Plot - Stories tells of the lost kingdom of Zepter once prosperous but now lost in a deep fog, a legend of a king who in his quest for power led his people down the path of ruin. While the kingdom has fallen into the realm of legend many heroes brave the fog in hopes of finding fame and fortune yet none ever return, did they fall to the monsters and traps of the lost land or did the fog simply swallow them up? Perhaps a new generation of heroes will brave the fog and unlock the secrets to the lost land and become legends.
Locations
Zepter
The lost kingdom, in it's golden age the land was a place of great wealth and magical knowledge; however it's king greedy and decadent sought even greater fortune and was said to have unleashed ruin on his kingdom. While the details of this fall are unknown a deep fog acts as a barrier around it's borders slowly expanding over the generations. Many heroes and adventurers have breached the fog to stop the expansion of the unnatural fog or pillage the land of it's treasures yet none have ever returned.
Goldwood
A small village on the border of the encroaching fog, modest but friendly. Contains an Inn/Tavern, a weapon, armor and item shop and several houses. The goldwood forest is the source of the town's name.

A young adventurer traveling across the world searching for adventure and riches, Reva is confident and brave although somewhat overconfident and stubborn. Wielding her families' silver sword a once enchanted blade that has lost most of it's magical power over the centuries she hopes to find the fabled "Crown of the Beast King" said to belong to the lord of Zepter before it's fall.

Reva sighed as she passed the wooden gates of Goldwood, it had been a long if not dull journey; the town looked peaceful enough and if her information was right should have everything she needs to stock up for her journey into Zepter. It was getting dark and her tired legs made their point that it was time to find lodging for the night, taking a moment she manages to track down the inn the largest building in the town.
"Goldwood Inn, huh not a very creative name...oh well." Reva shrugs pushing open the door entering the homely inn. A middle aged man sits at the counter near the far wall while a young woman moves between tables seeing to orders from the patrons, it would appear the inn also doubles as a tavern too. It's oddly busy for a town so close to the fog, Reva was almost sure the town would have been abandoned by now like the others consumed by the fog.
"Greeting stranger, looking for a room?" The middle aged man beckons her over with a smile as Reva closes the door behind her.
"A meal and a bed would be lovely." Reva leaned on the counter sighing
"Well we have a few rooms available still, it's ten gold a night plus dinner and breakfast." The innkeeper reaches below the counter laying a sign in book in front of him.
"Alright I'll take it...seems kinda busy tonight." Reva noted as she placed her coins on the table.
"Lately all sorts of adventurers have come to Goldwood, I guess they all hope to brave the fog and explore the ruins of Zepter. Oh whats your name miss?" The Innkeeper begins scribbling in the book and reaches back for a silver key to Reva's room.
"Reva, guess I'm not the only one then." Reva takes the key and looks back to find a free table.
"Go find yourself a table and I'll have dinner brought out, stew tonight." The innkeeper nods writing in her name before turning back to his work.
Reva moved out into the eating area, the light glow of the fireplace created a homely ambiance although she might have to share with another patron as all the tables seemed filled.
((Okay I think goldwood inn is a good meeting place for everyone, when you post give a brief description of your character and perhaps their motivations for wanting to travel to Zepter.))

As the sun began to set at the entrance to Goldwood one could see a figure in the distance. It was a woman riding a black horse with a white mane and a oval shaped mark on her forhead.
the woman herself was no older than 20 and looked weary. She had green eyes, short brown hair held back by a red head band wrapped around her head, a red leotard, white cape with a silver underside with armored shoulders, gold bracelets, a brown belt and brown boots. On the side of her belt was a holster that contained a simple saber.
She aproached the guards and began to speak to them.
"Welcome to Goldwood." One of the guards said.
"Greeting fair guards, I am Sarah Lecart, I have arrived to this fair town in search of a powerful wizard so I may improve my magic, if you would be so kind can you tell me if there is such a person in this village?" Sarah asked politely
"Welcome to Goldwood." The gaurd repeated.
"You said that already...." Sarah said bluntly "If this is not possible can you direct me to the nearest in?"
"Welcome to Goodwood." The guard said yet again.
".....I'll just be on my way...come Yin!" Sarah sighed as she road into town.

((haha, Goldwood has a Item Store, Weapon Store and Armor Store; it's a little small to have a dedicated magic store but who knows might be a mage living here.))

(Yeah she's just traveling around to see if she can find a mage or something, probably went to Goldwood for a pitstop but it doesn't hurt to ask.)

A young (for her race) adventurer who seeks forgotten relics of bygone ages. Not much is known about Talyn's past, but she does all she can to hide signs of her mixed heritage. Her mastery of weapons is said to come from a great gladiator of yore, but she doubts that's the case. Either way, she'll use that mastery to get past whatever is protecting the relics sure to lay within the fog. If she makes a few friends while searching, all the better.

On a nearby hill overlooking Goldwood Village, a lone warrior stands. She surveys the area as she catches her breath; the foes she had just fought had finally given up the hunt. And it only took taking one out. Or two. Or ten, she wasn't sure.
"Hmm... standing on a hill overlooking a town... Seems oddly familiar," she mused, and almost missed the quiet footsteps coming from behind. With fluid grace she unsheathed one of her blades from within its hiding place and thrust it backwards. Hearing a surprised yelp, she grinned and swung the blade over her head, flinging the hapless grunt down the hill.
"That, on the other hand, not so familiar..." she added. "These bandits are getting out of hand... Must be the allure of treasure..." She shrugged and headed down the hill, carefully avoiding the fallen mook who tried to sneak up on her, and headed into town to find the Inn. She definitely needed some rest after that fight.
(Just setting up the idea that the woods near the town aren't quite safe. Hope you don't mind)

"Bring me another ale, lad! I wish to wash down the taste of this magnificent stew!" yelled out a man at the bar. Some of the other patrons were scared to approach this man, as he had the reputation around these lands as a Sorcerer of the Blackest Arts. Yet with his somewhat odd demeanor, they could not tell if his was jovial or merely driven insane due to the study of the dark arts.
"And an ale for my fellow bar mates as well." he said as the young barkeep brought the ale for him. "IN FACT....ALES FOR EVERYONE!!!" he yelled aloud before the bar cheered with glee. "TIS A TIME FOR ADVENTURE. FOR TREASURE AND TRIUMPH. FOR ROYALTY AND RICHES. FOR ALE AND WHORES GALORE! HAHAH..." he said as he got slapped by one of the waitresses!
"You still don't know when to be silent, do you wizard?" the waitress said.
"Aye miss, I deserved that! I still want those ales though." the yellow scarfed one said.
"...Of course. Coming right up!"
The yellow scarfed man, wearing a one shoulder cloak of raven black feathers over a red & black outfit with hints of chain mail, turned around on his barstool to face the bartender.
"And....how will you be paying for all these ales, good sir?" the bartender asked.
"With these!" the wizard said as he pulled out bright, sparkling gems from his pouch. "Rare gems from the farthest reaches of the land. I hope to fill my pouch with many more before my time here is done!"

Sarah first went to the Tavern as she felt a bit peckish, she hitched Yin to a near by water and food trowel and headed inside. When she went inside she was suprised by the loud crowd and felt out of place immediately.
"Oh dear...I didn't think the locals could be so....loud." She thought to herself.
She went to a secluded corner of the Tavern and when the server arrived she ordered a pheasant and somr water.

Reva jumped a bit at the Black Mage's sudden outburst, it was admittedly odd to see a black mage be so...loud or at least that's the feeling she got from the large face covering hats most of them seemed to wear. Glancing around again she realized the only table not filled was his and given his attitude it was easy to see why. Reva considered just heading to bed but an ache in her tummy quickly changed her mind.
"Umm--excuse me sir, all the other tables are full mind if I sit down for dinner?" Reva moved next to PB's table waiting to get his attention before speaking.

"Not at all. Haha, not at all dear! There's plenty of room. I sure hope you ordered the stew, as it is delectable! One of the best stews in all the kingdom." he answered.
Suddenly he elbow nudged the guy next to him and said "Although I've had better ale! HAHAHAHA! So tell me, what is your name miss?"

A loud voice rang throughout the town as Talyn got closer to the Inn. In fact, it was so reliably loud that she was able to follow it right to her destination. She opened the door, wondering who could be making such noise and spotted a rather eccentric yellow-scarfed mage.
"You there! Was that you being so ridiculously loud?" she asked, approaching him.

Sarah was a bit perturbed by the loud male, she reminded her of her former master. She lived a hermit's life in a forest under a mountain and her master sent her off into the world in order to learn more about it.
She almost missed her secluded life already, but she must improve herself, get stronger and learn about the world if she is to find the lost kingdom of Zepter.

Reva placed her sword and shield down on the ground leaning against the leg of the table, lightly slipping into the seat next to PB she felt the relief of being off her feet.
"Thank you I've been on my feet for the last few days, oh, my name is Reva." Reva extends a hand as the two greet each other turning her head when Talyn approached the table.

"Reva! Nice to meet you, Reva. 'Xcuse me for a moment!" the man said as he got up to speak to the lady addressing him. "Ridiculously loud? HA! I was being magnificently loud! Come, fair lady. Join us. Still plenty of room at the table. Why, miss Reva here just ordered some stew and the ales are on their way!"

"Either way, I wanted to thank you for that voice of yours. I got attacked on the way here by ruffians and your voice was easy enough to follow to find the Inn in this town," she explained. "And I will take a seat. Goddess knows I've been standing long enough for today. You may call me Talyn, by the way," she added, sitting down with the two other adventurers.

The server came back with Sarah's order.
"Okay here's your phesant, a glass of water, and a glass of Ale." The server said as she put the order on the table.
"Pray pardon but I didn't order this...Ale." Sarah stated confused.
"I know, it's compliments from that crazy man over there." The server said gesturing to the strange man on the other side of the tavern.
"I see...I thank you kindly." Sarah nodded as the server went away.
Sarah was not familiar with Ale and took a sip, however she imediately retched as the taste was nothing she experienced before. She then went into a coughing fit.

"Nice to meet you Talyn, I'm Reva." Reva glances at PH "Whats your name by the way?"

"My name is Prospero. Prospero Blues. Yes yes, THE Prospero Blues. Finder of the lost scrolls of Evanoir. Wielder of the Scepter of Obsidian Fire. Master of Black Sorcery, at your service!"

"Prospero Blues, eh?" Talyn pondered.
A few minutes passed as she thought... or maybe it was just a few seconds. Either way she finally looked up from her introspection. "Never heard of you," she finished.

After Sarah recovered from her coughing fit she began eating her meal, only to hear Prospero's words and swallowed too hard going into an even louder coughing fit.

Reva blinks "I've heard of him, a few uh--interesting stories actually. So I guess you two are heading into Zepter as well?" Reva leans back in her chair as the server brings her food and free ale. "Cheers."

"Cheers! Yes, I'm heading into Zepter to search for more magical artifacts, as well as treasure of course!"

Zepter....the land that many adventures strive to find. Sarah too desired to find this mythical land but not for riches nor the magic she desperately needed. Her parents went to find this lost land in hopes of getting a better living for all of them, but they vanished.
Even though she was wary of the man she slowly went to his table and cleared her throat.
"Pray pardon but I couldn't help but overhear what you folks just said." She said hesitantly "Do you really intend to find the lost kingdom of Zepter?"

Reva turned her gaze to the newcomer "Yeah, I'd wager most of the travelers here tonight will head into the fog soon too."

"I see....If you don't mind me asking may I join you?" Sarah asked a bit nervous.

Strolling through a narrow path in the Goldwood forest and soon approaching the town, a young woman, age 22, looked up at the night sky and began to quietly sing a soothing tune to herself.

The woman with rosy skin, long flowing brown hair and hazel-colored eyes let out a yawn while nearing the town. She wore an outfit that could described as a "battle-ready gown (http://i.imgur.com/Yrl52fy.png)", complete with short sleeves and red/black boots. A silver pendant hung between her clavicle. In her holster, held a rather average looking sword with a blade that appeared to be entirely black.
The distinct raw scent coming from the trees and leaves, due to the rainfall shortly before hung in the air, even as she stepped onto the cobblestone path leading up to the town entrance.
"What a beautiful night," She said, soon approaching the guards.
"Welcome to Goldwood," The Knight at the entrance greeted the stranger.
"Thank you for the kind welcome, sir Knight!" She bowed and entered.
She walked around a bit looking for a place to settle down. She's been on a long journey, and Lord knows she deserves some rest.
"Oy, fair miss. Ye look lost!" A grizzled old man hobbled over to her.
"Oh, haha, I suppose I am. I'm looking for a nice place to rest for the night," She responded.
He nodded and rubbed his gray beard, "Look no further than the Goldwood Inn, good traveler!" He pointed his finger down a path to the right of her, "Keep goin' down and turn right. Can't miss it!"
"Many thanks, kind sir!" She smiled and proceeded down the path.
The old man turned around, "Oh, and what be your name, madame?"
"Thy name is Luna, hailed from the Kingdom of Rhizome," Luna bowed.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, miss Luna of Rhizome. Enjoy your stay!" He replied.
Luna bowed, "The pleasure is mine. Until next time."
She soon approached the Goldwood Inn and opened the doors.
"Hail traveler! How may I be of service?" The innkeeper greets her.
"One room, please. Oh, and a meal would be wonderful, as well," She clasped her hands together and smiled.
"What meal would you like?"
"Surprise me!" She grinned.
"You got it," He said as he grabbed a key and handed it to her.
Luna turned towards the loud table, "Oy, and who be these colorful bunch?"
(Now would be the time for someone to call her over.)

"Artifacts? I'm headin' there for historical relics, preferably ones belonging to an age of bygone nature," Talyn replied, a light in her eyes sparking. "I get the feeling that there's plenty of history and lore locked away inside that fog..."

Reva moves her chair over for the newcomers "You two might as well join us not many other seats left."
Reva glances at Talyn "I've heard some interesting legends about Zepter, mostly about it's king. they say his crown granted him immortality and control over beasts--even if it's only a tale the crown would be more than worth it's weight in gold." Reva chuckles sipping her ale.

"We'll see, I suppose..." she said as she noticed someone talking about the group. "Colorful bunch?" she yelled back. "Who you callin' colorful?!?"

"That sounds....like a terrible power." Sarah shivered.

"Thank you, miss... um, pardon, what is your name?" Luna asked as she took a seat.
Soon after speaking, she took notice of a woman screaming at her due to her comment.
"Apologies, I meant nothing by it."

"No I was just gonna say why don't you come here and make it more colorful," Talyn replied with a chuckle. "Moot point now that you're here though, I suppose."

Reva chuckles at Serah's reaction "It's been so long since Zepter vanished into the fog that it's hard to tell how true any of these legends really are, I'm sure it's just a story meant to scare kids and nothing more." Reva pauses "Then again no one that goes into the fog ever comes back so...who knows?"
Reva nods to Luna "Name is Reva, you heading into the fog too?"

"Yes...that's true." Sarah said looking down.

"You looking for long lost treasure too?" Reva tilts her head at Serah

"No I'm not." Sarah shook her head "I'm looking for my parents."

"Oh s-sorry." Reva looks down a bit realizing how insensitive her last comment was. "So when did they head in?"

"When I was a small child I'm afraid. I know the chances of them being alive are very slim, but I must know if they perished or if they are somehow trapped there." Sarah sighed. "But I know I can't do it alone, I'm not nearly strong enough, my magic is nowhere that of the masters even though my swordsmanship is quite powerful I can only go so far with a sword."

Talyn quickly unsheathed her blades and rested them on the table in front of her. "Well you're not the only one with blades, and I'm not usually one to toot my own horn, but I'm not too shabby with these myself." Then just as quickly as she had revealed them, she sheathed them away once more.

"Well If we are all heading into the fog anyway why not team up?" Reva leans forward resting her elbows on the table.

"Yes that would probably be wise." Sarah nodded.

"I love a good party!" Prospero Blues remarked. "And yes, I mean both a festive party and a group of teammates kind of party! I'm in as well! My sorcery should aide us in Zepter!"

"Though what are we to do about healing?" Talyn pondered. "It seems most of us are geared for war..."

"Indeed I am" Luna replied, "As for my reason on pursuing such a perilous quest, well, I was sent by my King to retrieve Zepter's treaures. My Kingdom isn't quite as prosperous as it once was and our allies have severed their ties with us. Some have left in hopes of a better place to support their families, others are more loyal and have stayed with us through the worst of times. With Zepter's vast treasure, my Kingdom has a chance to stand tall, once again."
She took a rather frightening gulp of Ale, "So, that's the reason why I'm here."
"Though what are we to do about healing?" Talyn pondered. "It seems most of us are geared for war..."
"I actually know a few healing spells," Luna raised her hand.

"But we know not of the state of Zepter's treasure. For all we know we could get there and the treasury will be full of naught but dust. That is a risk you are willing to take for your kingdom, right?" Talyn asked.

"Yes, that is true," Luna nodded, "I am fully ready to take that risk for the good of my people."

"Ah, I see. Well in that case, it's time to party," she replied calmly. "Errmm... Prospero, was it?" she asked, turning to the wizard. "What say you to this party? Shall we get it started?"

"Oh goodness, how rude of me. Here I am with my mouth flapping, and I haven't introduced myself," She cleared her throat, "Thy name is Luna. A great pleasure to meet you all."

(Wow so much has happened, while I was asleep. I curse the horrible night for this delay. I'm a little rusty on the details since I might have to throw our next companion on the way to Zepter. Any ideas on how to resolve this.)

"So everyone is in agreement then? Lets head out tomorrow morning then after we buy some supplies; we'll need a decent amount of food and water who knows the state of zepter once we get there."

Kaitlin
Class: Blue Mage
Race: Rev
Age: 30
Weapon: Light Saber (not talking about Star Wars here)
Magic: None, but will learn techniques exclusive to monsters on the way.
A foreign adventurer seeking knowledge from sources outside Ivalician lore. Kaitlin is often shy and keeps to herself, although willing to socialize if the mood sets in. She wields a saber with a blade that illuminates so brightly as if it was made out of pure light, which was given to her by her mentor to aid her in her quest for knowledge. She also carries a blank Grimoire, said to acquire knowledge from creatures she may encounter. Her tail by the way is oddly shaped like a cat o'nine, due to an excessive exposure to the fog (kinda wish it was called mist). She is on pursuit with a sky pirate named Karn, believed to be after the "Crown of the Beast King", which she assumes to be related to late dynast-king.
Crossing the thick fog towards the Zeptor kingdom. A lone woman dressed in a rather revealing blue garb with a blue mask across the eyes, stops by a nearby tree in order to gain her bearings of her location. Not before long as she then notices a familiar airship fly by.
"Don't get cocky with me Karn." she mutters to herself, "Don't expect your expedition to go smoothly, because I'm on to you." as she follows the airship, knowing for certain it was heading towards Zepter's direction. Not long before a goblin approaching her in an attempt to mug her.
"Hand over the gil, nice and slowly lassie, and I may go easy on ya." says the goblin.
"Sorry to disappoint you but I don't carry any sort of cash on me, to deal with the likes of you." replies the lone woman in a soft tone.
"Well that's just too bad. Now cough up the dough or start coughing up blood." says the grumpy goblin.
"How 'bout, no?" she replies, looking unfazed by the goblin's threat.
"THAT'S IT! YOU ASKED FOR IT." the goblin charges for the woman clenching his fist, "TAKE THIS! GOBLIN PUNCH!!"
The woman quickly pulls out her saber from its sheath, attempting to guard against the goblin's assault as the mere attack is suddenly canceled out by a magic shield upon impact.
"What!?" the responds in surprise as his attack was hardly effective. Not long before the woman swipes her blade at the goblin knocking him off his feet.
"It's useless. Just because I look frail, doesn't mean I'm helpless." she talks in a stern voice "Now before I go let me show you a little trick I learned just now, for wasting my time." she clenches her left fist before charging back at the grounded goblin.
"No! Not the face, AARGH...!"
(I'm going to cut it short here, while I try come up with something different.)

"That sounds good to me, but I must find a place for my horse to rest tonight." Sarah stated.

"I just need to get a room. Those bandits wore me out a little bit..." Talyn explained. "I bid you all a good night," she added as she got up to procure a room.

"Ay, you all get some rest. It will be quite the journey." Prospero said. "I think I've got some room for some more ale though!"

"I must ask how you can stomach something with such a foul taste." Sarah said dryly.

"Ale is a...acquired taste." *Reva takes another drink before focusing on her food.

"It's a party, my dear! People like to have fun and this foul tasting drink helps people do that!" Prospero said. "You are still young and shy. Perhaps journeying with us will open you up a bit! HAHAHAHA!!! Now go and rest, for we have a mighty quest ahead of us!"

"Assuming the fog doesn't just consume us." Reva chuckles returning to her food, seems she'll stay up a little longer before heading to bed if anyone wanted to inquire to her own goals.

"Very welll....." Sarah sighed "I'll go rest."
With that Sarah went outside to her horse Yin to find a resting place for her.

Talyn went up the stairs in the inn to find her room. Fortunately it was one with a view. She laid on the bed (which was placed below the window) and stared outside at the fog.
"Zeptar... Apparently it's somewhere in there... Along with a relic stolen from my people long ago... I wonder if getting that will be enough to be allowed to rejoin them..." she mused. "Though after what I did, I doubt that..."

"So, Reva. What are you expecting out of the journey if you don't mind me asking?" Prospero asked before taking a swig of his ale!

Sarah found Yin a stable for her to rest for the night, after giving her a carrot and telling about the journey they were going on tomorrow she headed back to the inn.

Reva ponders the question for a moment "I don't have a personal reason like the others really, my father would tell me stories of his adventurers when I was a young lass, exploring the sand seas and outwitting the banshees, or discovering the sunken kingdom and evading a sleeping dragon..I suppose adventure is in my blood. But to answer your question, I'm curious to see if the Beast King's crown is what the legends claim, long ago Zepter was the source of magic power in the world and then poof gone lost in that fog. I mean you have to wonder what really happened right?"
Reva smiles "How about you, what started your life of adventuring for lost magics and relics?"

As she drifted off to sleep, Talyn thought about the lost kingdom. "Zepter... sounds kinda like scepter... Wonder if there's a Scepter of Zepter... That would be funny..."
And then she was passed out.

"A quest for knowledge of the dark arts, mainly. The arcane has always been a source of interest for me since my mother was a powerful sorceress. Sarah went to the counter to check into a room when she heard Prospero's reasons for going to Zepter.
"I must wonder why so many people are so drawn to the allure of this lost civilization even though so many have never returned." Sarah thought "Fools, all of them fools. Yet I myself am a fool as well for thinking my parents are alive, but until I find proof, I cannot give up on the possibility."

Reva finishes her ale "Well, best go get some sleep, tomorrow is the big day." she slips out from her chair picking up her blade and shield "Thanks again for the ale, night." Reva after saying goodnight heads up to get some sleep.

Lina noticed a man in an apron coming over to the table with a bowl in his hand. Through all this talk of fables and magic, she forgot that she ordered food.
"Well, I did tell the Innkeeper to surprise me with whatever meal they cook up. Guess they delivered a little too well on that," She laughed.
"Here you go. Snake soup, hope you like it," He handed it to her.
"By the Gods, it's been quite a while since I had snake meat," Luna scooped a piece of soup-covered snake meat and promptly shoveled it into her mouth.
"Mmm, why, it's just how I remembered it! Succulent and tender!" Luna was about to go for another spoonful when she glanced at Prospero.
"Oh, haha, sorry. I can be somewhat of a slob sometimes!" She chuckled nervously.

As the sun began to set, we find a man walking down the dusty road away from Goldwood. He gazed at the slowly descending sun, deciding to step a bit off the beaten path and set up camp. He quietly set up a bonfire near a tree and leaned against the tree as he nodded off, keeping his guard up at all times.
(Decided to go with meeting you guys on the road, don't want to hang around the inn for too long :P)

Somewhen, in the town square, there stood a bipedal fox-thing of black fur with fiery streaks of red. No one knew what it was... only that it looked like a street urchin who made off with a clerics robe. A strange duck-billed creature waddled around the fox-boy.
"REPENT SINNERS! For the forty-hour work week of judgment is at hand!"
He ripped off the pants of a nearby peasant and waved them around.
"Burn your pantaloons! For they are an abomination against the magical platypus! Burn them, or you will face eternal domination in Richard Simmons' basement!"

Luna stayed for a few minutes after Prospero's departure and finished her meal. Afterwards, she payed for the meal and made her way to her room.
She layed her sword at the foot of the bed, changed into her night gown and plopped herself down on the surprisingly soft mattress. With only the thought of the journey ahead of her and her new allies, she slowly drifted to sleep.

((No as I said in early posts this is it's own world with no connection to previous RP, maybe some references to other RPs but it's not directly connected. Flare whats your character class though? It's gotta fit into the FF theme of the RP.))
With food and Ale in their stomachs the group sleeps soundly, the inn's beds turn out to quite comfortable and everyone feels quite refreshed in the morning. Gathering in the tavern bellow the party spend the better part of the morning buying food, water skins and other supplies, there is no telling if they will be able to find any in the lost kingdom thus the group packs heavy.
With their supplies and preparations complete the group heads out of town toward the looming wall of fog not two miles from Goldwood. The roads have been unused for some time outside the rare adventurer due to the fog slowly encroaching on the world beyond and the party is reminded that soon even Goldwood would vanish.
As they travel down the road the group notices a man in green armor camped out near a extinguished bonfire, perhaps another adventurer on their way into the lost kingdom. It's hard to tell if he's still sleeping with his helmet though.
"Hey look over there." Reva taps Prospero on the shoulder.

Waking up from her sleeping back, before getting up to put out the campfire. She notice fog beginning to thin a little.
"Just need to get my bearings straight. Although I can't make out where to go." she scratched her head, before turning towards a rather beat up goblin. "Hey could you point to me where the Zepter kingdom maybe?"
"Why should I?" the goblin grumped at her.
"Otherwise, I'll just have to leave you there hanging until the blood rushes to your brain." She replies
"Okay... okay just keep heading in that direction. Just let the fog's density guide you and you'll be out of here in no time." says the goblin in a desperate tone to get down.
"Thanks any. Now I should be on my way. I'll just my intuition guide me from here." As she packs up her belongings before putting out the fire, and be on her way.
"Hey at least get me down from here." The goblin pleas with her before disappearing into the fog. "Well this is just great."

"Oh please if you knew this would happen why would you even consider doing this sort of thing the night before going on a dangerous adventure?! Have you forgotten that no one has ever returned from the trek to Zepter in the first place, and now you're thoroughly impaired!" Sarah nagged as Yin stood silently.

"You nag too much, young one! Prospero Blues is not incapacitated. Just headache-y, which thou are not helping with!" Prospero said. "Besides I didn't exactly know how early we were leaving! Now drop it and focus on the task at hand; this armored gentleman on the road here."

Talyn awoke late, well-refreshed and wondering why everyone had left her behind. She quickly gathered her things and leapt out the window, running along the rooftops towards the path to Zepter. It wasn't long before she was outside of town, and a short distance down the path she found her companions.
"The hell? Did y'all forget about me or somethin'?" she asked suddenly.

(Yeah, hazel is a common topic among discussion. Hazel eyes are described as light brown with a little green mixed in and it's sometimes hard to tell if someone has green or hazel eyes. As I understand it, it's seen as the most "misunderstood" eye color.)

Freyr awoke suddenly from the nightmare he was having, the same one he has every night. He felt a recurring nudge on his side, and he looked over slowly to see a group of adventurers speaking amongst themselves, with a horse nudging him with its hoof.
"I must've been more exhausted than I thought..." Freyr said as he slowly got up. "How long have you been there?"

"About a short while, Yin had a very hard timw getting you to stir." Sarah stated as Yin neighed.

"I see..." Freyr replied as he gently patted Yin above the nose. He sensed no malicious intent from any of the group, which would explain why he didn't react to them sooner. "Quite a varied group you have gathered here... where are you all headed?"

"Same place as you I'd imagine but you are quite fortunate that we are not bandits, or monsters; or monster bandits." Reva shrugs with a slight giggle.

The mob came to a stop and one them, a peasant wearing boxers adorned with hearts pointed an accusatory finger at Pyro.
"The boy is stealing our pants and burning them!"
Pyro waved the charred pantaloons, "REPENT! REPENT! For the Happy Hour is upon us!"

Reva motions both her hands forward in an attempt to diffuse the situation "Alright alright...everyone calm down."

"I think my master would love this boy." Sarah sighed as she has him to thank for her outfit. Though it was either the leotard or something far far worse.

As the mob caught up with the group Pyro found himself trapped between the angry villagers and the party. The crowd angrily raises their pitchforks and other make shift weapons, Reva questioned why she was trying to help a stranger who was clearly mad but it was too late to back down now.
"Okay okay everyone please take a moment to calm yourself, I'm sure we can solve this without getting too rowdy okay?" Reva motions with her hands for the villagers to drop their weapons. The Villagers simply yell in anger advancing a little.
"L-look if the kid gives you back your---pants you'll let him and his animal thing go right?"
The villagers glance at each other before someone steps forward perhaps their leader and one still wearing pants. "Look just get back what was stolen from us and we won't string this little monster up by his heels!"
Reva nods before turning to Pyro "Look, I don't want to know WHY you stole everyone's *sighs* pants but it's time to give them back, they'll stop chasing you if you do."

Things only reaaalllyyy old people did," she explained. "And yet my expertise on those centuries old is only a small help here... There is something different about him that I can't quite put my finger on..."

"My master told me about Elves, is it true they have a prejudice again humans?" Sarah questioned "Or even their Half brethren?"

"Eh they don't really mind humans, and the result of a human/elf coupling doesn't really get scorned. They tolerate us, and treat us as well as they can, so there's that. More than anything they pity us for not being as long-lived as them. Rumors of prejudice mostly stem from that, along with the tales of how human/elf love is forbidden. That's only mildly frowned upon, and even then it's only because one of the parents and the child will outlive the other parent."

"It's good to hear that they aren't as close minded as the tales I've heard." Sarah sighed in relief.

Prospero walked over to the armored man. "Tell me, good sir. What is thy name?"

"They aren't close-minded at all. They just value their privacy, hence why they help spread those rumors of hate and prejudice. Keeps people out of their hair, aside from the occasional traveler... Which reminds me, I think a few years back we had a young mage visit who happened to wear a yellow scarf. He was looking for magical tomes and relics... Ring any bells, Prospero?"

"See your name didn't sound familiar but you seemed familiar. Mostly I just remember 5 or 6 young half-elven girls (and by young I mean 60-70) flirting with you late at night... Guess that means you were into older women!" Talyn replied with a chuckle.

"Indeed I have, young one." Prospero responded to Sarah. "Indeed I have. And to answer your question, Talyn, it was 7 girls and boy were they frisky that night!"

Sarah's eyes widened at the revelation.
"Could....could he be the one I'm searching for?" Sarah thought "Someone who can make me stronger? This....this insufferable lech? I....can't believe this....this man is almost as perverse as my former master! Yet if what he's said is true....he went far and wide to master his craft while I only had my master to teach me all he knew.
I...I may have no choice but to swallow my pride and ask him to teach me further....as much as I dislike him."

Despite being a very gentle and kind woman, Luna seemed to hold distain for perverted men.

"Trust me, I'm well-aware of that. Those girls gossipped about it for days after you left!" she replied, another laugh following shortly thereafter. "Anyways we have Mr. Pantshater and his platypus along with the sleeping armor here. They joining our party orr...?"

Sarah looked away from him, because she knew he was right. As much as she hate it, he was absolutely right and she felt ashamed.

"Hmph! Do what you will, I suppose," Luna turned her head away from Prospero dismissively.

"Look, you'll never get anywhere in life if you let fear and shame stop you. Put a smile on and just deal with whatever hand life deals you. Go with the flow, you know?" Talyn said, trying to be reassuring. "It's a weird world that gets weirder by the day. Case in point..." she added, pointing to the young cleric burning a pair of pants almost ritualistically. Except somehow they were a spare pair of her pants. "Hey where'd you get those you little rascal?!?"

"I'm going on a journey of possibly no return and left my entire family behind because of it; fear and shame are not an issue with me," Luna responded.
"I don't agree with tossing one's body around like deer meat on display. I come from a place where your body is revered as sacred and spiritual, however, I'm inclined to respect sir Prospero for at least giving me his reason."

What an odd gathering, Freyr thought to himself as he merely listened in intently at the chatter. The one called Prospero approached him and asked for his name.
"My name is Freyr," he responded to the man with the yellow scarf. "I don't mind tagging along with your ensemble, although I am somewhat more used to traveling alone."

"Well yeah, traveling alone is nice but I'm reasonably certain not a single one of us knows what to expect in the fog. Even if I'm wrong, there's always safety in numbers, right?" Talyn replied.

"Yes, I agree with Talyn," Luna nodded, "The more people we have, the better chance we have at surviving."

"Better chance at finding CAKE!" Pyro exclaimed.

"True enough... for the most part," Freyr says with a slight tinge of reluctance.

"And hey, if you think anything's out there, just ask me what my elf eyes see!" she added with a chuckle.

"Quite, now if everything is taken care of let us continue." Sarah said as Yin grabbed Pyro by his cleric robes in her mouth and dumped him in front of Sarah.

With the pants returned if not slightly singed the villagers begin to disperse although not without few angry glares at Pyro.
"I've seen a lot of weird things in my travels but this was---this was a thing."

"True, this is the first time I've seen someone be chased out of somewhere." Sarah stated.

"First time I've seen someone else chased out of a town," Talyn said, more somber than usual as a memory flashed in her mind. "What gives them the right to determine who stays or who goes? It's not like we mean to do these things..." she added quietly.

"I'm not familiar with social conduct myself but I doubt any town would find stealing and burning pants acceptable." Sarah stated.

"Maybe the poor boy is scared?" She wondered aloud.
Luna walked up to Pyro, "What is thy name?" She asked with a kind smile.

Anywho, something tells me this boy originated in a time long past considering he's full of surprises from ages ago," Talyn explained. "Damn I never get to be the eldest..." she added with a resigned sigh.

"I assume fruit is not what you mean by 'sweets'." Sarah guessed.

"Dear Goddess, did your master train you under a rock?"

"He called himself a hermit." Sarah explained "He taught me how to hunt and grow my own food in the forest."

"That would be a yes then..."

"Good heavens. You and I must purchase some sweets at some point. It's quite an experience when you first try them," Luna stated, but looked at Sarah with a slightly worried face.

"I see..." Sarah nodded.

Suddenly, Luna felt a drop of water on her nose. She looked at the gloomy sky and watched as it started to drizzle.
"Huh, this was certainly sudden..." She stated.

"We better start looking for shelter." Sarah stated.
-
"Probably a good idea. We've just been standing here talking for hours and I'm rather surprised we haven't been set upon by bandits yet. I don't think I killed them all yesterday..."

"I'm surprised we haven't encountered any monsters yet either. I was attacked by some on the way to Goldwood." Sarah recalled.

"Aye, I'm surprised we haven't been attacked yet either. Especially considering how much the lot of ye talk!" Prospero said. "I can literally shoot magic missiles out of my fingertips, and even I'd rather not rattle the local beasts with chatter!"
Suddenly, a horde of Kobolds come rushing from out of the woods.
"SEE?!"

"At least they are only mere Kolbolds." Sarah stated as she got off of Yin and began enchanting her saber.

"Yes. This time they're only Kobolds." Prospero said while casting a sleep spell on a portion of them! "The next time they might be lizardmen or goblins. My point is that we should try not attracting attention to ourselves."
Prospero fired off some magic missiles at the horde. "We can talk later at camp!"

Sarah finished enchanting her sword with a Thundara and lunged herself at one of the Kobolds that Prospero missed.

"Finally! This is what I'm talking about!" Talyn exclaimed with glee as she unsheathed her twin blades and set upon her foes with style and finesse, targeting weak spots as well as she could.

Sarah killed one Kobold and went on to the next.
"This is no time to be excited!" Sarah yelled.

"I am the Lizard King!" Pyro declared.

"Pyro stay back!" Sarah yelled as a Kobold slashed her "It's too dangerous!"

"If it's not time to be excited, then what is it time for? Time to be afraid?" Talyn yelled back between kills. "You may not know much of the world outside your master's home, miss, but there are those of us who live for the thrill of battle!" Another swift kill. "For some of us it's all we know we can count on, our true passions stripped away..." she said under her breath and narrowly avoided getting impaled by a Kobold's blade. The weapon still grazed her side.
"Bah you got me all introspective! It's definitely not time for that!"

"My master has taught me such behavior in battle will only serve to make you reckless." Sarah said as another Kobold has been slain "And I don't find a battle of life and death exciting."

"That may be, but just because I'm excited doesn't make me reckless. I'm a Swordmaster. Excitement and battle go hand-in-hand, and I've been training almost every day in the 96 years I've been alive to find the balance between the two."

Luna unsheathed her sword which had a blade that appeared entirely black. She called it the "Meteor Sword".
She ran up a Kobold and spin-slashed it. Afterwards, she jumped in front of another and yelled, "Fira!" A fairly large fireball shot from her hand.
(I totally ripped off Sokka's Meteor/Space Sword! 8D)

"Just how many of these things are there?" Sarah questioned as another Kobold grazed her before she struck back.

"Kobolds usually travel in large packs, between 50-100 on average. Read it in a book. And before you ask, growing up in Elven lands is quite boring so I did a lot of reading until I was old enough to start training to be a Swordmaster."

"I guess Kobold colonies are bigger than I thought, I usually fought no more than 10 while training or traveling." Sarah sighed as she dodged a strike.

"Must've been scouting parties you saw then," Talyn replied as she sliced a Kobold in half. "Good job taking those down, by the way. Scouting parties consist of the ten or so strongest members of the tribe. Which means when they're down the rest of the tribe is relatively defenseless," she added as she slew two more. "As evidenced by how easily these ones are going down."

"It's helped that they were not the most dangerous I've fought either." Sarah said as another was slain "Even though I've lived in the forest my Master has taken me to Moutains, Caves and Lakes as well. There were Nagas, Lamias, Bats, Wolves, Cockatrices, and various others."

I've never met a group that talks this much during a battle. Prospero thought to himself. Maybe since they're not actually casting spells, they can take the time to yammer away!
Prospero used his Scepter of Obsidian Fire to cast a Fireball spell on the Kobolds, killing a huge portion of them.

"Well let's worry about those beasts when we meet them. There's still a couple dozen of these jerks left!"

"It seems that even though Prospero fools around in normal circumstances, he's deadly serious in battle." Sarah thought to herself as wounded a Kobold.

Talyn quickly leapt off the backs off a few fallen Kobolds and dove into a crowd trying to circle around the group. "Tryin' to be sneaky, eh?" she yelled as her blades whirled into them.

As the enchantment of the Thundara wore off Sarah casted a Blizzara and went after another Kobold before it could strike.

Luna flipped over a Kobold and slashed its back. Another lunged at her and she quickly rolled out of the way. "Thundara!" She yelled, striking three Kobolds with lightning bolts.
"I don't recall ever facing these creatures. There's a cave near my village where various foul monsters dwell, as well as the restricted areas near my Kingdom's borders, however, none such a beast as these have I seen. Not even on my travels or patrols," Luna exclaimed and she charged towards two Kobolds.
She tossed her sword at one, impaling its chest and kicked the other onto the floor. For such a gentle person, she sure didn't fight like one.

"These aren't foul monsters, just dumb ones. No foul monster with a modicum of intelligence would attack seven warriors, regardless of their number," Talyn replied as she finished off the last of the group that was circling around. She leapt back into the main heap of Kobolds with pleasure.

