Title: I say GOOD things about your video games!
Post by: VixyNyan on June 03, 2010, 04:36:44 PM
Tell me a game, ANY game, and I will (try to) impress you by saying at least 1 good thing about it.

It can be any game, it doesn't matter the genre or how awesome or horrible the game already is.
If a game is already good, I will add more coolness to its awesomeness. x3

Import games, games that hasn't come out yet or games you have never played before are fine too. ^^b

If you want to ask about a specific version or specific installment of a game series, that works too.

I want to do this myself tho, so please don't say anything unless I say it's OK.

One game at a time please.

Let's-a go~!!

I was hyped on the game before playing. I saw art of it, and played Kingdom Hearts and thought Cloud was really cool, etc, etc, etc. Had NO judgement affect me, paid a bundle for it, loaded it up on my PS2, and when the horrible graphic models filled the screen, I looked dumbfounded at the screen and said "What the [tornado fang] is this?" I had played FF8 and 9 before, so I didn't expect this one to be much worse in the graphics department. Boy was I wrong. But I decided to give it a shot and kept playing.

Incredibly lame story that got lamer and lamer with time. Every single damn anime stereotype coupled with the same old RPG gameplay and the most unlikeable characters of all time. When I finished this heap of crap, I breathed a sigh of relief. NEVER AGAIN. NEVER. AGAIN.

...and I had to play it again a year ago or so due to losing a bet. BUT NEVER AGAIN AGAIN.

Y'see, this is exactly what I'm getting at. People's expectations are set way too high for this game, even though it was born in the time during the very awkward transition from 2D to 3D. So it's to be expected that this game has aged poorly.

Most people who hate or hail it never actually played it and got all their information from rabid fanboys or hatefilled scumbags.

There.

Eh, I personally think it's a pretty good game w/ an interesting story.  The models I personally find charming, same case w/ the scenery, but that's just me.  An idiot, right? 8D

That would be perfectly fine, if most fans of the damn thing even played it back then. The biggest part of the fanbase all started to love the game when Advent Children was announced, and it got all popular again. Even for back then, the game was pretty much a mediocre RPG with a horrible story and bad graphics.

I got no problem with people liking it. Just with people worshipping it.

I liked it back in the day, to a certain extent. It was never particularly my favourite though, even back then. I found it didn't quite hold up a candle to FF6, and as far as the PS1 era games go I actually prefer 8 and 9 to 7, 9 in particular for whatever reason.

I personally prefer FF9... even tough, I've never beat it.
FF8 I never played.
FF7 I did... and I find it worse than FF6... which I ALSO did not beat.
In fact, I've never beat any FF game.
I can however tell you, that when playing FF9 and FF6 I had much bigger enjoyment than from playing FF7.

Also, anyone ever seen that doujin, where Aeris, in order to get money, starts selling her "flowers" (TL: becomes a dirty WHORE)? She's even in a bee costume at one point.

Jesus, I couldn't fap, because it was so [tornado fang]ing hilarious. (THOSE FACES)

Ekhm...

So, Vixy...

I guess I was fortunate, then, to have played it not long after it came out. Because of that, it wasn't ruined by rampant fanboy/girlism.

Then again, I like Mega Man X7, so I don't think there's much that can be ruined for me.

I saw a video of that; I don't think I'll ever play that judging by what I saw of its sheer unplayability and unforgivable amount of glitches.

You know what's unforgivable? The game seemed good. With good level design and alot of bullshit-cutting, it WOULD have been good. The demo was good, for example. All they needed was to erase that damn gameplay aspect that made Sonic slide for a very long time and replace that with the summersault. But it could have been good. Only there were too many damn broken gameplay aspects.

Like the speed portions, for example. Those were incredibly horrible, totally unnecessary, and they played very badly. Only instead of refining the gameplay of the main game, they went and made a game based entirely on those speed portions. [tornado fang] you, Sega.

How about.... Banjo-Tooie.

- I loved the fact that you kept all your power ups and abilities from the first game! ^^b

- How fun is it to get a 1-ton weight on your head during the Tower of Tragedy quiz? Not really fun... but it's funnier when Grunty's sisters get the hit, and even funnier when Grunty's plan backfires and no one else gets a weight on their head. It's like Kazooie suggests: "You could escape in a cowardly fashion like in Banjo-Kazooie, before we kick your bony butt." and Grunty does just that! Just wonderful! XD

- Canary Mary will beat your sorry behind and it will feel very satisfying when you beat her~ Jiggy and Cheato GET! >u<

- Give Mumbo Jumbo a Glowbo, run to a Mumbo Pad, summon Golden Goliath and go kick things! Rocks in the way? KICK! Enemies annoying you? KICK! Doors to open? KICK!! <3

- And how about Dragon Kazooie? Super-cute and very deadly fire breaths! No one is messing around with her now, no way! x3

- I missed Grunty's rhyming... but the game is still great tho. ^^;

The Great Battle V

- A very awesome 2D action game with super-deformed robot cowboys in the wild west! Who else but Banpresto? <3

- You play as the blue-haired Fighter Roa and get to choose a partner that you can switch to at anytime: God Gundam, Kamen Rider Black RX and Ultraman. In the 2 player mode, you decide which player will be Roa or the partners.

- You shoot with Y, jump with B and switch characters with X. In the side-scrolling levels, you dash with A and each character does different kinds of moves.

