James Avery, best known for playing Will Smith's no-nonsense rich uncle on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died. He was 65. The news was first broken by TMZ, which reports that Avery died last night at a Los Angeles hospital and had recently undergone surgery for an undisclosed condition.

Oh [tornado fang] no.
I'll have to re-watch Fresh Prince in honor of his passing. He was a huge reason why I loved it.
Let's give credit to this heartbreaking scene, of which most of it was improvised, hug included. Both Will and James deserve credit for their talent.

Changed my facebook cover photo back to this (https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/981706_595986913774765_1741768577_o.jpg) in memoriam. RIP.

My best guess is that this happened due to a heart condition, because from everything I've seen him in, he's been about the same weight.

Loved him as Shredder. He shall be missed.

He shall be missed, indeed.

He will be missed. O^O

My best guess is that this happened due to a heart condition, because from everything I've seen him in, he's been about the same weight.
If you look carefully, he had lost a fair amount of weight and had been in a more healthy weight range. But that unfortunately doesn't undo any damage that may have been done when he was really overweight.
But consider his age, too. That, and the fact that he died due to a COMPLICATION from a heart surgery he had. Wasn't directly caused by the heart condition itself.
RIP, great man.

Was it even heart surgery?
Last I heard it was an undisclosed operation