"I'm surprised they haven't started running away, especially since Prospero keeps destroying them with his powerful magic." Sarah observed as she stabbed yet another as a rain of Icicles destroy more of the dwindling hoard.

"Tis true. They must lack intellect, as Talyn stated," Luna said as she dodged a strike. As she did this, she nearly fell as the ground was a bit muddy and slippery from the rain still coming down.
"Best watch your step, everyone. The weather is our enemy, at the moment," She warned.
(We need to save some for Blue. XD)

As the noise of a battle can be heard in the distance. Kaitlyn was eager to see what all the commotion was about, as she hurried towards where the sounds were coming from.
"Finally, someone around to guide me. I just hope they're friendly." Kaitlyn beginning to approach the scene as she suddenly bumps into an unsuspecting kobold knocking it off balance before turning its attention to her before...
"Freeze Sign: Frost!" was uttered by Kaitlyn as her left hand fires a wave of cold magical energy, freezing the pursuing kobold to the bone, before shattering it with a swift kick to the torso, not before attracting more unwanted attention. "Right. Who would be next!?" she shouted as she unsheathes her light saber, just bearly revealing her location to the party, as she readies herself for combat.
(For now I'm just having Kaitlyn pre-learn Mustard bomb and Frost as she may have had a run in with a wraith or two on her way.)

Freyr merely sighs as he draws his blade. It was tinted blood red, and shone with a small red aura. He brought it up and focused.
"Fell Energy spawned from inner doubts... Quell from without! Crushing Blow!" Freyr says with conviction. His sword glows stronger as he speaks, and as the final words end a spiral of dark energy surrounds a group of kobolds and encloses upon them, ending their lives.

"Damn. Glad he's on our side," Talyn commented.
"I NO GLAD!" a nearby Kobold replied.
"Oh you guys can talk? Huh, who knew?" she responded before slaying the one who spoke up.

"These beasts can speak the words of man?!" Sarah questioned though she slayed another without a thought. Hey they always ambushed her and never try to handle things civilly, why should she show them mercy?

"Not very well though," Talyn replied. "I've encountered many beasts who can talk, but they all wanted me for dinner! It's kill or be killed!"

"That's quite the dark magic you have there. I think I've seen a spell like that before, but not nearly on that level," Luna commented.
She sliced through a Koblod's shield and casted confuse on him. The Kobold then ran up to one of his own and smacked him around with his club.

"OW! STEVE! OW! STOP! OW!" said the Kobold being hit by his friend.
"Steve? Really? That's his name?" Talyn thought as she killed a few more Kobolds.

"I'd best not do that too often..." Freyr mutters as his stance destabilizes a bit from the energy drained from him. A kobold attempts to attack him at this point, but Freyr swiftly dodges to the side and cuts it down.

((One busy day and I miss this many posts? =P))
As a Kolbold rushes toward Reva she backhands the monster's make shift blade away with her buckler, the parry knocks it off balance for a second and following with a stabbing strike one shotting the kolbold. "We are a talkative group aren't we?"
The large mob of kolbolds quickly begin to dwindle in number, with the magic users and warriors taking so many out so fast it's not long before only a handful of Kolbolds remain.

As the mob before Kaitlyn began to weaken. She calmly takes her time to approach the winning party, by kiting her mob of kobolds, who are recklessly charging in for her, while keeping her rear guard up; as she slays off the front ranks one by one with her saber, while casting her Mustard Bomb against the rear ranks of kobolds, causing their bodies to overheat and collapse before they could even strike back.
"If you vermin value your miserable lives. Retreat now, or perish before my blade. It's useless trying to win in your current condition." Kaitlyn trying to persuade the kobolds, although they still prefer to ignore her and continue their hopeless attempt to overrun the party.

The smarter Kolbolds in their ranks begin to back off and run for the hills leaving only a dozen or so of the foolish ones, at this point a few good spells would be enough to finish them all at once.

"Finally, they realize how beaten they are! Took long enough!" Talyn exclaimed. "Good thing they just fade away when they die or else this field would be disgusting right about now."

As he fights, Freyr regains his energy bit by bit with each slash of his sword. He deems that it isn't quick enough, however, and turns his blade towards one of the healthier of the kobolds.
"Blade that absorbs thy life... Sanguine Sword!" Freyr exclaims, with his sword burning bright. As these words are spoken, a red pillar of light appears on the healthy kobold. He attempts to escape, however he is too slow to dodge the blade of red energy that erupts from the ground below him.
Feeling strengthened by the attack, Freyr returns to battle with renewed vigor.

Luna raised her sword above her head, "O Lady of the Lake, I call onto thee..." Blue energy swirled around her blade and crystalized into a thick ice coating. "This is something I learned when I completed the 3 trials of Avalon."
She charged at a group of Kobolds, and slammed the blade onto the ground, "Frost Tomb!" Large blocks of ice instantaneously shot up from the ground and encased the group of monsters.
Luna stuck the blade into the dirt beneath her, "May you pass on to the next life." And with that, the ice structures before her started glowing and shattered to many pieces, destroying the monsters inside.

Sarah killed a few more Kobolds and noticed she was getting a bit overwhelmed.
"Even though these Kobolds are much weaker than the ones I'm used to the numbers are staggering." Sarah thought to herself as she targeted another one "I'm glad I didn't take them on alone, I don't know if I would have survived."
(So when are we going to end this?)

Prospero used his sorcery to summon some lightning bolts and finish off the last of the Kobolds.
"Ahhh. Done! Now to see what loot these beasties were carrying, then set up camp!"

"I never quite understood why these creatures tend to have things we can use, or even money." Sarah mused as she looked around "Are they spoils from the other unfortunate adventurers who have fallen?"
-
"Pretty much. Usually it's just a little bit, but hey that's food money in another town!" Prospero said.

"That's very true." Sarah nodded as she picked up a potion and some money "Though I'm not exactly sure how useful money would be to us at the moment."
-
"It's ammo for one of my special moves, but I'd rather not risk wasting all of it myself," Talyn replied.
-
Reva manages to salvage a potion or two, some coins and short bow and some arrows. "Hm, this might come in handy, everyone seems okay considering; hopefully we won't draw another mob for a bit." Reva chuckles sounding more amused by the recent battle than worried about further monsters.
With the Kolbods dealt with nothing stands in their way. The wall of fog between their world and Zepter stands not one mile away, the group face the choice of resting or simply heading in.

Yin came out of her hiding place though Pyro wasn't around.
"Oh there you are hurt anywhere?" Sarah asked her.
Yin neighed and shook her head.
"That's good at least although you look absolutely filthy." Sarah noticed.
Yin snorted at her as if to point out that she's not any less filthy.
"I know, I know." Sarah sighed "Though unless we find a place to rest I don't think I can take care of this."

"My advice is to camp for the night, before heading into the fog. I came this way on my way into town. Not too far from here, I camped near a river." Prospero said while pointing. "The river will provide us with a security blanket from other forest monsters, as well as a place to wash and swim."

"That sounds like a fine idea." Sarah nodded.

(Wait, it's night already? Didn't we wake up a few hours ago?)

(It's better to find a resting place before night falls, besides it's still raining. Plus I'm sure we took a few hours shopping and a few hours getting there anyway.)

Luna managed to salvage 129 gil and a purple potion.
"Ah, I know what this is. It cures poison," She said as she stowed it away, "This may be useful."

Salvaging some loot from the battle, "Hmm... no ethers or elixirs. Might as well settle for the few potions." Kaitlyn seem quite disappointed not to find anything to restore the amount of magic she expended in battle. She then went over to the others hoping to speak with their leader.
"Greetings, fellow wayfarers. I'm Kaitlyn, a traveler from Eeveelice. May I speak with your leader?" She asks politely with a soft tone in her voice.
(I may have to settle with introductions from here onwards, while I wait.)

"Leader? Do we have a leader? Uh--I volunteer Prospero!" Reva motions back to him.

Luna stayed silent. Clearly, she still held some resentment towards him and his lewd behavior.

"Hahaha, gracious me I am honored!" Prospero said. "But I am no leader."

"I don't think we actually have a leader." Sarah pointed out.

"No leader huh? Do we need one?" Freyr asks quietly as he sheathes his weapon and rummages around. He picks up some gold and a potion.

"We don't know each other well enough to decide who would make the finest leader," Luna stated. "While I do have experience with leading a brigade of Knights back at my Kingdom, perhaps it would be best if this group was free from such direction? We all come from different places, have unique methods and each of us are skilled enough to make our own judgment."

Pyro, having spent the battle running around in circles chasing a chicken, failed to noticed the loot and jump on. Oddly enough, the fowl could carry his weight and kept on running around.

"....I hope that's not a brethren of a Cockatrice." Sarah sighed.
(Because if I remember correctly in 12 Cockatrices do look like giant chickens.)

"I'd rather it was Cluckatrices. Those things are tasty..." Talyn said. "Especially fried."

"And incredibly vicious if the parents finds out that we're messing around with it's chicks." Kaitlyn added, noticing that the creature's plumage was golden yellow, indicating that this in fact it was maybe a chickatrice. "If we wish to avoid any more conflict like before, I suggest not teasing that creature any further."
(I guess we're taking on an elite mark, without the petitioner's approval, I suppose.)

"I don't know if that would be possible, this boy in cleric robes is convinced that wearing pants is sinful and condems them to be burned because they upset this platypus creature, supposedly." Sarah said dryly. "I suggest that we try to find shealter as fast as possible before night falls lest we find more dangerous monsters that will try to slay us."
(I really just want to move on so Sarah can akwardly ask Prospero to teach her more powerful magic for her spellblade techs.)

"Well, if no one will claim leadership position, then you may speak to all of us, miss Kaitlyn," Luna exclaimed, "Now, what is it you wish to speak about?"

"Thanks... ma'am." She said to Luna, whose name escapes her, "To be honest, I was hoping to seek passage through this fog. As you may guess I'm quite lost trying to take directions from a goblin, and was hoping that you may lead me out. However..." Kaitlyn paused for the moment, "...for the time being, we may have hurry to the Zepter Kingdom, first thing in the morning. A certain sky pirate I've been tracking down, is already ahead of us." She added with some worry in her soft voice, "Hopefully he hasn't claimed the 'Crown' yet."

"Thy name is Luna," She said with a bow, "And... you mentioned a sky pirate? Why have you been tracking him down?" Luna wondered.

"You could say he has a huge bounty on his head for royal burglary." She added, "But in this case, I'm not in it for the gil. I fear his ambition to claim such treasury may lead to utter chaos. As I'm just trying to stop him from causing too much trouble for his... uh, my sake." Kaitlyn being cautious about choosing her next words. "I just hope he doesn't plan on selling it at the black market, or worse..." feeling a bit worried, "...figure out what it's really capable of doing."

"I see," Luna nodded, "Right now, all we can do is pray to the heavens that this sky pirate fails in his mission. We'll leave first thing in the morning," She said, soon realizing that she seemed a bit like a leader here, speaking for the group.
"Of course, if there are any objections to anything, we can work something out," She quickly added, "In the meantime, I think it best if we set up camp now. You're welcome to join us, Kaitlyn," Luna stated as she grabbed some Waterskins (pouch used to hold water), "I'm going to fill these up with water from the river near here. We have quite a long journey ahead of us."

"Again, thank you for your kindness." she makes a bow, "I'd be happy to join your ranks."
As she proudly settles in with the others, helping in anyway she can.
(I'm going to take time out here. So that I can finish my chores.)

"OBJECTION!!" Talyn exclaimed. "I don't really have an objection to anything I just like yelling that. Let's set up camp."

"I'm going to go get some hunting done... I figure we'll be needing some more food sooner than later," Freyr said as he started to wander off. "If there's anyone who wants to join, feel free... as long as you stay quiet."
(I don't expect anything to happen when hunting, as a heads up... unless one of you decides otherwise :P)

Reva helps set up the camp with the others, once a bonfire is lit and some make shift shelters she takes a seat cleaning her longsword, a curious blue blade that is semi-transparent.

Edit: ((Once we get inside I'll lead the party toward the "hub" area that will be our base for the adventure after that the four areas I thought up can be tackled in any order everyone wants. Also the sky pirates gives me an idea. =D ))

(Well in Bravely Default Barras was a fight happy Monk who doesn't like strategy, the only tatics he sees are frontal assaults and death by frontal assaults. Barbarossa is such a jovial pirate to the point that you can't believe he's an enemy, but he still enjoys a brawl and is really strong.)

"I feel like the prologue to our journey is coming to an end and the first chapter on this quest is ready to begin," Talyn said offhandedly.

As Luna kneeled down by the edge of the river to fetch water, her pendant dangled in front her from around her neck. She smiled and opened the clasp, revealing a photo of a baby with white hair.
"This journey is for you, my dear sister, and for everyone of Rhizome. I promise I'll return safely," She kissed the pendant and tucked it in the front of her shirt.
Luna then continued to collect the water.

"Well I need some exercise. And to wash the stench of Kobold off!" Prospero said. "I'll be in the river!"

Sarah was busy cleaning Yin and washing her clothes at the river. Instead of her regular armor she wore a long sleve black shirt with the sleeves rolled up and brown shorts.
After a while she heard footsteps and saw Prospero coming.
"Oh Mr. Prospero...I didn't expect you to come here so fast." Sarah said slightly surprised.

"Sorry to startle you, young one." Prospero responded. "I was just about to go for a swim. Sorcery isn't just about the mental. One should keep up with the physical as well!
"Sorry if I disturbed you!" he said while taking off his top and throwing it on the tree branch.

Sarah blushed profusely since this was the first time she saw a man without a shirt.
"I...see....." Sarah squeeked.

"You seem to have some arcane in you as well. Tell me, what kind of magic do you practice?" Prospero asked.

"Spellblade." Sarah stated trying to keep her composure "I enchant my sword with magic."

Luna glanced over at Prospero taking a dip in the river, while everyone else was doing something productive.
She sighed and continued to fetch the last bit of water she needed.

"Fascinating." Prospero said. "A very unique form of magic. Well, my apologies for interrupting you!"
Prospero slipped into the river.

Reva glances into the fire while lightly polishing the translucent blade of her sword, carefully placing it down she pulls a small emblem from her bag tracing the engraved markings with her thumb.
"They say theres an old temple dedicated to worship of a dragon in Zepter, the king of dragons; if that map I have is still right it might be the first structure we'll find if we follow the old highway once we get past the fog." Reva says out loud not to any member of the party in particular. "A holy temple abandoned or not might make a safe spot to set up in, not like we're going to find any settlements in Zepter besides monsters and the rare traveler like us."

Sarah sat there in shock at how nonchalant Prospero acted when an idea struck her head and she got her wits about her.
"Mr. Prospero....." Sarah gulped "There.....was actually something I wanted to ask you."

"Please. Ask away, young one!" Prospero said as he stood by the base of the river, washing his hair.

"Well you see.....there was another reason I left the forest and my master." Sarah began hesitantly "He said that he couldn't teach me any more spells to enchant my blade, or stronger versions beyond the second level of elements. He wanted me to find someone who was stronger than he in the arcane arts....and you most certainly are.
So as much as I don't really deserve to ask this....would you help me get stronger?"

Prospero stood there, thinking about what Sarah said to him. "Me? Teach you? Heh!"
He got out of the water and began drying himself. "Well, I've never taught anyone before. I'm not exactly sure how good of a teacher I'll be. However, I am willing to learn if you are!"

"I thank you...." Sarah sighed in relief.

"I will teach you during this journey, but for now I have something important to tell you!" Prospero said as he walked up to Sarah. "For myself, mastering the dark arts has slightly warped my brain. Sorcery normally requires concentration and timing, but I was taught a different way. My way is more reactionary. I process information fast and I cast spells the same way. However, due to this...well hahahaha, I kind of say things without thinking. SO, you are free to slap me or punch me if I say something....stupid!"

Talyn walked over to where Reva was. "So, a holy temple, you say? Wonder if there are any nice beds and stuff left that haven't been ravaged. Or what if the fog itself acts as a preservative, like time has slowed down... What do you think?" she asked.

"Honestly I'm not sure, I only have legends and hearsay to go on but anyone who didn't run when the chaos it was never seen again, either they died or were dragged off by the monsters. It was so long ago I can't image anyone is still around, unless your theory is true."

"I'm glad I probably won't have to rely on him too much," Freyr said as he appeared from behind some trees, carrying a wild boar over his shoulder. "Who's hungry?"

"I'm absolutely famished." Sarah said as she and Yin walked up to the others still armorless.

Luna just started to head back to the camp area when she saw Freyr carrying a wild boar.
"That was rather fast!" She stated.

"If you know what you're doing hunting is actually pretty easy." Sarah noted.

"Need help slicing that boar up?" Talyn offered, her twin blades unsheathed and ready for action.

"Talyn it would be much better if you use this." Sarah said holding a dagger "There's a chance that you will slice it up wrong and lose meat if you use you're swords carelessly."

"I should probably go wash these off before using them on what we're eating anyhow..." Talyn said, leaving towards a nearby stream to clean her blades.

Luna took out her dagger and started to cut out some of the boar's meat.
"Oh, I see we already have a spit!" She exclaimed joyously and impaled the meat with a stick. She placed the meat on the spit over the fire and slowly turned the handle to roast it.

As Talyn got near the water, she noticed that Prospero was still there.
"Oy, Prospero! Got something to ask ya!" she yelled as she walked over to where he was standing.

Sarah continued cutting out steaks for everyone else very carefully, at least Luna was careful when she took her piece.

"Just curious about something. How is it that you don't appear to have aged a day even though that time you were in my village was so long ago? I mean I suppose it's possible you might have partial Elven heritage or something, but... I don't think that's the case..." she asked.

"Well, to be honest, it was my mother." Prospero stated. "Yeaaah, she was kind of overprotective of me. On her last day in this realm, she used her remaining magic to cast an eternal youth spell on me. I'm not quite immortal, mind you. I just age a lot slower than most people, which is why the Elves and I get along so well!"

"I see... That explains a lot... Guess the good thing about aging slowly is that you have that much more time to study magic, right?" Talyn replied.

"Indeed it does!" Prospero smiled. "As well as hook up with many a maiden!"

"Haha, fair enough. Well these blades are about clean... That napping armory we came across earlier... Freyr, I think his name was... He caught a boar, so when you're hungry head back. Should be ready by then!" Talyn said with a smile as she left back towards the camp.

"Phew I managed to finish cutting the boar." Sarah sighed in relief.

"Oh come on! You didn't leave any for me!" Talyn exclaimed as she returned to camp, a bit disappointed.

"Well you kind of took awhile." Sarah stated "Anyway is Prospero still swimming?"

"Perhaps next time, you may cut up as many beasts as you like and serve them out!" Luna laughed.

"Swimming, it seems. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go stab things since YOU DIDN'T LET ME CUT THE BOAR!!" Talyn exclaimed as she went to a nearby tree and started hacking away at it.

"And that is why I didn't let her cut the boar." Sarah whispered quietly as she took a piece of meat for herself and turned it with the spittle "I hope Prospero finishes swimming soon, I really need to bathe myself."

"I'll show them who's able to cut things carefully," Talyn murmured to herself as she carefully cut away at the tree, each slice precise in its angle and power.

Sarah discreetly looked at Talyn's swordsmanship and slightly smirked. Even though she still had a long way to go in terms of discipline and grace, it was a start.

"Almost done with this... Time to find another tree for another example of my finesse," Talyn muttered as she moved to another tree, again precisely chopping at exact angles.

Prospero walked back to camp, still shirtless and drying himself off! "Mmmmmmm something smells good!"

"Freyr killed a boar and I cut up a share for everyone." Sarah stated "Though we have to save one for Talyn, I wounded her pride a bit and now she's cutting trees up in a fury. I hope the forest spirts don't get angry at her."

