In the meantime, you can curb your appetite at my thread. I have more fun stuff over there. Or you can go straight to the channel, which has all that and moar.

2
PROTIP: The X4 BGM folder for PC is structured the same as X5's. The only thing you need to watch for is the two Sigma boss themes are reversed.

As for modifying the voices, that requires some hex editing skill to change the in-game audio. The pre-fight boss quips are actually stored in the BGM folder, and are much easier to manage. However, only Colonel, Iris, Double, General, and Sigma's lines will play in the non-Japanese versions, regardless of whether or not the correct files for the 8 mavericks are in there.

I think the routines that call up the maverick lines are in the game's .exe, but I don't have the skills necessary to re-enable them. If I could, I'd add those back in, as well as the extended version of the intro from the Japanese version.
... Outside of the cut maverick lines, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to mod the game's audio to give the game a decent dub, there's probably someone already working on that.
3
Now this is a dub I wish was in the U.S. version.
And hopes to be modded into the PC port.

It's only a fantasy!

Be careful what you wish for...

4
It's truly amazing what can appear when nobody's looking.
Haha, thank you, I appreciate it. Words of encouragement go a LONG a way for one-person dev. squads.
5
Market analysis for a project.

If I said outright what it was for, it would ruin the fun.
I understand that I have my own thread, but considering what kind of artist I am, it would probably give the surprise away, not to mention actually following the URL reveals literally everything.
Isn't this the part of the forum where the fan-created content goes?

I remember seeing a few times that the new translation of Part 4 has already been finished.

The updated ver. by Invincible Trio is almost there, just waiting on a volume and a half-ish.

Took out the original stupid charge shot sound effect:

On an unrelated note, my MegaMan-related works are a VERY small fraction of my work. If you like what see here, feel free to browse through my various accounts at <a href=http://www.youtube.com/user/juvenilejrocker>YouTube</a>, <a href=http://soundcloud.com/unbalnzd>SoundCloud</a>, and <a href=http://sparkchaser92.deviantart.com/>devART</a>, or even my <a href=http://unbalnzd.blogspot.com/>blog</a>.

For example, the song I snuck into <a href=http://rockmiyabi.webs.com/12unbalnzd.html>my entry for RockMiyabi's contest</a>:

This is a montage of late 90's PSX titles. It's not entirely MegaMan related, but the MegaMan segments take up at least half the video.

I still think that it was a dick move but eh...If it is a worthy finale then I wouldn't complain.

Wouldn't be the first time AIC's done this. Most recent example I can think of that's similar to how they handled P4A, would be how they did Ore no Imouto.

For the TV broadcast of Ore no Imouto, they made the last episode end contradictory to the novels, and then went and webcasted a bunch of new episodes based on the actual events a while later.

At least they didn't pull a School Days and stuck us with "BAD END. PERIOD."

They managed to take the best parts of the game, and make them even better. The extra musical references in the Tatsumi Port Island episode made my day.

I'm surprised anyone here has actually seen it. It was nice while it lasted, it's too bad they cut it short.

I was introduced to this series via Pretty Sammy, since word on the street has it that Misao's character design for BPS was (literally) recycled from there. So I checked it out... turned out pretty good. It quickly became one of my favorite shows.

So upset to find out it was cancelled, and we'll NEVER know what lies behind those menacing twintails. I haven't been this bugged out since Woody's Roundup!

Why does this remind me of an abridged anime? I'm gonna watch this.

... is that what I sound like?

Good game everyone. I totally feel you on the whole "everybody wants to hold a contest at the same time" feeling. That's part of the reason why the Auto project only got so far, next to starting so late in the game.

Maybe I should try finishing the Auto project for next time. =p

I've heard his work before. I liked the majority of his conversions, save for MetalMan's.

The high pitched instruments were another reason why covering MetalMan's stage was painful (literally). Since I did that cover by ear, I had to listen to it over and over... I don't know how I could play this game for hours when I was a kid, since my head was spinning while doing this...

Quote
If anyone were to try to redub X7 again, I'd suggest getting a rewrite first. Whether it be altering the English script a bit or translating the Japanese script more directly.

While working on the redub project, I compared the English script with the Japanese audio that was in the game. According to my old notes, there aren't that many disrepencies with the scripts, save for some of the in-game boss battle samples. Rather, the problem with this translation is that it was rather direct, rather than adapted to sound more casual. When adapting written works into different languages, interpretation plays a very large factor for both the translator and the audience. Sometimes context clues are lost in the translation process, which can radically change the meaning of certain sentences. Zero's "Huh, wait a second" line is a perfect example of this.

Another fine example would be Flame Hyenard's infamous "BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND!" vocal samples. The chant consists of two samples: One sample had Hyenard shouting "moe! (Moh-eh!)", followed by "moe yagare! (moh-eh yah-gah-reh!)". Both can be translated as "Burn!", and "Burn to the ground!" respectively. However, since Hyenard is PROGRAMMED to spam these lines at a fast rate, he sounds awkward even in japanese. Since the english samples have a longer runtime than the original japanese ones, it becomes even MORE awkward.

Bear in mind that voiceover artists are also considered part of the "audience" that the translator is translating for. If the translation can be misinterpreted by you, the same can go for them too. I have nothing against Merluzzi, (I actually rather like his performances as Iori from KOF and Shiraz from Musashiden II) but I think he got kinda lost while recording for this game. Same goes for Axl's actor Leene Hardt, whom I also have nothing against as long as she's playing a female character.

I feel that one of the major reasons why the english dub tanked, was that the majority of the cast was somewhat miscast, or got lost in translation.

... with the exclusion of Peter Von Gomm (X), whom I cannot bear to listen to, period.

I can understand why the game is disliked so much, (by Inafking himself, even,) but if there was anything the game had going for it, it was the music. There were some pretty catchy tunes in that game. I wonder why there aren't that many musicians who cover tracks from this game?

Once upon a time, there was a MegaFan dissatisfied with the quality of the X7 english dub track, so he decided to take matters into his own hands.

... and then he remembered that X7 was absolutely unfun to play. Crying, "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR" he abandoned the project.

This is all that remains of that project:

Nice to meet you all. I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades type of artist, as I have no exact specialty. However, I'm a bit of a MegaManiac so I've a few works dedicated to the blue bomber, some of which are kind of dated:
