Video game stuff.  Some Megaman and other things.

If there is another HnK game coming out, I'll definitely play it.

Provided, y'know, it's not broken or anything...

In "Mario's" defense there is a legitimate reason for practicing such tactics:  Snaking revenge.  Thankfully most of them have moved on, but if you are unfortunate enough to run into them again, annoyance is your only recourse (well, besides hacking a Battle stage and waiting for them to do something that crashes their game, thus forcing a disconnect/loss on their end).

But I'm not even that adept at snaking... :|

So "snaking revenge" is (or was) common practice on wi-fi?  I don't even remember snaking that much during the match, and the guys playing weren't even that great.  Still, that's a technique (snake revenge) I'd expect from from a 5 year-old.  I still find it funny that I ended up winning anyway, the "revenger" disconnected sometime during the next race.

Gaming / Worst experience while gaming online?
« on: February 09, 2009, 01:43:11 AM »
What was your worst experience ever in an online game?  For me, it was last night while playing Mario Kart DS (worldwide setting).  I was playing with 2 other people (1 disconnected), and we were on the 3rd stage, which happened to be Yoshi Falls.  I was pretty much whooping them, but they weren't too bad.  I noticed that this one guy would just sit still for a while and wait for me to overlap him.  I simply paid him no mind, until he did something really annoying.

The guy (using Mario) gets a star, and runs over me.  Normally, it's not a big deal; after all, it's what most people do when they get one.  However, the guy switches into reverse and runs me over again.  Then he pulls forward again and hits me again.  The annoying part was that it was inescapable.  He hits me with this "combo" of his until the effect of the star runs out, and then he pulls off, despite the fact that he was already lapped.  The other opponent took advantage of this and won that race.

Times like this make me wish voice chat was an option in that game.   >_<

Just curious, anyone interested in having a Pokemon battle anytime soon?

Here's my UU team; they're all EV trained and ready to go, so if anyone's interested in having a battle, let me know!  I still need to get a few items from the Battle Tower, but I'm otherwise ready.  Interestingly enough, Smogon has apparently dropped the BL tier from the D/P section.  A lot of Pokemon have been dropped into UU now, which shakes things up a bit.

I'm considering Rapidash, Scyther, or Dodrio for the third slot.  Those 3 are the fastest UU sweepers in the game, and can potentially put a dent in things.  Decisions, decisions...  :\

I'd have to say Dash-Jump.  I enjoy doing armorlesss runs, and you usually can't air dash during those (sans X7-8).  It certainly makes boss-fights more interesting as well.

...Why have 2 normal types and a Shuckle?

Clefable is for Toxic Orb abuse (Magic Guard).  I put some Ev's into attack, and a base 140 Facade hurts.  Lopunny, with it's Klutz ability, can hold a Lagging Tail and Switcheroo it onto something else.  Shuckle is pretty much a wall, and I gave it Stealth Rock as well.

Your team's lookin' pretty slow there. Might wanna get something fast and dangerous so you can fight back against anything with decent speed + swords dance. Dodrio or something. I dunno, I'm not good at UU. Or, well, any tier, really, but I'm worse at UU.

That's actually not a bad idea.  8)  Dodrio could be a viable option to my team.  I will note that Lopunny is actually faster than Dodrio, though, and the one I'm using is Jolly with maxed-out Speed EV's.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on what to have in regards to a Pokemon team?  I'm working on a UU team now, but I'm still contemplating who the 6th member should be.  Heck, this is the first time I've ever EV trained anything as well.  Here's what I've got so far:

Clefable
Shuckle
Lopunny
Lanturn
Sandslash

Some members of my team are used for playing tricks (i.e. Switcheroo), Sandslash is a Rapid Spinner/Physical Sweeper, Lanturn is a special attacker/sponge, and Shuckle is a wall.  I'm considered Xatu and Cloyster, but I'm still a little stuck.

So many choices...   :o

I'm actually gonna vote Mecha Knuckles.  I though he was pretty cool, and he was an absolute beast in Sonic R.

I have to go with X7 myself.  I wasn't overly too fond of the game itself, but the music was pretty nice.  It's usually a general rule that bad games have good music (in my experience anyway).

I was initially Blue Robot, which represents Megaman.  Blue happens to be my favorite color as well.  So after the forum crash, I decided to just stick with "Blue", as it's more simple.

Yeah, using unexpected Pokemon is always fun.  I'd have to say I like the UU/BL tier the best.  I never really liked the concept of using legendaries/ubers.  I just catch them for the sake of owning them; I never actually use them on people.  Heck, my legendaries just sit in the box all day, untouched.

Besides, whooping someone with a UU Pokemon is so much more enjoyable than doing it with an Uber.  8)

And yeah, shooting and searching was done a lot better in SA2 than in any later title, even if as a character I prefer Gamma.  I just wish Tails had on-foot stages instead of being a freaking mech pilot, but for Eggman it works great (love that concealed boxing glove, I crack up all the time at that one).

Yeah, the mechanicc played out better in SA2, but I would still rather play as Gamma in that regard.  I actually liked the fact that you had to rack up combos in order to give you more time in the stages; that's a pretty unique effect.

Personally, I think it hurts Tails' image when he's always in that mech.  It's like he's hiding behind it or something.  Gone are the days where Tails bravely took shots for Sonic (0:08-0:33).

SA2 pulled that off even if it was for only one stage.

I forgot about Cannon's Core.  Even then, Knuckles' power, ability to swim, and glide could give him the ability to go places Sonic can't (i.e. S3&K).

Ice (and water) has always been my favorite element to use.  With the advent of Snow Warning and the 100% Bizzard accuracy in Hail, ice teams are pretty great.  Still, you've gotta be careful;  Fire types can be particularly dangerous. (Infernape can be a threat, as well as some others.)  However, the fact that you are a direct counter to a lot of Legendaries/Ubers is a good feeling.