- The boss battles work the same way as Wild Guns, meaning that you move a cursor around to shoot things, while you also avoid attacks by side-stepping to the left or right. You can also dodge-roll by pressing two buttons, and each character has different animations too.

- The soundtrack is very upbeat and has that distinct SNES quality that everyone loves. Since the overall theme of the game is the wild west, you will hear music in that style in most stages (including whistling and guitars), with cool songs like The Heroes Appear! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbIZyRt4XSg), Rendezvous (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i898lq77TE) and Regret (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5HxvUJEYfI), but also some upbeat, soothing and JRPG style tunes like Caverns & Mines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpIEoMOMutc) and Mountain Path (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXeYya37AFA). You got to love the hard work that Norihiko Togashi and Kennosuke Suemura put into it.

- That sound effect when jumping on enemies heads... very Magical Quest-ish there. ;3

Code Geass: Lost Colors.

A screen I took a few years ago~ x3
(http://lol.rockmanpm.com/codegeasspsp02.png)

Also:

- You play as someone who isn't part of the main cast, and doesn't really show their face throughout the course of the game either. They don't know their own name since they suffered from amnesia, so you have to give them a name and you later build a story for them based on what scenario you are playing. It's later shown in a magazine scan that it's a silver-haired guy with the name Rai.

- You are jumping into 4 different scenarios that reflect the series as a whole:
1. Code Geass shows scenes from Lulu's point of view.
2. Order of the Black Knights has you joining Zero and team to liberate Area 11 from Britannia wearing a fantabulous Black Knight outfit.
3. Holy Empire of Britannia lets you become a Knightmare Frame pilot and be best friends with Suzaku.
4. Ashford lets you go past all those things altogether to become a highschool student and turning it into a big harem show, where you become the less popular student, but still get some action with the most popular girls in school. xD

- Your main character never talks at all, but the rest of the cast does. That helps you understand what they are saying a little easier.

- Each day throughout the game at a specific time frame, there will be different people showing up and depending on who you decided to talk with, there will be different outcomes later on and different characters will appear at different times and day too.

- Lulu in a wedding dress~ <3 (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/lostcolors-40.jpg)

Dark Cloud.

- You play as the young boy Toan from Norune village who has a magic stone called the Atlamillia that's been given to him by a Fairy King, and you are helping people to rebuild their towns and villages that has been destroyed by a Dark Genie.

- This is a free-roaming action adventure game where you get to explore different environments and collect items. You are gaining experience points so you can upgrade your weapons, not necessarily leveling up yourself. You will also find special spheres that contains the building blocks for rebuilding people's houses and things like that. You can also collect items that help you explore caves and other places. You have to give yourself some water in the menu screen or you will slowly dehydrate.

- Depending on how you rebuild houses and placing them the right way, you gain special gifts from the townspeople. You can arrange the building blocks any way you like. There's houses, fences, trees, and lots more.

- You can also give different element or upgrading effects to your weapon by going to the Customize screen for your weapon.

- It's a very fun game, and the character design is great too. You get to play as other characters later on too. Xiao is so cute and Ruby is beautiful~ ^^

The Uncertainty Machine. (MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! >: D)

- The game is a point-and-click type of game, and we all love those kind of games. And it's free nya~ :3

- Most of the music is made of piano notes, and it's relaxing and soothing, even if it's only for a little while. There's also some weird and frightening music too.

- The environments in the game are well-designed, you can make out the details just fine and the colors doesn't hurt the eyes. The further you get, the better the environments and rooms in the game looks, specially in the Warehouse.

- You can use your mobile phone to make prank calls and later enter people's rooms when they have left said rooms. xD

- The text in the game is in different colors so you can easily make out who is saying what.

- The Hi-Fi Player in Colin's private room plays some rockin' head-boping music! ^^;

- Black fits Susan just fine in Day 2. ;3

- Isn't it funny how you can wear different clothes and protesters don't even know that you're not really a construction worker, but actually a news reporter? But that's OK, you still get to borrow their keys to open a specific box in the postal office.

- The characters are so pixely and they don't really move a lot, but that's still funny. Specially Pete that you place a syringe on to get information from. He had the least frames out of all characters. xD

- Ooooh what's that light shining in front of the machine? Let me get inside! OMG it's so dark in here! I have to keep walking... walking... walking... walking... am I there yet...? AH I'M BLIND- I mean o hi shiny talking thingy stuck in a different universe! x3

- Oh yay I got this device thingy with coordinates and stuff... what if I use them myself? Let's try it! Start the machine... there! Step into the light and ... Yay, Color distortion! > w < Let's just get out of here! ... oh no! I'm stuck in the black emptiness and the world is gone...! ... I guess I'll make this my new home.

- OK that wasn't really a great idea, let's just call Jacob and see if he can make something good out of things. Waiting... waiting... waiting... oh hi Jacob! Here's your device thingy, make good use of it! *many months later* Oh wow, so many machines all over the world that everyone gets for their own personal use... but... did Susan do the right thing? Who knows. ^^;

- "MONEY MAKES YOU SICK!" "THEY LIVE! YOU LEAVE!" "NO JACK IN THE BOX!" "FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!" "email the author!"

Left Behind.

- There is no blood, guts or mature things in the game.

- It's um... flashy... x3

I'm sorry, RPM rules says no religious things. =w=

and so, I shall do so, Final Fantasy 7.

