Gaming / A Street Fighter for Every Generation
« on: December 03, 2010, 07:56:50 PM »
I kinda wish Capsule Computers made earlier SF Titles for the DS-DSi. And remade The Original Street Fighter, so it can be more known and actually playable.

But moving on... basically choosing a Street Fighter character(or two) from every generation of the entire series... excluding EX.

1st Generation:Street Fighter I: Fighting Street
Zero Generation:Street Fighter Alpha 1: Warrior's Dreams - Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX
2nd Generation: Street Fighter II: The World Warrior - Super Street Fighter II: Turbo Revival X: The Grand Master Challenge: High Definition Remix
3rd Generation: Street Fighter II: New Generation - Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
4th Generation: Street Fighter IV - SUPER Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
Final Fight:
Saturday Night Slam Masters:
5th Generation?: Your Thoughts

NOTE: The character has to debut in their respective generation, and Final Fight and Saturday Night Slam Masters/Muscle Bomber shares the same Universe as Street Fighter... as well as Captain Commando(but let's not talk about that).

Off The Wall / Full Costumes and Costuming
« on: October 28, 2010, 03:08:17 AM »
Ever since I have learn about these two concepts, I became fond of them. I have always(well, almost) did see a bit of charm in them. Trying to become a different being and never saying a word... well, alomst never.

Link Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kigurumi

So, what are(or wre) your thoughts on these concepts? Do you still find Fursuits and Kigurumi creepy and disturbing? Did you find any good pictures of them?

So what would creep you out the most? The very bad designs with little effort and it makes it obvious that that's a male in that suit, or the really good designs with pure effort and looks very ambiguous. And if there is actually a female in that suit...

The same can apply to Fursuits. And mostly how both act and potray.

I also realise something...

Some Mascot Coatumes used for advertising really are well-made.

Forum Games / Listing Your Favorites Using Pokemon Elemtents
« on: October 14, 2010, 05:35:09 AM »
This is simple. Just name your favorite characters, music, and/or otherwise in the catergory of the seventeen Pocket Monster Elements. This is base on the Pokemon Type Meme on Deviant ART.

I mean things relating to the elements, but not the monsters themselves. It can be different Creature Controller-type monsters, like your favorite Digimon. Or a One Piece character. That sort of thing.

Going in order would be Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electricity, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Darkness/Evil, and Steel.

I guess something like Light could be added.

Well, here's my example.

Normal: Sokka, Usopp, Captain Kuro
Fire: Kyo Kusanagi
Water:
Electric: Benimaru Nikado, Azula, SparkMan
Grass:
Ice: Sub-Zero, Blossom
Fighting: Popeye the Sailor, Ryo Sakazaki, Joe Higashi, Kim Dragon, Lois Griffin
Poison: Admiral Don Krieg,
Ground:
Flying:
Psychic: Mai the Psychic Girl, Mind Quad
Bug: Creepy Creature
Rock: Suika Ibuki,
Ghost:
Dragon: Donkey's Wife, Bowser Koopa Sr.
Dark: Soma Cruz, Venom
Steel: The Koopatrols, The Old Axe Armor, Jenifer "XJ9" Wakeman, DustMan

Anything that associate with the respective element. Characters, music, etc. If you can't complete the "17-Types" list, then go what you can.
If anyone saw this on TV Tropes Wiki, , I apoligize, I have a habit of doing this kind of crap.
Forum Games / Why, Back In MY Day...
« on: August 19, 2010, 06:25:16 AM »
I think we all had these moments once in a while. When people use phones to actually speak to them. When people got up to change the channel, When people have to settle for dirt for dinner.

This is not supposed to be a bash on the new generation. It's just... well... did you ever had these moments.

It seems that the new generation of young gamers(less than 14) are more interested in mature games, wrestling games, and hip, trendy stuff. When I show them a gameplay of KOFXI for PS2, they looked at it in disgust and called if fakey and didn't like the sprites.

Is it me or do kids of this generation show no respect of classic gaming?

Rockman Series / Boss Dissonance
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:57:22 AM »
Yes, that's right. A TV Trope.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BossDissonance

The difficulity of a boss goes in two ways.

Kirby Type: Where the Bosses are harder than the stages. Named after the Kirby of the Stars games for their cakewalk stages(some of the enemies don't even pay attention to you), but annoying bosses(raise your hand if Meta Knight kicked your ass).