"And that makes three," Talyn said happily as she walked back to camp, her aggression worked out. She walked up to Sarah and dropped three finely-crafted wooden figurines at her feet. One was a rather detailed Kobold, another was a boar, and the third was Sarah's horse. "I can be delicate with my swords when I need to be, ya know. I'm a Swordmaster, it's kinda what I'm known for."

"Anyways, I think I'll go cut a slice myself to cook, since it appears there's some meat left on that boar," she said, walking over to the slain animal. She pulled a small dagger out of her boot and quickly carved out a slice in the shape of a hand. She then walked over to the fire and pulled a metal sheet out of her bag and set it in the flames, placing the hand-steak on it and using the dagger to press on the meat to cook it better.

"Hmm she may have taken that a bit too far." Sarah thought to herself "I hope she doesn't try to make slices in different shapes when she tries to slice a boar next, it would waste a lot of meat and attract other monsters if she's not careful."
(Yeah Sarah's a tough critic, I'm sorry. :\ It's not that she thinks Talyn is inferior to her, she certainly couldn't make figurings that detailed that fast and she knows that Talyn is much stronger than her., but she's pretty concerned about a few things like Talyn's lack of paitience and her tendency to boast without being careful.
I seem to remember the attracting monsters part from that time Sapph sliced a Sawsbuck in the Pokemon RP.)

"Ah, medium rare. Perfect!" Talyn exclaimed, taking the metal sheet off the fire and chowing down on the steak.

"Quite a catch there!" Reva expands the fire so it's easier to cook on, once everyone has eaten their fill Reva beacons everyone to gather around. Laying out an old map on top of flat stone near the bonfire.
"So I was talking to Talyn, my old map shows a temple dedicated to Bahamut not to far from where we are on the old road, once we get into the fog I think we should head there first; the temple should be sealed up and I managed to get a hold of the key on my travels. The temple might be a good place to set up a base in Zepter right?" Reva doesn't exactly go into detail how she gained such a map or the key but seems confident that it's a good plan.

"Well we might have to clear it out a bit first, but this sounds like a solid plan to me." Prospero said. "You make a good leader, Reva!"

"Having a base would be very useful for us, especially since I need to make my spells stronger for the challenges ahead." Sarah nodded.

"I do? I-I was just giving us some options really." Reva looks away a little embarrassed at the compliment.

"I find it somewhat ironic that you 2 think the other is a better leader than yourselves. I can see why too, both of you have great qualities for a leader. Of course there is always room for improvement." Sarah stated.

"Indeed there is," Talyn said between mouthfuls of her handsteak. "We can never truly achieve perfection, for no matter how high he reach there is always room for us to grow more. Or something like that... old saying my Master used to spout endlessly while training me in the ways of the blade."

"My master said something similar." Sarah nodded "Although his behavior is.....much more questionable than Prospero at times he was very strict when training me. He was a jack of all trades, arcane arts, healing magic and swordsmanship but he was a master of none of them.
His Black Magic is nothing compared to Prospero, his White Magic not as potent as a white mage his age and he even said my swordsmanship was better than his at his prime. But he valued the versitility he had at his disposal despite not focusing on one skill, however he said that I shouldn't be like him since my swordsmanship was superior to his which was why he trained me as hard as he could until he could train me no more."

Another thing is that Prospero and Reva have never once had a situation of prejudice or distain against another member, Luna still doesn't see beyond Prospero's lecherous moments, and while Sarah doesn't hold ill will against anyone she can be very harsh and point out a flaw without restraint, even if she didn't outright say it to Talyn she really didn't hide it nor did she want to because again she was concerned about Talyn's seemingly lack of discipline.
There's a lot of factors to being a good leader and just because Luna's led a brigade doesn't mean she's a good leader for the group because the knights probably don't have our quirks.)

(Yeah, I think a big part of this journey will be our characters getting to know each other and overcoming our shortcomings to be even stronger. Talyn is incredibly prideful, and that is something she'll need to overcome to reach her true potential. Sarah's talents are stunted due to her master's shortcomings, but training with Prospero will make her stronger. Everyone needs to overcome something on this journey.)
"Say, Sarah, just wondering... Are you able to enchant other's blades? Not that I want you to do it now, just wondering in case we come up against something weak to, say, electricity, and having all our weapons enchanted with that element would serve us to take it down faster," Talyn asked.

"Hmmm I've never tired before, but I would need contact with the blade to do it. While I can cast my enchantment spells faster than a normal mage it would still take time to cast it on multiple weapons one at a time, and since you have 2 swords yours would take twice as long.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I could, maybe, but we need to make sure we can fine an opportunity to do so and not be caught off guard." Sarah explained.

"Understandable. Just thought it might be a viable strategy down the line, if necessary," Talyn replied.

"Well if that's what you all want I can take charge of this treasure hunt, but if at any time I mess up I won't hold it against you all to choose someone else." Reva's expression seemed a little taken back by the offer.

Freyr quietly ate his steak and listened to everyone talking, deciding not to jump in during the leader-appointing session. He decided instead to examine the map that Reva had layed out for future reference, in case something were to happen to it. He takes mental notes of as many as the landmarks as possible.

(There's more to her than simply leading a brigade. Much more. As I'm sure there's more to everyone in the group. And she doesn't hate Prospero, she's just disapproving of his lewd behavior (remember, she believes the body is sacred), and him swimming while everyone was working hard didn't help his image, in her eyes.
But, that's just how she was raised; she firmly believes in strong work ethic, the sanctity of each individual and respects everyone for the most part, even Prospero, in the sense that he's not scared to hold back and can stand up for himself no matter what. She respects his strengths and she has to accept what she sees as his flaws. Because she's such a strong believer of principals, it's a bit difficult for her to accept the ones she's uncomfortable with.
And of course there's more to being a leader than leading a group. You need extreme patience, generosity, the ability to work well with others and acceptance of different point-of-views; the latter of which Luna is working on.
There's a reason why I stated that she completed the 3 Trials of Avalon; it's no small feat and tests how trustworthy you are, your stamina and strength of heart. She's not just a simple mage, and I don't see how the brigade of Knights wouldn't have quirks like the rest of us; they're no different. They're people, after all, so of course they all have very different personalities/views and it tested Luna's resolve and how far she's willing to go to protect her Kingdom.
And really, everyone in the group has the potential to be a leader, but we still don't know each other well enough, which is why Luna declined to being one; she has to prove herself to them, even if she knows she has experience with being a leader. Reva is the one with the map and knows the lay of the land, making her the most viable candidate, at the moment.
Anyway, sorry that this post is so long, I have a habit of getting invested in these things; as seen by my wall o' text response to Ruri about The Last of Us.)

"Common Prospero lets hear about your adventures." Reva beckoned him to sit down by the bonfire to give Serah some privacy.

"My adventures, eh?" Prospero said while sitting down, still shirtless. "Hmmmm let's see....oh yes. I can tell you about the last time I was in a group, such as this one. It was many, many moons ago. I was at the Castle of Havoc, defending it against a swarm of Griffins. It was after we kinda raided their treasure cave. A fierce battle took place, but we emerged victorious. The Queen of Havoc then...rewarded us."

Sarah arrived at the river and noticed that along with her armor drying on a makeshift rack was Prospero's shirt still on the tree branch.
"I better hurry before he comes to gander a peek at the my naked form with that as an excuse." Sarah sighed as she removed her other clothes and eased herself in the water.
As Sarah washed herself she remembered Prospero's words of sorcery being not just about the mental concentraition but keeping up with the physical burden as well.
"Hmm I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get some swimming in." Sarah thought to herself as she started doing laps.

Luna heard splashing coming from the river in the distance. Sarah must have been swimming, she thought.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to swim around for a bit... we've set up everything and all. Reva? Talyn? Do you want to come with me to cool off in the river before we turn in for the night?" She asked them and snuck a quick glance at Prospero, "And please no peeking!"
(Women see each other nude all the time, so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal for the ladies in the group to take a dip. They were probably more open about it in medieval times, too. Unless, we should just skip to the next day and leave out the filler?)

You see, it turns out that the Griffins weren't even attacking us due to the treasure. The Queen of Havoc had captured some of them, and were using their wings & claws for some kind of an ancient spell. So we had to put a stop to her. We destroyed the castle and managed to make off with some of the treasure! So yeah....rewarded!"
Prospero looked into the fire afterwards. "That was the last time I was with a party. ANYWAY, I just realized that I left my shirt by the river bank! I'll.........be right back."

It doesn't take Reva too much brainpower to guess what Prospero is plotting, dusting her lap off she stands "I'm going to head up for my swim too...before Serah kills him--and the river."

Sarah started hearing foot steps and sighed.
"Just like my master, but at least he's easier to aim at." Sarah thought to herself as she went underwater.

Sarah came up and threw a Blizzara enchanted rock at his shoulder while covering her chest in her other arm.

"On second thought I think I'd rather stay here by the fire," Talyn said. "It's getting rather chilly anyways."

While watching Prospero and Sarah's interactions, Luna felt like she was back at the public theater in her village, where actors would go on stage and perform comedy acts for the general public.

"A little cold, huh?!" Prospero playfully said while dodging the rock. "I can make it even colder for you!"
He then whipped up a cloud above Sarah's head, which blew frigid wind and snow at her.

"Y-you don't think my m-m-master didn't d-do things like this to m-m-me?" Sarah shivered more as she tried to actually cast Thundara on him.
(Sarah can cast the actual spells but a Thundara from her would be much weaker than a Thundara from Prospero, hench why she never casts spells in battle.)

"This man is relentless!" Luna observed and was turned off from taking a swim. At least until his perverted barrage was over.

"Thanks," she replied before carefully studying the map, noting landmarks and such. As she examined the old parchment, she wondered just where the artifact might be within this long forgotten kingdom, and just how accurate the map was considering the countless ages that have passed since the fog first settled around the land.

Prospero dissipated the spell over her head, as he could see she was shivering. He then cast a light heating spell on the water to warm it up.
"I'm actually impressed by what your master has taught you." he said as he also warmed his shoulder up. "That enchanted Blizzara spell was impressive, as was that Thundara enchanted rock under extreme conditions."

"Yes yes very nice, but you two really need to be more careful what if you had damaged the forest?" Reva steps up beside Prospero crossing her arms.

"That's about the strongest I can muster." Sarah said panting as the water warmed up again. "My master tried to teach me magic proper but he noticed that my spells weren't as strong as they could have been and I never got the hang of healing spells, my swordsmanship was all I had so he instead taught me how to infuse my sword with elements and ailments."

"Fascinating!" Prospero stated as he put his shirt back on! "And Reva's right. I think we've done enough damage. You finish up here and then meet me by the fire. I want to take a look at this sword of yours!"

Pyro sat by the fire, tossing pairs of pantaloons to fuel it well his platypus and chicken mount played cards.

Sarah showed up in her long black sleeve shirt and shorts as she saw the site of burning pants.
"Do I even dare want to know where acquired those?" Sarah asked dryly.

When Prospero was out of sight, Luna finally felt comfortable in taking a swim. She removed her clothing, placed her sword by a tree and gently descended herself into the pleasingly warm river.
"Ahh, I haven't felt this relaxed in far too long. It's like my entire body is being massaged!" Luna exclaimed with a calming sigh.
She noticed Reva examining the map, "Reva, care to join me? It's delightful!" Luna said as she waved her over.

Sarah decided that it was better not knowing about the pants and went over to Prospero.
"So why did you want to see my sword?" Sarah asked as she showed him the sword.

Prospero inspected the sword. "I wanted to see if there was anything special about it. Any magic runes on the blade, or anything like that. Does this sword have a history or special meaning for you?"

"Well my master gave it to me when I set off to find the kingdom of Zepter and possibly find someone to teach me stronger magic. I'm not sure if there's something unusual about it, I'm not a treasure hunter by any means. But there might be, my master is quite old and certainly not human." Sarah explained as best she could.

"Hmmmmmm" Prospero hummed as he used his magic to examine the sword further. "Ahhh yeah, there it is. There's are some runes hidden on the blade. Let's see he...yes. Elemental Runes."

"Elemental runes?" Sarah asked.

"Indeed, Sarah!" Prospero said as the runes were illuminated on the sword for a brief moment. "Your master used his magic to carve these runes onto the blade of your sword. This way, the metal of the blade is stronger. Not only is it a good defense against elemental attacks such as fire and ice, but it also helps the offensive strength when you enchant the blade."

"Hmm that makes some sense, he did mention once that he had some talent in smithing so that must be why he was able to do something like that. Though I don't usually see him make things with his equipment, he said it would be dangerous for me to even be in the room without smithing knowledge.
I've only seen him use his spinning wheel for lighter armor.....and things I dare not describe." Sarah gulped.

Prospero got wide-eyed after hearing that. "Whoa....anyway, the stronger your magic gets, the stronger your sword will become when you enchant it!"

"I see...I'm glad he's always watched over me all these years." Sarah sniffed as she started to tear up.

Prospero thinks about what she said about the spinning wheel.
"Yeaaaaaah, that's great, Sarah!"

Sarah blinked and slapped Prosperoin the face.
"Do not get any ideas in that lecherous head of yours!" Sarah yelled though she didn't bother wiping the tender tears she already shed.

"ME? You're the one who keeps telling me what a lech your master was?" Prospero said while rubbing his face!

"I....I know....I can't help it....it kind of bothers me a bit." Sarah sighed "I don't know why he acts that way....and I really don't like it either...."

"I don't know why people keep thinking I'm a lech!" Prospero stated. "Sure, I like magical boobies, but I think I'm polite about it!"

"I haven't really had contact with other people." Sarah stated "I'm still trying to get familiar with your customs. Many things are new to me to be honest, I don't know what to think really."

"Well, you'll learn as you go!" Prospero stated. "I'll be sure to teach you everything I know!"

"I thank you." Sarah bowed.

"It's my pleasure." Prospero said. "The arcane, like the human body, should be explored as much as possible. It's knowledge should be passed down to those that are eager to learn!"

"I'm pretty sure lines like that are the reason you're called a lech, Prospero," Freyr said as he heard him talking about the human body being explored as much as possible.

"Now that the drama is over sure!" Reva folds the map up neatly and places it in her pack storing the small leather pack near her Sword and shield, moving to the edge of the water glancing back to make sure a certain mage wasn't being curious again she removed her clothing and left it in a near pile at the bank. Slipping in Reva went under for a moment till she was used to the water before surfacing. "I'm glad you offered this water is perfect, not to cold or warm."

The Next morning....
Reva slept soundly after the dip in the lake, it had been along time since she had gone for swim. The night passed quickly and soon the sun began to rise over the top of the trees.
Reva as the first member up began preparing breakfast, it was a long road ahead and the smell of meat of some sort soon caused the party to stir. Once fed and packed the group returned to the old highway and pressed north; it wasn't long before a huge wall of fog appeared before them as if reaching the heavens the stories did not prepare them for the real thing however.
"Tthis is Zepter's boarder? Well I suppose if anyone has cold feet now is the time to back out." Reva tightens the strap on her shield and confirms her blade is still at her side. Once they stepped through who knew what was going to happen.

"Now's not the time to be afraid." says Kaitlyn in a calm tone, "Just remain calm and limit any spell casting."
"Fog this thick usually summon elementals. But do not worry, as long as we're not magic frenzying, they won't bother us." Kaitlyn advises. "Now let us make haste. Karn must've made his move already by now."

"No magic huh." Sarah remarked "I can manage without it but what about Prospero?"

"Hmm... now that you've mentioned it. That does pose a problem." Kaitlyn sounding a little worried, "Prospero does have other ways of battling, doesn't he? Not that we need to worry too much about battling." She added.
"Elementals are neither friend or foe, so they may help us if our foes were provoked into casting magic."

Propsero suddenly summoned a Quarterstaff out of nowhere.
"I can go without magic for a while. Miranda and I will take care of each other!" Prospero stated.

"M-Miranda?" Sarah questioned.

"Miranda!" Prospero said while holding up his quarterstaff. "My quarterstaff here. It's what I call it!"

"Ahh... Miranda's your staff." Kaitlyn replying to the obvious, while scratching her head, "For a moment there, I thought you were going to summon an Esper." She thought.

"Why would you name your staff like that?" Sarah asked.

"I like to name my stuff!" Prospero responded. "Especially this sexy beauty of a Quarterstaff. Miranda has been with me ever since I began adventuring!"

"But why Miranda of all things?" Sarah continued questioning him, she was legitimately curious.

"No real reason, actually!" Prospero said as he thought of the first girl he ever slept with. "Just the first name I thought of!"

"I....find that hard to believe." Sarah admited.

Reva chuckles at the topic and then turns back toward the thick fog. and places her hand on the strange wall out of curiosity, she suddenly feels a pull as if something had grabbed her wrist "Aah!" Reva begins to slide forward despite her best efforts closer into the fog.

Luna tightened her grip on her sword and looked ahead, "We can save the chit-chat for later. If there was ever a time to prove ourselves, now would be the time. I'm ready."
Suddenly, she saw Reva ominously sliding forward as she touched the wall, "Reva!" She ran over to her and tried to pull her hand away from the wall, "This force is too strong! I could use some help!"

"Oh no!" Sarah shouted as she tried to help Luna pull Reva out, but it was a fruitless effort.

Anyone grabbing onto Reva find themselves being tugged into the fog as well, Reva feels her arm beginning to go numb as she's drawn into the wall and suddenly she's gone along with anyone still grabbing on.

"SARAH!" Prospero watched as the three of them disappeared into the fog. "Well, already off to a promising start!"
Prospero then turned to the other party members and asked "Do we go in after them or examine the fog a bit first? Perhaps see if there's another way in that doesn't involve violent sucking."

Not knowing whether she would live or die, Luna shut her eyes and a flash went off in her head. She saw her baby sister in that moment, and with a tear rolling down her face as she was pulled into the unknown, she waited for what fate had in store for her.

((First for Reva/Luna/and Serah))
As the three are dragged into the fog they begin to lose consciousness, they all however feel an odd sense of vertigo and displacement as they cross the barrier and then suddenly pass out.
Luna and Serah awaken to find themselves laying on a cold stone floor, Reva isn't too far from them and hadn't awoken quite yet. A quick look of the immediate area reveals a poorly lit cell of some sort, only a dim blue flame in the hall beyond provides any real light. luckily the iron door had long rusted off leaving them quite free to leave. It would seem what ever brought them into this place may have been simply random rather than a monster dragging them here. Both woman feel quite uneasy as if they had just woken from a deep sleep.
((Now the others))
The rest of the party feel the same sense of vertigo as they cross and like before quickly pass out from the effect, when they awake they find them selves in what seems like a large court yard, great grey stone walls stand around them. Any one there who read the map remembers that a fortress stood as the only way into Zepter and it's likely they had been dumped there.
A quick glance of the immediate area reveals the fortress has long been abandoned, although that doesn't mean it's uninhabited, the gate to head further into Zepter is closed and way to big to force open either physically or through magic.

"Reva, Reva please wake up!" Sarah shouted and nudged at her.

"Uhh---S-serah?" Serah's nudging seemed to have the desired effect, Reva began to stir lightly her face was quite pale as if it had had a worse effect on her, with a little assistance she manages to sit up. "W-what happened, where are we?" Reva looks around the cell rubbing her eyes again.

"I don't know, I've never seen a place like this before." Sarah shook her head "What are these metal poles for?"

"They're not here..." Freyr says as he scans the area, his sword at the ready. "We'll have to move forward... here's to hoping they're fine."

"A door maybe? Why is the flame on that torch blue?" Reva points to the wall beyond the cell.

"I....I don't know." Sarah shook her head.

Yin who ended up with the group in the court yard nudged Prospero as she was worried for her rider and couldn't see her anywhere.

"I feel a little cold...but I can still walk." Reva struggled to stand up using the dusty wall to keep herself stable. "I wonder if the others followed us in?"

"They're not here..." Freyr says as he scans the area, his sword at the ready. "We'll have to move forward... here's to hoping they're fine."
"Agreed!" Prospero said. "Stay alert, everyone. This could be a trap."