I was so happy when I got the game as a gift at the release back in 1997, and I loved the game so much. There really are fun moments in the game if you look a bit closer. ^^

- The pre-rendered backgrounds in the game is actually well-done, and also the game does have FMV cutscenes that looked amazing back in the late 90's. In some of these cutscenes, you could also control your blocky character and do silly things. And don't forget that the character models in battles aren't blocky and do show artistic details done to them.

- A new system added into the game is the Materia. They are round shiny balls that you find all over the place in the game, and also inside shops. There are many different types of Materia in the game.
1. Green Materia are your magic spells.
2. Red Materia are your Summons.
3. Yellow Materia are new commands that you can give to your characters like example Steal, Double Cut, Double-casting spells and other useful commands.
4. Blue Materia are supportive in a way that you can combine them with Magic or Summon materia so they give you added effects, like example being able to use the same cure spell on your whole group, adding elemental effects to your weapon and armor and other effects.
5. Purple Materia are independant abilities gives you special stats boosts (Like example HP Plus to raise Max HP) or lets you do things you normally couldn't like example being able to catch Chocobo's or affect enemy encounters and first strike attempts.

- Some examples with materia is that you can put a green materia combined with the Elemental blue materia on your armor slots, and you will be able to gain less damage or get healed by those types of elemental attacks. Another good basic combination is the All materia combined with the Cure materia, and that will let you heal all your characters in one turn instead of healing them one at a time. There are plenty of fun combinations you can try that will help you experience the game in a way you wouldn't imagine, including breaking the game in a way that gives you lots of advantage. ;3

- Each materia has it's own experience point system called Ability Points (AP). You gain them by fighting enemies. When you have enough AP, the materia will level up and give you new abilities (like example Cure will give you Cure 2, Double Cut will give you 4x Cut, and so on). When you have gained the max level of the materia, it will be Mastered and the materia will duplicate itself into a new materia for later AP grinding. There is a reason to max out every materia in the game. In the course of the 2nd disc in the game, you will find 4 Master Materias that is important, both for story and completion purposes. They will be stored in Cosmo Canyon. When you have Mastered every materia of one color (let's say the Green magic materias), go to the Cosmo Canyon and look at the Green Master Materia there. You will get a Master Materia of your own that gives you EVERY SINGLE magic spell in one materia. Very awesome stuff~ <3

- Among the yellow materia that you can find in the game is the Enemy Skill command. The first time you find it is in the Midgar Building, and with that equipped, you will be able to learn the skills that enemies are attacking you with. One of the most useful magic skills you can learn very early is Matra Magic and it will shoot tiny little missiles that attacks every enemy on the screen. I will explain why that's awesome in the next steps.

- Every character has their own unique "desperation move" (similar to Final Fantasy VI), this time called Limit Breaks. When your character gets enough damage, a little bar will be filled and then suddenly shine in rainbow colors. That will let you use their Limit Break and deal more damage than usual. Each character's limit break work in different ways. Some of them asks you to press a button to stop a slot machine, like example Tifa's limit break. There are also high level limit breaks that hits multiple times, like Cloud's Omni-Slash.

- The Limit Breaks are divided in multiple levels and you gain each new limit break in two ways. First of all, for each level of Limit Break, there are two moves you can learn. To learn the second move of the same level, you have to use the first move at least 8 times. Then there is a way to unlock a new level of Limit Breaks with two new moves on them. To gain a new level, your character has to defeat at least 60 or 80 enemies. This is where your Matra Magic enemy skill will come in handy very early in the game. In the top-left side of Fort Condor, there are enemies you can fight in the forests there. They show up in the amounts of 5 or 3 in each battle. That will give you enough enemies to learn new Limit Breaks with less pain, so use Matra Magic on all of them to learn Limit Breaks quickly.

- A fun aspect of the game is being able to catch your own Chocobo and then raise their stamina and other attributes in the Chocobo Farm to the right side of Midgar and Kalm Town. To be able to catch a Chocobo, you have to first equip a Chocobo Lure materia and then walk around some chocobo tracks on the map. Throw vegetables to the Chocobo so it can eat it, and then defeat the enemies surrounding it, and you will successfully catch the chocobo. There are different colored Chocobo's with different abilities. Yellow chocobo are the normal ones that lets you walk on plain ground, Blue Chocobo lets you walk on shallow water, Green Chocobo lets you walk on mountains, Black Chocobo lets you do all of those things except walking over deep water, but Gold Chocobo takes care of that just fine, since it can walk ANYWHERE!!

- Another fun thing in the game is the Gold Saucer attractions that act like fun mini games. You can play them and gain Gold Points (GP) that you can later trade for very rare items in the Gold Saucer area. The music is adorable and catchy too~ You can take your chocobo to race in the Chocobo Racing mini game, you can also try and earn a high score in the Motorcycle mini game, or play the very smooth fluid and awesome Snowboarding mini game, with 3 courses to race on. It's so funny that on the first track near the end, on Time Attack mode, you will dash at a ridiculous speed rate similar to that of F-Zero on a completely flat surface. And the game doesn't slow down at all which makes it so funny and cool to look at. x3

- Exclusive to the English versions of the game for the moment was optional boss fights against Ruby Weapon in the Gold Saucer area, and Emerald Weapon underwater. They were later available in Japan in a new edition of the game called FFVII International, that had the exact same features as the English versions, but in Japanese. The compilation also included an extra disc with insider information and interviews about the game itself, and also guides. Anyway, the optional bosses had a lot of HP way over the 800,000 mark, or not more, and they require you to beat them with very specific methods, materia and skills. You gain two items from them. Desert Rose from Ruby gives you a Gold Chocobo, while Earth Harp from Emerald gives you one Master Materia for EACH color (Green, Red, Yellow).

