Hm, where do I start?

For the past couple of days, the website has had a ton of CPU Exceeded Errors infested all over the place. This recent one was a major killer.

It turned out that the database for our site was inaccessible for many hours, and it strained the servers, and one or two database table for the forum got corrupt. It forced our host to shut down RPM completely, but one email reply later, it got half-fixed. The website and Oekaki is still running just fine.

The forum database is still saved and intact, but to make the RPM forum run in super-speed again, an ultimatum had to be decided on. Until my partner DZ can come up with a way to repair the corrupt data for the backed up forum database, the sad news is coming...

We started a clean new forum! D:

Since we still kept the past forum database intact, I will offer something for you all. You will be able to ask for specific messages that you have posted on the past forum, and I will be able to bring it back somehow, one post at a time. A "Request Topic" will be made on this new forum, where you can ask what posts that you want to see again, so that your precious data isn't completely lost. I'm kind and generous, that's my job.

Anyway, wait for an announcement if the past forum can be revived or not. Either way, we will bring back "every" important topic or post that we made on the past forum (including news posts) and make sure that things goes back to normal.

Oh, since we're trying to cut down on CPU power, the Art Gallery script will be gone, but as a replacement, we will bring all the artworks we had and put them up on a regular RPM web page instead. It will cut on the CPU power dramatically that way.

I hope I covered all the topics, but remind me if there's anything else that needs to be mentioned.

A fresh start is always nice now and then. Although I do have to admit that this was rather inconvenient.

Clean, and fast, and effective.
Until it's clogged with [parasitic bomb] again and we do it all over again.

I recently formatted my hard drive, so I know the feeling of fresh start.

uncertain. though there are a few suspects i have in mind. one kidded around about how one would go about doing to RPM what just happened.

kinda like how OJ wrote that book that said how he would've done it if he did it.

I actually found this fun.  It was nice to have a night or two off from RPM and such.  And now, older topics can be new again, and I can have fun getting my post count OVER 9,000!  XD

What the duck indeed.
Well over at Ducksoup the avatars must be of Rubber ducky shape, my previous one was a Geddy Lee head copy/pasted onto a rubber ducky body.
So I decided to make one for myself, a Centaur Man head copy/pasted onto a ducky body, coloured the right colours, and added a little detail in the front.
I could have done better, but I was getting used to Photoshop CS4 (Awesome sauce, it is.) and was a bit rusty using my mouse to colour.

Well, ain't that a thorn in the side?  I'm used to seeing the boards I frequent have some server issues and such once in a while, but I don't think I've had to re-register before.  Anyway, it's good to see everything's up and running again.

Sucks that the links to the discussion threads for the April Hoaxes are gone... though, that also means the more obnoxious posts in those threads are also gone. :P

This also means there's no record of Subtank being around... which sucks.

I also wish I didn't have to re-register... not that it's a huge deal, but still.

Oh well, stuff happens.

I know huh well at least all of Lacan's topics are gone and all the members who sign up and never post, just post once and never came back, and all the members who were meant to be banned but never were are also deleted so they can't come back and insue n00bish havok on the boards so this isn't bad. 

Plus I was meaning to ask the admins to delete my Megaman Zeta fan-fiction thread so I can bring it back with better stuff so I'm sorta half glad this crash happened.

Honestly, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm having fun with the thread revivals myself.

See, that's what makes RPM the best damn Rockman site on the web, IMO.  It's not the content of our threads, but it's you, the members, who post in them and bring your own unique charm, charisma, and downright sexcellence!  You guys and gals are the best!   8D

Sorry about that other breakdown a few hours ago.
It turns out the old corrupt and broken database wasn't completely deleted, but now taken care of.
NOW we can go back to out fun stuff, says our host. ^^

I'm glad the board's back online, but I don't really approve of the fresh start. It sucks to see that all the time spending on the board literally went to waste. I pray to Anonymous that DZ can recover the old board entirely...

Yeah, it does kinda suck, but i like to think that we can start new, somewhat fresh discussions about Rockman and such again.  You know...you could be the first one to start a discussion in the X topic.  8)

Killsringman is my usual internet account, but I decided to use my real life nickname now, which is Flok.

A new start is always fresh, and smells nice, but could you please, please revive my fan fiction topic? It's title was Mega Man Data. I have pretty much all of the chapters still intact on my hard drive, but I would like to see the old comments on my fiction to make a return. I would be grateful.

Well, since this is a fresh start and all, I decided to rename myself GAP (for those who don't know me , I use to be the user Guernsey) using the initials of my own name (Guernsey Adams Pierre) so that nobody will take my information and use it but I plan to change it back if proves to be an inconvientence using GAP as my username. I forgive you Vixy even if it has cause me to lose some messages and post counts but I wonder if my past information is still roaming around somewhere and if use in my new account if I can? Anyway, I am going to start being GAP for awhile to see what happens.

Well, finally back from the sabattical. (hence my first post, since the site went down!?)
Regardless, tragic news at work today unfortunately, since my dear co worker passed away. Not the way I want to start my week, and certainly the last thing I want to talk about but I had to get it out either way. Really sucks. *sob* R.I.P. Brother.