"Yeah, I agree. We should find out exactly where we ended up and how to escape," Luna nodded and stepped out of the door and into the hallway. There were two directions: right and left.

"If-if lost underground or in a ruin try to find what side has the fresher air." Reva follows Luna out into the hall drawing her blade just in case.

Luna nodded and walked down the left side. As she continued walking, the air had a moldy and stale smell to it. It also felt like it was getting warmer.
"That isn't the correct way," She stated and walked to the right of the hallway, "We should go to the right. Come, let's hurry," Luna said as she drew her sword.

"Right it is then." Sarah nodded as she drew her sword as well.

Pyro mounted his cockatrice, "I smell pants! Burns them for the glory of the magical platypus!"

Yin whinnied as if she was sighing at Pyro's exclamation.

The Path winds, and more than a few times the party swear that can see things moving in the shadows only causing them to increase their pace, soon the three emerge into what appears to be an arena of some sort, possibly a place where soldiers trained or forced prisoners and slaves to fight for their amusement?
As the group take in the area looking for a way out they notice light pouring in from above the iron grate taking up most of the ceiling seems to be in the courtyard above.

Kaitlyn coming to after hearing Pyro's little chant, she bearly catches a quick glimpse of someone's red scarf and shadow disappearing in the distance. She had a slight chill that she may be familiar with that scarf somewhere before.
"Be careful, everyone I don't think we're alone here." she warns the others, keeping her light saber ready for whatever might befall unexpectedly upon her group, "Check for blind spots in our ranks, we don't want to get careless."

"Up there is surely our way out," Luna commented, "There has to be a stairway of some sort," She looked around for an exit.

"What...what is this place?" Sarah asked still looking around, though the area made her feel uneasy.

((It's a tall ceiling, it's an underground arena of moderate size. You have the large open area where people battled, a tall wall, the seats, then the wall up to the ceiling.))
"It smells like blood..." Reva frowns
There doesn't seem to be a stair case but if they could get onto the seating area not far above it would be possible to look for a way out, theres also an opening on the far side where the combatants and equipment could be taken else where; maybe up?
As Luna looks up she notices movement up above through the steel grates allowing light into the arena, what ever the shadows are it sounds like chatting and the voices sound familiar...

"Wait a second, those voices... They sound like Prospero and the others!" Luna exclaimed with relief, "Thank goodness they're safe! Perhaps they can help us get out of here."
Luna ran up to the top of the seating area and shouted towards the grates, "TALYN!! PROSPERO!! FREYR, CAN YOU HEAR US?! WE'RE DOWN HERE!!!"

"Prospero, everyone please help out of here! It's....creepy down here." Sarah shouted not too far behind.

Kaitlyn feeling a bit relieved after hearing Luna's voice.
"Thank goodness you're alright." she responds, "Is everyone okay down there?"

"Yes we're fine!" Sarah sighed in relief "Is Yin with you?"

"Yes, she seems a bit lonely, but she's fine with the rest of us here." Kaitlyn replies back.

"Well at least we all made it out..." Reva signs still looking a little pale. "I-I think we can make our way out of this creepy arena if we..."
Suddenly the group both in the Arena and above feel the ground shake, Luna, Serah and Reva all notice a large lumbering shadow moving into the arena from the other opening on the other side although it's hard to tell what it is as of yet. It appears their yelling woke up something big.

"W-what's going down there?" Kaitlyn being koncked off balance by the tremor, "Why's the ground shaking?"
(I sense a Shadow of the Colossus scene here.)

(Dear God, I hope so.)
"This does not look good! Prepare yourselves!" Luna assumed a fighting stance with her sword drawn, in case the shadow moved in closer to them.

"Oh I really hope it doesn't notice us." Sarah said quietly as she began to enchant her blade.

"That voice came from beneath us! We must get down there as quickly as possible, cause that rumbling can't possibly be good!" Talyn exclaimed as she looked for a way down.

As Talyn finishes her sentence her eyes pick out a large number of humanoid shapes shambling from the various doors of the fortress, the sound of clanking armor gets louder and soon roughly ten or so armored men have the group surrounded; any hope of them being sane is quickly lost as their features betray their nature, their ragged rusty armor hanging on over a transformed beast like body.
Beast Soldiers
Former soldiers of Zepter, in the golden age these warriors wearing shining gold and red armor were the pride of King's military might and were praised for their bravery and wills of steel. Typically preferring sword and shield, Halberds, Spears and Axes a few of these knights would sometimes practice archery.
When the fog engulfed the kingdom these knights remained at their post protecting their homeland even as chaos fell around them, now their bodies have been monstrously changed with elongated limbs and beast like faces. Their sanity has long since left these hollowed warriors.
((There are roughly ten of these beast knights surrounding your group, I'll leave the armament up to you, their long clawed arms and legs give them good reach on top of what ever weapon they have equipped, however they are quite slow and only attack with brute force not the skill of a trained knight.))
The Reya, Serah and Luna retreat back slightly as the glowing red eyes of massive shadow emerges, a giant of humanoid shape protected in thick blue armor and wielding a massive great sword in one hand as if it were nothing. The blade it's self is nearly as big as the three woman and getting hit by that would mean certain death.
Iron Giant
An animated suit of armor forged by the blacksmiths of Dragon's Peak and the sorceries of the Sage's Spire. A crystal acts as the giant's core and is believed to be the trapped soul of a convicted criminal sentenced to death. The control rod that once directed this mass of iron has long since been lost and now the giant merely attacks anyone in it's path. It's presence in the arena hints that it was forced to fight the unwilling participants for the amusement of the soldiers.
((The Iron Giant nearly stands above the seating area so yeah this could be a SotC type fight. Simple slashing it to death might not work. 8D))

(I don't think I'll be able to give feedback, since the night has taken over. Was hoping to throw in a stray arrow or two, from mystery character. Somewhat assisting prospero's group in a way. But I'm going to let that pass until tomorrow.)

"Oh Lord, look at the size of that thing!" Luna observed and got closer to it, "Well, the bigger they are..." She aimed two fingers at the Iron Giant, "Thundara!!" Lightning bolts struck him, but didn't seem to be that effective.

"Quite the welcoming committee, I see. Are they trying to welcome us to our doom, cause I really don't think that'll be happening today," Talyn quipped, her blades out in a flash. "Let's deal with these beasties so we can help our fellow companions down below, eh?" With that, she leapt into battle against an axe-wielder.
(Using dat weapon triangle from FE for kicks haha)

“One thing my master taught me as a general rule of thumb is if they are made of metal, they are most likely weak to lighting." Sarah said as she finished enchanting her blade with a Thundara "However we can't take it head on it must have weak spots."

No worries post when you can, gives everyone else a chance to catch up))
The Thundara while not enough to pierce it's iron hide does stagger the beast a little, and it's possible more spells of that element may create a weak point in it's defenses if she has the mana to spare.
"Maybe try for the gaps in it's joints, even a monster in armor has to have the same weakness as a person!" Reva draws her weapon it's triangular blade glows blue at the creature's presence as if in warning, putting her poor condition in the back of her head she charges at the beast it predictably attempts to crush her with it's great sword however she manages to evade with a slide coming to halt just behind it before staggering back to her feet. The Iron giant glances back at Reva it's attention off the other two for a moment.

Talyn's leap takes the axe wielding beast knight off balance giving her ample time to follow up her advance, she and the others get the idea that these beast knights aren't really working as a team in fact several seem to be fighting for who gets to eat what party member for dinner.

"It looks like those guys are arguing over who gets to eat us for dinner," Talyn commented. "Don't they know anything? It's still morning, at least fight over who has us for breakfast!!" she exclaimed as she sliced an arm off her foe.

The beast soldier rears back in pain growling at Tayln for taking it's arm, it makes a rather obvious swig with it's remaining Axe/Arm.

"I suppose I'll take this one here," Freyr says as he approaches one holding a spear. "If you need any help Prospero, give me a shout."
With that, Freyr rushes in swiftly towards the spear user.

-The Spear wielding beast soldier turtles behind his shield and attempts to catch Freyr with a poke.

Talyn easily blocked the attack and deflected it in a way that the beast soldier dug his own axe into his side, growling in pain. "Hey, Prospero, you know any Haste spells cause those would be useful right about now!" she yelled as she finished the job and moved onto a foe wielding a large broadsword.

(Black Mages usually don't know Haste, White Mages do however. Black Mages can use Slow though.)

--The Broad Sword wielding Beast Soldier swings his sword above his head and brings it down with the intent of crushing Talyn.

Talyn quickly slides beneath the foe while he's focused on his downswing and turns around, stabbing him in the shoulder blades. Howling in pain, the soldier drops his weapon, the hilt landing on his head and knocking him out. "Well that was easy," she quipped before heading over to another foe.

-As Talyn finishes off another soldier she feels a surge of pain as an arrow embeds it's self deep in her left shoulder. a sword and shield wielding Beast Soldier also begins to bare down on her.

Sarah saw the opening that Reva made and decided the best way to take care of the giant was to climb up him.
"Luna I need you distract him and cover me with healing spells." Sarah said as she raced up to him as quick as she could started to climb it. The giant noticed her and began to try to shake her off but she kept hold of him.

"GAH!" Talyn screamed as the arrow went in. "Oh well, this is why I trained in the ways of dual wielding. If one arm goes down, I still have an equally powerful one in reserve," she said as she started to fend off the new foe's attacks. "Shame they got my dominant side though..."

-Deciding to take advantage as well Reva jabs her blade right between the gap in it's grieve armor, a muffled cry form the mass of iron indicated their theory on weak points was correct and swings it's blade around in anger catching Reva with the blunt side of the sword sending her flying back and colliding back first into the nearby wall.

Reva seems to be out cold from the blow, and with the Iron Giant now free to turn it's attention to Serah it begins to reach for the Sword Mage with it's free hand.

Freyr dodges the spear and attempts to find an opening, but merely meets the shield. He gets parried away, and the beast lunges in with the spear. Taking the opportunity, Freyr swings at the beast's exposed arm.

-Freyr's cut strikes true and takes a rather nasty chunk of it's spear arm forcing the weapon to the ground and giving him a chance to bring it down.

Luna ran up to the giant to provide distraction, but didn't make it in time to stop Reva from being knocked out cold, "NO, REVA!" She thrusted her blade into the gap of the giant's armor. He groaned out in pain and took his focus off of Sarah, directing it towards Luna instead. The giant swung his blade at her, which she rolled out of the way in time.
Luna dashed towards Reva's unconscious body and placed a gentle hand on her forehead, "Curaga!" She yelled as a green light cascaded Reva. Luna had to be careful not to use powerful spells like Curaga too often, for the sake of preserving her energy.
"Please, Reva, wake up!"

With Luna's distraction Sarah was able to get to the giant's neck and plunged her electrified blade into a gap in his armor.

"Ugh..." Reva groaned every bone in her body aching at once from that hit and while she still found it hard to move she wasn't out cold anyone at least.
-As Serah plunged her blade into the Iron Giant's throat the giant roared out in anger falling to one knee stunned from the attack, it's eyes faded for a moment and cracks in it's armor began to show as the attack clearly did some major damage, however Serah did not consider the consequences of being connected to a fully metal creature hit be electricity and received a highly unpleasant shock of her own.

((The Fog seems to only surround Zepter you can see normally inside, it's constantly overcast however. Magic also functions normally and as for Elementals it would depend where you are.

Prospero soon finds him self being targeted by a short sword wielding Beast Soldier who clumsily starts swinging at him.

"It seems my last attack left a mark on him." Sarah noted as she gestured to the crack she made on him with her head "We should try aiming our attacks there next."

-The Iron Giant finally regained it's balance although clearly damaged to the point it was even slower than before growing at the party it begins to lumber forward preparing to bring down it's massive sword on the two again.
Reva remains slumped against the wall still barely conscious even with the curaga spell.

Sarah finishes enchanting her sword with Fira and rushes towards the giant avoiding the sword strike to get at the flesh beyond the cracked armor.

-Her strike chips off a chunk of armor on it's chest the giant almost groans in pain and the broken armor reveals...nothing but a glowing red orb at the center. Grasping it's damaged armor it backs up a step and stands up tall to try and prevent another melee attack hitting it again.

Prospero matches the clumsy Beast Soldier's attacks blow for blow with his quarterstaff, before knocking his blade out of his hand and whacking the beast across its skull!
"Miranda, darling. You've still got it baby! WHO NEEDS MAGIC?!"

Talyn managed to fend off the foe attacking her and caught him off-guard, giving her an opening to stab him in the chest. "That was close...," she said, pulling the arrow out of her arm. She quickly ripped a piece of fabric off her shirt and made a makeshift sling to rest her arm in before heading to take on another foe, fighting only at half ability though. "A little help would be appreciated, guys! I'm feeling rather disarmed at the moment!"

"Hang in there, Talyn!" Kathy immediately rushing to assist Talyn ignoring an axe wielding beast soldier, who was currently frozen with a Frost spell, but then suddenly thaw itself out, only to be flustered by Kaitlyn's actions.
"Just stay near me. I might be able to use my mana shield to protect us both." as she approached Talyn with her guard up, the one axe wielding beast soldier came charging in about to hack at her.
Kaitlyn about to counter slash it only for a sudden stray arrow piercing it's cranium, before tumbling at Kaitlyn's feet.
"Wait... w-what just happened?" Kaitlyn wondered as she tries to seek out the beast archer, although in her mind she doubts that the arrow may have been shot by mistake. Yet again she feels that someone else might have fired it off.
"Here take this." Kaitlyn quickly handing over a potion to Talyn, before knocking back another beast soldier, "It's not much, but it'll have to do." as the beast soldier tries to gain it balance, Kaitlyn immediately impales it with her saber, before it slumps to the ground.
"We need to stop their archers some how." Kaitlyn suggests to Talyn, "We need to keep moving so that we might throw off their aim."

"Hey, you okay over there?!"

"Ah thanks!" Talyn said quickly as she unbottled the potion and drank it. Instantly, her arm began to feel better and she removed it from the sling. "Who's ready for round 2?!?" she asked loudly as she ran over to a large beast soldier.

The few remaining beast soldiers begin to group together realizing most of their numbers have been spent and finally stop fighting amongst themselves to charge the group.

"TIGER BLADE!!" Talyn screamed as she slashed upwards into the air, launching a nearby foe with it and then leaping up and slashing downward, slamming the same beast soldier into the ground with a surprising amount of force.

"That's a weak spot if I've ever seen one!" Luna observed, "His chest is too high up to attack with a sword strike... Time for an alternative."
Luna went close to the giant and tossed her sword above her. She attentively watched the blade flip in the air, waiting for the right moment.
"Aero!" A strong gust a wind smacked into the hilt of the sword, propelling it towards the giant's red orb. Soaring through the air at high speeds, the blade impaled the orb.

-As the core was pierced the giant let out a roar rearing back light spilled from it's body and then suddenly exploded outward knocking Luna and Serah off their feet, Reva covered her eyes to avoid being blinded by the light; when her hand lowered she saw the Iron Giant stand motionless no light from it's eyes or core then it's armor breaking apart and turning to dust now that magic supporting it had been destroyed.
((Party B can likely clean up pretty fast if anyone else wants to get a few more posts in before combat ends?))

Sarah slowly sat up and observed the result of their struggle.
"It.....It's over." Sarah sighed.

Prospero looks at Freyr while fighting off another Beast Soldier
"Hey, you okay over there?!"
"These pose little threat..." Freyr responds as he deftly dodges the attack of the Zweihander beast. "Not even worth anything special."
With this, he stabs the beast as it attempts to recover from its attack.

"Indeed..." Luna walked over to the giant, who was now just a huge pile of dust. Her meteor sword stood at the top of the pile.
She grabbed the sword and went to Reva's side, "How are you feeling?"

Prospero joined with Freyr in battle and knocked around some more Beast Soldiers with Miranda! "Aye. We'll be done with this lot in mere moments. HAVE AT THEE!"

As Luna tended to Reva, Sarah listened closely to the noises above ground, it sounded like metal clashing with each other.
"I think the others must have ran into trouble as well." Sarah frowned.

"M-My leg." Reva frowns rubbing her right leg "But at least it's dead...or broke."
-Up above the group manages to clean up the last few of the beast soldiers with the surviving ones retreating deep into the fortress. Although it's hard to see if there are more lurking within.

"I think the fighting is over now, let's go up and see if we can get out of here." Sarah said when the sound of fighting stopped.

"The opening above the seats might be the best way out...I don't think we want to go where that Iron Giant came from." Reva with Luna's assistance manages to stand although she'll need help moving for a bit.

"Definitely, especially since the others are out there. If Prospero is still healthy he can blast it open." Sarah nodded.

"Sorry I wasn't much use..." Reva sighs placing her blade back in it's scabbard

Luna, still assisting Reva with walking, looked up at the grating, "Yeah, we're okay. We just need a way out."
She thought for a moment while examining the metal grating, "Actually, I have an idea."
Luna gently placed Reva on one of the seats, then walked underneath the grating, "You may want to stand back for this," she said as she looked up.
"Blizzara!" A huge ice blast shot from her hand and collided with the metal grating, freezing most of it, "Now, if one of you up there hits that grating with your sword or some hard object, the metal should shatter, opening a path between us."

Prospero unleashed a powerful thrust with Miranda and shattered the grating.
"All clear!" he yelled from up above!

Sarah immediately climbed up and hugged Prospero really tight. She was trembling a bit as well.
"Thank goodness we're alive!" Sarah cried in a terrified voice.
(Ah PTSD, good thing Sarah had no idea what an arena or prison actually are or she would be more freaked out.)

Prospero hugged her back. "There there, young one. It's alright. You're safe now!"

Sarah took a while to cry into his shirt trying to calm down, for some reason even though she didn't know where she was she felt scared but the adrenaline of the fight made her not able to address those feelings until now. She briefly wondered if her parents endured similar if not worse horrors or if they were even alive.

Luna assisted Reva in climbing up to safety, and finally, Luna climbed up.
"Thank you, Prospero," She smiled.
Luna took notice of Sarah crying and placed a hand on her shoulder, "What's wrong?"

"I-I don't know myself." Sarah said in a muffled voice "But that place, whatever it was, was just terrifying. Everything about it was terrifying, the room with the metal poles sticking out of the ground, that hallway with no sunlight, and the place with seats and the smell of blood everywhere. I just felt this sort of dread the longer I was there."

"Zepter was an empire and they had slaves, I'm sure that arena saw it's share of blood." Reva sighs as she nurses her injured leg.

"W-what are slaves?" Sarah asked meekly, she had a feeling she didn't want to know, but she knew she had to.

"Slaves are... people who are forced into manual labor. Some civilizations used slaves as their own property, using them however they wished. Slaves couldn't leave or protest against their ownership; they were treated like animals, all for their owner's personal gain," Luna sighed.

"I-I see...." Sarah said trying to take it in.

"The king conquered many lands in his life but he grew melancholy in his old age and sought a power to extend his life and empire, he invaded the kingdom of the dark ones and stole their power, a crown that granted it's wearer power of primal magic and beasts. But soon after his land fell into chaos as a deep fog engulfed the land. Well that's the legend anyway." Reva leans forward a little as she finishes.

"Fascinating tale, Reva." Prospero said. "How did you learn of these legends?"

"So he sought to make people suffer for as long as possible....." Sarah stated still clinging to Prospero.

Sarah felt a little disturbed by Reva's words, she really had no idea how someone could be drawn to such a horrible place out of curiousity.

"Once we escape we should head to the temple, I can use my emblem to open it then we can decide our next destination."

"Before we do I think we need some rest." Sarah stated as she let go of Prospero with her eyes still red. "Considering your leg is still not healed and I'm still reeling a little from electrocuting myself."

"Absolutely!" Prospero stated. "Come, fellow adventures. Let us make camp!"

She looked towards Sarah, "Are you sure you'll be alright?"