- Something that not many games have (besides Wild ARMs of course), is item glitching. Near the end of the second disc, you can find a materia called W-Item. Have it equipped on any character, and in battle, any item that isn't gray-colored can be duplicated. Select one item first, and on the second item-selection, press Cancel, then OK and keep repeating this step all the time until you have 99 of that item. That is also very useful if you want to max out your Gil in a painless way. xD

- The same thing can be done with items that you Morph from enemies. First you need to have a empty slot above the item that you are going to perform the glitch on (preferably the very first slot in your item list). Deal some damage to an enemy and then use the Morph ability on it. The morphed enemy will become a rare item, like example Power Source or Speed Source used to permanently raise your stats. Now use the W-Item ability and select the item under the morphed item you just got. Do the item glitch on it, and your morphed item will now have the numbers raised each time until it reach 99. This is a very awesome way to get max stats for your characters.

I can keep going like this, but you can see that the game has so much in-depth and fun things to do, that the story isn't really something you should be worrying about.

Okami~

- This is an action-adventure game, very similar to the Zelda games. It's among the most beautiful games that Clover Studio has made, and their other works include Viewtiful Joe and God Hand.

- The very unique aspect of the game is the Celestial Brush, where you are able to pause the game and draw something on the screen for different effects. Throughout the game, you gain new brushes by drawing lines on the stars in the sky to form constellations, and from there you gain new brushes from the Celestial Brush gods, who are based on Chinese zodiac. Each brush works in different ways. Galestorm lets you summon wind that will blow in any direction you like, Water Lily lets you summon lily pads that you can step on while traveling on water, Catwalk lets you walk on specific walls, and there are many other brush techniques that helps you reach new areas or attack enemies.

- The characters and the conversations with them are funny and set a very warm humorous mood to them. You feel connected to them for the fact that the visual aspect of the game is mostly artistic and they talk in very fun ways too.

- The soundtrack of the game is among the largest for a video game, filling up roughly 5 discs. The music is in a classic Japanese style, and they also have a sense of distinct beauty to them as well. Some of the songs are these: True Strength (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6fPnlOb0TQ), Susano-O's Fight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYJXRUFO9SE), Sunrise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0CbB-G9MXY), and more.

- Sakuya's softies, snuggle pillows, fluff muffins~ <3 ^oo^

Imagine Babies

- The more you babysit a baby, the more money you get from the parents, and that gives you enough funds to buy new toys and things.

- The mini games in the game are more or less touch-controlled games, where you can for example mow the lawn and cook food.

- At a high smiling rate, your babies will be able to dance by playing an instrument (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o72UdJAVkxk), like drums or piano.

Let's Meow Meow!

- Aww, Kobashi-chan looks adorable in a maid outfit... but then she falls flat on the floor... (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/letsmeowmeow/C03P1.png) >oo<

- But the fun doesn't stop there, because she will give spanks to Ibuki-kun~ Kehehehehe~ (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/letsmeowmeow/C05.png) > : 3

- Hanabi decides to sing for us, but that doesn't seem to go well. (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/letsmeowmeow/C06.png) x3

- Shinju doesn't like that at all, so she decides to chase Hanabu! (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/letsmeowmeow/C07.png) XD

- Aww Mikan-chan~ Soft snuggle kitteh~ Nya nya~ (http://lol.rockmanpm.com/letsmeowmeow/C08.png) *huggles* ^w^

And um, that's really it... =w=;

KNUCKLES CHAOTIX!

- The game that formed the Chaotix team, with fan favorites like Knuckles the Echidna (our lovable air-glider and wall-climber), Mighty the Armadillo (who can kick off walls and reach new heights), Vector the Crocodile (who gets a power boost in mid-air and can climb walls), Espio the Chameleon (Running on walls and ceilings like a ninja) and Charmy Bee (the flying cutie in the team). And also Heavy and Bomb that are available as partners from the Combi Catcher.

- The music is lovely and has this upbeat soothing atmosphere, combined with the Yamaha YM2612 sound chip. Among the favorites we can hear are Door Into Summer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-axPO7pwgg), Walkin' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTmuR66DfTk), Speed Of Sound (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wC-AEQslsI) and Tachy Touch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMJbnWuIjxI).

- Hey, wait a minute, let me grab you for a moment. Up you go! *throw to the next platform* Yaaaaaay~!! Wasn't that a fun ride?

- It's cool how there's a little cutscene on the 5th act of each Zone before you fight the boss, like example in Speed Slider where the team gets shot up into space in a big rocket.

- Even tho Mega Metal Sonic is easy to beat (hit his hands and throw your partner at him when his arms are gone), he still looks freakishly awesome! x3

Mega Man X7

- The 2D aspects of the game works so well in this game, even when the camera view changes in a tilted kinda way, similar to Pandemonium.

- The character models are actually good here. The animations while running around in the stages looks smooth and fluid too.

