The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Gundam Ace magazine will officially announce on April 26 that an anime adaptation of Harutoshi Fukui's Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn space robot novels has been green-lit for this winter. The Gundam Unicorn story is mainly set in the year of Universal Century 0096 — three years after Char's Counterattack, the last anime to feature the protagonist Amuro and antagonist Char of the first Gundam anime series. Before penning Gundam Unicorn, Fukui wrote the stories of the C-blossom - case729 and Samurai Commando: Mission 1549 manga.

No idea about this but sounds like fun.

The Unicorn fanbase in Japan must be ridiculously huge, since Sunrise NEVER animated any of the side stories before (SEED MSV and Evolve don't count).

While officially, there is no announced format yet, there have been rumors for a long time that Unicorn will not be a series but a movie trilogy. That or an OVA series seems the most likely.

Worldwide simultaneous release planned.

Especially after the last few Gundams like Seed, 00 and what not but what of Tomino, is he still killing them all nowadays?

The last time Tomino did a Gundam series was back in 1999. That was Turn A Gundam and that was definately had a much much more lighthearted tone than Victory Gundam back in 1992. I don't think he directed ANYTHING since then. And I doubt that he'll direct Unicorn, unless I missed something about him being involved in the project.

He won't. Tomino said ages ago that he's tired of the franchise.

And anyone who's even skimmed thrue Unicorn will easily know it's NOT going to be a series. There's not enough material for even a 13 episode one. The most people will get is a 3 part OVA. possible even just an ONA like Stargazer.

Also the main looks like [parasitic bomb]. The real main should have been Purustitute.

The Gundam Big Expo event in Tokyo and the official website for the anime adaptation of the Gundam Unicorn novels have confirmed on Friday that the anime will launch in the spring of 2010 in the form of six original video anime volumes of 50 minutes each. The anime will be presented on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, shown at events, distributed through unspecified means, and exhibited overseas.

Bumping this thread because the other one is filled with Setsuna being a dumbass. Please don't merge them.
For those of you that don't know, Bright's new voice actor has been announced for Unicorn on account of his old one dying and all.

It's Ken Narita aka that guy who voices Orange in Code Geass.

I can't imagine how this will turn out. Bright's new uniform looks pretty stupid already.

Wow, you guys suck. You never reply to any of the threads that I revive.

Well whatever.

I don't give a crap about this, but I'm posting in the thread because our fellow user and my dearest lover Matou Sakura wanted me to.
Here.
Are you happy now, my love?

I actually love what I've seen so far in this Gundam series. I just forgot about it, along with many other stuff. Unicorn is sorta reminiscent of Legend of The Galactic Heroes (need a [parasitic bomb] load of patience to watch this, but it's worth it), I wish more anime followed the classical art and music.

If he follows the patterns of the others who made an appearance after Zeta (Hayato in ZZ, Amuro in CCA) then he'll get killed off :v

Given that he's just a cameo or what Unicorn is though, that's pretty unlikely.

Also it seems that there is a rumor going around that Kou will also get a cameo in Unicorn.

I'd have much much less of a problem with Kou dying then Kai!
