Original / Your Top 8 Mega Man 10 Robot Masters?
« on: March 11, 2010, 01:15:46 AM »
Shoot me down if I broke the rules and lock this thread if it already exists, but I remember making a similar thread once Mega Man 9 was released.

What is your top 8 Mega Man 10 Robot Masters?

Mine will possibly change in the future:

8: Chill Man: Yeah, his mugshot is not good, his music is definitely made by a Battle Network composer which in this case sucks. Chill Man's name is a funny joke though and his stage is fun to play through. And he's also got one of the best weapons to use in the game, a spammable stunning ice shot.

7: Strike Man: A part of his theme sounds similar to Tornado Man, but this has a faster pace. I honestly haven't played enough with his weapon yet, but it looks good enough to use. Has the most annoying mini boss in the game. Has an okay design, other than that, not much to say.

6: Nitro Man: I choose to fight this guy first because he looked the toughest on the select screen. Has a fun stage, is a difficult boss and the music is also pretty good. His weapon has it's uses here and there.

5: Commando Man: His music sounds like someone is in peril, and time is lacking. I praise Commando Man of course for the traditional RM design, and he has a solid weapon reminding me of Pirate Man's remote mine. His stage is also one of the more difficult ones because of tricky jumps and spikes are in your way while you are waiting with patience for the sand storm to go away.

4: Blade Man: Great stage, great buildup and aftermath to his song, great weapon, but dislikable design and battle.

3: Sheep Man: Nice pop culture reference, instant classic Mega Man music is also to be found here, an original stage but sadly he seems to have the worst weapon in the game.

2: Pump Man: I like the design, his music is extraordinary and sounds as if you are entering a dangerous place, and his weapon is regarding offensive capabilities, superior to Jewel Man's Jewel Satellite. But weaker at defense though. He has a simple attack pattern on Normal mode, not sure yet about Hard Mode. And he uses a friggin handpump.

1: Solar Man: Great upbeating music right here! On Hard Mode, so far he is the most difficult with the Mega Buster only, he fights like a mix of Pharaoh Man, Fire Man and Quick Man but then on steroids. Doesn't has the best weapon, but his stage and battle pretty much scream "HARD" into our minds. After the in my opinion dissapointing Magma Man, Solar Man delivers fully and makes all of the fire elemental Robot Masters proud.

General / What did you get for Christmas?

Reserved.

I know that this topic is a little early, but Christmas really is right around the corner! And I kind of like to see the lists of gifts people have gotten from others during Christmas.

So, for now, let's just wait.

Fan Creations / Mega Man Data Cancelled.
« on: December 16, 2008, 04:19:47 PM »
This is the revival of Mega Man Data, an ongoing fan fiction about a head scientist who is about to experience the cruel present, and write history afterward. I will slowly start to post the old chapters, and after that, continue on with the story. Without further undo, I proudly present:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**Warning, long prologue!**

In late 22XX, man and machine are still heavy at war. The Maverick war is as a fact an ongoing long conflict for freedom, justice, safety and peace, to name a few reasons. About 100 years ago, infected Reploids called Mavericks were successfully wiped out and got extinct because the core of this provoking problem, the Sigma virus, was eliminated finally. The virus which was inside Sigma, an infamous rebel leader against humanity, was cornered and deleted by a successful antivirus program called Replenish.

Not one, but 10 copies of this program were used together at the same time during this process, when human scientists ordered Maverick hunters to take Sigma’s body found on the Moon to one of their Reploid laboratories so that the problem could hopefully be solved. Replenish was the result of a hard working scientist team studying the various viruses found during this terrible war, a team which was working for a sister company of the company who produced the first 2nd generation Reploids, Illusional Dergur Corporation, or IDC.

Before Replenish eliminated the Sigma virus, it was taken through large amounts of tests and challenges first in order for the humans to be certain that this had the potential to end the war. Several of these challenges was successfully deleting minor viruses such as the Nightmare virus from Mega Man X6, or implementing a semi different working Replenish inside Reploids who were currently produced, so that they would be immune to the known viruses from the start. These Reploids are also known as the 2nd generation Reploids.

Another challenge for Replenish was refreshing certain Reploids who were heavily infected, but sometimes not necessary berserk at the moment, such as the legendary Maverick hunter Zero, by upgrading their inner systems and protecting their hosts at the same time against errors and viruses as well. A negative side effect of implementing Replenish inside these subjects was that the host would be involved into an inevitable memory loss, or a lost of their past. This side effect resulted into very few refreshing operations during the prime age of the 2nd generation Reploids, making Replenish not truly recognizable until it eliminated the Sigma virus at the end of the rebellion of infected Reploids.

But perhaps the greatest disadvantage of Replenish was that producing the program inside metal chips involved using a great amount of electricity and magnetism as well, which resulted into a global energy crisis during the 2nd part of the ongoing Maverick war; the 2nd generation Reploids. Only a few companies such as Dergur Corporation during that time where legally licensed by the Maverick Hunter Headquarters to harvest from giant energy zones. Nevertheless, in the end, Replenish solved many troublesome problems, but also introduced the world to a new terrible problem; the Mavericks who were not infected but still rebelled against humanity and fellow Reploids and Maverick Hunters could now obtain the Replenish chips and use them in wrong ways.

One infamous wrong one was Lumine, who was a member from Dergur Corporation in the past. He somehow stole Sigma’s 2nd generation Reploids with the Sigma virus implemented inside them(Sigma himself stole the Reploids from IDC) and convinced them that they are the next step for Reploid evolution. Sigma himself was rumored to have implemented his DNA of the Sigma virus inside the Reploids without any support.