- After you get at least half of the reploids in the game or beat enough stages, you unlock X and after that, the game gets easier and more fun, thanks to his charge buster and capsule upgrades. And he can glide~ x3

- The game has a very awesome soundtrack. The songs are of course rock styled, with catchy upbeat tunes and some of them has this emotional soothing flair added to them as well. A couple of great songs are these: Underground ~ Tunnel Base Stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVsXTF8YSyA), Naval Battle ~ Battleship Stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsEkn2GZV50), Conflict ~ Escape Stage / Warehouse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcsPZB_wurk), Awake Road Again ~ Highway Stage / Central Highway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4279QUkkKU) and many more. ^^

[spoiler]Burn! Burn! Burn to the Ground!! Burn to the Ground!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAZWPda5RVo) Moero! Moero! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8t0s0Uqx1Y) 8D[/spoiler]

The World Ends With You or Commander Keen in "Aliens Ate My Babysitter" please.

TWETY

- "You're so zetta slow!"

- The game has you playing as Neku, who wanders around the Shibuya districts, minding his own business. He suddenly gets summoned into a game of survival where he has to get rid of Noise creatures around the area with a couple of days, or he (as well as other players summoned into the game) will be exterminated by a group called the Reapers. If they manage to get rid of the Noise, they get to live... for now...

- The battles are filled with fast action and asks for reaction from the player. First you use Neku on the touch screen to attack Noise with the touch pen in different ways. After that, the action goes up to the top screen where you perform your partner's attacks with the D-pad and a button. The fights bounce back and forth like this and each time this happens, you throw around this green-sphered puck that with each successful attacks will give you attack boosts that deal more and more damage to the Noise enemies and other opponents, like the Reapers. With more practice and some trial and error, you can perform team attacks with your partner that is so visually appealing and awesome to look at.

- It's cool how the game has a lot of variety when it comes to combining your pins and threads to make you stronger depending on which area you visit. And since there's over 300 pins to pick up, you have a lot of upgrading and customizing to do. Some of them give different effects, while others are either for healing or attacking. You attack in different ways with the touch pen. Take for example the elemental based spells. You pull the touch pen close to Noise enemies to make trails of fire burning onto them. You can also tap on the Noise enemies to shoot big blaster shots in combos.

- You will gain experience points for your pins when you don't play the game for a long time. It makes things better that way, so you don't always have to play the game to grind up some exp when you need it.

- The game is full of amazingly beautiful sprite work and cut scene artworks done by Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi. And it all fits in so well with the Shiguya cultural style and the general art style that Nomura does for Kingdom Hearts.

- A cool aspect of the game is that enemies and bosses will zoom in and out of range, be part of the environment on the stages, giving the game more depth and a sense of visual effect, as it would seem like it's multi-dimensional. Some bosses will also have separate parts attached to them, like arms and legs, and those kind of sprite effects looks dynamic too.

- And of course, since the game moves in a very fast pace, you will be attacked all the time with multiple bullets and laser attacks without so much time to rest in one spot, so you have to keep moving around to avoid everything. The weapon effects of the bosses and enemies are beautiful to look at too.

- You have access to many types of charge attacks, like homing lightning attacks that strikes lots of enemies on the screen and also big laser attacks that deal lots of damage to bosses. The normal attack is small beams that spread towards the enemies in-front of you. And all these attacks can be used in the blink of an eye between each of them without any stops and waiting.

- The visual aspect of the game is amazing too. The game is in 2D pixel style and there are multiple pieces and particles in the stages that are zoomed in and out in different ways, making you see the visual aspects of the stages seem more dynamic in a way.

- The music is of course very upbeat and pumping with guitars and the likes. It gets specially hectic against bosses and it sounds more awesome in that sense too. There are a few synth notes that gives this distinct emotional moods to the songs too.

- You play as the blue-haired Fighter Roa and get to choose a partner that you can switch to at anytime: God Gundam, Kamen Rider Black RX and Ultraman. In the 2 player mode, you decide which player will be Roa or the partners.
This is one thing I've been wanting to ask you. Being you know moonspeak, could you possibly confirm whether it's truly Roa or Roar in the game? There's always a bit of confusion over that.

Aha, so you did at least look up relevant stuff about the game. I'm impressed. And wow, that's a big reply. Thanks for paying attention to every single entry, Vixy.

By the way, the "best" ending of the game, is the one where the whole surface of the earth is pretty much completely covered with Uncertainty Machines. Basically, the conclusion is that the human race will sooner or later crumble upon itself, and the only way to stop it is to simply isolate each individual in their own tiny little perfect universe so they can turn into an omnipresent ball of light in a dark world, and be happy and fulfilled for all eternity.

I'm sorry it took so long time, but I did it as fast as I could, so I could reply to one of my most favorite games ever!!

So, Vix, what can you tell me about Godzilla: Monster of Monsters (NES)?

This song~ <3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzEdRgzMlSs)

So I played it and I liked it. ^^

You control Godzilla and Mothra around different planets and each planet is formed by hex-shaped tiles with different terrains, environments and obstacles in them. Each monster has only a set of steps they can take per turn. Godzilla can only take 2 steps and Mothra can take about twice as much.

The mission is to get to the other side of the map, to a teleporter base, and move on to the next planet. There will be other monsters to fight on the map too, so walk next to them to start fighting with them.