Mario Type: Where the Bosses are EASIER than the stages. Named afters the Super Mario Bros. series for their frustrating stages(The time limit does NOT help. Kaizo games make things MUCH worse!), but moderatly PREDICTABO bosses(Most bosses go down in 3 hits anf Bowser's arenas help the player more than they help him.).

MegaMan/RockMan is a mixed bag here. Stages like NeedleMan would fall under the Kirby Type of difficulity, while stages like RingMan would fall into the Mario Type.

But, I guess that depends on you. Here, you name your Mario and Kirby types... and maybe reasons.

Forum Games / A Little Anime/Cartoon Switcheroo Here.
« on: August 10, 2010, 07:27:32 AM »
So, what would happen if an Anime character were to enter a "cartoony" world/universe(something like Toontown) and vice versa?

Here is where you can post your thoughts.

NOTE: It doesn't have to be any specific character. It could be a generic one or even a personification of Stereotypical Cliches. Just remember your cartoon and anime history... and the tropes.

The Anime/Cartoon Laws of Physics will apply.

Entertainment / Villains Hesitating to Kill
« on: July 30, 2010, 04:37:41 AM »
How long have been annoyed by villains not killing the hero or other characters alreadly? This cliche annoy many, despite it's justifications. On eoculd point out the 007 baddies, but recently, I think the worst offender is Sideshow Bob

Gaming / The Capcom/SNK Playmore Debate
« on: July 23, 2010, 07:50:59 AM »
Because making a SSFIV vs KOFXIII would be obvious and overrated. During the time when arcades were alive, the was a major between Capsule Computers and Shin Nihon Kikaku. The Vs. games pretty much brung bsck that rivalry.

It seems that because they made the fighting game genre more popular, many paople are familiar with Street Fighter(especally the 2nd generation) than any other fighting game back then. Those that do remembrt will often call a non-Capcom fighter a ripoff. Art of Fighting and World Heroes get this a lot.

But anyway, thich Company do you prefer in terms of gameplay, characters, music, and appearence?

I did like that SNK Playmore tries to upgrade their characters, givivg them new attacks, new clothes, new sprites, and try their best not to make the characters just stereotypes. Capcom hardly uses sprites anymore.
Maybe I shouldn't have put this on a forums dedicated to a Capcom Title.
Off The Wall / Wanting to Hurt Someone
« on: June 23, 2010, 11:58:44 PM »
Don't you ever feel like... if someone was making you angry, you want to hurt them? I mean why not? Don't you think they deserve it? At best, it would satisfy yourself, wouldn't it?

Off The Wall / Fandom Stupidity
« on: May 27, 2010, 10:48:22 PM »
It is me or are fandoms gatting dumber? Jumping to conclusions, missing the point of things, etc.

Like for example, Many fanfreaks hated Cartoon Network's block, Miguzi(a Lighter and Softer Toonami aimed for a female audence, lasted from 2004 to 2006) for taking Toonami's place in the weekday lineups and moving Toonami to Saturdays. They consider Miguzi as Toonami's death and downfall, when that is NOT TRUE!

I bet you know some fanfreak idiocy much worse than mine.

Gaming / Kirby's Full and True Potential
« on: May 01, 2010, 01:49:33 AM »
Hmm... how far can Kirby go? We all know he has a black hole for a mouth and a crap factory. Then in later games, he has learned to copy enemies abilities. This has went ever further. He can combine his abilities with his friends, fused two abilities together, and create a "helper" from his used ability. The anime(although, non-canon) said he was meant to take a 200-year sleep. Imagine if he had reached that point. He probably could become a god then.

Take Fire Kirby. He could probabably spread Hellfire within a 10 mile radius, summon fiery meteors(or turn Rick into one), combine other abilities into more powerful firey variations, or summon an army of Hotheads, Burning' Leos, Fire Lions, Batafires, Heat Phan Phans, That Sub-Boss from KDL2 for GB, you know what I mean.

Hmm. I could also say that same thing for Soma Cruz and Shonoa.

Entertainment / Nickelodeon Fiction VS Cartoon Network Fiction
« on: January 31, 2010, 03:18:26 PM »
In the 80's Nickelodeon was basically the only kids network then. They would mostly show Third Party children's animated entertainment(back then, Nick Jr. show Kodomomuke Anime), as well as show original shows(live-action and game shows then), It wasn't until the 90's that the network decided to showcase 3 original, stand-alone animated shows(I guess to avoid third party license).

