Man, you sure do focus on trivial [parasitic bomb] in your video games.

What, like Morrowind and so on? You seriously think they were like Metroid Prime?

Making someone run away 'cause they realise their arguments are terrible still counts as winning the encounter, right?

I mean, I do get experience for this. Right?

Man, I remember the first time I heard about people ejaculating on figures.

God, I feel so old now.

So what you're saying is that you can't actually think of any games that were like it, then.

How about if it had a different title, would it be special then? And like no metroids/space pirates/samuses/whatevers. How about then?

Notice earlier I said similar, not same. Very different here. Of course it's not going to be exactly the same, but the base idea behind the mechanics can be. Again, in the context of innovation, which was the issue before, it's similar. Once more, Metroid Prime did what it did very well, but it's not necessarily innovative.

But making an FPS like Metroid Prime was innovative. What other games were there that were like Metroid Prime? That whole FPS wander around everywhere getting lost type of gameplay, what other games were like that?

You can name me some games that were like OoT that were released before it while you're at it, too.

(Also Talyn said the gameplay between Zelda games was the same and you agreed, so...)

Is it my asperger-autism or did I got just a strong hit on my head while I was asleep?
I don't [tornado fang]ing know.  X(

what if it's both

Whoever conceived the idea of those things must be a psychotic sociopath intent on killing the head of state of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The level where they're all in cages and you have to be all dodgy dodgy is pretty fun though.

So do you guys think that Metroid Prime has the same gameplay as Super Metroid? Serious question.

Yeah? What, you can't play games unless you find every aspect of them perfect? And I'm mostly complaining about Cave games, anyway. Mushihime and Deathsmiles and so on. The stage 3 boss in DDP Daifukkatsu, oh my gooooooooood.

But whatever let's talk about operating systems. Anyone here actually try the Nanami theme? Because I listened to it, and it sounds like it'd get old pretty damn fast. Like half the sounds take way to long to play, too. Like three seconds of speech for one action? Way too long.

Aren't you not meant to want to [tornado fang] moe things? I thought the point was that you were meant to want to adopt them or somethin'.

But I mean seriously you can have girls if you want just christ don't put them EVERYWHERE. I want to play as a space plane or somethin', not some flying little girl who won't shut up.

For the whole OoT thing... my problem with that whole argument (again) is the word innovative. They were doing what was the norm by that point. They did it well, but still the norm... what was expected.

What other games were there that were like OoT when it came out?

Yet you say OoT isn't the same as LttP? Gameplay-wise, they're quite similar.

I see that's something I forgot to consider, and what's all the UU and UO stuff that you and Hypershell talk about when regarding Garchomp and other pokemon?

Tiering. Y'know how some pokemon are great, and others aren't? Like Dragonite and Altaria. Dragonite has great stats, and a good movepool. Altaria is worse at pretty much everything. So, if you give people the choice, everyone is gonna use Dragonite over Altaria, 'cause why wouldn't you? Doing otherwise is just handicapping yourself. The solution is to put them in different tiers. Really great pokemon have the uber tier, where everyone plays with uber pokemon. OU pokemon are still good, but they're worse, so they have their tier where people don't use ubers, because it's unfair. UU are even worse, so they get a tier where OU and uber pokemon are banned, so everyone can still use Altaria without Dragonite making him look bad.

Obviously nothing forces people to play with bans on tiers, but it can still be a good way to gauge pokemon power. You look up Altaria, notice it's UU, so it's not that good. Dragonite, OU, probably a better pokemon. Garchomp, uber, very good pokemon. There are arguments over where pokemon deserve to be placed, of course, but still, it's generally reliable.

41
Don't think of 10 pokemon. You can't play 10v10. Just focus on putting together a team of 6 for now, and make sure they work together. It's deeper than just specific roles for each pokemon, you've really gotta think about it. You mentioned Mamoswine/Metagross/Roserade on the defence, and maybe they could work, but if you look, every single one of them is weak to fire. Bad. Look at how your team is put together, so you can avoid stuff like that. Think about what threatens each individual pokemon you've got, and then look at the rest of your guys and see what you've got that can counter it. Y'see how I beat Akamaru twice, even though all my pokemon are UU? That's 'cause my team works together, and his doesn't. Your pokemon aren't working alone, they're working together. Either you put together a team that really works together, or you're gonna lose. And that's that.

tldr SYNERGY SYNERGY SYNERGY

(also swear at him until he stops using garchomp. garchomp is just bullshit.)

42
So what was your team again? I'm thinkin' you're not using tiers, so it's probably just pokemon you like, but I can at least make some recommendations.

43
Why not just figure out what spread you want, and only train one of each? Seems like a lot less effort.

44
I find it hilariously ironic that pretty much everybody who plays PokeMon competitively shoots for the same individual values, 31s all around.

If everybody's going for 31 IVs in Speed and whatever attacking/defending stat(s) your PokeMon uses, then where's the individuality?

There are better ways to be an individual. Different team composition, different movesets, different EV spreads, different items, they all do a better job than having a suboptimal set of randomly generated numbers.

You're one of those guys who takes skill focus in basket weaving, eh?

45
Someone do me a favor and explain this EV/IV [parasitic bomb] and Nature [parasitic bomb] to me in terms that I can understand and why it is so important.

EVs are basically a second type of experience, just for stats instead of levels. Kill something and get 4 attack EVs, your attack permanently goes up by one. Kill enough things to get 252 attack EVs, your attack goes up by a total of 63. Just you've got a cap of 510 EVs overall, and you're only allowed 252 in a specific stat, so you can't max out everything. So an Alakazam who's been grinding away at the right things will probably have 252 special attack and 252 speed, whereas one that just picks fights at random will probably have his EVs spread among every stat he's got. Chances are that Alakazam will benefit from having a higher speed over having higher HP or whatever, so that's why they're important.
IVs are just slightly random stats on pokemon. Every pokemon species has base stat totals that you can easily look up, then they get a random bonus of 0-31 points, generated when you first see them. Sometimes it's important, sometimes it isn't. Alakazam from before doesn't care about physical attacks, so no issues even if his attack IV is 0. But speed or something, that can really matter. If he faces another Alakazam, and the only difference is their speed IV, then it basically decides who's faster, and who's gonna hit the other guy in the face with a Shadow Ball first.

So yeah EVs = experience, but for stats instead of levels. IVs = preset bonuses to stats. That's it.

46
Wrong one?  You should have warned me there would be Ubers...I had no chance, yet was able to take down two at least. 8D

Says the guy who used Ttar and Dragonite against a UU team.

KOTOR is more moddable. I have sex with aliens in MY KOTOR. 8D

It's a damn tragedy that Xbox players miss out on this [parasitic bomb], isn't it?

I mean this is the very reason I'm training 10 pokemon, and possibly more when White comes out, so I can cover my weaknesses and such.

Shouldn't you focus on making an actual team of 6 first? It'll be a lot easier to see what you need to replace when you've actually had some experience with how your current guys work.

KotOR sucks, you don't get to have sex with any aliens at all.

I'm glad Bioware realised what their games were missing by the time they made Mass Effect.