But the basic thing is, you will be entering these hex-shaped tiles, where there will be lots of creatures and mechanical weapons shooting things at you while you walk around. Godzilla can punch, kick and smack with his tail. And Godzilla has a laser attack with the Start button too. Mothra can fly around freely on the screen, but is weaker than Godzilla and most hits will push Mothra down the left corner. x.x

With every boss fight or big obstacles you have successfully conquered, your monster will gain a level and their Life or Power meter will get higher. The Power meter is your special attack, in this case Godzilla's laser attack, which drains the full meter, but will slowly fill up again. There will be a lot of projectiles flying towards your monsters, but luckily there is Life capsules hidden inside some of the enemies or spots that you can punch or kick. You can just keep walking forward while picking up the Life capsules and the enemies won't even be a big threat to you.

The monsters that you fight are easy to fight too. Gezora doesn't really do anything to you, so you can just keep punch it with Godzilla or use the laser attack. The same thing with Moguera, where you can just keep going towards it and jump-punch as much as you want, and some laser attacks in-between.

Fun game. If you want to play a game for a short time and just feel like punch and kicking things, this game is just for you. And it has a password system too, so you can continue from where you left off. ^^b

"Don't [parasitic bomb] Your Pants", from Kongregate.

Um well, at least the guy knew how to take off the pants first before heading into the bathroom. >U<

And he slowly became the King and got all the awards.

Have you ever played TMNT Battle Nexus?
If so, tell me about it. : 3

I remember playing the Gamecube and GBA versions.

The GBA version had you go through mission-based 2D side-scrolling levels, where you got quick instructions to collect things, like the turtle's weapon, open up door with key cards, fighting bosses and things like that. It was basically a brawler like the other Turtles games before it. It had pretty rocktastic upbeat music, and voice samples in a few places, specially when you do attacks or get hit. ^^;

The Gamecube version, it's also a brawler where you walk around in different environments and kick some behinds. The game was in 3D and in a semi-overhead view this time, and it has a Story Mode, Tournament Mode, 4 player multiplayer action and the Original Arcade Game as a unlockable bonus. ^w^

A thing I loved so much with the Gamecube version is that the cutscenes (for the most part) were animated, you know, in the TV Show cartoon style, with voice acting and everything. And I also love that you could fight Miyamoto Usagi (from Usagi Yojimbo) in the game too... but I wish Usagi was playable tho. =w=

Hmmmmmmm....how about Mario Kart: DS!  XD

Again, Peachie~ <3

Lots of unlockable vehicles for each character to use, like example the Yoshi Egg. XD

And free online play. ;3

What I usually do is play online races with my boyfriend Akira. And we can also play on hacked or custom tracks too. ^^b

Final Fantasy IX.

I did that~ (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=4734.msg247642#msg247642) I can add something tho. C:

The Tetra Master card game. It was similar to the FFVIII's Triple Triad, with a few changes. Remember how in FFVIII, there was 4 numbers showing on each side of the card? They were on the top, bottom, left and right side, and had a number between 0 and A, A being the highest number.

In FFIX, it was a little different. See, the attack system works in a way so that there are now arrows showing up on the cards. The arrows shows in which direction the cards will attack. Be careful tho, because opponents can strike your cards in those directions too.

There are also 4 numbers on the cards too, but right on the center of it, with a value between 0 and E on each. The first number is the attack power, the second number is actually a symbol or letter that shows the card's attack type, like example P for Physical attacks and M for Magic attacks, and there are other types too. The third number is the physical defense and the fourth number is the magical defense.

You place the cards on this grid field where one of you will put a card and then wait for the other player to place their card somewhere or next to the last card put on the field. If there are any arrow reactions between the cards, they will start fighting each other.

A big number will show up on the cards that attacked each other. The card with the lowest numbers will get flipped and you have won that card (for the moment), and if that card has the arrow pointing to other cards, it will attack those cards too, ending in lots of combo winnings. x3

All You Have To Do Is Burn The Rope.

I played it a few years ago. Very fun and the end song is catchy.
And the fact it's a Swedish-developed game felt good too (I'm from Sweden). ^^

Xenosaga

Today I Die. Such a beautiful game.

Yay, I played this game a while ago. And yea, I think it's beautiful too. ^^

"Free world, full of beauty. Today I swim, until you come." O^O Adorable and lovely ending~

Having to play around with objects, bringing up words that shows on-screen and placing them on the poem on the top of the screen was a very subtle thing in the game, and when you swapped the words around so the poem was read differently, things in the game suddenly changed too, so you had to reach to those things too. The game is so well-made and with a special message behind it. The music was good too.

I also played the other games like "I Wish I Were the Moon" and "Storyteller".
The sprites are so cute and adorable and I love the message the games bring up too. ^oo^

Sonic Unleashed.

Chocolate Chipped Cream Sundae Supreme~ <3 <3

The cutscenes were well-done, and that includes the very first one in the opening. ^^;

I like the game a lot, mostly because of the levels where you play as Sonic, and things are going so fast! There are some fancy camera angles in some levels that shows the environment in a large open scale and it looks beautiful with those kind of tricks and effects in mind. Then again, I was playing through the Wii version, so maybe it looks better on the other systems. ^^

The music is beautiful too, because there's violins, guitars and things on some of them, like example Apotos Daytime (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lW3myl1FRYw). It's a soothing relaxing song that's still upbeat.