"I...I think I will." Sarah nodded "I just need to take my mind off it for a bit."

In the meantime, she decided it would be best to gather firewood.

Freyr merely looks at the proceedings in silence. It'll only get worse from here on out... I hope she can handle it, Freyr thought to himself as he went off to find some food.

Sarah was sitting next to Prospero trying to meditate while Yin was resting closeby wearing her unarmored attire. Try as she might she couldn't clear her mind and concentrate when her mind was a torrent of fear, distress, and unanswered questions.
Deciding that she couldn't successfully meditate she sighed and looked over to her senior and marveled at how concentrated he was.
"It's amazing how he can be so calm and concentrated despite his strageness, supposed insanity, and lecherous nature. I still can't believe how serious he is when it comes to the arcane arts." Sarah thought to herself "To go this far for magic, to journey to a place that no one has ever returned from is something I don't quite understand. I can understand Luna's reasons for being here since her's was similar to my parents on a larger scale, but Prospero's and Reva's reasons are something I can't help but be confused about."
After a while, and perhaps against her better judgement she decided that if she couldn't meditate she would at least try to expand the vast knowledge she desrately needed.
"Mr. Prospero?" Sarah asked hesitantly not sure if he could hear her "I'm very sorry to disturb you but may I ask you something?"

"What troubles your mind, young one?" Prospero answered, knowing she was clearly upset by something.

"I guess many things really." Sarah sighed "I can handled the fear that I had back there, I had many near death situations while training and I've stayed the night in many a dark cave where adventurers met their ends. But there's just so many things I don't understand or trouble me, like why do people need slaves, and why was that 'arena' place a place of entertainment to watch people slaughter each other be slaughtered. How could a man like the King of Zepter be so evil and greedy that he would want eternal life to expand this 'empire'?
Then I keep thinking about my parents, could they possibly be alive or am I truely just deluding myself, if they are alive what horrors have they faced and where could they be?
But I suppose what really bothers me is why would someone like you or Reva risk your life on something like this? Why journey to a place that no one has returned from for something as far fetched as lost magic that may be to dangerous for man to learn or just proving that the legends are true? There's just so many things I don't understand."

"I do not have all the answers. You will find that explanations are not easy to come by in the realm, Sarah!" Prospero stated while walking over to her. "For some, the knowledge is the journey. For others, the journey is simply that. A journey. A journey of discovery, whatever or wherever that may lead. If one is not willing to risk it all for whatever they believe in, then there's no point in doing it."

"I see...." Sarah said not quite sure she understood what Prospero was saying "So this is just another journey for you?"

"For me, yes. When you have as much time as I do, the journey is the most important part of living." Prospero said.

"But what about your home? I know your mother has long since passed, but surely you must have a place with people worry and care about you don't you?" Sarah questioned him.

"Not really, no. I'm not really good at attachments. I've made friends here and there along the way, but it's not easy making attachments when you know you're going to live longer than most people you come in contact with!" Prospero answered.

"Live longer? What ever do you mean, are you not human?" Sarah asked him.

"I am human, no worries!" Prospero stated. "However, my mother blessed me with both eternal life & eternal youth right before she died!"

Sarah's eyes widened at what he just said as she was in shock yet again. It amazed her that his mother knew such powerful, and likely forbidden magic. This was exactly what the King of Zepter desired so much above else and Prospero just so happened to inadvertently obtained it. Thouh unlike the King, Prospero at least wasn't a greedy warlord, which gave her some relief.
"Is that so?" Sarah said not trying to hide her astonishment "If you don't mind me asking, how old are you right now?"

"Hahahaha, I've kinda lost count really!" Prospero amusing said. "When one is immortal, you tend to lose track of these things. If I were to guess, I'd say somewhere between 200-300 years old."

"My master said the same thing, he said he was somewhere between 500-1000 himself though." Sarah stated "Now I'm starting to understand why you never mentioned your father or something like that. Though if you don't mind me asking....have you ever regretted that you have this gift?"

"Sometimes, yeah." Prospero stated. "Mother was always over-protective. Otherwise though, it's not that bad at all!"

"Somehow that was the answer I expected, of course my master said the same as well." Sarah stated "It's why he lived a hermit's life. Though now I feel a little more confused than I was before."

"Hahahaha, your master's mother was overprotective as well?!" Prospero quipped.

"I believe so due to his strange mixed heritage." Sarah nodded "But that wasn't the point I was making, he was a recluse because of his lifespan and mixed heritage."

"You certainly are not, which admittedly I am surprised about and glad about." Sarah replied.

Some time passes and Reva's leg begins to heal thanks to the cure spells, the group begin to search for a way to escape the fortress. A door leads up into a guard tower and the party is able to activate the mechanism to raise the gate, thankfully they suffer no further attacks from the beast men and manage to escape into Zepter proper.
The trip down the main road is uneventful, however it's eerily quiet with no sign of anyone not even wildlife or roaming monsters, and while the fog seemed to only be a barrier between Zepter's borders it continues to block out the sun. After two days of walking the party notice a massive temple appear on the horizon Reva assures them that this is the temple she mentioned before they arrived. Soon the group stand before it's massive gates however unlike before there seems to be no way to raise the gates.
"This is the place." Reva runs her hand along the engraving on the giant stone doors depicting Bahamut the dragon god she begins to stare at the door almost as if lost in thought.

"Never before have I seen a door this huge." Sarah said in wonder as she pet Yin "I admit I don't know too much about this Bahamut other than being king of the dragons and haveing powerful magic itself."

Freyr looked up at the giant doors. He recognizes the emblem, but chooses not to make any mention of it.
"How shall we be getting in?" he asked, looking around.

"Meh. I've seen bigger!" Prospero quipped!

Sarah silently prayed he meant doors.

Reva continues to stare deeply at the dragon engraving seemingly oblivious to the party's conversation.

((Party was split into two, one half fought an Iron Giant the others a legion of beast men. The Iron Giant was destroyed and the beastmen retreated. After meeting up and resting the group managed to open the gate and pass into Zepter. After a few days of travel they now stand before the shut gates of the Temple of Bahamut Reva mentioned and Reva is acting rather oddly.))

"Ms. Reva, do you know how to get inside?" Sarah asked beginning to grow concerned about her silence.

Reva shakes her head as if being woken from a daydream "H-huh? Oh s-sorry not sure what I was doing there, ye-yes." Reva reaches into her small leather bag tied around her hip and produces the amulet she showed back at the camp sight.
With a serious look on her face she raises her right hand into the air and begins chanting.
"Great Bahamut I have returned to fulfill the ancient pact made more than a lifetime ago allow us entry so that we may heal this poisoned land!" The amulet glows brightly and with a thunderous boom the doors slowly begin to slide open revealing the dark interior perhaps not seen by mortal eyes for centuries.
Without even looking back to the others Reva steps beyond the door way as the stone gates finish opening, the massive torches lining the walls suddenly burst into flame illuminating the hall before the group. Ancient runes and symbols line them likely beyond the understanding of the party.
"Come we have been invited in it would be rude to keep "him" waiting." Reva's voice is oddly cold lacking the excitement for adventure the others typically would expect.

"You mean to say....Bahamut is actually here?" Sarah asked concerned about Reva's strange behavior

Prospero looks around as he walks with his party. Hmmmm, powerful magics are at work here. Ancient as well. I hope Reva knows what she is doing... he thinks to himself.

"Yes...and no." Reva responds cryptically.
((This knowledge does kinda contradict her story of only coming her for adventure I'm sure Serah would pick up on this.))

"Reva....who are you?" Sarah asked.
(She did.)

"I'm Reva." She responds dodging the question completely.

"I'm sure you are." Sarah said not very amused. "But you seem to know more about Zepter than a 'curious adventurer' would."

"Obviously Reva has some links to this forgotten land, but whatever they are I'm sure she'll let us know in time," Talyn said suddenly, after being oddly silent since the beastman battle. "Plus, apparently someone is expecting us, and I get the feeling we shouldn't keep them waiting..."

Reva pauses for a moment before turning toward the group completely
"Yes---I have not been completely honest with you all, I fabricated the tale of my father I told you; I never had a father at least one I can remember." Reva pauses to see how the others react.

"Then I ask again, who are you?" Sarah repeated as she felt a little unsure where Reva was going with this.
-
"I don't know...I really don't, all I have is a gut feeling that this temple is important and it's vital we meet what ever lives within. As for why I have this amulet and why I can read the runes here I can't answer that. If you don't trust me Serah I won't begrudge you or anyone else who wishes to try and turn back."

"Turn back? Why would we do that? We all knew the risks of going into the fog and I don't think you having secrets is enough of a reason to just turn back. We all have secrets, it happens, don't worry about it," Talyn replied.

Sarah breathed deeply trying to take it what Reva said.
"Very well, I trust you." Sarah said calmly "After all I don't believe this is something that you can do alone, and you know I can't turn back until I find out what happened to my parents regardless."

"Thank you both, does--anyone else have any issue with proceeding?" Reva smiles her expression softening in relief.

"We all have secrets about our past, Reva dear!" Prospero said. "I think I speak for all of us when I say that we're with you!"

"Aye, after fighting by your side and witnessing your courage, I know we can count on you!" Luna smiled.

"Let us proceed," Freyr responds blandly.

Reva bows slightly "I am grateful to have such allies."
The Party pushes on, as large as the temple seemed from the outside it did not betray the sheer scale of it's interior; they travel for a good mile before emerging into what seems like the main hall. The large hall was split into two main areas, a large table sits at the center of the main area; with a large fire place not far from the head table. Various seats and couches also litter the surrounding areas giving the party the hint that it was used for entertaining guests of the Dragon King.
The Second area further up seemed of great importance with several large stones in a circle pattern around a central area. It was currently too far to see from where they stood. Finally several doors one on each side of the room also seemed to head off in different directions.
"Greetings, it has been a long time since I've entertained guests in these Hallowed halls."
A voice booms from the upper area, a man dressed in a blue robe decorated with gold engravings not unlike a white mage's robe stands and bows respectfully to the group, with his hood up it's impossible to tell what he looks like however.

Freyr decides to remain silent, however he bows in return to the hooded figure.

"Um who are you?" Sarah asked who felt very nervous for some reason. She felt she needed more information on who this strange man was before asking if he ever saw her parents.
-
"My name? I am called Arius I am...or was the head priest of this temple, but alas since the fall only I remain to honor Bahamut's name." His voice sounds regretful but he soon motions to the table that was once empty but is suddenly filled with generous portions of all sorts of foot and beverage.
"I can imagine you have all traveled far and faced adversity, you are all welcome to rest here."

"I thank you for your generosity." Sarah bowed "However Mr. Arius may I ask a question?"

"Of course." He responds as he makes his way down the stairs to talk with the party more directly, even withing arms distance it's impossible to see his face within the hood.

Sarah produced a bronze amulet from her belongings and opened it showing the picture of 2 people.
One was a man with short dirty blond hair and blue eyes and a woman with dark brown hair and hazel eyes.
"I am Sarah Lecart, I have come to this cursed land to learn the fate of my parents or if they are even alive." Sarah said in a serious tone "Is there any chance you have seen them before?"

Arius ponders "Lecart? Lecart...Lecart Aha! Yes it was a long time ago my dear but their faces are known to me, I allowed them respite when I sensed their presence near this temple. They expressed an interest in the Sorcerer's Spire, a tower dedicated to magical study in Zepter. Unfortunately after using the Arch Stone up there to reach the tower I never saw them again, I cannot say if they still live." Arius motions to the upper area with the stones.
"If you desire to follow them use the Arch stone, those stones connect this place with the rest of Zepter, however I recommend you all spend the night the door on the right connects to the sleeping quarters and the one on the left has everything you need for enchanting, potion brewing and maintenance of your gear."

"That's a bit strange, I thought they merely wanted to get some treasure so they could get a house so I wouldn't live in the streets like they have." Sarah pondered "Though maybe they felt they weren't strong enough to handle the horrors here, my master did mention my mother had some magic in her. Either way I do agree some rest is in order before I see this tower."

"Eat and drink as much as you want adventurers, think of this temple as your safe haven in this dangerous land and please feel free to ask me anything I am here to serve." Arius glances at Reva with a curious tilt to his head.

"Ah a base of operations. Awesome," Talyn commented. "Now where might the beds be found? And the food?"

Sarah facepalmed and pointed in the direction of the table behind them that had mountains of food on it that Arius made magically appear.
Sarah had a feeling that Talyn's next lesson should involve improving observation skills, or lengthing one's attention span.
(I know it's been awhile, but I find this situation hilarious.)

"That food wasn't there a minute ago, was it? I mean I can't be that blind..." Talyn pondered aloud before politely digging in.
(I didn't mean for it to be hilarious but this works out quite well! A little comedy is always good >0<)

Sarah sighed as she took a seat at the table trying to decide what to eat, though much of the food was very unfamiliar to her.
(You know I don't think Sarah has even had bread before.)

"Ooh there's even some chicken cordon bleu with a side of broccoli au gratin, amazing," Talyn commented as she feasted.

Luna pulled out a seat and sat at the table. She grabbed a plate of food, closed her eyes and started to pray to herself right before digging in; which she did with a surprising amount of gusto, contrary to her proper lady-like demeanor.
*bruuuuuurp* Luna unintentionally let out a long belch and covered her mouth, "Oh gracious me! Please forgive me for that!" She turned a little red.

Sarah continued to look at the food still having to trouble deciding until she finally set her head on the table.
"There's too much food." Sarah mumbled "I don't know where to start."

"Start with a single bite, then another and another until you've eaten your fill!" Talyn replied. "Also no use mumbling around me, I'm half-elf. We tend to have exceptional hearing, ya know. Well at least full elves do, mine isn't as good as theirs but it's still pretty good," she added between bites of food.

"Just try not to eat too much." Kailyn adds before taking a bite on what appears to be a purple apple, only to be hit by it's sudden bitter.
"Ugh... if only this Magick Fruit wasn't so bitter unlike Power Fruit." she complained, yet continues to consume the bitter fruit, "At least I don't have eat another after gaining it knowledge."
"I just wonder what Karn's up to." she tries to perish the thought of him claiming the crown already.
(I'm going to have Kaitlyn learn Magic Fruit, from just eating a fruit with the same name.)

"Pfft too much? There's no such thing as too much for me!" Talyn boasted as she continued to eat. It was rather surprising that despite the large quantity of food she had already consumed, she had yet to slow down or show any physical signs to indicate just how much she had eaten.

"Oh, stop it." she jokes nervously with a smile at Talyn "You're starting to remind me of someone I use to call master once."
Taking into account that her mentor had a similar voracious appetite like Talyn.

"Hey, it takes a lot of energy to be as perceptive as I am during battle. I really need to use some of that perception outside of battle too... Like how I didn't even notice this massive mountain of myriad munchies!" Talyn explained in response before taking a large drumstick for herself and started to lather it in ranch dressing before cutting it delicately with her blades.

Luna watched speechlessly as Talyn vigorously scoffed down her food, and finally spoke up, "Where did you learn to eat like that, if you don't mind me asking? Is it a family trait?"

"My master who taught me the ways of the sword, actually. The arts I use take a lot of energy, so it's best to store up as much energy as possible in preparation for upcoming battles. And I know we're gonna get in quite a few here," she answered.

Reva joins the others at the table after speaking with Arius alone for a few minutes she is not her normal happy self, although with her background now in question it's hard to tell whats real with her now.
Arius himself remains in the upper area tending to the Arch stones allowing the tired party some privacy.

"It's not the amount of food I have trouble with." Sarah said as she started with a simple apple "It's just too much of it is unfamiliar with me."

"I can see that. So you're in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people (who I'd hope are becoming more familiar as time passes) with a mountain of unfamiliar food piled in front of you. Perhaps it's time you make it so there's not so much unfamiliarity here, eh?" Talyn suggested.

"Maybe....." Sarah said as she stared at the jiggling mass and sponge like objects in front of her.
(I think pudding existed back then, and the other is obviously bread.)

"Is everything alright?" Freyr says as he glances over at Reva. He decided to wait a bit before eating, so he merely sat in silence observing the others.

After looking between the jiggling mass and the sponge like object for who knows how long Sarah decided to pick up the sponge like object and took a bite.
She was surprised at how plain the sponge tasted, but it was a nice sort of plain.

Reva pokes at her meal with a fork a little lost in thought before snapping out of it. "Huh? O-Oh, I really don't want to ruin everyone's spirits." Reva tries to dodge the question.

"It's no use trying to do that Reva." Sarah said as she tried a bit of the jiggling mass, it tasted like figs but it was much sweeter, Sarah wasn't sure she liked that "Trying avoid discussing something that's obviously wrong only makes us worry more. At least that's what my master often tells me."

"If you don't say it now, it'll eat away at you. And that's not something you want happening when there could be a fight at any moment. It's best to be able to focus fully on battle so you don't make any mistakes that might cost you," Talyn told Reva.

"That priest, Arius. He claims to know me, but how can that be? This temple was sealed long before I was born--I'm not sure what to believe now." Reva plays with a grape on her plate before dropping it again.

"I had a feeling it was something like that." Sarah admitted as she decided to have some of the chicken, one of the few foods she was familiar with "He kept looking at you after he told me where my parents went, and admittedly you having that amulet can't be a coincidence. All you can do now is keep looking for clues."

"He obviously knows far more than he's letting on, that's for sure," Talyn commented. "Just because no one has been able to see into this fog since it showed up doesn't mean those within can't see out of it..."

"Do you think we can trust him?" Luna says in a quiet voice.

"It's not like we have a choice." Sarah shrugged "He's the only link we have to Reva's identity/past and the last location my parents seem to have went."

"Hmm, tis true..." Luna sighed, "Though, it may be best if we don't become too comfortable here. Something seems... off."
She then glanced at Freyr, "Sir Knight, may I ask why you insist on a helmet veiling your face? You are among allies."

"I've had to be on guard for a very long time... I've merely grown accustomed to having it on, I suppose," Freyr says with a slight shrug.

"I can understand that considering you sleep in it." Sarah noted as she drunk some water.

"I'm more amazed that you're able to eat with it on. That takes some... I don't know what that takes but it's amazing," Talyn commented after another large helping of food. Somehow, despite the multiple pounds of food she had eaten by now she showed no signs of slowing down nor of gaining weight.

"It's not that difficult," Freyr says as he pulls out a gourd of water and drinks from it.

"Only because you're used to it, as you said." Sarah nodded as she tried more of the sponge object.

"Hah, indeed!" Freyr says with a chuckle. He glances back over to Reva, who is back to being lost in thought. He decides to not push the matter any further.

Reva nods to the others agreeing with them. "I suppose all we can do is use those arch stones to travel around, each one warps to a different location; that's what Arius said right?"

"I believe that's how it works yes." Sarah said as she tried some of the red liquid in front of her. She immediately retched and coughed "Yuck, what is this vile beverage, it's worse than the Ale!"
(Because there has to be wine.)

"Not a fan of wine?" Reva smiles a little.

"It appears so." Sarah gagged.

"Here, try the cider." Reya lightly pushes a bottle toward serah.

Sarah looked at the cider warily before she poured a little bit and tasted it.
"It.....doesn't seem to assault my sense of taste like the others." Sarah concluded.
(I'll assume it's non alcoholic cider.)

"I rather like Cider myself, you might want to avoid the alcoholic ones though."

"Indeed, I don't want to end up like Prospero." Sarah nodded.

"Alcohol isn't for everyone." Reva giggles.

"Indeed, in addition I want to make sure I'm in top condition for what's ahead." Sarah nodded.

"Have you decided to travel through the Arch Stones then?" Reva leans on her elbow.

"Of course I have, I must figure out what happend to my parents." Sarah nodded.

"Arius mentioned the Sorcerer's Spire, I'll go with you perhaps I'll learn something there to. I'm sure the others will want to help find your parents right?"

"Indeed," Luna nodded.

"I don't mind tagging along... I might get some clues to what I'm looking for," Freyr chimed in quietly.

