I still haven't played Apollo yet, someone please scold me for not doing so.
The Blue Badger is pleased. Very, very pleased.

Oh come on, Apollo was cool too.
But anyway, which do you guys prefer?

Amusingly, it has been the same artist throughout the series.
they start getting an anime
You can see they put a lot of work, vibrant colors, charming character design and effort into this. I think I actually want the JP and US versions of this and live stream it later! O:
And apparently AA5 is getting anime cutscenes too. Damn.

Oh come on, Apollo was cool too.
Phoenix Wright is the main character in Ace Attorney 5, but the protagonist from Ace Attorney 4 aka Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney will return too. Famitsu has a picture of Apollo Justice in this week’s issue.
It sounds like the perceptive lawyer has seen better days. Apollo Justice has his right eye and right arm wrapped in bandages. Ouch!
Ace Attorney 5 is in development for Nintendo 3DS.
Well Apollo is cool and all, but where is
[spoiler]Trucy[/spoiler]
What I want to know is where the hell is Maya Fey. Or Edgeworth for that matter.
And it pissed me off that Hobo Wright only made a brief reference to her by saying "this kid I know sends me these Samurai videos", or something like that. What a dick.
It's been 7 years. They probably have their own lives going on.
Trucy's the Magician chick, right?
I haven't played AA4, but I recall liking her design.
Yup, he was so cool, they decided to bring him back~ :cookie: (http://www.siliconera.com/2013/03/12/apollo-justice-returns-for-ace-attorney-5/)

Capcom has released information on the man who will be in the opposition this time: Jin Yuugami is a prisoner convicted of murder. Dressed in black and white with a hawk feather in his lips and shackles around his wrists, Jin is known as the "warped prosecutor" and excels at psychological manipulation in the courtroom.
Jin will appear in the second chapter of Ace Attorney 5 against Apollo Justice.
Costume DLC in a visual novel.
Now I've seen everything.
Costume DLC in a visual novel. If you'll do this ever again...
If you'll do this ever again...
I'll choke you.
Somehow.
But I'll do it.
Want original Phoenix? $5 please!
What a farce. 3D costumes are easy as [parasitic bomb] to make and implement honestly. If it was a hand drawn game and required you to draw the animations over to make it, then maybe the price you usually see on these sorts of things could even be close to justifiable. In 3D though, the model follows the animations you already have, and requires very little work to implement. I'd probably pay $3 at most to reskin the entire cast of characters in this game, but I'd never pay for them individually.
Capcom, like others, has been diving head long into bullshit DLC so much, especially with the fighter games. [parasitic bomb] like that pisses me off, especially if they are just recolors too, which doesn't seem to be the case here but see also BlazBlue's DLC color palettes. Disgusting.
“Historically it’s been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible. With that in mind we have opted for a digital only release via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
We understand that this decision may upset fans who wanted to have a physical version of the title to add to their collection but we believe this direction is the best to take to ensure that fans are able to enjoy the game at their own leisure.
We will be confirming details on the price point soon so please stay tuned for more information on the latest in the Ace Attorney series.”

...the forecasts for AA5 I’ve put in are aggressive (high) relative to the historical performance of the franchise (needed to make sure it came over), so I’m counting on you guys to not make me a liar.
in contrast, atlus and aksys are actually in touch with their fans. and reality. so not really a fair comparison.
That's precisely the reason why I'm mentioning this.Agreed.
If they were like those two companies, namely Atlus, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Can't wait till they say "Baww not enough people bought AA5 so we're not giving you anymore Ace Attorney games."I'm pretty sure that's the same [parasitic bomb] that happened with Senko no Ronde: Dis-United Order (and region-locking it only pours salt on the wound), and probabaly what's gonna happen to "Ender's Project" thanks to High-Voltage botching up the Zone of the Enders HD Collection (especially with the PS3 version that Kojima is working on to undo the damage).
Now there is no excuse to not have all the games on the eShop, since they're all on DS at minimum. This includes Miles Edgeworth 2!!!
A very valid point.
Except, do you think Nintendo would ever put out/authorize the sale of original DS games on the eShop?
also here's what i was mentioning. If that's true, then Sven is screwed. Contrary to popular belief there is a big world out there of people who buy video game consoles without considering in-home wifi a necessity of life (kids who have no choice in the matter especially). Going download-only may cut the production costs but it also cuts out potential customers. Add to that the "techno-literate" who could download but have married themselves to the traditional box (like myself), along with those who wonder why a "digital-only" game is costing as much as a retail game, and I think Capcom has a much greater uphill battle on their hands than they realize.

