And don't worry they said they want to try as much as they can by themselves first so there's little chance for having Hollywood [tornado fang] it all up.

Can we say possible Nintendo Movie Universe in 2-3 years? 8D

I'm guessing they try anime first, which they absolutely should do. A lot of their franchises would make amazing cartoons.

The Kid Icarus anime shorts were okay, but I'm not sure if I want full Nintendo anime shows.

Yeah the articles I read either said they were going to make the movies anime like or 3D animated like ala Pixar.  But it's specifically movies not anime shows.  So no TV anime shows, at least for now.

I think they'd make great, short, 13 episode series. Nothing DBZ-ish at all, but I think they could do a nice short, compact, easily watchable series for Metroid, Kid Icarus, Star Fox, F-Zero, and others.

Yeah I agree those series would make some good animes.

I think the key is to make them short and simple. They have Pokemon for their DBZ-ish, long running anime. Lol

Certainly not Mario. That would just be... strange.

Yeah I agree those series would make some good animes.

They "could" do Mario, but yeah it'd be weird.

Yeah I guess but at the moment they are talking full length movies here not anime series.

If they tackle a full length Mario movie I hope it's some sort of origin story.

Sorry my mind isn't at its sharpest at the moment.

Mario cannot nor should not be a live action movie. Other franchises, sure. A Zelda or Metroid movie could be really good (or reaaaaaaaaally awful).

I don't think they're considering anything Live Action.

Does that mean another live-action film?

We’ve already tried that, so perhaps not this time.

-Is the intent to be like (3D animation companies) Disney and Pixar?

We have a strong stable of IP, so we’d like to be able to do something like them. So we’ll keep that in mind as we work towards making this a reality.

A Metroid movie could be nice and eerie, with an X-Files sort of atmosphere.

I think a indepent canon Star Fox Movie would be interesting, like not really involving Andross persay.

I want a proper F-Zero movie, damnit.

I'd also be willing to settle for Luigi's Mansion, Meta Knight's Revenge or Punch-Out!!

Ooh I'd love to see a movie based off of Meta Knight's Revenge or Luigi's Mansion.

F-Zero would be awesome if unfortunately highly unlikely.......

Just replace everything here with Metroid characters and enemies. 8D

Couple more for ya.

Captain Rainbow and Wario Land/World.

F-Zero could work. Just do it like Speed Racer. Complete with hilariously bad lip-synching.

It's not whether F-Zero is good Movie Material because it definitely is good for a movie.  It's if Nintendo would be willing to make a F-Zero movie that makes it highly unlikely.

I'm liking that idea. 8D

I'd really like to see a live-action Metroid or Zelda movie someday.

Captain Rainbow was a commercial failure.

No way in hell they'd make a series, let alone a movie.

Yeah I never even heard of Captain Rainbow, or know what the hell it is.

It's a Wii game that was only released in Japan.

Jeez I thought it was some kind of obscure NES thing.  Guess I should read up on it.

Maybe that Megaman movie is a start of this?

To be honest, I'm STILL waiting on a proper Classic/X anime.

They always complain about their movies getting trashed by outsiders so they better pull out something good with this.

I hate to be Mr. Doom And Gloom, but I need to say this: If they do a Metroid movie, there WILL be massive bitching about Samus's character.  They know it, I know it, the Rippers crapping on the roof know it.

F-Zero movie WOULD be awesome.

If they tackle a full length Mario movie I hope it's some sort of origin story.
I believe that would be a Yoshi's Island movie.

I don't know, between reboots and whining about sequels, there are a million and one origin stories in Hollywood of characters that I already know; it gets tiresome.  It could work if it's a series that didn't previously emphasize its story, though.  Or if it's Zelda, since the heroes are constantly getting reincarnated anyway.

I meant like how Mario came to the Mushroom Kingdom and got aquainted with Peach.

But yeah I think Metroid may be low on the list, though definitely not as low as F-Zero even though both are awesome.

I don't know I think Mario, Zelda or Star Fox would be the best places to start in this.  A Pikmin movie would be cool too.....though seeing all those little Pikmin ghosts on the big screen is going to be horrifying because we all know there's going to be a massive wipe out.

Hell I can see them doing a Wonderful 101 or Splatoon movie too.

Hmm, I know.

Super (Mario) Blues Brothers.

"It's 106 miles to World 3. We got a full tank of gas, half a packet of 1-Up Mushrooms, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses."

"Hit it."

Only if Platinum would be on board in overseeing development of the movie.

Yeah that's true, in that case it would probably be later on then.

Um, they're going to [sonic slicer] no matter the movie, character, etc. because gamers are unpleasable assholes.

I'm still waiting for a Kid Icarus anime after those shorts that came out. Also the Palutena reveal trailer for Smash.

Now THAT would be an awesome movie.

Um, they're going to [sonic slicer] no matter the movie, character, etc. because gamers are unpleasable assholes.
Point taken.  But the general bitching applies to the movie's writing and not necessarily to the specific character.

To be fair I doubt Nintendo would let Sakamoto touch doing the story telling of a Metroid Movie considering the backlash and how he made things worse with the voice direction he gave the English Actress.

But yeah I'd be so down with a Kid Icarus movie, especially if we get someone as hammy as Hades or Pyron.

EDIT: In fact it seems Sakamoto doesn't want to return the Metroid franchise from some of the things I'm reading to refresh my memory.  Poor guy.

Nintendo probably wouldn't have much to do with a Megaman movie since that's owned by Capcom.