In 1992, a new network brocasted to dedicated itseft to classic cartoons(mostly and mainly William Hanna and Joe Barbera Fiction). While Cartoon Network was showcasting then, Nickelodeon was alreadly getting new material. In 1995, Cartoon Network decided to let new generation cartoonists to showcase their shorts one-by-one to see if they are worthy to be a Cartoon Network Original. Back then, they were called "World Primere Toons." Eventually, 1 short did get it's own show(It was the first World Primere Toon(or What-A-Cartoon) shown on the list). Later, 2 more were added.

While CN had 3(4 if you want to count The What-A-Cartoon Show) Cartoon Cartoons(what they were called then, before they scrub that name), Nick already had 8 Nicktoons(what they were called and still are) in that process. More from each side were added, and the rest is history(it also went downhill for both later).

I always saw a war going on between them. The "Marvel VS DC" of children's animated network. The FOX Kids VS Old Kids WB, then. The McDonalds VD Burger King.  You get my picture.

Is their still a rivalry going on? Is anyone picking favorites?

Off The Wall / A New World...
« on: January 27, 2010, 10:05:18 AM »
IN MegaMen X, Zero, and ZX, many Big Bads wanted to end the previous world and create a new world. This also reared it's head in Haruhi Suzumiya.

Many people believe this world has more negativities than positivities. Flawed in every way. Apperantly, people don't like the idea of being evil for fun in real life(don't know, why). Wars were made, lives were lost, hidden evil within humans and animals. Technology is considered disturbing the enviroment, causing pollution. Nature is cruel, urban living is a bit broken down, a history of sins, rivalries, batles, and arguments of practically everything(even non-important things). Basically, a living Hell.

There are peopel that want the world to end. They believe that it will be better than way. Many fictional baddies find their previous world flaw as well. Emotion and souls does not go well for them. The old world needs to go and a new world(in Heaven, Hell, or otherwise) can take its place in order for life to start over. The world needs to... reset... to make room for a new world. A new... utopia?

Does anyone believe a new world could really happen and replace the old one? Would anyone want that?

Rockman Series / Pokemon Elements for Super Robots
« on: December 30, 2009, 07:55:07 AM »
If any Robot Masters/Super Robots were to follow the Pocket Monster rule, which one or two elements(types) do you think would be appropriate for them? For example, WindMan could be both Flying/Fighting.

You could substitue flying for wind or air since some air based bots can't fly, like Hyper Storm H.

You can also add some Irregulars/Mavericks if you want.

Gaming / Western Video Game Fiction... A Bit Down?
« on: December 20, 2009, 05:27:55 PM »
Every time I look at western video games, the just look so off, so bland, so shallow. Mostly the premise than the gameplay. Gameplay-wise, it's mos likety using a gun to shoot something or a sword to hack n slash. Sure, there are a bit more variaties, but Moving about and shooting something seems the most common. Simulations seem like another.

Premise-wise, it's just basically a bland brown color. Characters and enviroments just seem too realistic for their own good. Some just seem not that interesting. And some that are are either short lived or changed drasticly.

I don't what to truly say. It's just that western game just lack a certain something that resides within Japanese games. Even a few Korean games has a certain something, but I don't kone what to describe it. If anyone has their own idea of what it is, feel free to.

Basically, What does Japanese games have that Western games lack and need?

Entertainment / Characters Never Aging
« on: December 18, 2009, 06:29:15 AM »
In most fiction, characters never age and and time hardy, if ever, moves. I believe this is because makings some changes can complicate things for the creators, as well as alienate their audence. But still, there are some things that should never change(namely icons), but are their series that you think should move forward and adapt?

Take Family Guy, for instance. Sure, all the other characters age and mature, but why does Stewie remain one? Would aging him to two cause some problems?

And this is probably one of the reasons why most people prefer the Digimon anime over the Pokemon anime. Even in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, the characters age. Of course, the video games were no better.

They don't even look 10.

Forum Games / The Bad Dudes Story
« on: December 13, 2009, 06:46:06 AM »
Anyone remember Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja for the Arcade and NES? It has one of the most famous Excuse Plots in video game history. You can simplify that plot with any story. Here's one.

Orihime has been kidnapped by the Arrancar. Are you a bad enough Shinigami Soul Reaper to save her?

And before that, Rukia has been kidnapped by the Soul Reapers. Are you a bad enough... uh, substitute to save her?

Anyone want to provide their own?