Can't wait till they say "Baww not enough people bought AA5 so we're not giving you anymore Ace Attorney games."Namely, this.
Why the heck is he wearing glasses? Is he getting that old or something? He still looks young enough to not need them.
Edgeworth could wear bunny pajamas and rock that [parasitic bomb].this must be an image
You know you want those bloomers.

"Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes, and Language" - which are actually the very same content descriptors assigned to the first game in the series back in 2001.
No Ace Attorney game has even come close to M-rated. Even if this game is the darkest in the series, I highly doubt that rating is warranted. This has to be an exaggeration.1st AA game on better-than-DS-hardware = more detail = the exact same content is viewed as less appropriate for the young.

what
Oh yeah, this is a DLC case.
Coming from a series where we had to interrogate a parrot, this doesn't surprise me too much.
Did you play the 4 main games?
its made me a fan
I'm not even done with the first game.I was about to say that 2 is pretty short on character development compared to 3 or 4, but then it did introduce Pearl and Franziska... 3 is my fav if only for the fact that Mia and Edgeworth were added to the playable roster, both definitively awesome moments for the series.
But its made me a fan, so I'll still want to buy this anyway.
I don't disagree, but "worst" is in this case a very relative term. Picking out the worst Ace Attorney game is like picking out the worst Mario Kart: it's still a hell of a lot better than most of the other stuff out there.
Except Mario Kart Wii is the worst mario kart and there are far better alternatives.
According to the latest edition of Famitsu magazine, the first three Ace Attorney games, that is, Ace Attorney, Justice for All, and Trials and Tribulations, are heading to the 3DS in a special compilation edition. The compilation will be called Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection, and will feature enhancements on the new handheld, such as the addition of stereoscopic 3D.
Famitsu suggests that both an English and Japanese version are in the works, as the Japanese version of the collection will also have the English-language option present. It's worth noting that Japanese versions of previous Ace Attorney games have had an English language option.
A limited edition version will also be available, which will come with a drama CD, and first-print copies will come with a download code to get an extra arranged BGM and an original background image.
The compilation will be released in Japan on April 17 for 3,990 yen (~$45 US). There was no word on when it will release in any other markets.
Well this means they should take absolutely no time to put this out in the US.
Because the work is already done for them.
No no, they obviously have to remove all the Japanese stuff from the game and make a new logo, that's clearly too much work.... :cookie:
I really hope the HD version of Ace Attorney 123 gets released here.
I'd prefer Investigations 2 - you know, the game I actually haven't played before?
During a Nintendo Direct back in February, it was revealed that the original Ace Attorney series creator, Shu Takumi, was working on a new game of the series. This new project has been revealed as The Great Ace Attorney, and it takes place during the Meiji period of Japan.
As mentioned in our earlier report, the new Ace Attorney project was said to be completely different from past games of the series, and now that we know that The Great Ace Attorney will be taking place during the Meiji period (1868 – 1912), it sounds like it will indeed be quite different.
The protagonist of the game is known as Ryunosuke Naruhodo (Naruhodo is the name for Wright in Japanese), and he’s actually an ancestor of Ryuichi Naruhodo, or Phoenix Wright. The image shows him dressed in what appears to be a school uniform and he’s wielding a katana on the side, stating, “I’ll become a lawyer… definitely!”
The game will be directed by Shu Takumi. Shintaro Kojima, who previously worked on E.X. Troopers and the Monster Hunter series, will take on a role as producer.
The Great Ace Attorney is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS.
Considering the fact that Capcom withheld one of AA5's DLC chapters for being "too japanese", I can only IMAGINE what kind of horror story they'll feed everyone to avoid localizing this.
Well, wasn't that some like quiz or something about some Japanese stuff? I can imagine that it wasn't considered common knowledge to the US so they cut it. Not that they couldn't have rewritten the scenario to use something more common knowledge based but hey that would've taken effort and you know Capcom on the concept of effort in recent history. Besides, I know that people would've bitched because something was rewritten/changed from the original version just because people do that, regardless if it would've been a good change or not.Someone will always [sonic slicer], ergo if bitching is a reason to do nothing, nothing would ever happen. And yeah, nobody will EVER convince me that they have not had to change subject matter in the series previously.
Ace Attorney 5, on the other hand, I still [tornado fang]ing wanted that in physical form.This. So much this. O:<
Iris Watson:
Iris is a young girl who lives with Holmes. At an early age of 8 years, she already has an M.D., and has also serialized “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” which is very popular in London. There are rumors that even say that her reasoning talent surpasses even that of Sherlock Holmes’.
She sure aged well. :3
Time to catch up! Left off after I finished AAI1.