"What are you looking for Sir Freyr?" Sarah asked him.
-
"I'll accompany you as well. Who knows, maybe what I seek is within that place. Or maybe a clue to it," Talyn said.

"Aye, I'm with you as well!" Prospero stated. "What kind of mentor would I be if I didn't go? HAHAHAH!"

"I thank you all." Sarah said as she looked around the table to see if there was something else she could try.

"You have my support, Sarah." Kaitlyn raised her hand, "There is still much knowledge to gain, before this trip is over."

"I too need some knowledge as well." Sarah sighed. "There's just so much I don't know about the world."

"NO!! I SAY WEEZ STAY AND ESPLORE THE CAMP SIGHT MOAR!" Prospero drunkenly says to a column as he passes out.

"Good Lord, the poor man is drunk!" Luna went over to Prospero and snagged the alcoholic beverage from his hand, "You've had quite enough. We can't afford to have anyone impaired and unfocused during our ventures."

"Ugh he really needs to stop doing that." Sarah sighed as she went over to his unconscious body and picked him up "Immortal or not this can't be good for him, especially if he's impaired tomorrow."

"Whew... I'm stuffed... I think I've had my fill of this tasty food... Wake me up before... we... go..." Talyn mumbled as she passed out in the chair she was sitting in. Amazingly enough, she had made quite a large dent in the pile of food that was in front of her.

"Can someone take care of Talyn, I have my hands full here." Sarah sighed as she started to take Prospero to his room.

Suddenly Talyn perked up. "I'm okay! Don't worry I can make it to my bed!" she said suddenly as she stumbled towards where she was gonna sleep before promptly falling flat on her face, out for the count.

Luna sighed, "Don't worry, I'll help her."
She gently shook Talyn awake and helped her up, leading her to bed.

"I think it would be advisable to put Talyn on a diet, lest she go into hibernation like the local bears back in the forest." Sarah sighed and continued to help Prospero.

From afar, Arius observed the shenanigans of Talyn and Prospero, "
These niggas..."
"Not again..." He sighed, most likely recalling a time where other guests of his acted in the same manner.

The group manage to one way or another make their way to the sleeping area off to the side, luckily (maybe) split into rooms for both genders. The beds are quite comfortable and it seems Airus' magic has kept the temple in good repair.
The next morning the group find themselves after a healthy breakfast standing at the center of the arch stones. Arius raises his hand to get the party's attention
"My friends, these are the Archstones; in ancient times they connected this temple to Zepter and the outside world and the reverse was true as well. If you touch one you will travel to that place...
The Sages' Spire, Dragon's Peak, The Ancient City, and the Sunken Bastille. If you wish to find the crown and reach the golden city you must travel to these locations, I hope you will succeed in this endevour, for as long as this fog continues to exists our world faces a slow but steady extinction."

"Do you know what we should expect in this Sage's Spire?" Sarah asked him.

"When the chaos hit the mages that studied there lost their minds...and I feel their dark experiments may have given rise to terrible beasts. A shame really, that tower was the birthplace of the magic age of humanity. I understand the high sage was close to unlocking the ultimate black magic." Arius chuckles.
((Wonder if anyone will catch on to the identity of the High Sage. =D))

"I see, so it seems we have to deal with powerful beasts." Sarah nodded,

Ultimate black magic huh... Freyr pondered as he listened to the description of the spire.
"It may be a good place to start, considering the magic users we have here," Freyr says as he looks around at the others. "I would assume that the mages of the time had their quarters stationed there as well?"

"I hope I can find my parents there." Sarah sighed.

"I'm sure you will Serah." Arius turns to Reva "You will find your answers if you seek the crown, seek adversity."

"So, we're all in agreement then? The Sage's Spire is where we shall go next!" Luna stated.

"Yep, finally our first quest within Zepter. Should be fun, eh?" Talyn said cheerily, no sign of the massive amounts of food she had consumed the night before altering her physique. "So what are we waiting for, eh?" she added with a laugh.

Sarah sighed at Talyn's eagerness at going to a dangerous place. Though the girl's skill is undisputed she had a feeling her undisciplined mind and blodd lust is going to cost her dearly one day.

The Group finish their preparations and on the instruction of Arius each touch the Archstone; space and time seem to warp as they are in an instant standing outside next to a new archstone. Reva scans the area before turning around and gasping as a giant spire looms over them all, it's the middle of the day and the sky above is pitch black and clouded over; eerie yellow lights shine through the various windows hinting that it's not abandoned.
"So I guess this is the sorcerer's spire?" Reva frowns placing a hand on the pommel of her silver sword.

"Never before have I seen a structure this enormous." Sarah gulped.

"Wow, this looks even taller than the pharos at Regiratina, that I know of." Kaitlyn looking amazed, as the spire stretched for miles above the clouds.
(Just making up an alias for Pharos at Ridorana, by using a Pokefusion. 8D)

"Aye, these are indeed quite massive. I'm sure all manner of beasties inhabit the halls now, so it would probably be best if we stay on our toes! Who knows what we'll see once we enter!" Talyn said.

"Indeed," Luna unsheathed her meteor sword, "Well, let's not delay. Onward into the unknown."

Freyr looked around the area silently, taking note of any possible landmarks just in case.

It's the lack of landmarks that seems to get Freyr's attention more than anything, outside the Archstone and the tower there is literally nothing for miles the ground around the tower's base having seemingly collapsed along time ago into a black abyss. Perhaps a last ditch effort by the mages to keeping the chaos out...or something inside.

Nothing to keep focus on while we're in there... that's not good, Freyr thought to himself as he looked around. I'll be sure to try to keep my bearings.
"Well, shall we?" Freyr asks as he starts to walk up to the spire.

Sarah nodded and started to follow Freyr up worried about what they may encounter and the fate of her parents.

As the group neared the entrance of the Spire, bizarre moaning noises could be heard from inside, echoeing through a small opening in the doors.
"Do you hear that? I don't like the sound of this. On your toes everyone," Luna opened the huge doors, which required quite a bit of strength to pull open. With a long creaking sound from opening the doors, they entered inside.

Inside the tower, a man sat slumped over in a cell, his arms chained to the wall. He wore a heavy, dusty-brown cloak with a collar that covered the lower half of his face, and a wide-brimmed, faded blue hat. Under his cloak he wore a white tunic, faded blue trousers, and brown leather boots and gauntles.

As the group approached the gate the sounds of the tower quickly killed any notion it was empty or abandoned after all these years, almost as if reacting to their presence the massive gate began to slowly raise eventually granting them access; the party wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not but they had to press on either way.
Stepping into the tower revealed a massive hall, likely used to house gatherings of mages and other guests, numerous doors led off in various directions but two stood out as the party explored the hall, one sturdy iron door locked by some sort of key the limited view through the bars hinted that it headed upstairs. Try as they might the door would not budge.
The second door was open and the signs of dust being pushes along the floor hinted that it was opened recently. The path beyond headed down and further moans seemed to be coming from this underground.
"The king sure loves his colossal structures doesn't he?" Reva glanced back to the others as she lowers her blade convinced there was no threats in the hall. "Wait...I hear that noise to." She approaches the opened door and glances into the dark stair well beyond.

"I don't like that sound." Sarah shuddered as she kept a grip on her saber.

"Could Karn have been here already?" Kaitlyn quietly thought to herself while trying to keep her composure intact.
"If so wouldn't we've spotted his airship by now? But then, how would it've been possible for him to have gotten pass Arius?" still lost in thought as she's unaware of someone watching her in the shadows.
(Still wondering how to get Karn and the "rogued figure", that helped in the last battle, back into the story. Note that the italics is used indicate Kaitlyn is quietly thinking to herself.)

Luna took a deep breath and tightened her grip on her sword, "Ready to go."

The stairs descending feel like they go on forever, theres only enough room to walk in single file and Reva decides to take up the lead keeping her shield up as they spiral downward further and further.
As they reach the bottom the path opens a little but feels no less claustrophobic, rusted iron gates are placed along the sides but with the poor lighting it's hard to tell whats inside, the inhuman moaning echos through the hall but is likely further in.
Reva frowns "A jail, why would a tower like this have cells?"

"Not the bars again." Sarah shuddered.

"Looks like these mages were doing things they didn't want people to know about, Zepter's golden age huh."

Freyr clutched the sheath of his sword as he listened. "Golden age indeed..." he said as he walked up to the closest cell. He peered inside curiously, and notices a shadowy figure in the corner.
"Hey... I think there's someone in here," Freyr said as he leans closer to the bars.

Luna peers inside, as well, "Yes, I think you're right! Hello? Can you hear us?" She said to the figure in a somewhat low voice, as to not disturb what else may be lurking in these cells.

"I wonder how long he's been here... and if he knows anything about the relic I'm looking for..." Talyn mumbled under her breath, thinking aloud.

At the sounds of voices, the man initially didn't respond, figuring it would just be more people to get locked up. How long had he been trapped in there anyway? It felt like forever ago that he came to this place looking for treasure himself. His attention was caught when somebody addressed him directly. Raising his head a little, he opened his eyes to see the group of adventurers, only his eyes were visible due to the rest of his face being covered.
"Yeah, I can hear you just fine." He said, slowly getting up and walking towards the bars. He easily stood a little over six feet tall, even slightly hunched over. "I could hear you lot coming down the stairs, and I'm probably not the only one." His movement toward the bars stopped with him standing in the middle of the cell, the chains keeping him bound to the wall reaching their limit.

Reva examines the lock, it's rusted and not well maintained; shoving the side of her shield into the gap between the lock and the door the weakened metal easily breaks allowing the door to open.
"I'll have a look for a key to those chains." Reva heads off down the hall.

"I'll tag along, just in case," Freyr says as he follows Reva.

"Do we honestly need a key, can't we just freeze and shatter it off?" Sarah asked.

"It would be simple for me to do that." Kaitlyn answers, wondering why her Frost spell's not working on the lock as she tried freezing it. "But this lock appears to be immune to magicks."

"I suppose this isn't the epic center of Magic in Zepter for nothing." Sarah sighed.

The man sighed, probably smiling under his cloak when the door of the cell was opened. "I appreciate that you're trying to free me." He said, nodding. "My name is Kellan, and I'll tell you my story once we're out of here..." He introduced, his attention turning to the mage that tried to freeze the shackles off his wrists, thankful that he still had his gauntlets on. "Unfortunately, I think you need a key to open that... It will probably be with my weapons."

Sarah seemed to pity the man, he sounded quite weary from being stuck in that cell for who knows how long. She did not understand the concept of jails or shackles, and she felt frightened that people would actually do such atrocities to one another.
Another thought came to her head, one that frightened her but she couldn't deny the possibility.
"Sir Kellan, I'm not sure if you have been trapped here for at least 15 years, but have you seen these people before?" Sarah asked cautiously as she showed him her amulet with the picture of her parents.

Kellan blinked when he was addressed as 'Sir Kellan'. "Now that's something I haven't been caaled in a long time..." He muttered, looking at the picture. "I've seen many people come, and a few go... I don't know how long I've been down here, but I do recall seeing them leave."

"Leave on their own accord or......." Sarah trailed off though she was shocked that he has been there for at least 15 years.

Reva heads down the hall with Freyr slightly behind, not to far down she notices a small room off to the side. Poorly lit but clearly a room for the jail keeper, she takes a step inside and glances around; a thick layer of dust covers everything.
"Thats odd...looks like no one has been down here in a long time." Reva approaches the chest next to the bed and dusts the top off coughing as a dust cloud rises up. Opening it she finds the contents inside seem much newer, likely Kellan's gear." "Hey Freyr something doesn't seem right, our new friend's stuck down here yet theres no sign anyone's used this room for years?"

"Something does seem to be amiss... that said, he's still our only source of information for the time being," Freyr responded as he looked around the room. "Is it just me, or is there an unnatural air about us?"

"You mean that uneasy feeling you get when you think something is lurking behind you?" Reva begins grabbing all the gear.

"Somewhat like that... yet somehow worse," Freyr says as he looks behind him. "Reminds me of my time in the Yuguewood; quite unpleasant."

Kellan looked at the amulet again before staring past Sarah, as if focusing on trying to visualize what he saw. "... Yes... I believe they did..." He blinked. "... Something's coming soon..."

"You mean something is approaching us?" Luna asked.

Reva gathers up the last of the equipment and shuts the chest lid "You'll have to tell me about it some da----"
Reva feels a sharp jolt as if a shiver went up her spine, she glances back toward the door looking a little unnerved by something.

Sarah was troubled about her parents supposably not helping this man, but something seemed....off about him and what he said.
"I'm not surprised that something like this would happen." Sarah said as she unsheathed her Saber.

"I should go check on Reva and Freyr," Luna headed down the hall and soon spotted them in the room.
"Did you two find the key?"

Sarah put away her amulet in her sack and stood closer to Kellan to make sure whatever comes doesn't attack the defenseless prisoner.

Kellan closed his eyes, thinking. "I don't remember what lurks here, only that it doesn't disturb the dust..." He said, cringing a little as he tried to remember. "All I remember is it got me from behind and I woke up in this cell. Sorry I can't be more useful right now..."

"How can a creature not disturb dust?" Sarah questioned quietly.

"Yes...we should all get back to the others, something--is coming!"
Reva with the gear slung over her shoulder turns back into the hall to rejoin the others only to feel that unnerving presence again. Reva turns slowly to see a floating creature staring right at her, it's upper face is barely human looking while tendril like things take up the space where it's mouth should be. The only thing the creature is holding is a lantern giving off a ghostly glow.
Reva's eyes widen in surprise at the monster staring her down, she begins to reach for her blade as the creature raises it's lantern magic drawing into then exploding outward sending her flying back rolling down the hall about half way down to the others. "Nggh!"
((If either Freyr or Luna are still close to the door way they'll be knocked back too. The creature is kinda a Mind Flayer like creature.))

Freyr picks himself off the ground and unsheathes his weapon.
"I knew something didn't feel right," he says as he readies himself for battle. "Reva, Luna... are you two alright?"

Sarah heard the attack and tightened her grip on her Saber.
"It seems Reva and the others encountered that which does not disturb dust." Sarah stated as she began to enchant her blade with a standard Blizzara spell.

Prospero prepared a spell of his own. "Careful, young one. Be alert and cautious!"

Sarah nodded as she finished enchanting her blade with Blizzara.

Freyr picks himself off the ground and unsheathes his weapon.
"I knew something didn't feel right," he says as he readies himself for battle. "Reva, Luna... are you two alright?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine..." Luna said as she stood up and walked to Reva, helping her up.

Kellan gritted his teeth under his cloak. "If only I weren't chained... Maybe with some kind of weapon..." He mumbled. All he could do was wait.

Luna summoned a fireball in her hand and shot it at floating creature, "Fira!"
The creature dodged the spell and an ominous green light started glowing inside the lantern, as if it was getting ready for another attack.

"Sarah, Prospero, you two stay here with Kellan." Kaitlyn adds before unsheathing her saber before her, so that the light given off from the blade can light her path down the hall way, "Our comrades might be in bigger trouble than they're in."
As she encountered the creature about to fire its attack at Luna. She immediately rushed in, readying her Mana Shield as the creature fires a bolt of electricity.
"Luna be careful!" Kaitlyn shouts, as she intercepts the attack. Although it seems her Mana Shield cancelled out the attack, she soon feel her body growing stiff.
"Uurgh... can't... move..." she moans as she struggles to move a muscle.
(Is it okay if I make the attack this mindflayer's using Mind Blast? Since I feel like this is an opportunity for Kaitlyn to learn another spell.)

Reva weighed down by the gear and key glances back "I'm going to free the other guy, keep this creature busy I'll be back to help!" Reva runs back toward the cell and the others before they can comment she pushes past the two and enters the open cell.
"No time to explain!" Reva quickly unlocks the shackles letting Kellan free. "These are yours right?" She drops the gear down at his feet.

"What is that device, I've never seen it before." Sarah asked pointing at the strange object.

Since it's more magic oriented, perhaps this will help, Freyr thinks to himself as he focuses on the monster.
"Return thy energy to the nether... Infernal Strike!" Freyr exclaims, his sword burning bright. As the words were being spoken, a dim blue aura surrounded the monster. Suddenly, a curved blade of energy erupted from the ground and pierced through the monster, then retracted into the ground from whence it came.
Physically the monster seemed to be unhurt, however the light in the lantern was more dim than it previously had been. Freyr felt empowered by the energy.

Kellan rubbed his wrists once they were free of the shackles. "Now that feels better..." He said, his attention turning to the gear dropped at his feet, picking it up. "Aye, these are mine." He said, strapping the belt around his waist and drawing the weapons from it: two flintlock pistols. "Now, I have a little bit of revenge to deliver."

Kaitlyn beginning to feel her body recovering from the paralysis; got up, with saber in hand, readying herself for payback.
"Okay, lets try that again." she thought out aloud, as she starts channeling magical energy to her left hand, prepping her new spell.
"Seems our 'friend' relies on its lantern as a shield. I wonder what would happen if it were destroyed." Kaitlyn smirked as she had some idea of defeating their formidable foe.
"Mind Destruction..." she starts chanting, "MIND BLAST!" as she fires a bolt of electricity, similar to what the Mindflayer used against her, towards it; hoping to ground it.

"We must help our friends." Sarah nodded as she headed into the hallway.

Kellan nodded and stepped into the hallway, quietly chanting something that made one of the pistols he held start glowing a pale blue, giving off a cold feeling. A blizzard spell. "Let's hope my aim hasn't dulled during my time in chains."

"Sweet, a Gunner. Just what we needed, more long-range capabilities," Talyn said as she entered the room from a nearby corridor. "And a battle, even better!" she added happily as she drew her blades. "Let's end this quickly, before the fight damages the spire!"

Kellan nodded and stepped into the hallway, quietly chanting something that made one of the pistols he held start glowing a pale blue, giving off a cold feeling. A blizzard spell. "Let's hope my aim hasn't dulled during my time in chains."
"You....use the same magic I use?" Sarah questioned.

"Very interesting!" Prospero said as he watched.

Kellan turned to Sarah and nodded, pointing the glowing pistol at the creature. "Aye. I was a knight once. Sir Kellan Worthington is what they used to call me... Now, I'm just a traveling mage with a pair of advanced weapons." He said, pulling the trigger of his gun and firing the blizzard bullet at the floating creature.

Sarah was in awe of the devices he used that she had never seen before but quickly regained her composture to strike the tenticle face creature head on.
(Hey look at that an RP that my character and Sapph's character regularly interact but my character doesn't hate his guts on sight for once! XD)

(Well Sapph in the Pokemon RP was a show off at first and Sakura hates showoffs, that and he does stupid things like crashing into windows and switching Giovanni's outfit with an M. Bison outift when they were supposed to be subtle about pranking him. They are friends, but like Joe she just uses him as a punching bag when he does stupid [parasitic bomb].
Sarah Leic doesn't like Robert Knight because of his alcoholic tendencies and owning a company that makes weapon's of mass destruction, however she has noticed that he's spsort of cleaning up his act, but she keeps an eye on him. She doesn't hate him like gender bent Lex Luthor.
Bat Sakura didn't have a good impression of Iron Sapph because he was recklessand even made things worse. She also felt he didn't take her seriously and doesn't think about the big picture like how difficult it is to keep the entire population of Manhatten safe from a giant pizza monster that was eating everyone.)

Reva charges forward as the spells fly letting her blade slash on a slightly angled downward motion, the crystal like blade glows as it approaches the monster and cleaves a nasty cut across it's chest. Raising her small shield she managed to tank the counter area of effect explosion spell that had sent her flying before.

"Keep up the pressure and it'll be defeated soon." Kellan said, keeping out of range of the creature's counter as he started chanting again. This time, both of his pistols started glowing red and giving off a heat.

Sarah was blown away from the Counter but went back to slashing the Cthulhu like monstrosity with her freezing blade.