I loved the voice acting in Sonic World Adventure (the Japanese version), and you can clearly hear Dr. Vile (Weil)'s voice in there too. ;3

Azure Dreams~

0v0 One of my favorite games~ <3

I really wish Konami made more games like this. (at least we got the demake on the Game Boy Color, and Tao's Adventure on DS)

I liked how you could go through this 40-floor tall tower, walk around in it like the dungeon crawler it is and pick up items and things. And since the main guy Koh is a monster tamer like his father Guy was (before he disappeared), he could find monsters called familiars and treat them as his own. You could find about 50 different familiars in the game. Kewne is the cutest~ ^w^

The funniest and coolest thing tho is how you could interact with girls and win their hearts. XD You would have to do different things to have a chance with them. Donating money to build the swimming pool in the village would let you see them in their own swim wear later. x3

1. Selfi is my favorite~ Her beautiful long hair, her magic outfit (rawr~ :3), and the bowtie on her bikini~ Vixylicious nya~ <3
2. Nico is good too, but acts like a tsundere most of the time. x3 Nico fixes her hair a bit when she wears a bikini so it looks like long pony tails and I think that Miku has learned a thing or two from her. xD
3. Oh, and Fur from the Item Shop, wearing her bikini, looks sexy too (specially the pose she makes). >u<;
4. There are other girls too, like Patty in the local village restaurant. You had to buy all the meals from her to have her interested.
5. Mia is cute too, specially when she takes off her glasses, since she the kind of girl that likes to read a lot.
6. Cherrl has a disease that needs to be cured, so after you donate some money for the village to build a hospital, she will feel better and you win her heart. Aww! ^^
7. And the dancer Vivian comes for a visit to the village too.
8. Oh yea, Selfi's brother Ghosh will bother you a bit too, and brag about his coolness and beauty and all that stuff, and you meet him in the tower too a few times. After a long while into the game, he will also be (very) interested in Koh, if you know what I mean~ ;3

So besides all the dating sim action and those things, you walk around the tower, climbing higher up to follow the footsteps of Koh's father Guy who was also a monster tamer.

[spoiler]At the highest floor, you meet Beldo, an old friend of Guy, who wants to use the power of the Ultimate Egg on the top floor to take over the world and all that stuff. That scene where Guy sliced off Beldo's arm to stop him from casting the evil spell was kinda gory, but at least the world was safe, for that moment. But now Beldo wants to take Koh's blood since the blood of a monster tamer is needed to break the spell that seals the Ultimate Egg and it's powers. But lucky you, you have Kewne who kept Guy's sword for a long time now and gives it to Koh so that he can defeat Beldo once and for all. Kewne snuggling Koh in the end is adorable. ^^[/spoiler]

On the save file, you can also see the girls that fell in love with Koh. Cute icons. x3

I think everyone should play this game. It's been a part of my childhood memories for a long time now and the conversations between the characters is fun too. ^^

Oh, did you know that the Japanese version had voice acting?
It does, and you should take a listen to them. They are cute~ :3

Um, I think I have to stop here (just for a little while).
I don't want this to cause so much stress to me, and I have other things to take care of. x.x

I will come back and do the things I do best: Saying happy happy things about video games. ^^

Maybe you guys can take over for me? Just for a little while at least.
And if you guys want me to come back again, I will do that.
And if you want me to add something to someone's comments, I will do that too.

- Let's explore every nook and cranny! And find cool stuff!
- Cool music! Then again, I like most game music.
- VYSE! He's got the goggle-visor thing goin' on, just no OVER 9000! And it's a good thing. And DOUBLE CUTLASSES! OH YEAH!
- AIKA~ Yeah... she's cute, and she's got a huge friggin' boomerang. YEAH! And she's a leftie; as a leftie myself, I approve.
- FINA~ She's got the cute little pet Cupil... so cuuute~

That's all I remember. Hope it was good.

*tries his best to channel the spirit of Vixy in his post*

Brave Fencer Musashi

-Great naming schemes, Allucaneet Kingdom? Soda Fountain? Grillin Village! [tornado fang] Yeah! Still sad that it took a while for me to get it growing up.  8D
-YOU CAN TAKE THE ABILITIES OF YOUR ENEMIES?! By stabbing them with your glowing sword? Lots of possibilities? Who can complain!  <3
- Epic battle theme with your rival! (http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=25ayfZaQOmg&feature=related) Awesome freaking frozen dragon theme! (http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=HDbkhdNTAxI&feature=related)  Best final level theme ever! (http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=_26-7g5sq2k&feature=related) AKA, great Action RPG soundtrack ahoy.  owo
-Side Quests that involve interesting characters and some decent rewards for a change~
-One of Square's overlooked games again... is it just me or is Square good at making one or two shots that just simply ooze more love and enjoyment than your typical FF cookie cutter~

Parasite Eve

-Most interesting female lead of her time? I think so personally. Aya is both hot, intelligent and particularly intriguing to boot.
- Primal Eyes! YES! (http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=XGWa4Zm0YDA&feature=related) <3
-Innovative and advanced game play style for an RPG of its time.
-SET IN NEW YORK CITY! PB, you should totally play this if you haven't~  owob
-Lots and lots of guns! Also, another example of a great game that Square made that just gets overlooked... well, until I heard about The 3rd installment. Square... restore my faith in thee!

Also, thanks Vixy~ My kitty was especially interested in the knowledge of voice acting. We're definitely gonna check that out soon.