Suprisingly although Lumine was in fact another prototype of the 2nd generation Reploids, he opposed humanity and old generation Reploids alike after being inspired by Replenish, as Lumine himself said once during his short lived sudden return, mind controlling Axl in some way, directly talking to Zero and legendary Maverick Hunter X. But after Lumine’s act, numerous others followed after, each of them bringing more damage to the world than the last one. It was not until the latest wave of 2nd generation Reploids damaging the world who were during this time now officially called Replenloids that the Maverick Hunters Headquarters decided that it was time for the extinction of the Replenloids.

Illusional Dergur Corporation then replied with threatening to destroy the energy zones if production of Replenloids was made illegal by the MH HQ. Headquarters had no choice then but to label IDC as a Maverick Company and thus the Replenloids war started, the 2nd branch of the Maverick war , around half 22XX.

And now after 40 long years the founder and leader of IDC, Dergur, was killed in action, and the downfall of IDC was now a fact. Replenloids were now finally discontinued, by destroying the opposing Replenloids as well as stopping all the factories of IDC who were mass producing Replenish chips and 2nd generation Reploids. For a moment, a feeling of peace was felt through Maverick Hunters, Reploids and humans alike, but then a sudden twist occurred, a frightening one to be exact.

It seemed that Dergur left everyone a final gift after his death by unleashing many copies of Sigma’s virus worldwide and thus made almost 75% of all Reploids on Earth infected and labeled as Mavericks. Even if Replenish was still legal, it would had not stopped the massive amounts of the Sigma virus at once, which was much more than at the Eurasia incident in Mega Man X5. Since discontinuation of Replenish was now a fact and the beings on Earth would not go back to Replenish again in fear of a second Replenloid war, the sister company, which still existed, decided to start on a new project to stop the Mavericks. This time, the end result would had to be able to erase any virus, as well as many amounts of the Sigma virus at once, update infected systems against viruses and errors, while also not creating an energy crisis or memory loss. At the same time, Zero’s body was carefully getting researched by human scientists and a certain scientist, the female ancestor of Ciel, discovered Zero’s original virus and was successful into making an anti virus program out of the virus, called the Sigma Antibody program. With it, project Elpis was now begun and the creation of the Mother Elf had finally started. It was a sign of hope during these times when almost every place in the world was now horrible infected with thousands of Mavericks.

UPDATE.

Mnemonic CFM Tank Menu has been added at the beginning of page 4. Inside of it, you will find additional information for you to read about, which contains objects found throughout the story. There will be updates whenever possible, and in the story itself, Erstrund would also receive these new profiles, but I, the writer of Mega Man Data, will not implement most of the new profiles inside the story. You could consider it as a bonus for reading my story, or as a gameplay element, sort of like Secret Disks from the Zero serie, if this happened to be a game. However, some profiles will still be used in the story, so you can look forward to that. And lastly, profiles who already exist can suddenly grow larger as the story gets more, how should I say, thick. Look forward to it.

Gaming / Advance Wars Thread
« on: November 28, 2008, 10:51:09 PM »
Anyone else a huge fan of Advance Wars like me? I applaud Intelligent Systems for both Fire Emblem and this, but I slightly prefer Advance Wars because of the multiplayer factor.

Currently I own Advance Wars through Advance Wars: Dark Conflict and each game got better and better for me. They truly are sexy games, with kick ass music, a good involvement of strategy options and of course flawless gameplay for me personally. The rich cast of characters is also a great bonus.

If any of you want to have a match with me through WiFi in Dark Conflict, leave your friend code in here. If my memory serves right, that is all which is needed to play with others through WiFi.

You may also talk about the older games such as Famicom Wars or Gameboy Wars in here.

Original / Guess the Robot Master's location.
« on: November 19, 2008, 11:53:26 PM »
Alright, let's try to guess where the hell the Robot Masters are hiding out. I remember a topic like this from the past, so I decided to revive it in order to relive the entertainment of that once again. Here are my guesses:

Guts Man is busy with a construction somewhere in Canada.

Flash Man is in a giant slippery laser quest building in England.

Now, Top Man is very interesting. I believe he is somewhere in a wacko drug laboratory in North Korea.

Ring Man is somewhere in a deserted area just outside Las Vegas on his personal high space platform.

Charge Man is first on a train depot, then on a train somewhere near the border between Turkey and Georgia.

Flame Man is in a holy fire temple somewhere I guess in gee...India?

These are a few of my guesses. How many can you guess?

Gaming / A topic for every gamer.
« on: November 13, 2008, 03:55:52 PM »
Lately I have noticed how I have changed to play video games. In the past I used to focus on one singleplayer game at a time, and usually beat them or sometimes not, but in the present years I have been playing multiple singleplayer games at once because of the increased money I have obtained.

But here is the deal, sometimes when I am busy playing 2 different games, 3 different games, or heck even 4 different games during a period, I get frustrated. Frustrated to know what to do next in said game and frustrated to get used to the game's controls again each time I continue.

These past few days, I said to myself "[tornado fang] it" and decided to concentrate on one single game at a time, so that I can immerse and enjoy myself better. This only applies to me, but I think that I enjoy playing 1 game at a time more than playing multiple different singleplayer games.

Do note that I am talking about single player games, not multiplayer games. I believe that it is highly enjoyable to play multiple multiplayer games at once than playing 1 multiplayer game at a time, beating and unlocking everything, and forgetting about it.

So what is your take on this? What do you enjoy more?
