Title: Take-Moon getting an Anime adaption! Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime jokes abound~

Well, I thought I'd post this here as I didn't see anything after a search.

Who's up for Fumoffu? styled episodes featuring the characters from Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night?

Finished reading the latest chapter a few weeks ago. It's ok, nothing great.

Guess i'll watch this.

Cool. We'll finally have a Tsukihime anime.
Always thought that would be cool.

This thing is called Carnival Phantasm (http://typemoon.org/products/cp/index.html), by the way.

I hate to say it, but that song is really growing on me...

Doesn't look to bad actually, although i'm obviously looking most forward to Fate/zero.

Well, the first volume comes out soon and the second and third volumes have already been announced (http://www.typemoon.com/products/cp/outline.html) (coming out on October 28th and sometime later Demcember respectively) with the third one being the last, which will include the PC game Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code ver.1.07.

Oh hey subs for the first episode are finally out.

...it took them a week to sub 15 minutes with the last three episodes pending release sometime in the near future. I'm disappointed in you, UTW.

Saw both the first and second episodes. Didn't expect to laugh as hard as i did. I felt that the manga was only alright, but this is absolute genius. I [tornado fang]ing love the use of the "Magic Circuit" meter when Ciel was trying to save the ball. There hasn't been that big of a flood of great anime this season, but this might be the best.

Only disappointment: No Ryougi

I'd seriously consider deducting off points from this anime if she doesn't make it in. I mean, they put her in a Melty Blood game to boot, so she fits right in.

So according to this (http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8103/1314205761073.jpg) the re-release of the Take-Moon manga will come with a bonus DVD special of Carnival Phantasm.

I'd seriously consider deducting off points from this anime if she doesn't make it in.

That's silly.

So by the news of the appearance of Red Saber in the latest installment of this animu, I decided to watch the whole series with my friend.
Even though he had not that much exposure to the world of type-moon (I can't say I had all that much myself) he enjoyed this immensely... and so did I.
Really, I did not expect this to be as good as it was.
Also, constant deaths of Lancer.

Times Killed: 25. You got a long way to go before you can reach Krillin's total death count, Lancer.  XD

I'll just start off by saying It would be a very bad idea to start here. References to the VN's everywhere you look, and will go past an average viewer.

Where the TM craze originated from:

If you want a good taste of TM, start with the Fate/Stay Night VN (Visual Novel). Lots of variety there thanks to the different routes and endings.

For Tsukihime, again, go with the VN. Another option would be to read the manga, which is a very faithful and excellent adaption to the VN; closely follows Arcueid's route. But be warned, avoid the anime adaption like a plague.

Or if you wanna watch anime:

- The Fate/zero anime seems to be shaping up quite well, so that would also be a good place to start. Introduces the previous Holy Grail War.

- Studio DEEN's Fate/Stay Night anime adaption. Takes place after the events of Fate/zero's Holy Grail War. It holds up pretty well, despite the later quality drops and boring pacing from time to time. You'll no doubt feel satisfied by the ending of it.

Lastly, there's the Kara no Kyoukai movies, which will confuse the [parasitic bomb] out of you if you're unfamiliar in the Tsukihime-verse. Overall the movies are top-notch, action oriented, quality thrillers that only ufotable can deliver.

Post by: Gaia on December 01, 2011, 12:25:02 AM
I'll start with Fate/zero then. The VN would masterfully shoot my computer down, due to it's gigabyte payload. Dammit guys, where's the Fate/Mini mini-VN?

Studio DEEN's version would be a good choice to start, then.. now to FIND it.

Don't expect non-stop action in every episode though. Or you'll be disappointed, especially for Fate/zero.

It's more of a patience type of plot, slow moving and very strategic. But when the action does pick up, it's beautiful.

Uh, ok...?

I know that obviously, I'm just letting Gaia know. He's new to the entire thing. Do you seriously think "war" is completely literal in all anime. There's tons of "war" anime with constant fighting and almost non-existent strategies.

Aha! I knew there was a prototype somewhere. They screened this first probably before releasing the main anime with changes (such as female saber.. but with Blue, Red, Dark, and now Guy, that makes four Sabers).

What are you babbling about, Gaia?
FSN is ORIGINALLY a visual novel. Anime has nothing to do with this... this is a prototype which was written before main FSN Visual novel (from what I understand). And it got animated now, apparently.

Or maybe you are saying something completely different and I just have trouble following you?

For some reason I doubt FSN would've ever been adapted into an anime if the VN wasn't made.

Anywho, anybody know why Saber was changed into a female?

FSN would probably even be ignored if it went straight to the anime route. We all have to start somewhere.

... For Seiba's gender, I guess the creator wanted to switch the gender between master and servant around? Fanservice? There are many an idea as that decision was made.

They decided during the development of the visual novel that Ayaka was not an ideal protagonist for the target audience, so Saber was redesigned and had his gender swapped and Ayaka was dumped altogether in favor of Shirou to make it more appealing.

Apparently to the market. They'll love it when an ally outdoes their dance partner (ITT: Anything that happens to be red, named ZERO, emo, or have-at-you). I'd love to see Ayaka myself.

Actually, what I keep hearing is that Takeuchi desperately wanted to draw a female in a suit of armor and that then triggered the whole slew of changes.

Then again, when you look at the outline of this prototype with all the Servants being male and all the Servants female, this probably would have gone down the Shoujo route and wouldn't have been as successful I think. Nonetheless, I'm thrilled to see this actually happen. Archetype Saber animated, [tornado fang]ing awesome. I want more of this.

He comes across as a [tornado fang]ing clod right now, maybe this changes as the VN goes on.

Enough with that however, what I really want to know is why everybody hates Sakura so much. She hasn't really done anything irritating, though her voice gets rather grating.

I got over it.

But that isn't important anymore.

Fate Route over, I'll do UBW when I feel like trudging through mostly similar scenes for a while.

No you weren't.

But as you say, it's not important - I don't even care, I'm just kidding around.

The scenes aren't all that similar for too long anyway. Fate is generally agreed to be the worst route so hopefully you should enjoy UBW far more. If not there's always HF.

Well thats good to hear. I thought Fate was alright so I guess I'm in for a treat with UBW. I heard Heaven's Feel was pretty good as well, though that remains to be seen.

Still have plenty of bad ends to go through, so it might be a bit of time before I finish the game.

If you want to get technical it's actually Judai from the 10th Anniversary Movie, but yes.

Also, you were already insane.

Well thats good to hear. I thought Fate was alright so I guess I'm in for a treat with UBW. I heard Heaven's Feel was pretty good as well, though that remains to be seen.

Heavens Feel has some of the best scenes in the whole VN, but they don't really happen until near the end. Sure it has it's moments before then, but it takes awhile before you get to the really good parts.

In the end, your enjoyment of the route on a whole will depend on how much you like Sakura really.

Still have plenty of bad ends to go through, so it might be a bit of time before I finish the game.

[spoiler]My personal favorite bad end is the one where Saber kills Shirou to get the Grail at Kotomine Chuch in the Fate route because you made Shirou act even stupider than usual with your choices the whole route.[/spoiler]