Actually, I want you guys to say good things about some games.

Mushihimesama Futari <3
Otomedius Gorgeous <3
Brave Fencer Musashi <3
Parasite Eve <3
Skies of Arcadia <3
Gimmick (NES) <3
Banana Prince (NES) There's a English, Japanese and German version.

I've only played Parasite Eve and Brave Fencer Musashi back when I had a PS2. But Its been a LONG time since I've played those game (plus they belonged to my older brother). So I try if I call recall all the things I liked from these games. Starting with Parasite Eve...

Parasite Eve
- I like how its kinda part-turn based and part real-time; you had this ATB meter like in past FF games, but you have the freedom to run around and to actually feel like your in the game instead of going through menus and just watch the action happen.

- The game gives you a nice level of equipment customization being able to give abilities such as the Triple Command (which is WAY better than Fire x[number of times] abilities) or Burst Effect from a weapon and give it to another or give that equipment's stat bonuses and give them to another piece of equipment so you can build up to be a stronger item. Izuna 2 kinda reminded me of Parasite Eve's equipment customization, but I don't want to go off subject...

- The game definitely has the feel of a Resident Evil game, but was about mitochondria and fighting against genetic mutations and the game is set in modern day New York and you get to travel to place in New York like Manhattan and the National Museum of History. And instead of magic, you're using Aya's mitochondrial powers to heal or release her full mitochondrial powers to inflict a lot of damage to enemies.

- The music is what sold me into this game. Truly the Squaresoft/Square-Enix quality of music. Any music that has to do with Eve really hits that mark. This might illustrate my point: [link] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj8MYB3J9uU&fmt=18)

- Personally, this is an underrated game that deserves more, but it was overshadowed by games like FF7 (even though I do enjoy FF7 a lot at the time).

Brave Fencer Musashi
- This game kinda felt like Zelda to me since you can talk to townsfolk, travel to various places, fight in real-time and hunt cute critters for HP-boosting berries. The boss battles also kinda reminds me of the Zelda games.

- I like the style and theme of the game. Lord Ares already pointed that out. Story and characters are funny, too. :3

- Another game where I label "Square's level of Godliness". Topo's boss theme is too damn cute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UconhHhAVX8&fmt=18). I feel sorry for her after beating her in her game of DDR of DEATH!

- Assimilate enemies' abilities with your sword? Look out Kirby, you got competition!

- Like Parasite Eve, this is fun game that deserves more...

That's because those are the only two games that Vixy requested that I've actually played. I'm never gonna play Mushihime-sama Futari/Black Label, and its not because its a Cave shooter (heck, I've played games like Blue Wish Resurrection Plus which comes from a freeware doujin circle that's as close to Cave as you can get), but its because its a Japan-only title and if my memory serves me correctly, limited number of copies of that game was made for the 360. And I have no flipin' clue about the other games... o-O

Not that I mind, of course.

I never said it was a bad thing. Hell, these games can use all the love they can get! I'll do one of my own!

Crash Bandicoot: Warped
- Awesome soundtrack... fits each stage quite well!
- DINGODILE! "Break out the butter; we're gonna make TOAST!" Easily one of my fav Crash characters
- Fun stages and bonus stages. All with a remix of the main theme suited for the stage theme.
- Underwater, Stone Age, Egypt, China, Medieval, Arabia, Pirates, the 60s, the Future... a lot of time periods covered, with stereotypes used to comedic effect!
- Each of the boss fights use a unique time period!
- POWERS! Super Belly Flop, Double Jump, Super Spin (forget the name), Fruit Bazooka, Dash... all useful
- Relics! The time trial was well done, and not only could you go for Gold after getting Sapphire (or even before if you were fast enough), there's the nigh-impossible Platinum Relic times to go for! I still haven't earned all Platinum...
- Death animations. There are quite a few, and they're all funny. Whether it's Crash's legs walking off in the medieval levels, or being turned to ashes and having his eyes blink at you in any stage with fire... they're all cartoonish and hilarious!
- The epilogue... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpvzveP3vSk#t=3m14s) D'awww.... spoilers there of course

Ahem. yeah...

This song~ <3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzEdRgzMlSs)

So I played it and I liked it. ^^
Glad you did, glad you did. 8)

LOTS of epic music in the later-game, though, as the computer's monster lineup grows ever larger as you progress.  Forgive the SPOILERS, but [spoiler]Gigan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9yckOHae-I) and Ghidorah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXXlbL4bslY) are both freaking awesome.[/spoiler]

Gimmick (NES) <3
If you haven't played Gimmick then you don't know [parasitic bomb] about pushing a video game console to its very limits!
The level design, the fantastic graphics where I sometimes thought that they look like from an early 16-bit game, the upbeat music with the notorious Sunsoft bass, the amazing attention to detail and many more show that this game is a work of love and it's a [tornado fang]ing shame that more people haven't played it.

Now tell me some good things about Game Center CX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retro_Game_Challenge).

The sequel really does look awesome.

Excuse me while I go and throw some cold stares at those who didn't buy the original, especially at those who pirated it instead.

I mean the first Game Center CX game, also known as Retro Game Challenge.
The reason why the sequel isn't coming out here is because the first one didn't sell well enough. :(

Red Steel
Dante's Inferno
Alpha Protocol

Played the first two myself, so I know how bad they can be. >.>
