Title: Question about the voice effect on Copy X voice
Post by: Rin on April 08, 2011, 12:22:59 PM
So... in the Zero series sound dramas, you can clearly hear Copy X has some kinda effects put on his voice. Anybody knows what kind of effects these are?
I know only that they upped the pitch on his voice a bit, I think, but I'm clueless about the rest of it.
You can hear what I mean while listening to his conversation with Zero from the track TRUTH OF HERO from the first remastered album.
Anybody can help me out?

Uuuh, from what I can hear, it sounds like they took out a lot of the sound data in the voice. I don't remember what effect it specifically is, but you remove the quality/fullness in order to get this sort of 'tampered' metallic shing in the sound.

Other than that, it's pitched up and there are parts that are sped up as well. Not normal sped up, 'I jammed my tape' kind of sped up. (The pitch increases) The effects are on and off though, so it'll take a lot of tinkering to get it right.

Dubbing Copy X? :3

I will possibly be dubbing him, for I have something in mind. But first, I want to figure out that goshdarn voice effect.
Thanks for your help. But even with it, it's hard for me to figure out how to do this right... in the end, I guess I'll have to create my own effect... but the upped pitch stays, because I like it. And it seems fitting. : P

I will leave this thread open in case anybody has an idea...

I wish I could help. But I the last time I listened to these drama tracks was years ago. And I hardly remember any effects.

Honestly it just sounds like they recorded his voice then afterwords just applied a low grade flanger and compressor to it.

Speaking of Copy X's voice, who was the voice actor who portrayed him in the games and the drama tracks?
