I don't know if thus truly happens in real life but do defeats in action anime really equal friendship? I guess once someone has experienced the 'agony of defeat' they come to fear the person who had defeated them and become their 'friends', what hurts more than a wound from 'friend'? I don't know whether this is truly friendship or just plain brainwashing (or whatever the term is) to come around to that person's point of view but I don't believe that beating the crap out of some poor guy means 'friendship' or anything of that nature yet I see it all the time in shows like Bleach, Nanoha or even some other action show where the hero gets allies by beating them or 'befriend' them with their superior moral aptitude via fighting power. Is this truly realistic or I do just need to experience this in real life to get an accurate assessment of this?

not everyone has a change of heart after being defeated. some get really bitter, which is far more realistic. and some only lay off a little bit, turning a hatred into a simple rivalry. like Vegeta after the Frieza saga..

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

How many episodes of Nanoha would I have to watch to get to the acclaimed befriending?

Is this truly realistic or I do just need to experience this in real life to get an accurate assessment of this?

Sure, why would anime portray reality unrealistically?

...Just so I'm clear on this, you're gonna go kick someone's ass, or have your ass handed to you, and hope you become that person's friend?

There's no logic behind anime character's actions, but rather the people who wrote those actions for them. If it happens, it happens because the director told it to.

Reminds me of Mucha Lucha, though it's not technically an anime, but I am sure it applies to Bakugan or Beyblade, which are. It probably applies to Pokemon as well, probably has whoever makes a friend, winds up in the opening of the show.

"Be a friend, by beating the [parasitic bomb] outta them and learn needless morals in the end!"

So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Actually, when I was still taking fencing lessons, there was the occasional time when I was up against someone at exactly the same skill level as me, and those times were by far the most fun and exciting - I could easily see bonding with my opponent post-duel if it weren't for the way it was set up, everyone switching around after a victor is declared.

As do Zero and Omega.

I can give you an accurate assessment.  When I was regularly harrassed and/or beaten up, I grew to loathe my tormentors with a burning passion.  Other people I knew who were harrassed and/or beaten up also grew to loathe their tormentors with a burning passion.  If you're routinely beaten up, you grow to loathe your tormentor with a burning passion.

Unless you're some kinda masochist.  To which I say to each their own...

If it's a really close match in a tournament of some sort without knowing the other person beforehand, there's a slight chance. Otherwise... hell no.

I can give you an accurate assessment.

But were there superpowers involved? Superpowers are very important.

Ooh, good point.  Here, I was more concerned with the average schmoe, but apparently GAP was curious about those who're above and beyond us mere mortals.  Well, in that case... I can't accurately answer that.  Anyone here with superpowers?

I say that if it's something competitive, like a tournament, then friendship is certainly a possibility. However, if it's a life or death situation, no [tornado fang]ing way that'd ever happen: "Oh hi, I'm the guy that was trying to kill you 5 minutes ago, lets be friends :D"

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.