"Fell Energy spawned from inner doubts... Quell from without! Crushing Blow!" Freyr exclaims, timing the attack when no one was near the beast. The dark energy spiraled around and enclosed upon it, cracking the lantern a bit in the process.

"Simple spells won't be enough for this foul creature. I need to kick it up a notch. Thunder Prism!" A transparent glass prism suddenly enclosed the creature and a bolt of lightning shot out from within, rapidly bouncing around the prism, shocking the creature with each bounce.
The prism soon faded away, and the monster's lantern cracked even further.
"It's working, let's keep up the assault!"

Talyn dashed over to the enemy. "Time to go beast mode on this guy. BEAST SWORD RAIN!!" she shouted as she unleashed a flurry of strikes with her twin blades that culminated in a burst of energy that looked not unlike the head of a lion, knocking the foe back into the nearby wall.

Kellan grinned under his cloak, aiming his pistols at the creature. With all the pressure being applied, the creature should fall soon... He thought, closing his left eye before pulling the triggers, his pistols firing two compressed, white-hot fireballs at a high enough speed that they looked more like glowing white crossbow bolts. One of the bullets hit and exploded on the lantern, while the other barely missed and exploded on the wall right next to it's face.
[Not huge explosions, just big enough that the nearest person to the creature would be getting a little bit hot. Maybe knocked back a little.]

Talyn was knocked back a bit. "Hey watch where you're firing that, man! You almost roasted me!" she yelled over to Kellan.

The squid headed guard having lost it's lantern catalyst began to retreat slowly firing less effective bolts of magic at Reva and anyone else on the front line all while cursing in some alien language.
"Ack y-yeah I'm still up here too!" Reva yelps as she barely manages to evade on blast and block a arcane bolt at the same time with her shield.

"Sir Kellan please be mindful of those who don't attack by range!" Sarah shouted as she recovered from the blasts.

"Sorry! It's been a while and I forgot that my fire bullets exploded." Kellan called forward, aiming his pistols and chanting again, much faster this time and making his guns glow a pale yellow. Trying to make sure the creature didn't escape, he pulled the triggers to fire two lightning bullets, hitting it in the chest. "That's only got enough kick to stun it! Someone get it before it escapes!"

"I'm on it!" Sarah shouted as she electrified her blade and went in to stab the tentacle beast.

As Sarah stabbed the beast, Freyr readied his sword. "Blade that absorbs thy life... Sanguine Sword!"
The red blade of energy pierced through the beast from below, away from Sarah's weapon.

"LIGHTNING THRUST!" Talyn shouted as she stabbed the foe in the knee. "Well after the combined force of Kellan's and Sarah's attacks with mine, that creature must've had quite the shocking experience!" she quipped. "And yes I did only attack just now for that joke."

"You shouldn't waste your energy for a joke." Sarah said bluntly.

"Eh probably not. Especially not for one that seems to have fallen as flat as it did..." Talyn replied. "Just trying to lighten the mood though..."

"Hahaha, nonsense young one!" Prospero laughed as he launched a barrage of magic missiles at the creature! "One must take some joy out of an adventure! Otherwise, what's the point?"

"Not in a life or death situation." Sarah shook her head "Must I remind you 2 that no one has ever returned from Zepter?"

"ESPECIALLY in a life or death situation!" Prospero said as he prepared a fireball spell. "If this is to be our time, then I want to go out with a smile on my face!"

"I'd rather not be distracted by taking enjoyment in a situation like this." Sarah shook her head.

"You're distracted by enjoyment? Well, we're gonna have to work on that with your training. I'm enjoying this, and LOOK AT WHAT I CAN DO!" Prospero boldly yelled out as he increased the power of his fireball spell, which bludgeoned the beast with magical fire.

"I'm talking about Pride Sir Prospero." Sarah responded disgusted by the overkill and Prospero wasting his energy for flashiness "Pride is a very dangerous thing to a person, overconfidence can lead to mistakes and mistakes can lead to death. Even the weakest of monsters can become a threat to those who don't take it seriously."

"Personally, I concede that you both are right," Luna added, "As someone once told me: It is great to have giant strength, but tyrannous to use it like a giant."
She prepared a thundara spell, "The call to adventure is a wonderful feeling, and you feel like you want to let loose. I have done so many times. However, one must be careful not to cloud their mind with power and fight with a clear and rational mind. We can't afford to make mistakes, because one mistake could very well be our last. Use discretion."

"I cannot take pleasure or experience enjoyment in killing, I do not wish to kill but I must kill out of necessity lest I be killed myself and I don't intend to become the very monsters I fight." Sarah stated. "I have seen many remains of adventurers in many places I trained, and I do not wish to join them."

The onslaught of magic quickly burn and melt the horrible creature and it falls forward trying to climb back to it's feet, turning her blade to it's side Reva swings her sword wide despite being no where near the beast now, suddenly as it was swung a blade of moonlight fires from the crystalline blade and explodes on contact destroying what was left of the tentacle faced jail keeper.
Reva places the sword back at her side and turns to face the others. "Everyone okay?"
((Reva's sword is again basicly the Sword of Moonlight from King's Field/Souls so it can fire energy waves although she can't spam it. Figured we had basically won at that point anyway, well at least against this jail keeper >=D ))

Kellan fell to a knee once the jailer was finished. "Aside from being starved to the point that I had to borrow magic from the world, I'm fine." He said, sighing. "I appreciate you saving me, but would you happen to have any food to spare? I haven't eaten in a long time and have used up my own magic for sustenance."

Luna nodded, "Yes, we still have some bread from the bar we occupied. Sorry, I know it's not much..." She reached in her bag and handed Kellan two loafs of bread.

"I've some fruit I've been saving." Sarah said as she added 2 apples to the bread.

"You know, you are way too serious for your own good, kid," Talyn commented with an exaggerated frown on her face.

With a sigh Freyr sheathed his weapon. He decided not to join in on the conversation, feeling as if the timing was a tad ill-timed. "I'm going to take another look in that room, in case we missed anything," Freyr said as he walked back into the room.

"So how long did you say you were kept here?" Reva lightly touches Kellan's shoulder to get his attention.
-
"He doesn't seem to remember, but it seems to have been at least 15 years since he said he saw my parents. But for some reason they didn't help him, I can't fathom a reason why though." Sarah said looking troubled.

"Well maybe he knows his way around this place? I mean unless he was just thrown in here and forgotten about," Talyn commented. "But if he does know his way around, a guide would be quite useful."

"Doesn't this whole thing seem weird though? Fifteen years and you look pretty fit and healthy, there is something wrong with how time seems to pass in this kingdom. I mean, even day and knight seem wrong here. Pitch black outside and day at the temple?" Reva places a hand on her hip as she lets her words sink into the others.

Kellan had nodded graciously and was eating the bread and apples he was given when Reva addressed him. "I do not know." He answered after making sure his mouth wasn't full. "As I cannot accurately assess the passage of time when the only source of light is the occasional torch, I can only assume it's been a long time. Longer than anyone without food or water should be able to survive."

"This fog must have some mystical properties then. Which is probably incredibly obvious due to how it's sat, unabated and nigh-impenetrable, for centuries..." she pondered.

"Or as he had said this place has no entry for sunlight and therefore he cannot tell time." Sarah said bluntly.

"Well if you were chained to a wall for even a week or two your body would not be able to move like his, Mr Kellan here looks like he's good shape. I'm not saying anyone is lying but I think time is seriously wrong here, that fog as Talyn said.
Serah perhaps thats why your parents have been missing for so long, maybe from their perspective it's not been as long?

"I was more addressing the fact that he's obviously been here for years with minimal food and water, if at all, and yet looks as if he's only gone a few days without. In addition, he saw your parents, and they vanished how long ago? Time must pass differently within the fog than without. For all we know, if we get out of here centuries could have passed outside! Not saying that's the case, but we have a man who has been here for at least 15 years and yet, despite lack of nourishment, is rather healthy overall," Talyn retorted.

"Hmm that might be the case." Sarah pondered "Still I don't understand why they would just ignore him like that. Though...I don't really know what my parents were like...."

Kellan let out a satisfied sigh as he finished the food. "Thank you very much for the food." He said, getting back to his feet. "I said I saw your parents, however, it, unfortunately, wasn't in person." He explained, turning to Sarah. "I sometimes get... Visions of the past or the future of wherever I am."

"Are you a Psion? I hear they can see the future sometimes." Reva tilted her head with some interest.

Sarah was shocked by what Kellan said.
"How...how can one have such powers?" Sarah said in awe.

"If I had focused my training on my 'sight', then I probably could have been a seer, as my grandfather was and my father, hopefully, still is." Kellan said, sighing. "As it stands, though, I had chosen to be a knight of the Blue King, and have since left those duties in search of other things."

"What do you seek?" Reva leans on the wall.
-
"What I seek is a spell." Kellan said, holstering his pistols. "A spell said to be able to go through any magical resistances. My goal is to find this spell and figure out a way to enchant weapons with it so that I may teach it to future generations of knights in my homeland."

"You mean getting past spells such as Reflect?" Sarah asked him.
-
"There are weapons that are enchanted to do that but a spell? Well it's not my area of expertise; luckily we have a bunch of talented mages here." Reva grinned giving a playful slap to Serah's shoulder.

"I think you mean Prospero." Sarah shook her head "My magic isn't that strong."
-
"A spell to get past magical resistance?" Prospero pondered. "Sure, there are a couple. Violent Pierce is such a spell, but it's dangerous and takes years of training to master."

"I seem to remember my Master telling me of a very destructive spell called Flare that may be able to be powerful enough to break said resistances. But that is also very dangerous." Sarah pondered.

"A lot of times it's not just the spell, but the person wielding the spell." Prospero stated. "True sorcery is not just tombs and grimoires, but focus & clarity."

"Well, I suppose so..." Kellan said, tapping his chin. "The spell I'm seeking out, however, is referred to in texts as 'Almighty', and is said to originate in this lost kingdom, and it's secret lost in the fog."

"Precisely if one does not have focus the spell can got out of control in a matter of seconds." Sarah nodded.
"Well, I suppose so..." Kellan said, tapping his chin. "The spell I'm seeking out, however, is referred to in texts as 'Almighty', and is said to originate in this lost kingdom, and it's secret lost in the fog."
"I've never heard of such a spell." Sarah shook her head.
(Seriously I only know of the Almighty Element in Persona.)

"My father once told me that he could use a spell called 'Mega Flare'. I assume it's a variation of the Flare spell that Sarah's master told her about, however, my father claims to have somehow invented the Mega Flare spell, himself. He was a powerful mage in his prime, and easily twice the mage I'd ever be," Luna noted.

"Perhaps Ultima?" Freyr asks as he wanders out of the room empty-handed. "I've heard... tales of it, but nothing more."

"Ultima is definitely a mystery in the realm of sorcery, Freyr." Prospero answered.

"It truely is, I don't even want to know how distructive it is." Sarah shuddered.

"Now then, may we proceed? I've been down here long enough and would like to at least be out of this hallway..." Kellan requested, taking a moment to glower at the cell he had previously occupied.

"Yes, I just pray my parents weren't captured and taken somewhere else." Sarah sighed.

"We'll need to find the key to opening that other gate upstairs if we want to get any higher in this tower." Reva glances down the hall deeper into the jail area "I'm guess something down here might have it?"

"Well it's certainly not in that room," Freyr says as he points behind him with his thumb. "I suppose we would need to continue on."

"Deeper into the dank dungeon--lovely." Reva sighs.

"Here's to hoping we don't run into multiple of those things at the same time..." Freyr says as he starts to walk down the hallway.

"I dunno. I could use the workout!" Prospero jokingly said!

Kellan sighed as he followed after. "It will be a while before I taste 'fresh' air again..."

"I would prefer not to, those creatures.....give me the this repulsive feeling." Sarah shuddered.

"Workout, eh? Couldn't hurt I suppose," Freyr says with a slight chuckle.

"I'm okay with an adventure I'd just rather not spend the next decade chained to some one's wall. Lets..not draw too much attention." Reva begins moving as quietly as possible with her shield raised keeping an eye out for the glow of lanterns.

"Hey Kellan, question for ya... Have you seen a large round jewel while you were in here at all? Or maybe in a vision? I mean there's two other things I'm looking for but I figure that one might be here," Talyn asked.
(I'm totally going with the sword/mirror/jewel sacred treasures that exist in Japan that were also used in Sailor Moon, but hey, that got it from the real ones first! A Smash 4 trophy told me so!)

The party curves around what seems like an endless maze of halls and cells, none of wicch seemed to be in use or had been used for some time; the occasional sound of a bell makes Reva and the others jump but luckily they manage to avoid any further conflicts. Soon the group emerge into a slightly larger room kept lit with blue magic lanterns, it doesn't take long to figure out the room was used for interrogation, although it's not obvious why use a room would be in a place of magical learning.
Reva checks to make sure nothing is lurking in the corners before nodding for the others to enter. "Anyone else regret coming down here now?"

"Regardless if I regret it or not I must find my parents." Sarah stated.

Reva looks around some of the nastier looking torture devices "I--I hope they weren't captured, I can't imagine anyone lasting long in here."

"I hope not as well." Sarah said grimly.

"On the plus side some of this dried blood looks pretty old, so not counting the messed up passage of time they should be okay." Reva tries to reassure Sarah as her gaze turns to a closed door at the far side of the room.

"That doesn't give me much hope." Sarah admitted.

"Well look around if theres nothing of theirs here then they likely never visited this room, those mindflayers don't look like the the type to steal people's stuff right?"

"I wouldn't know what their stuff would look like." Sarah pointed out "They left when I was 5."

"You must remember something?" Reva peeks into the small bared window at the top of the door and leans back nervous as she swears she something move inside.

Kaitlin feeling a bit nervous about Reva, couldn't help but ask, "What's troubling you, Reva?" Hoping that the red scarfed stranger, she saw back then, wasn't stalking the crew.

"Could have sworn I saw something move in that room there..." Reva glances back shrugging "Maybe I'm just jumping at shadows?"

"Better to be cautious than otherwise around here..." Freyr speaks up as he looks around the room.

"So..maybe we shouldn't open the door." Reva steps back.

"Or if we do, we do it prepared," Freyr said as he held his sheath with one hand. "I imagine it may be worth investigating..."

"Agreed, but lets wait for the others to finish looking around, might be something useful here." Reva nods in agreement.

"Personally, I've had more than enough 'investigating' this dreary place to last me a lifetime... Especially since I spent a good chunk of my lifetime in here." Kellan grumbled, hands resting on his holsters as he looked around the room. He slowly started reaching towards his face, but stopped midway.
[I don't remember if I mentioned an eyepatch in my initial description of Kellan...]

Luna noticed a chest in the corner of the room and approached it. It was locked tight, fastened with two locks.
She unsheathed her meteor sword and slashed the locks in one swipe, severing them. Opening the chest, she was presented with 3 health potions, 2 magic potions and a silver Axe.
"Hey, I found some supplies!" Luna called out to the party, "Who wants to take these? I don't need the health or magic potions, as my white magic covers those bases. Nor have I use for an Axe."
(I was going to add a scroll in there, which would increase someone's "level", but I guess it wouldn't actually work for an RP.)

"I'll take some health potions." Sarah replied as she found a silver shield "I think I may keep this shield for myself."

(To my knowledge magic potions are called ethers, BTW. But I'll play along.)
"Mind if I borrow some magic potions, I could some to keep my Mana Shield reinforced." Kaitlyn replies over to Luna, while removing a magic ring from a nearby mages corpse, "Sorry for taking this, but it's better if I hold on to this." She spoke softly to the rotting body.
(Yeah, Kaitlyn's so grave-robbing right here.)

(Mech, I'll just write this as if he did have an eye patch in that first post. If not, I'll fix it later.)
Kellan closed his exposed eye as he grabbed his eye patch. "I'm going to take a glance through time. If I don't come out of it in 5 minutes, someone please cover my eye." He said, removing the eye patch to reveal his other eye, which had a coloration opposite of his normal eye (black sclera and pale blue irises) and an unearthly violet glow.
(Now, what should he see? Something from the past, an enemy about to attack, or a trap about to be triggered?)

((The Future he sees nothing at all, that could be worrying or great depending on his point of view, in the past he sees flashes of Mages experimenting on various prisoners. Not sure how accurate these visions should be? Fill in the blanks if you want))

The Party jumps as the hulking shadow beyond the door suddenly smashes at it nearly tearing it off it's thick iron hinges. Reva jumps backward drawing her blade and raising her shield encase it succeeds into breaking through.
"Everyone behind me!" Reva says with an urgency.

Sarah ran behind Reva.
"Oh what now?" Sarah asked.

"I have a feeling our new friend here is not the only one to survive this prison!"

"You mean like some poor tourtured soul who's lost their mind?" Sarah asked worriedly.

"I think theres a good chance of that, although I doubt theres much human about that anymore."

"I see......I suppose we may have to end their suffering." Sarah said grimly.

"The fun never ends, does it?" Luna said sarcastically, readying her weapon.

The door shakes again and again with each hit until it's hinges crumble sending the door flying nearly crushing Reva in the process, the hulking humanoid figure is as large as a troll his body malformed in multiple places with one arm much larger than the other covered in old torn rags.

Freyr gazed at the the emblem on the tattered clothes of the monstrosity stepped out. He remained silent as he took out his sword.

"Dear gods!" Sarah gasped as she enchanted her sword with a Fira "Who could do such a thing?"

"Oh god kill it with Fira!" Reva blurts out.

"A very sick person, I'd imagine," Luna replied, a tinge of sadness in her voice.
"Stay vigilant, everyone," She prepared herself, waiting for this monstrosity to make the first move.
"Oh god kill it with Fira!" Reva blurts out.

The "hulk" brings it's fists above it's head before slamming them into the ground sending anyone close by flying back a bit Reva manages to keep her footing however. "GRAAAAAAH!" It yells loud enough to warn any jail keepers still roaming the halls that something is amiss.

"Forgive me!" Sakura shouted as she started to run towards the man to slash him.

Her slash doesn't stagger it too much given it's size and bulk but it does make it angry causing it to retaliate with a backhand swipe.

"... Let's put him out of his misery," Freyr said as he flanked the monster on the opposite side of Sakura.

Sakura raised her new sheild but the recoil forces her back and nearly made her lose her footing.
"We need something bigger!" Sakura shouted. "Or find a weak spot, try the legs!"

Reva holds her blade up high the light emitted from the sword grows, swinging on her heel as if throwing a great weight she slashes at the air as a blade of light emits from the blade colliding with the monster's larger arm doing some noticeable damage to it's thick hide. It grabs it's arm in pain it's retaliation at Reva leaving it open to Freyr's attack.

"Stand back everyone," Freyr says as he gets behind the beast.
"Mine Vigor spent to remove thine own... Abyssal Blade!"
A dark glow emanates from Freyr and sinks into the ground. Suddenly, several blades of dark energy stab through the ground right into the monstrosity.

Kellan had gotten out of the way of the fight, continuing to try to see through time with his eye. "Tch... Nothing..." He grumbled quietly, readjusting his eyepatch and looking at the hulking creature as Freyr's attack seemed to hit it's mark.

Luna ran up to the creature and leaped in the air, blade unsheathed, "Twin Inferno!"
With a swing of her sword, two twisting pillars of flames emitted from the blade, aiming right at the foul beast.

The beast began to lose it's balance from all the attacks, unable to stand up to so much magical damage at once it fell to one knee randomly flailing it's arms at what ever was closest.

Kaitlyn - "I think someone needs to cool off. Freeze sign: Frost!" She casts a frost spell at the creature's flailing arms, causing them to freeze over leaving it helpless to defend itself.
(I think that should do, before following it up with whoever's finisher. If that's okay with everyone else.)

(Ooh I feel like Sarah can make the arms shatter making the dude howl in pain with blood spurting everwhere like the Black Knight in the Holy Grail before Prospero blows it up.
Why am I so gory today?!)
