Mine's still good, hasn't cracked yet.
-
Full of greasy fingerprints. Black looks cool but gets dirty very quickly.
-
Just like I first got them, perfect.
-
White gets dirty too, especially in few hard-to-clean places. Other than that, it's perfect.
-
My good ol' original DS still serves me quite well. And my hinges and L & R buttons are still fine. Unlike SOMEONE I know! 8D
-
Original Silver DS FTW.
The R button is a bit crappy, and doesn't work sometimes, but other than that, it's fine.
-
My original grey's slot 1 is a dick all the time because one of the metal contacts got bent. when it breaks off, I'll have to solder a small piece of copper wire in the contact's place or buy an i.
-
perfectly fine other than greass finger prints.
-
Dirty, but they still work.
I'm still getting a DSi when I get the chance. Larger screen FTW.
-
with the cameras and crap, the DSi is like a pda that's really good for playing games on. if only it had 3G or something like that.
-
The hinges and L and R are fine just a few cracks not on the screen one of which I can flap but other than it works very well unlike my friends DS's that have been hacked and cracked to death.
-
Bought a special edition Pokemon DP DS Lite recently. No damage to report.
-
DS's, PSPs, etc aren't as fragile as people make them out to be. If people break theirs it's their own damn fault for not being able to take care of a pocket sized item.

True that, my original DS is still working properly but I have negligible self-control. 8)

I see wut u did thar. 8D

So far the only real incident I've ever had was dropping it off the bed. Not bad normally, but it bounced off the carpet and slammed into the railing.
No visable damage though.
PSP wise, the only thing I'm currently worried about is that little plastic...Thingy that slides out of the Mem stick slot.
-
My original DS has tons of scratches at the touch screen(For tapping on it too much), damage marks near the parts where the sound comes out from(Possibly because of me clapping the DS too hard) and tiny pieces on my screens which I can never remove because of them being inside the screens.
I was really thinking of buying a new generation of a Nintendo handheld for the first time in my life(In this case the DSI), but I don't like the news that the GBA slot has been taken out.
-
If you have to get a new one, best to get one that's not DSi. You can't use the flash carts/roms with the DSi either. Same with PSP 3000 models that use the new mother board.
-
Black DS lite. Only problem is the scratches on the touch screen.
As for my original DS, the L button is useless most of the time.
-
Oh well, as long as my DS is functioning, I will keep playing on it.
Unless the DSI comes with exclusive DSI games, such as the recent announced Wario Ware game for it. If that happens, I will play GBA games once again on my good old Game Boy Advance.
-
i'm worried about the hinges. the clicking kinda scares me. they're probably fine, though. i'm more worried about my shoulder buttons. one more playthrough of a ZX game might kill them.
-
I still have my obese DS original.
Actually it's not mine. It's my brother's.
...but it's in better condition than most lites I've seen.
-
Mine's fine. L button gets a little stupid sometimes, but blowing into it typically fixes that. Nothing else to report, really.
-
My DS is still fine and is also at the brink of being changed.
-
Everything's fine, except for a flickering white line that runs about 1/3 above the bottom of the top screen... >.>;
-
Black DS lite. Only problem is the scratches on the touch screen.
Mine is exactly this.
-
My DS is still in good condition, but I just got it in July.
-
Original Silver DS Phat
Status: Agonizing, broken hinge but still playable.
White DS Lite
Status: Dead, broken hinge and the lights that tell you when it's on and off fell off. Replaced by a black DSL.
Black DS Lite
Status: Fine, only has some scratches and fingermarks here and there.
-
Do you own THREE?!? :o wow...
My red original DS is full of greasy fingerprints, but it still works smoothly XD
-
My original DS used to be completely fine, until about three months ago when I dropped it and the small hinge cracked off. Then about last month, my top screen won't display anything. If I tweak the part where the small hinge used to be, I can sometimes see the top screen fine, but if I don't hold it in place, it starts to fade away as a still screen. (Why does it have to be me? My brother's stuff still works fine! And why do I have to drop it in the bathroom of all places!?!)
Other than that, my L button's a bit sketchy, but it still works.
-
Gave my brother my old DS when I got my Lite, then my Lite's touch screen got messed up (the crack doesn't do anything. I'm not joking, I actually miss seeing that crack on the hinge because I bonded with it. So deep, so touching, so benign...) so I got a new one and gave my brother my Lite (he ended up breaking the old DS somehow, the top screen had a giant crack inside the screens). He ended up breaking the DS Lite as well (this time he got pissed and smashed the top screen with his stylus).
Probably gonna get a DSi though. Depends on where I'm at in my life when it comes out.
-
Hmm.. My DS is in very good condition right now, even after a few plenty of times it has been dropped so far, props to my Robo guard armor accesory. (To prevent anyone else's DS lite from breaking apart when falling, buy this fabulous product) :W
So far, no hinge breaks. but my DS Bulk's touch screen stopped working. -_-
-
I've got a DS Lite, dropped it several times by accident, and the only problem i've got is dust on the screen. :D
-
R and L Button are not working right anymore
it fell down thrice and the R button got problems
it fell down three more times and the L button also stopped working proberly
-
Just wanted to bring up that if you have an older DS lite and you're having problems with the shoulder buttons... specifically the R button, it's due to the awkward size of the motherboard. Newer models shouldn't have this problem. One way to easily tell if you have this is if your R button doesn't make a click sound like the L button. If it doesn't, see if Nintendo will replace it. I can't say if they will charge you or not since I had mine fix while it was still in warranty, so best to call ahead.
This has been an STM PSA.
-
i bought this DSLite when it was first released i guess its the motherboard of the DSlite
since i'm planning to buy the DSi it doesn't matter if its broken i will still get enough money from ebay for it
-
How is it that the L and R buttons are apparently the worst built buttons on the DS Lite? I still can't believe those things break, my GBA survived many drops on the ground, DS Lite as well, they both work perfectly.
-
my GBA fell into the bathtub full of water and is still working fine
-
My friends was thrown in the toilet, then the L and R buttons stopped worrking.
-
the fact that my GBA was still on and the game could be played after i got it out of the water wondered me most
i bet if the DS would fall into water it would completly break down.
-
My screens are dirty, and I constantly lose my stylus, but other than that it works great!
-
In perfect condition, basically, aside from a bit of wear on those stickers on the back, a bit of shine around the buttons from extensive use, and a small factory defect in the bottom left corner of the top screen.
-
It's not the hinges that worry me.
It's got some scratches, fingerprints everywhere, and that L-Button has already tried to give out a couple of times.
...maybe I should get a DSi. I dunno, though...
-
Wow, so I'm not the only one with L-Button trouble...
-
But the problem is that the DSI sucks so hard at the moment for not having a very handy GBA slot.
Guess I will eventually buy it, if I feel like it!
