Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

20 hours in, and I'm loving every moment of it. Oh the joy that I can finally go on adventures and find new djinnis. <3

Okay, it's been ages since the time I played Heroes of Might and Magic IV, so hearing that Okami track...
I wouldn't know the difference if someone swapped the tracks.

I happen to have MadCatz's standard Street Fighter 4 stick, but I have taken the thing apart and replaced the buttons and the stick with Sanwa's parts. Wish I had the SF4 TE stick, but I got the replacement parts and the stick for about 50 euros so I guess it's not that big of a deal.

I don't really have any previous experience with Guilty Gear or BlazBlue, yet I preordered (European release) Continuum Shift for XboX 360 as they had a nice price for it over at Zavvi. I don't really have much experience with fighting games (Street Fighter 4 was the first one I bought or played in ages), so gotta see about BlazBlue. I for one really liked how Guilty Gear played out when I managed to play it that one time, and I like the flashiness in GG and BB.

I've no real idea what character I'm going for, but as I usually always start with the "coolest character" I'm either going with Bang or Hakuman first.

And speaking of my preorder, it should arrive by tomorrow or the day after that.

As an indie game developer of sort, I'm very easily inspired by games with great stories in them (Metal Gear Solid, Policenauts, Nine hours - Nine persons - doors etc). As I'm in the duty of doing the script writing and planning the stories, I end up taking influences from there and there and make a story of my own. It's pretty rare when I actually write a story, that seems like a completely original idea, but I go with the "everything's been done once" idea and don't hesitate to use similiar plot twists or plot devices.

Playin' 9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors.

I love it, a bloody brilliant visual novel if you ask me. Also the creepy atmosphere just feels so damn right.

I'm onto Golden Sun: Dark Dawn quickly after I'm done with this.

What we should do is focus on developing DoI right now (well, when I get there and afterwards, haha). After which move onto Projectile

Hm? Some discussion between me and my buddy, as we are starting to make games. "DoI" is supposed to be the first game we release and so on.

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?
« on: December 06, 2010, 03:52:08 PM »
Finished watching Macross Frontier: The False Diva. It was pretty good retelling of Frontier's story, but I think the original anime has a more complete story and ending, but I guess this movie is still worth the watch. The changes they did to the story makes it feel a bit like Macross Zero to me.

Gotta say that my favorite from the Macross series is Macross: Do You Remember Love? My least favorite is Macross Plus (didn't bother with watching Macross II).

Well, it's Finland's independence day and for whatever reason, I had to check if there's a vocaloid version of the national anthem. Well, there is.

I'm studying math, physics and chemistry mostly. None of which will have any impact on my job career, though.

I really don't understand what happened at bomb man stage and some wily stages. Looked like he just completed the stage by blowing up a bunch of enemies all at the same time.

There are some hidden values behind the game's code, and abusing certain values makes it possible that destroying a bunch of enemies clears the stage, as it is said here. These values and hacking they mention really make me wonder how Mega Man 1 works in the end.

Just noticed that Play-Asia just today shipped the game, so it's definetely going to be late for December 10th.  :|

I wouldn't be surprised if the game costs over 50 euros (about 66 USD) in here in Finland in some stores.

That's really why I preordered this from America, but it just hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it does before December 10th (the day it's released here).

I'm spending more money than I should (yesterday spent 120 euros on buying christmas presents for my parents and siblings), but as a student it kinda makes the life more challenging when you try to just manage to live with a life style like that.

Bought Mega Man 8, X4, X5 and X6 from an eBay auction for 63 USD (+shipping). They are NTSC versions, but I've a PS2 that can play imported games.

Not too bad, and from the pictures the seller showed they were in pretty good condition.

My Mega Man collection is getting bigger (owned just PAL X5 prior to this purchase)!  *o*

Yeah, I've that problem with Super Dimension Fortress Macross especially. The final ten episodes (if my memory serves right, can't remember the exact number), is mainly just about the relationships between the character because they were yet to be solved while there's not much else going on the background. The relationships could have been handled in a more interesting way (which they did with Macross: Do You Remember Love? as it's a different take on the events in a movie form), but I guess it was still fun enough to watch.

Also, I'm a sucker for love triangles apparently. Guess that's why I enjoy Macross, as it combines both mechas and love triangles.

Okay, that's pretty interesting right there. I like to read and theorize about different kinds of biological life that is not composed like how 'normal' life on Earth is, so this is fairly interesting. Even if it's just bacteria, and nothing bigger than that.

I wonder if, given enough time, that bacteria could slowly evolve to some other bigger organisms.

For Contra 4 the game is currently out of stock, we are ordering from our
supplier, and still waiting for them to confirmed.

Some message from Play-Asia as I had messaged them about a few of my orders that are not shipped yet.

I decided that I should today finish one of my unfinished games now that exam week is over.

I picked up my DS and noticed Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright: Justice For All was inside, and I then remember I'm on the last case. Time to start cracking the case!

I used to watch Silver Fang too. It was great, but it had some blood and gore. ^^;

Silver Fang was a big thing over here when the anime came out on VHS, and especially the blood and gore was something unheard of in an animated show about dogs. I know some people who still follow the series by buying the mangas that are published here. Also I always thought that the opening song was cool as heck.

Also regarding other favorite animes of mine, why the heck did they replace the opening theme in Cyborg 009's Finnish adaption with something that almost sounds like a track from porn industry or something with an extra slap of weird lyrics on top of it.

It does, but it doesn't have the same effect as using fire chip + charged attack with Zero in a forest stage in MMZ or so.

...And even then, it's a stage enemy burning the forest as far as we can see in the game. Show us some BUUURNer Man!

Better not forget the remix album OCR released quite a while back. It's loaded with awesomeness.
But seriously, Wise did such a spectacular job on DKC2 considering SNES limitations.

ASTRO LANCE!!

Also for what I'm thinking now, I finished watching the last season of 24 (I watched it from Finnish TV). I thought the ending was a bit of a let down, considering what had happened, so I had wished for something more epic or so. Ah well, it was a nice show and I think Jack Bauer was a pretty cool character.

I also thought that it was quite lame that Burner Man had a forest stage, yet he didn't put it on fire or anything. He just waited there, seemingly burning nothing.

I just realized something while reading Mega Man Mega Mix vol. 3...

Never having played Wily Wars I never read about Buster Rod G, so I thought that was pretty cool when I discovered this from the manga. Starzinger being my childhood favorite show afterall. As in fact, Starzinger is just Journey to the west sci-fi'd.

Edit: Meh, realized this should have been in the other topic, but I rather lazy to fix that.

It's a temple equipped with hi-tech technology, left by the ancients perhaps?... Yeah. His stage is rather unfitting for sure.
I didn't really think about it back in the days when I played the game. Not until years later when I started to think the "Centaur" part in his name, I understood what's wrong with it.

Also as rather off-topic, I also think Shadow Man has a rather unfitting stage too. Sewers, really?... Unless you're thinking about TMNT.
