Title: Shadow is an incarnation of Double?
Post by: Karasai♪ on May 31, 2012, 04:46:28 AM
The two are very similar. Both character/storywise and appearance.

Or is this just a coincidence? I haven't played Command Mission yet :/

They're both derived from the same static "betrayed by a maverick" theme that's happened time and time again. They were both double agents, though they both have different reasons for their betrayal. Double seemed to be partly insane and Shadow took a savagely ambitious attitude for power.

also, Double was a spy from the start, a made maverick.

Shadow is a traitor seduced by power, and possibly maverick

And one had ties with sigma, and the other didin't. So yeah, each traitor has their own motives and duties assigned to them by the opposing side. X should've become xenophobic by the time he was done with double, as he was closest (besides Zero) as anyone to get to X. Ironically, both could've killed the maverick hunter in the base if they weren't commanded by their superiors.

I'll give Shadow props for one thing that he has over the Rebellion Cadre (Botos, Ferham, Scarface, and Epsilon).  Shadow has Codebreaker.  Botos, Ferham, Scarface, and Epsilon do not have that deadly move (unless you count Epsilon's Preon Counterpart having the move of course.)
