes anything.

That sounds more like a computer issue than a program issue. Have you tried every version?

Yeah, one of the really old versions worked for me. I'm not sure which one though.

Maybe Vista doesn't like it. Works fine on XP and 7. Hmm. This begs for experimentation

Is anyone else having trouble using joy to key on 3.12b? I am running win7 64-bit, and I have tried using two different perfectly good pads, and different versions of joytokey. I also tried other games, and they work fine.  Not sure what it is about this game that doesn't seem to like JTK.

On the first page of this topic, not the first post, but the second, has links to the MM7fc and MM8fc.  The MM8fc link goes to their site, but the MM7fc link doesn't.  Can some one provide a link to the site.

In general though, can someone post links, to all three sites of these games, in one post?  So their easier to find.  I enjoy going to their sites, I go to them 2 or 3 times a week.  Awesome stuff.

Plus, when they are done with the Rockman and Forte, which game should be next?  I vote the other Rockman and Forte: Challenger from the Future.

They're coming to take me away
